2 pointsExplore Atlas - Resource & Creature index I've been working on an index for documenting accurate resources and other information on regions & islands in a user-friendly format. Feel free to give it a go and let us know your feedback in Discord! https://exploreatlas.co.uk. I'm looking for explorers to contribute their findings and help grow this to be an informative and awesome community-based website. If anyone is interested; feel free to join our discord! 2 pointsIt is highly debatable whether established companies like Grapecard should be allowed to sell access to games in stages of development that for most of the industries existence paid beta testers were used to iron out the sorts of issues you're complaining about. What isn't debatable is that you were warned in advance of purchase that this game was 2 years of development away from being considered a finished product and issues such as this should be expected to arise during gameplay. That is what Early Access means. "Caveat Emptor" let the buyer beware means your foul mouthed short tempered table flipping rant is not a legitimate complaint as posed, but rather yet another in a long list of people complaining because they couldn't or wouldn't take responsibility to understand what they were purchasing prior to doing so and set expectations properly. Sympathy for such behavior is minimal.

2 pointsLook guys, it’s really pretty simple. Atlas was never going to be just a pirate game in the same way that Ark was never just Dino’s. Yet there is a certain segment of the playerbase that likes to insist this is the case in the face of definitive evidence to the contrary. These people buried their head in the sand and insisted the devs “ruined” Ark by shoehorning Tek in after the fact, ruining their enjoyable Dino game and justifying their table flipping. In doing so they willfully ignored the giant floating obelisks in the sky and the decidedly not primitive implant in their wrist which is literally the very first thing any player sees when spawning in. These things were in the game from day one and proof Ark was never just Dino’s. In the same vein folks are now insisting Atlas is being ruined by magic, steampunk, torpedos, submarine etc etc. Anyone is entirely free to dislike these game elements. They are also free to quit playing because of that dislike. What they aren’t free to do is claim they were misled about what Atlas would be. The description on the steam store page makes it clear this isn’t just pirates. For anyone failing to read the store page thoroughly and comprehend correctly what it meant, the flying ship on these forums masthead, the hydra, cyclops and other fantasy creatures featured in the game’s pre launch trailer are hard to miss. tl:dr version: You don’t have to like it, just don’t piss and moan all over my leg and tell me it’s the devs making it rain when they said it would be sunshine. The facts are not in your favor.
-
2 pointsIt means that you have 25 diffrent kind of ressources in the flag. Take out as example the wood and u see it goes down to 24. It's like the numbers on a storage as example 0/25.
-
2 pointsI can't believe this is still an issue. I'm not one to defend the devs but its been clear from day one that Atlas is NOT a 17th century pirate game. Simply reading the entire Steam page would have revealed that its a sci-fi fantasy game... and that more advanced technology was going to be part of the game eventually. Now, you may not like that but that's what Atlas is and has always been. Perhaps you should have done the responsible thing and read the entire store page before you bought the game... because if all you wanted was a realistic pirate sim, you bought the wrong game.
-
2 pointsExcept the largest group has left the game. What you have left is what the devs have been catering to.
-
2 pointsThe game is not set on Earth, so these are not conventional pirates. What lore I have seen refers to an advanced civilization that lost a lot of technology, but which is slowly going to recover it. From the Atlas Wiki: "Long-ago, far above the watery world of ATLAS there once existed a magic-powered “Golden Age”-- where great Empires of the Sky lived at peace alongside magical creatures, flourishing upon floating continents above the clouds, all powered by a magical source of energy known as the Heart of the Goddess, granted by the powerful beings who dwell in the stars beyond...." and the final bit... "If the latest generation of Pathfinders can outwit and outgun Xevos and his legions, and recover the Heart pieces for themselves, they will be faced with the very same choice: whether to attempt to restore the old world, or build a new better one…" So, you have two choices - learn to like it or change games, essentially.
-
2 pointsDipshits don't have to buy early access games. Even if they can't read the disclaimer. This has been a constant in gaming for a while now. If you want to be pissed of about games that have bugs or missing features! Go buy Anthem. That's a full release apparently.

1 pointI reported this day 1 to the team, i was hoping it was fixed, our server private is currently down due to changes and i dont care to keep testing exploits but the new updates messed up the collision of objects to close to each other. Please revisit this and force all cannons to be deleted asap. No left over ships plz. Official or unofficial doesnt need to lose people for exploiting when its in the game. @Jatheish

1 pointI really don't see a downside yet to owning an island. Before the patch with random claims, I would go from island to island never finding a single spot that I could claim for my own. Now, I'm seeing islands that haven't been claimed yet. Before the patch, I was on lawless, having 4 day decay timers before random players could destroy anything I built. It meant I had to log in once every 4 days. Now, I own an island and have enough gold to cover 22 days. Perhaps I'm playing the game wrong, but owning an island on PvE is pretty sweet.

1 pointHello Eveyone, Please make it possible to kill the giant crab. I would suggest to make bad again something like a ballistic or fire. adding a tameable creature in the game the is almost invulnerable is not a good game design guys. This might come as a surprise to you, but it should really not. You might also want to fix so it can not jump men it has to much weight on it! Best Regards Shepard

1 pointFYI I made a mod for our server to pre-unlock the missing powerstones from our grid, if it is useful for anyone: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1723577244

1 pointI'm not a fan either. I mean can the atlas tab have everything revealed and the map show where we've been?
-
1 pointLike I said before this is ark. Tek is the last thing needed to become completely ark. laughing at the people giving excuses for putting tek in a pirate game. Yeah. It’s ark. If he doesn’t want ark he shouldn’t be playing this

1 pointTwo days ago i was not able to craft wood ceilings. Login/logout won't do. I tried to fast travel from one bed (region A) to another (region B) and back to original region. I was able to craft again. Seems sometimes moving to other region/server would reinitialize things. At least that worked for me.

1 pointWill there be any changes to the Player Shop ? While the idea is good but it is being held back by its unnecessary steep upkeep cost and auto-destruct in 2 days , i would love to see player shop being available anywhere . Will you change the crew recruitment ? Like only need to pay them 1 time only but at higher cost . Can you change animal breeding to only affect by temperature and not biomes ? My bear tamed in Tundra yet i can't breed it because wrong biomes .
-
1 pointThe torpedo, the submarine, the gears on the hook skin, the steam boat NPC with wheels on the sides.... For me, the game is clearly aimed at a future steampunk aesthetic. And i love it.

1 pointThe game is currently a lawless meta I will make a video about it eventually. ~Lotus
-
1 pointNah it's got nothing to do with age, just people have different interests. Not every game is for everyone.
-
1 pointIt would be very nice if you devs would try and keep the game a little bit true to the era. Is this game really just gonna turn into Ark 2? I'm sure a lot of us would prefer pirate related content. Anything else takes away from the immersion. How about keeping that stuff set aside for a dlc so everyone is not forced to play with it.
-
1 pointIt is true that you will cater to the largest group, but it is also true that largest group were individuals and small casual tribes.
-
1 pointLasers, yey! “Will you restore old tech and evolve?” Guess we shall. Pirate game? Guess you can roleplay a space pirate soon.
-
1 pointIt is not a “pirate” game. It is a snadbox survival steampunkish game in a marine world resembling renaiscance europe. Featuring some pirate costumes, so what.
-
1 pointThat is funny isnt it? but the wiki isnt suppose to be correct, i was told in another thread... Its a pirate game, it is not a pirate game.. Well to be honest its whatever is thrown at us game. That's the way i take it now. ARK tree was like that too, i for sure swore this wasn't ARK... damn was i fooled. Same concept, same team, same thinking. I wonder what the wild west holds? robots?
-
1 pointI feel your pain mate. If I had a piece of gold for every time i was jettisoned.... Had I spent so much time on that ship and crew - I would be gone for good until they fix it. Luckily I never sail into battle alone. So my mate can evade the SotD while I try to get onboard again.
-
1 pointEr, yes they do. Check the Wiki, then maybe go away and find the historical pirate simulation you are looking for. This isn't it.
-
1 pointThe very last line of patch "the Hoppening patch 101.1" reads thus: "- Updated creature breeding biome tags so that creatures can always be bred in biomes they're found in" At least in region L6 (lawless, Tropical) this does not apply. We've been trying to breed both chickens and cattle, both of which we caught on the island "Mangate Skerry," and both keep saying that it is an unsuitable biome.
-
1 pointWhy do they cave in and listen to large groups? Money that's why. You setup a business and there's 3 groups of people outside, each damanding different things, you're gonna go with the largest group. Everytime. Otherwise your business will fail. Or progress very slowly. imo
-
1 pointFor dedicated server owners, can we have options with end game settings so we don't have to always keep expanding grids for each new quest line. (ie; submarine was not unlockable without adding 9 trenches). At this rate only servers with more than 20 grids will be able to experience stuff, leaving out smaller servers.
-
1 pointUnofficial server bug where people who build ship using non common ship yards (mythic large shipyard) are having their ship xp capped at different levels, my server we had lvl 24 and lvl 26 ships that couldnt lvl any further. No ship xp ini code or anything like that is in place.
-
1 pointAre we getting the skin as said for the players who played prewipe?
-
1 pointTorpedos? Thats something I havent expected in a pirate game. How about some more "pirate" related content? When can we start building the Nautilus? Well im curious what other surprises wait for us in the may-mega-update.

1 pointGreetings Shipmates! With the upcoming mega patch I know many of you are looking for a new community to call home. [A1] is a community a cut above the rest with a unique map design that has something for everyone. Are you looking to be a Pirate who terrorizes the seas and lives on their ship? We have you covered! Are you looking to be a Merchant who seeks out the rarest materials and opens up a trading port? We have you covered! Are you looking to be a Mercenary who builds an epic fortress and lays siege to your enemy’s bases? We have you covered there too! At [A1] we have implemented a groundbreaking map design and faction system. Our 7 x 7 world includes multiple Golden Age Ruins so all power stones are obtainable, a zone for the Kraken, Lawless zones, PvE territories, and PvP regions. Our faction system consists of 3 individual groups. Merchants (PvE), which are your more traditional PvE role, will spawn with 20% more carry weight and intelligence. Mercenaries (PvP), which are your traditional PvP role, spawn with 20% more HP and Stamina. Pirates (Lawless PvP), which live on ships or on land that is claimless in Lawless regions spawn with 50% more Oxygen capacity and Gold Find as well as 20% higher Melee. -
0 pointsYou need to make sure you use the correct island spawn, There is very few. As well as Click the box for home server, and Spawn Regions you need to make them to that grid.
