Today we wasted at least 2 bloody hours to beat the god damn Dragon on H11 and we went back to the cave to get the powerstone. After we've been killed so many bloody times by these creatures inside that f**** cave (where entire island's creature are gathering there to kill you and also the road to the cave which is same or worse than inside, where creatures are see you from miles away - this is a real madness made by the grapeshot Devs!!!) some player, while we were running back to get our stones, stolen our loot boxes and all our effort to get the powerstone for today was a real f***** waste of TIME made by you, DEVS of Grapesgot which camed with the idea of losing the stone from you after you die !!!! Thank you Grapeshot devs for this "ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME" !!!! I will uninstall this MOCKERY made by YOU to the PLAYERS / TESTERS of your EARLY ACCESS !!! You nerfed so fast tiny things like killing a stone/fire golem with ballista and cannons BUT you never tried to lower the NIGHTMARE from POWER STONES ISLANDS !!! You nerfed so many useless things on this game because of this toxic community of kids with no games culture ("the game is too easy, please nerf it more!" <-> thanks for listening so fast these ret**** ) BUT you broke the constructions and many other major things that were working before all these nerfs. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR WASTING OUR NERVES AND BRING TO US THE MOST "ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME" !!! A REAL ADVENTURE OF MAKING NERVES WITHIN THIS MOCKERY YOU BROUGHT TO US !!! A GAME MUST BE FUN, ENJOYABLE, RELAXING AND CHALLEGING !!! THIS IS A MOCKERY, NOT A CHALLENGE !!!

Since the wipe announcement my brother stopped playing the game. I have to say, I haven't had more fun with this game ever. Anyone who is hating life in a large or even midsize company, do your own thing. I guarantee you wont be disappointed. I play the game in somewhat of an RP sense. I started a farm, am a hair shy of level 50 right now and can do just about everything besides maybe the super late game stuff 100% solo. There's always so much to do and keeping some friends nearby is always helpful. It does help Ive been around since the beginning so a lot of those companies know me already, but I will say this game is very enjoyable. I really wish they would find a way to be able to get AI to farm though. I think this would change the game in such a positive way. Make it so each player can only have so many AI farm. And tames are not allowed. I cant imagine it would be the most difficult thing to program considering RTS's have been doing it for 20 years. Just my two cents, and some positivity on this board. Looks like a bitch fest most of the time

I did M12 pre-wipe, and is one of the reasons I chose a grid near M12 because I found it so easy. It wasn't until the 3rd visit to the FoY that I realised going long the water to the closest point of the cave entrance was much easier than running across the land.

Sextant buff is your best friend, shows all the shipwrecks around and can last up to 2 hours. But other then that a dive suit and a lantern are all you really need. The gold is better then flotsams, best we got was about 250, average is between 50 and 100. They are a great way to get gold early on.

    1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down. If you like any of these options, please reply to this thread with your comments and feel free to suggest some more ideas pertaining to ships! And a special thank you to @Jatheish for taking the time to read this! Loving the game.

Come on Devs. FOR YEARS IN ARK WE ASKED FOR A CHOICE OF GATES, AND YOU WOULDN'T GIVE US THEM. I am sick and tired of having to build structures that are either TOO SMALL or stupidly OVERSIZED, just to fit the gates. Please give us a selection of Gates, or implement the DYNAMIC GATE from the S+ MOD from Ark. Its not difficult and can be implemented quickly. It would also stop so many shit oversized building having to be made. Which in turn will reduce the lag on the servers. WIN WIN WIN. Come on Devs start using some common sense, you've made a great game so far, but implementing Dynamic gates would make total sense. Give the players what they need. Sorry if this sounds aggressive but I love designing good buildings, but can because of the lack of gate choices I am limited to having to build massive ridiculous barns to incorporate the behemoth gate.

We'll have to agree to dis-agree. The new system still needs some tweaks, but it does what it was intended and allows for all players (both ones that built ships and found spots on server opening and those starting brand new two months from now) to be able to sail around for maybe a couple sectors and find areas in which they can settle. Even putting in limits on flags. In a very short time the servers would be right back to where they started with entire islands being completely claimed and locked with everyone setting the flags to Company build only, because it's the easier to do that then it is to trust someone to not wreck what they view as "theirs". And people by nature are greedy, if every player is given 5 flags then they every player will place 5 flags ... even if all they ever build is a 3x3 shack on the first one and have no use for the other 4.
  10. 1 point
They changed the claim system for whiners who were too lazy to sail for a claim when the game came out. After waiting a month and not sailing more than 2 tiles in each direction, they spam complained the forums and discord so bad they took away the old system completely and came up with utter crap system rather than just limiting each company to 5 flags. So, those of us who built a ship asap, got out and sailed and searched isle after isle and found a claim, built it up and made great strides lost everything. Pretty much sums it up.

The landlord system is working perfect for me. Is it working in general for the game? Well that answer is not so clear cut. Can't just go by player numbers at this stage as it's still too early. I've never had an interest in being a landlord and I had no interest in being on Lawless, but I never felt forced to join a settlement. I started on the island I am on right now, and started there before someone claimed it. My first thought was if I get some structures down before someone claims it in the next day I should be good, as it's a 53 point island I think so no-one would claim it immediately. During my first day I placed down a little box hut to get a bed etc. Realised it was placed in a bad Cobra spot (didn't realise at the time resource and animal spawns were same as Lawless due to homeport setting), so demolished my base and moved along the beach to where I now live. Of course doing that meant all my structures timers had reset to the point where when the island was claimed most of it was under 12 hours... I didn't give it a second thought. The owner was pleasant and I had no problems with them. They then unclaimed and left the server to join the newly opened NA PvE server. A few days later I get a new island owner. Have had no problems with them at all, they've also been very pleasant. I don't get taxed, even though PvE don't lose resources (besides gold) they still have tax set at 10% not 20%. Not had a single structure demo'd. Not given a second thought to placing down structures. Long story short.... many people live on lawless because they refuse to be a tenant because they have already written off the community as bad apples, which is in fact the complete opposite. The landlord system is not bad, but many people don't even give it a chance. So the system itself is not failing, it is the players that are failing the system. Signing off, one happy tenant/

One who speaks of how the game should be without ever playing the game is unable to give an opinion that should be valued by anyone, including yourself. Sorry but buy the game and experience the mechanics before you try to say how things should be. Further more, it is a company game. Did you catch the word "company". Not a squad, not a clan, not a group, a "company" game. What is the goal of most companies? To gain wealth, power and influence. So no, 5 people shouldn't control an island. Is it doable, yes. Would joining a bigger company make life easier in this game. Most definitely.
  18. 1 point
Sorry man. You said join bigger company. Kind of sucks that you are part of my crusade now. 10 man companies are what will happen. that or the death of the game anyways. Sad to see the Megas and wannabe Megas ruin this game so much. dont worry though. Changes are coming

I established my opinion as far as the new claim system goes awhile ago. You have also known I prefer the build anywhere style because I have said that multiple times before. How am I trolling because I gave my opinion? you really need to stop using that word, because you are not using it correctly. nothing in my post was joking, insulting, or trying to get a rise out of anyone.

New Beta! v1.5.0(beta24) (201-04-25) Minor bug fixes and a new scheduler! - Added: CPU usage is now operational for each grid (total CPU usage does not always work yet). - Added: Scheduled events: Send RCON commands to All or Local grids or run any file at scheduled times. (Thanks to Norlinri for requesting) - Added: Util now creates backup Server and Redis PID files to help prevent duplicate servers from being started. - Fixed: The util would freeze and eventually crash if SteamCMD locked up during update check. A 20 second shutdown timer was added to task kill SteamCMD if it locks up. - Fixed: The util would freeze and eventually crash if errors occurred when checking current installed server version. A new method was implemented to hopefully prevent further lock ups. To update, just click "Check for util update" in the utility's tray icon. It drives people from the game. They seem to think that anything that smacks of fairly easy, means it's too easy and boring. By that reasoning, your building structures should bite you also, if you do not approach the building at just the right spot to place a new wall. Your Ship planks should break if you do not place them on the ship when the temperature is just right. Everyone likes to think they are a hardcore gamer, but the truth is, the majority are not. Games made for hardcore gamers will be niche games, unless they make allowances, or even different servers for the casual gamers. Want proof of this? I suggested that one reason Megas and smaller companies need separate servers, is because the rates need to be different for both. Smaller companies need rates that take into account that they won't have dedicated whalers, or treasure hunters. So what was one of the responses? An accurate response, by the way. If the rates are easier on the small company server, the megas will go there. Is this really news? The Megas don't want a server just for Megas. That is too hard core. Better to have the small companies to feed on. Vitamins were a hard core element to the food system. But what do people do? Stand in fires. The reality is that most people don't have more than a few hours per day, at most, to dedicate to this game. I don't understand why this is so lost on the Devs. Why is it so hard to come up with a breeding system that does not require you to be on all day long, and on multiple days? If we were to translate their mentality to building a ship, it would work like this. The materials would decay, and planks placed on a ship would decay, if no activity was done on the ship every three hours. The ship would need to be built in stages that took place at timed intervals, and if you missed an interval, your ship would suck. You would have to be online to build that ship for two days straight. Would anyone build ships? Not many. So why is it so hard to understand that with as important as tames are in this game, that it makes no sense to penalize people who have a life outside the game?

Sounds perfectly fair, and perhaps even a bit exciting. Adapt and overcome.
  24. 1 point
My money making scheme. Tame bear. Run circle around island picking up maps. Do this for all islands in grid. Go to grid next door where most of your maps are. Do same there and do treasure maps. Bring gold and those maps back home. Do maps in your grid and grab new ones while doing it. Rinse repeat. I end up with more gold then I need which I donate to people/company. Sure the maps are low payouts....but when you have 10-15 of them on the same island it adds up quick. We have a map spawn right outside our main base. I did 4 of them a few nights ago and it paid out 600 gold for 10 minutes worth of killing and digging.

let's be real... the devs had a reddit channel with direct communication with all the mega leaders up till not too long ago. if the devs really wanted empires to work, they would have had actually listened to the mega leaders when they said get rid of the old claim system and use the settlement system and raid windows in the empires server just with increased company limits. the devs didn't listen and we all knew what the result was going to be... idk why everyone is so surprised with those results... we all saw it coming.

Just think about the sweet stacking perma-buff you will get. When the time comes put on some good music, get naked and enjoy the ridiculousness of it all.
  27. 1 point
Iif mapping is boring, you are doing it wrong. Take a full day and get some bears and start your maps...then get the maps from that island and do those. take a spyglass so you can do discoveries while you are at it. throw cliff maps on the ground, they are a waist of time. Do maps in the tundra for the whaling gold bonus. My point is, if you stay moving exploring, gathering rare mats for trade, whaling, ship wreck diving,...after an afternoon of fun you will have enough gold to sustain your island for quite some time. so that you have time to do your building...or going after end game content. we do this with a four man company and two brigs while having a blast in discord voice. the game is what YOU make of it. If you are bored, then you are doing it wrong.

Agreed. Jat has posted saying they heard us on the feedback of this, but why it wasn’t immediately changed in the next patch is baffling. I can’t imagine it should be anything other than changing a value in a field. Meanwhile one of your latest and most anticipated pieces of content goes universally unused because of a disconnected from reality initial rent structure.

So you are playing a PvP game but you refuse to play with someone else because you want to play alone. Sorry to tell you but with this approach you can't play this. Why don't you join larger company and make a separate crew with your own ship etc. instead of trying to do everything alone? You can't even do a proper PvE with 4 people, how do you expect your PvP will look like? If you don't have time to level up how do you want to find a time for PvP? You guys should go play PvE or join some unofficial server with increased rates. 4 people playing casually really can't play PvP in this game alone without being wiped. Edit: You guys can go live to our island on I7 if you want. You will pay tax but you will be protected from attacks (we are not mega but we are big enough to not being attacked by random raiders). You can find a place to live and build there, its an 86 island with iridium.
  31. 1 point
What you really need is a decent Unofficial PvPvE server. Your recruits weren't really keen in the first place, and simply gave up when a ship was lost. You were never going to be able to hold your ground against anyone with tepid enthusiasm like that.
  32. 1 point
Why don't you join someone if you can't afford an island? Why do you even play pvp if you struggle to keep an island to an upkeep? To be able to do pvp in this game you need to be able to meet you pve obligations first. Half of you initial members left after day first because of sinking schooner, are you sure you recruited pvp players? It seems to me like you need unofficial server more than official with increased rates. If there would be an official server with increased everything you propose everyone would play there including megas. How do you want to stop people from megas going on these servers? You won't. I understand your frustration but I have a feeling players need to do politics and group up in this game. If you can't hold your island, group up with someone else. If your players stop playing, group up again. On the other hand if your PvP players quit after sinking a ship or after day first losing against a bigger tribe they are no PvP players at all. We lost a battle for L10 against Cobra and Dark project Armada first day too but we simply went away from them. Now we have an island far away from them and we are totally ok. If you don't want to face megas why don't you just stay away from them?

The patch that changed the gold values of the whales may have bit off more than what was listed. Gold from whales reduced only by 17,5%, not 35% Mean whale was giving 1,700-2,200 before changes. Getting a flat 1,100 give or take change. Monstrous Whale was giving 1,200-1,600 before changes.. Getting a flat 700 give or take change. we noticed all of the whales are level 1 now.. and not 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, ect. which could explain why the flat rate we are seeing. 1,700 ~ 35% = 1,105 1,200 ~ 35% = 780 | So clearly we did not go back to a 17.5% as stated.

Been playing on this server and hanging in their Discord for about a week now. Really enjoy the calm laid back atmosphere. If you want true PVE gameplay and laid back Discord group then come check Bounty Bastards out. So far they are one of the only servers I know of that are using the Sub mod so that everyone gets to use the new sub without having to do the very difficult kill the kraken. So if you are a solo guy like me this is the server for you if you would like to see what the new sub is like. They are also using the old flag system so it seems though flag only took the timer away the timer was never actually moving. Small seems like a great person. No uptight rules here just PVE gameplay the way most of us want it. So if you are tired of things like struggling to know which grids are PVP danger zones or uptight admins/players that cry if a comment is in the wrong channel then join us. Small and her team of admin do their best to hear everyone and craft a server we can all enjoy.

I think the giraffe should be able to see over the fog layer That way, all prepared ships will have at least one giraffe on deck. When people say "OMG, You're havin' a Giraffe...", you could reply "hell yeah, ain't nobody pullin' the fog over my eyes!".... OK OK I confess. Too much coffee today. Forgive me!

I'd like to see fishing yield the same amount as killing fish, simply because fishing takes considerably longer and requires special bait and utensils. This makes it grossly unfair when you get sometimes 6 pieces of fish no skin and no oil for all the effort.thx

As a solo player, it’s totally not worth the cost of trying to own even the smallest of islands. Almost all of my game time would be involved in keeping it. Even something as small as The Shinning Isles in K7 (which would barely support 1 player) costs 244 gold per day. I have been burned by other players in the past and don’t personally know anyone who owns an island ATM. I don’t see any reason to trust another company or benefit to setting up on someone else island. True, after 24 hours they cannot delete my stuff, but can still, at anytime prevent me building more. So I’m setting up in Lawless. There isn’t any reason not to.

Couldn't agree more, with the suggestion to sell your ships. Would be great for people who are a bit more capable in designing things, to sell them and for those who cant build, or dont like to spend time on it, a great way to sail nice ships. It would also be nice to have some sort of blueprint system implemented.
  47. 1 point
Many players like myself came from ark, we love building and we love breeding and also where we could be traders. Like every pirate movie and game there were always traders. This would be amazing to be bale to sell ships, this helps people set up shops for planks, matts etc could open huge market also help those who work double shifts and need a ship but no time to make one but like to get maps and treasure. Please look into this claiming or selling the ship deed.
  48. 1 point
Well the unclaim feature should apply for any and all structures and items connected to the ship at the time of unclaiming.
  49. 1 point
I was hoping this would have been a thing when I first started. I planned to make it by making and selling ships I made. Only to find that no one can do bugger all with them. Even if you steal a ship all you can do is sink it. They really need to set it so if you steal a ship, or if you unclaimed, then it and EVERYTHING goes to the new owner. I would say maybe not the crew, let the crew be a defense of sort, they fight you off the ship or refuse to follow you less you bribe them once you steal the ship.
  50. 1 point
With the ranking system , the ability to unclaim ships should be a non-issue now. This would allow ship building companies to build and compete for business without waking up to all the ships given away by an insider. We could allow folks who are no longer with the company to part with a ship to find their own way.
