Much better now, you can see everything more or less without overly scrolling. All you need to do now is getting everything in the right order. For example, Archery Legendary Bows/Spears appears after Mythical..

As of now, the only use of the shipyard is to make ships. What if we can anchor or rather harbor 1 ship to the shipyard? This would work like the hitching post in s+ for Ark or the new breeding thing they added with extinction. This way, the ships would be more protected and shipyards would have a greater use (maybe give them a minor durability buff while harbored). My boats keep getting attacked by crocodiles and such that aggro onto my crewmembers. This would be a nice fix.

Having to place gold in every NPC is almost a job seriously, you need to run around all the island looking for the NPCs because the range of them getting the gold is 9 or 10 tiles, some NPC are located in difficult areas to go like cliffs and inside laberyints that you need to open a lot of doors to get inside or they mutiny. This mechanic is super grindy no fun, and no point. Yes you can place tons of gold in the chest but you risk someone taking the money after they blow up a tower. The food is another issue but I can live with that leveling only food in my NPCs ( 20 hp more would not make the difference if they are snipped with a canonball), but the gold is an issue. Especially if the tribe is small and your island is big. This will help defenders to maintain defenses and boats anchored. What I suggest is a system that give gold to npcs in an island owned by you. We will be able to do towers not that big because we dont need to place a 2x1 stone house with a chest every 9 tiles and all over the island. Which means less foundation spam and better render of the map in huge bases, also less resources of the server. And less people grifing ships anchored. Options I propose that system would be managed by a tribe admin in the bank or the flag. Having the option to give gold to anchored boats or disable that option. Another idea is managing boats in groups where you can activate this function in only that group, in case some inactive guy in the tribe want to have a boat never use full manned. It would be nice if you could set different policys to NPC over a boat, NPC on the island just standing doing nothing, and NPC on managed puckles, canon or swivels on land. I will really appreciate if an admin at least read it an consider it. I think this will help small tribes that have a shortage of man power to defend against megas. Also another incentive of going to take an island over lawless.

As title, Please reconsider the very odd decision. To lock such a staple item in a sea-based game behind end game.bosses, all this leads to is a lot of players not able to access a large amount of game content, For pve players the more content they have the longer they will stay around, are u going to lock end game dungeons behind some odd boss kill or collection of 1000 keys from the kraken? No then why lock the sub away from a high proportion of the player base One thing I have also noticed is a lot of players especially pve just wait for a kraken attempt and hang about outside the barrier to unlock the sub, is this good game design? No And before all the usual get a group and do the kraken arrive , its possible to do yes ,but not everyone has the time to build the necessary ships and have the gold to crew it, and organise an event, they may also have trouble in social situations, Tldr: reconsider the sub locked behind kraken

I drive a galleon and do resource transports and I have absolutely no issue with the wind, wind speed, sailing speed or weight impacting my ship's movement speed. Because I plan accordingly and know how my ship is supposed to work. It's called tacking and it's been a sailing mechanic for a couple thousand years.
  9. 1 point
I just repeat what I said in my feedback thread (and few post above): Right now it's totally wrong because wind just slowly rotates clockwise and rise and cut it strength. The problem with long half-atlas sailing - during your long journey it will cut it strength to calm. And will turn to a counter-wind. No mater from where you start. To were you sail. You will anyway experience calm and counter-wind. Should we ANYWAY experience these? I'm not sure. Should we enjoy this kind of game experience? Well... from start it might be cool in some ways. Imagine you spent 9 hours playing: - 20 minutes for voyage prep. - 5 minutes for 1st treasure. - 10 minutes for 2nd treasure. - 15 minutes for 3rd treasure. - 8 hours and 10 minutes of pure sailing. You just sitting and watching ocean and push few buttons occasionally (my bro, for example, watching twitch on 2nd display). Now imagine you spent 800 hours playing. 90 of these for things in game (treasure digging, base/ship building etc), and 710 hours - just watching ocean? 710 hours of nothing! If I would do the game - I personally would compress all map by up to 33%. Long journey must be here, and long water distances as well as some space for sea battles. But decrease one way traveling time from 3 hours to 2 hours (from 2 hours to 1 hour 20 minutes, from 1 hour to 40 minutes) - would be really great! Wind must NOT rotate. I would love to see it blows just one way for some time. After that - it randomly changes it direction to some amount (small turns will happen more often then big ones. And limit big ones to some angle... for example 70 degrees). So you see it direction and plan your journey knowing - it will be somewhere this way. Calms and hurricanes should lands occasionally. Most of time wind strength should be average. And of course - something must be in the ocean. Right now we have just few samples of random weather, SqotDs, Whales and few traders ships. There must me way-way more. - More living world. Some traffic, military squadrons, trading convoys, even NPC pirates! Maybe small quests in the sea (like escort or pick passengers from shipwreck to closest island). - More nature - maybe some triangle formation birds. st. Elmos fires before storms. Water streams. I would came with more ideas if there was not too late in my city (1.am atm).

Quite sure not many people are sailing and truly understand how slow this game is. I logon and wind is in wrong direction. Great news 8 knots speed for me....twice as long to get to a tile. I like to play 4 hours in the evening but this mechanic just means I cannot do anything. The player count keeps dropping and now below 1k on NA pvp. Everyone moans about this being a pirate game but no one is on the seas..... I wonder why. Not one person wants to drive our boats because of how sucky it is due to slow frustrating mechanics. BUMP PLEASE do something before player count hits 0

I'd like to have a PvP engagement without a damn storm ruining it. I went 4 days without engaging another ship because they all ran and I intercepted a galleon last Saturday night. I was turning to cut it off when the storms started up. I was surrounded by storms and took a ton of damage. Lost 4 planks and nearly grounded my damn brig as it was a wall of tornadoes. Could not see a damn thing. The weather in this game does not add to the ambiance. It does not make the game feel real or draw one into it. What it does do is piss everyone off and make you want to hurl your computer out the damn window. I'd be happy if it was removed from the game. At the worst it needs to be a rare event. So many fun engagements ruined by this weather. I am engaged with another human being. I want my ship build and skill versus them. I do not want a random event changing all that. I am getting angry just thinking about it. UGH!

I just ram them with my Galleon at 15 kts if they get in my way. Hilarious how the little schooner types respond like a heavy 16 ball smashing through those 10 pins. Rammed one last night it didn't get a shot off, just sat there in confused shock whilst the crew peeled themselves of the walls...

I got 9 stars last night... Ended up with a buff duration of ~2 hours. 2 hours isn't bad for 45 seconds of self mutilation playing the mini game lol (ok it's not THAT bad, but, i do have a tough time spotting the stars that pop up like hydrogen whack-a-mole)

The whole sailing part turned into an annoying, horribly inaccurate weather simulation. Especially the Zero wind events make no sense. Staring at a completely flat sea while snailing through a sector. Very engaging gameplay. There was a game called Naval Action. See how it worked out for them.

After a while I going to write some marks about the game I put in my notepad. More to come I guess. 1) - Not sure why DEVs removed alphas from Lawless, but I sometimes miss it. First our base (before wipe) we had to create defense lines, swivels, walls against them, and we had to communicate our neighbors to warn or ask for help (It's really grows friendly atmosphere in area). Right now they are gone, and this aspect of game within lawless guys is gone too. 2) - I built a Legendary Shipyard. So right now I have to guess how many more lvl to my ship is added right? And yeah - all blueprints has their different stats, randomly generated and I once got mythic cannon with beyond imagination 100% damage. Does it work this way with shipyards? Maybe I built legendary one and it has a lot of health and +0 to max ship lvl??? : )) 3) - Rope ladders work worse and worse every day. Right now I can successfully climb just one time from around 20-30 attempts. Most of time my pathfinder climb not up and down but forward and backward on a sea lvl. Sometimes after he moves forward and hit lower plank with his head he warp to the deck. Imagine - I run from angry bloody alpha lion, I'm about to be safe, I just need one jump and one climb. And I jump, I clinging to the ladder, and instead climbing I start to move around it... Lion was happy, he tied apron, put fork and knife from his pocket then ate me. 4) - Forest green dye still doesn't work. 5) - When I first went to battle mission I realized that my cannonballs trajectories (those white bow lines with circles at the end) are gone. So now I don't understand - how to perform sea battles. Before that I was able to shoot ahead, to aim correctly. Now I just see the only marker, which is attaching to enemy ship. Is this a bug? Or this trajectory is switched off? Or maybe it's somewhere in skills? Is there a way to bring it back? UPD: I resloved this. DEVs just changed buttons, so they now within LMB Hold. 6) - I also noticed that sometimes equilibrium buff goes through the border. Sometimes it doesn't. Any information - why it sometimes stays there, after a crossing? 7) - Not sure about you guys, but I found really annoying going for treasure to the grids where are couple of similar island located. It's just another way to waste your time, go ashore, run to treasure location, realize - it's on the different island, then run back and sail there. Good thing if location is visible from the ground - sometime it's on the highest monstrous cliff, that you can not climb that easily. So you spend a hour or so to climb there, to see - there is noting. I wish, there would be at least some marks in map - to which island I should go...

Currently you only have very small 1x1 or super large (8x12?) walls. Add more variety (2x2, 3x3,4x4) to that, so large player Structures won't create insane load on the Hardware or denied at all due to reaching the structure limit. Oh, and the same for ceilings ( and perhaps Floors?) too.

A large island changed origin and needs wiped and repositioned. check the grid editor bug reports for details. The western tundra powerstone island was stripped bare and needs wiped and replaced with the eastern tundra version. You will still have the old claim flag system - it defaults to empires so only the timer changed. With admins and rules the old system worked very well. Quests are revised and new. add New trenches. add New eastern tundra. replace all the biome templates reposition your npc ship paths. lock all your old islands, and hope the island editor does not move them anyways causing them to wipe. We ended up pasting new stuff manually using text editor. Freeport spawns are screwed up if you had non freeport islands mixed in, there is a workaround. The editor has issues making duplicated ids that need hand worked around Old characters will be hobbits and need wiped and releveled if that annoys the player. We have spent a month working on it with the goal not to wipe. Lots of testing. You best bet is to join the Atlas Server Owners Support discord (unofficial). There are still people in there trying to get their servers working.

I’ve noticed this too, many unclaimed larger islands. However, all the small islands were all snatched up in the first 24 hours. I think this tells you how few larger companies exist compared to small groups and solos. I am not sure if the large groups actually committed to claiming several small islands like you suggest, but it is possible. I will say that I don’t remember the point system being added until after the PTR. On the PTR you could claim any island you wanted as long as you could afford the upkeep, company size didn’t matter. Not sure if it’s really all that necessary. I mean if you want to restrict solos from claiming large islands, wouldn’t you also want to prevent large companies from taking “solo” islands. The system completely ignores that. I think that a stout upkeep cost is really all you need. If you can afford, say, 1200g per day to upkeep an island does it really matter if you are solo or not? If you do really want to keep the system maybe it needs some tweaking like... at a certain company size you have a range, for example your 12 person company can claim an island in the 35-90 range. You address both ends of the spectrum this way. 40 player company can claim in the 60-150 range, etc.

Rescues crew is actually copies of yourself from when you use the fountain of youth. They're all old because the copies are being ferried around on ships of the damned for punishment on how much of a dick you were ruining those bat's sleep. There is no retirement in the atlas. There is only victory (none existent), old age or replication and eventual death.

Can confirm the crew will take gold from resource boxes outside of boats too. We've had some suggestions such as allowing gold to be siphoned from claim flags to pay crew, something we're still on the fence about at the moment.

Crabs are OP in pvp right now. Able to pick riders, jump away to heal, pick balista npcs. Not much you can do but try to suicide barrel bomb or crab vs crab. This crab is ridiculous the way it just jumps out of danger 10,000 feet + 1000s of hp, they are really too much for this game considering there is no counter. This is a copy paste from ark and out of balance with atlas mechanics.

There is always someone bigger and better in a PvP game. Lets say you will have a limit of 20. That means YOUR company will be the biggest and considered "zerg". What is the difference then? You won´t "bully" tribes of 2-3 people just like that mega is bullying you? Because for 2-3 people tribe you will be the same as the mega is for you.
  47. 1 point
Limit was just annoying for megas, they still played together. They will always find a way. Stop pretending they won´t They will create 2-3 companies and thats it. We are not a mega, we have about 45-55 members (not online, just members) and it was really annoying.

Well, we had an alpha wolf eating our stuff THROUGH a wall last night, it killed my buddy whilst he used a smithy. In the end, we were in our building, and wolfy head was sticking through destroying everything it could get it's phased teeth into. So standing just out of reach, we both piked the idiot to death, through the wall. Two sides to a knife I guess. Would absolutely suck for tames to be killed like this though.. Wild animals should not SPAWN anywhere near structures though.

Cobra's were fine, but now they're phasing through our stone wall perimeter and almost through the stone wall to our barn. Almost lost all our tames to bullshit. They definitely need to get tweeted again.
