    Tavern. Let us build a simple building, like a tax bank, where we can place gold and food. Make it cover the island, just like the flag does, and feed/pay all manned crew. If you want to get really fancy, make it possible to "hire" crew every once in a while, just like a freeport vendor. For the love of god, it would make this game 10x better overnight. We spend HOURS a day running around trying to feed/pay crew, and going to the freeport to replace them. I can't explain how big of a deal this would be. Please.

    ♥ For 1453 hours, I have played this game in PvP. As we know, this game is a pirate game but after a new patch, again and again, It seems to me that devs tend to focus on updating new content mainly in new tamed and environment instead of ship updating. I would like to discuss about the new contents that I want to see. Let's talk about design first. I would like to see the developers introduce new various ships to fulfil different purposes for players like Caravel for discovery, Indiaman for cargo, Privateer, Frigate, Ship of the line for battle and adding more sails as well. The ship's sails and ship appearance in this game are really annoying to me. Look at Brigantine for example. Most players often attach three speed sails on it and make the ship looks like the kind of weird. There's should have had sails like Spirit sail at the ship's bow and Spraker sail at the stern that can increase ship speed as the rest too. Not to mention the captain's cabin at the stern that is empty, no windows and no big company's flag. Next, we should be able to board the enemy ship and capture it in a short amount of time like 10 minutes when a ship is unanchored but we have to wait more than 8 hours to claim which is really suck. And some good news from the last patch, there's spear bolt which can pull enemy ship but a ship can still fire to each other. If a ship can't fire when spear bolt pulling it, that's mean the boading enemy ship will be easier and it's possible to capture it. And the last point is NPCs that can't do anything more than a mindless robot. It made the game lifeless. This game should categorize NPCs to many occupations such as crew NPCs for mounting canon and controlling sails, pirate NPCs that can board the enemy ship, etc. Moreover, at the Freeport there should be NPCs roaming around like a real port city and some of them can ask players for doing quests. And it is going to be better if there're NPCs cargo ship sailing across between different Freeport or even NPCs pratol ship that can be plundered by players to get foreign materials. But for now, we have to bear with a boring long haul journey to get materials for the blueprint. I hope that this game can be better when it comes out from early access ♥ PS: Don't mind my English skill xD

    First, welcome to the boards. Second, your english is unquestionably better than my command of whatever your native tongue might be, so no worries there. (If it happens to be French I could ask a waiter to bring me a shoe with cheese on it, but that's about it.) Third and most important, your post is high quality feedback, exactly what this game and development team need to make it better, so thank you for taking the time and effort to write it out and share it with everyone.     He's pointing out a very valid point, that although you can Google what the actual upkeep is, your lack of play experience leaves you lacking context as to what that means in terms of an actual burden. There is relevant information to understanding the true cost of upkeep in context that does not lend itself to being Googled. The reason people keep pointing out that you don't own and play the game yet is because you keep insisting on commenting on things where your lack of play experience makes your comments meaningfully off base or incomplete in some fashion.

    you should not have to motivate yourself to play a game, the game should be motivating YOU to play. save yourself the grief, get in the dingy and row away from this sinking ship. They need a wipe with a whole new idea of how the game should be. my advice has always been make everything like lawless and scrap the claim system. oh yea and 5 man groups with 1 or no allies allowed. now that is what most people would want. btw I have been playing war/strategy games for over 40 years I started on Atari 2600 and I have over 1000 hrs in atlas.

    Umm...the Eve they were referring to is one of the longest running, most well established MMO's in the industry. My guess is the steam charts show you only the players accessing Eve through steam, which in Eve's case is a minority. As noted on Eve's wikipedia page (maybe one of the first places you should have looked when researching the game), players can access Eve through steam or the game's own website directly. You should also note the chart on the wikipedia page tracking Eve's alltime subscriber base, which shows a peak of half a million in 2013 and steady increase from launch to that point. I would also point out that the wikipedia page notes that PC Gamer ranked Eve #12 on it's list of 100 greatest video games of all time in 2013. This is a good example of why you should be careful not to make assumptions about things you are not really well informed about as this post does not come across well in that regard.

    I am so unenthusiastic about the next "mega" update. Single player? meh. Seahorses? another tame. It just doesn't seem very mega. Government systems would be nice. More ships and better things to do with them. Better components for building things, especially if they're scaled to humans rather than a T Rex. I feel the tames are being tossed out a bit like fluff. Same with offering skins all the time. But it's old fluff. I like fluff as much as the next person, but let's have some new kinds of it. Paints that work. Fabric components for building. Plants that can be placed. Or rather than armor skins let's have some new , master crafted armor that actually looks good. I'm wearing the ugliest fur coat I've ever seen in my life right now. Discoveries would be more exciting if there was actually something there to discover. Something funny, something worth some gold, something unique...not just a text roll with "A good way to sneak" written on it. Hell, even geocaching prizes would be an improvement. The ability to attach one item to a note would enable a worldwide enterprise - Atlas Mail - Let's go Postal (tm). How about being able to build a dock where you can actually dock a ship? (And not have it look like a cement runway. I can provide real pictures of docks if needed) Fixes to ongoing annoying bugs. How about making the landlord destroy window a week like it should have been? Can't wait to see people coming back from vacations and losing it over their island being turned into bed city. And yes, ships. More ships, real ships, better ships and better sailing.

    Sorry for your loss, that is a painful investment for zero benefit. It hasn't been working for over 2 months now. They barely acknowledge it, and certainly don't go out of their way to publicize it in anything like a "known issues list". Whether it is a bug or a design decision, I can't understand why they don't simply modify the blueprint information to reflect the current issue to protect innocent bystanders like yourself from having a truly bad realization after it is too late.

    well done grapeshot, you officially broke the game, cannons don't work on army of the damned anymore, think about it, A massive cannon ball, a ball of steel fired right at the undead doesnt work... but little baby pallets fired out of a blunderbuss does?? the bear cannon is now worthless in pve. why not fix the treasure maps instead of nerfing the entire game, and effectively breaking it for a lot of players i assume... make the treasure maps give less xp or make the army of the damned harder, sommething like that. but no you decided to make the cannons worthless against the army of the damned, this is the most stupidist thing in the entire history of game "fixes"

    Hello Guys, I have recently become the cook in the corp and i have noticed that the foods don't give the vitamins they show? an good example of this is that the Fish and chips should be giving Orange and blue but for some reason it only gives blue vitamin In the corp we have to eat berries right now because there are no player food that really gives the orange vitamin. What has happened with this? Is it because the indicators on the food wrong? o/ Shepard

    Sure thing buddy. That int nerf sucks. But heres a protip, this is a MMO. Let me spell that out for ya: Massively Multiplayer Online. Cant wait for all the whining and bitching about how you cant do GROUP content in SINGLE player (without cheats). None of the announced M3 patch (nothing "mega" about it) is aimed at "mega"comapanies

    No, no idea where that comes from I still have the starter Sloop and it didn't move or raise the anchor since launch, just fast travelled to the bed every few days. Would be a pain if you would have to raise the anchor everytime...

    Please cite for me the passage of the game’s terms of service or code of conduct which forbids altering of gamma settings or could reasonably be construed as doing so. If not, then we aren’t talking about the developers definition of cheating, we are talking about yours. Since we’re not talking about your game, players can and should feel free to agree with or ignore your arbitrary declaration that such behavior is cheating at their own discretion, since arbitrary imposition of your belief on others is something we frown upon in free societies.

    That is exactly why it is cold and hard! if you trek to the North be very well prepared and also be ready to adapt! The North should be exactly like it is. 60 fortitude also helps

    According to you too grindy = bad Not a big deal = too easy (bad) And your metric for this knowledge is what people here post.(not the most reliable of sources) I put it to you that if some find it grindy and others find it "no big deal", maybe it's in an Ok place. If you think island ownership should have no cost, that is just lazy and just a little entitled. All that aside, the devs have voiced a few things they were to introduce, like structure upkeep and decay that varies from lawless to settled islands, as it stands the difference is minimal. Once these things (if ever) make it into the game, we will have a better handle on the costs of living in lawless, being a tennant or owning an island. At this point, with what is possibly only partialy what the devs intend for the game, criticising it either way is pretty pointless. What we could do with is more communication from the devs as to what direction they intend for this aspect of the game.

    Man, ‘the truth’ is that this game’s community before its launch was around 10-15K, then it exploded because of the streamers. That 58K is definitely not representative in any way. Get over it.

    What fun! Let’s do some more: Lebron James was still a month away from being drafted. Tom Brady had only been to one Super Bowl. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince hadn’t yet been published. A Feast for Crows, the fourth book in George RRRR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, had yet to be published and no one had even thought about making it into the most watched tv show in history yet. Dammit George finish it! Youtube didn’t exist yet. Neither did Facebook. The term social media had yet to be coined. World of Warcraft was still a year away from launch.

    Honestly No the game has not improved, they claimed they were going to make it more cooperation focused and more friendly to smaller company's! They advertised this fact and then did a bait and switch... The old server were the Giant Mega's was shut down, they wanted the new claim rules that was put on the new server designed for smaller company's... After they left the old server it was deserted and not worth keeping open so it got shut down! Then they demanded the rules that were put in place to keep Mega's from being a thing in the new server be changed and grapeshot relented breaking its promise to make a new server for small company's and everything went back to the way it was before, with the giant mega company's bullying and pushing the smaller company's off there land. So no the game hasn't really changed, the claim system changed but the game at its base is exactly the same! Not worth playing....

    Sure maps are a great way to get XP , but passed level 80 it starts to get ridiculous. I've moved only a small fraction of the bar in 2 weeks since we've been doing powerstones and now essences. And then when 2x is up if you're not marathon running maps (journeyman or above) you're not even going to budge it. Farming / hunting literally amounts having to kill let's see something like 8000 animals at lvl 80. Not asking for easy levels by any means but activities that aren't maps need to have a benefit to level as well. Even just adding some to sailing would be tremendous since we do spend a good amount of time at sea. Or if maybe I'm just missing a good way to level let me know.

    On the one hand, there is part of me that wants to argue the exploration and gathering of materials from geographically diverse locations IS part of the content. On the other, too many of the islands are cookie cutter and the underlying systems which require the far flung mat gathering are too simplistic and optional (Cooking could be amazing but thus far can be bypassed with little downside). Certainly running around paying and feeding tames and crew members can hardly be regarded as quality content, so in the end I have to agree. They are producing *some* content, but not at a rate that gives the impression there will be a compelling amount of it a year and a half from now.

    I think they call it a mega update because it just helps the Megas really. No actual balancing. Sure nerfing , but if you have noticed there hasn’t been one single nerf that actually affected Megas. Smh

    Before Realist trys to kill more People Who Want to Return, hes Not even playing the Game. The upkeep isorwtty cheap imo. We have a Medium sized Island Which is really huge And Pay 320 Gold every 12 hours ( 19 hours with settlers ) so a few Maps on x2 Weekends And youre good.

    There is no doubt that a wild tamed bear can do mw maps, I know as I've done one or two myself, but it is hard work, I had to pull the weaker ones away, and kill them first, then I had to wait for full stamina and to push the mace aod into a rock so I could pin them and kill them with the damage buff, which was slow going. But to claim to do this regularly.. given the locations of most mw maps, given the probability of getting yourself killed mw maps are not easy and people should not be making these false reports that they are. A skilled player can do them, there are plenty of skilled players in atlas. But most are just avg joes and it is very unfair to expect people who do not buy bears who don't breed them or aren't in megas to be subjected to a nerfed game which makes their game insanely hard. That said, it was also necessary for the devs to remove the exploitation of aod and maps by people who essentially cheat to play and play to cheat. Unfortunately, these people are more prevalent in the game than people might expect. Most people, myself included will use any exploit of the terrain and game mechanics to win. We need to be limited in our exploits. Personally, I try to only use majority exploits available to all, ie I won't use gamma exploit to see in the dark.. I won't use signs to block aod progress or spam aod traps with cannons. etc. But others will and they are the ones to blame for the devs nerfing the game. So shame on those of you who have caused this. It will be nice to see armoured groups doing maps and killing aod again. Like we did in the start, before we even discovered the regen of bears.

    UPDATE I managed to log in today. I kept getting an error message, "Host Pending Connection Timeout" and the game would go unresponsive in task manager. So I have been closing it out and go on to other things. Today I decided to wait. And after about 30 seconds, I got into the game. When I logged out, I noticed the rejoin atlas option available again.

    You are meant to spend hours on "meaningless" tasks. If keeps you from realizing that there is no content really to speak of. If you didn't have to make a celery run every two weeks, what else would you have to do?

    **UPDATE** I waited until the game pushed an update for ending 2x, I selected "Join New Atlas" and did NOT create a new character, just joined, and my character was there!!! Yey!! Good luck, guys!! Just make sure to not click create new character for the server you were in and hopefully it will work for you, too!

    Yeah, stop introducing stupid creatures that no one cares about or that can be abused. I would also like to see new ship types and sails. If you make more creatures then make small stuff like more fish, dogs, cats and donkeys. That are creatures that makes sense in the pirate setting. There is also different types of parrots, just saying I would also like to say that pvp is obnoxious with the stupid crab! Ether nerf the jump or remove it entirely. It was fun in ark but it does not work in this game, because there are no flyers you can tame. Do not add tamales flyers btw, i will leave the instant you do that and so will the rest of us (Dragon is ok, that has a time limit and take a huge effort to get!). I also agree that freeports are lifeless and needs npc's that move around and maybe give you some quest. Ships of the dammed also look lifeless and like they don't fit in to the rest of the game. You should make them look like navy or pirate ships that are in the game (Give them sails and crew plz). There could even be an island the dammed owns as their stronghold and that you could then raid. So you would have like a island dungeon that could be raided by players. There is also a idea about removing the ships of the dammed completely and making npc colonies that have there own banner and everything. You would then be fighting them instead. I think that might improve the them of the game. You could make cargo ships drop there loot and some crew after loosing hp to 30% of health, so you don't have to kill them if you don't want to. There is a big difference between a pirate and a marauder. oh, also there is no reason for npc ships to sail in circles. You should make them patrol around the whole grid as a small fleet and stay in a formation so they don't bump in to each other I know this is a lot to take in but we are trying to give you some feedback to improve your game. That was some of the stuff that has been making me a little disappointed with the game after 1352 hours of pvp game play I have other ideas to, like i love the new pvp colonies system but would like to adjust the combat timer to 7 hours. Just so people don't have to hurry home form work so much. Animals also do not need to not get stuck on everything (Rocks, trees, bad mesh, plants) and when you run a bigger animal in to a smaller animal you should push away the smaller animal. I don't need my rhino to set stuck on a turtle.. plz Treasure maps can and should not be berried on top of a stone, there has to be soft ground! or else you are just pulling a chest out of a rock and that looks really bad. I think that was the most important stuff i could think of, please keep up the amazing work.

    My issue is using the words game breaking. Its not. Game breaking means the game cannot be played. The game crashes non-stop. Boats don't sail. XP does not work. Tames/tools cannot farm. That is game breaking. Taking one avenue away when there are others to do the same thing is NOT game breaking. That is waaaahhhhh I like doing it that way and now I have to do it a different way. People complaining that it could have been done differently are absolutely correct. It can be handled differently and there are some good measured responses to that. Saying the game is ruined are just cry babies and get no sympathy from me. Its not helpful and does not improve the game by throwing a tantrum about it.

    Yeah great idea, block content for average players behind a tame you need a submarine to get. Because all the beach Bob's have access to submarines and have all power stones and killed the kraken. Of course, everyone do that in week one after they finish their huts, tame a crab to do a freaking mw map. Whats the next "mega downgrade" for the weekend? stone buildings are locked until you clear the ice dungeon. Or something like tier 2 tames do 0 damage to AoD. Maybe AoD only receive damage from "INSERT LATEST TAME HERE" that no one asked for.

    The cargo racks overcome their speed penalty at a very low weight. I find it super useful to carry 700 building pieces and be faster then the guy with 150 and no rack.

    In PVE you can't remove a "structure" from a cargo saddles. Can't damage it, can't demolish it. Nothing. This makes abandoned animals of middling use, if you don't get full ownership of the animal and its cargo. I would have expected the cargo box transfers upon cleaning. But that isn't the case.
