ive seen them break in front of me while be logged in for a few hours. its not when the area was refreshing. it was already loaded, i was building another structure 8 tiles away and put down a piece and saw a wall come break apart. and another time saw ceilings fall down. there has always been adequate pillar support for my builds.

directly behind the 2nd building that is behind the 1st building. theres a valley behind the second building. if you walk to the left of the 2nd building, theres a valley behind it with the tunnel at the end. if you walk to the right of the left building, you can drop down right above the tunnel.
