Community Patch V25.2 (Fixed a lot of Text Errors , Added some Pictures ) -New Feature 1.Crew Manager -Renamed the "Tame Group" Button to "Crew Manager" Crew Manager checks now the area around you for animals, crewmember and useable Object and bring it to a list where you can give orders, set behavior or mounting/dissmounting Cannons/Sails by simple clicks. No more frustating whistle´s and missclicks and wrong orders to Animals or Crew. 2.SkillBook Intoducing the new Skillbook. We add on every skill tree now unique powerfull Skill´s but know you have to choose between 3 skills(actives or passive Skills) gives you special Abilitys for this skill tree. Now you can choose strong bonus for your playstyle. In the end of every skilltree u can unlock 1 Ultimate Passive Skill give u a "Master" of this skill tree. Mastering of a Skilltree will removed the minigame from Tools or Weapon. Animals have now a small skill tree (Active Skills for the Right Attack Slot or passive Bonuses. Attack slots explained in "Combat Redesign") with his own unique skills where u can choose the Playstyle for your Animal. You can Unlock the Skills by Leveling your Pet up. If you Tamed a Higher Level Animals some skills are already Unlocked. Example Wolfs Active Skill Unlock ... [Howl] Give a Buff for 30 sec give a 5% more Dmg . Every Wolf in an area around join the Howl and Stacks the Buff to an max stack of 20% Cooldown 2 Min Bear [ Berserk ] Your Bear are in an Bloodlust for 10 Sec. The Single Target Bite gives now a chance of an Bleeding effect. Cooldown 2 min The Skills you Chose will block the Right Attack Slots you have to chose your Playstyle. -Moved a lot of "Dmg Buff or Heal Buffs from the Beastmaster Tree (i.e. Natural Touch) to the Animal Skill Trees as Unlockable Skills Add new Skilltree link<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< It´s not ready :,( 3.Simple "E" System We removed the Stupid blue weel of Disorientation and added a "Simple E" system Now every Cannon or Structure or useable Object have a simple Funktion and the "Inventory Option" If u go to the Ladder and press E you Climp up or Jump from the ladder. If u want mount a Cannon Press E and so on. Now if u want some changes on your Object like Renaming, Gear your Crew you have to Hold "E" and u see the "E" Icon fills up now its opening an Inventory with diverses options and stats from that Object Here the Simple "Hold E" Inventory for your Tames 4.Respawn Rework -We reworked the Bedspawn system for some balance and join/immersions Improvements. Now every spawn on a Bed gives you a cooldown from 60 sec , the cooldown starting after u click the spawn Button u will be locked to that spawn and u have to wait 60 Sec befor you spawn at this Bed. But the Character will already set in the Location but is invisible and can´t move . In the 60 Sec you wait all the Structures and Object will be loaded in the Spawnloactions. No more popping in of Structures/Objects on respawn and don´t breaks the immersion anymore ... yeay If u get killed in PVP or use the Fast Travel to quick adds more Time for the Cooldown. Aaaand Sorry one more balance change we made. Fast Travel works only on the Grid you are. 5.New Render Engine System -New Render Priority In this Order Terrain, Structures and Ships, Animals, Players. Hopefully fixing the Animal falling through Bug 6.Render Improvement -Far low Level of Detail of Structures like and Shipyard or Gate are Simple Cubes and Ships with low colors and its little bit blurry. If u get in medium Range u get more level Details and if u get closer the "normal" LOD is shown. No more empty space on the horizon and close instant spawn of strucures! You can see on Top of the Mountain far Ships sailing by but not much Details only a silhouette. We hope to keep up the Immersion without Hard performance lose and u can see that Player Structures are build on an Island or not. -HUD Optimisations 1.Removed the dump Information Window when aiming an any NPC/Structure in the middle of the Screen and moved to the left Bottom as an static window. This window give you now all Important Information if you Aiming on an Object but don´t block your vision anymore. -Removed the Mortar Ammo Icon from the Ammo overview from Ships. -Ammo Overview will now shown in the Information Window -Added Health bar from the ship in the Information Window when you on the Steering Wheel -Removed the Weapon Percentage Numbers from all Weapons and gives them Hard Numbers. i.e. Sword "Damage 30". Tools keep the Effetiveness Stats. -Added a Buff Button in the Inventory near the Character Stats that shown what Buff and the Information from that Buff/Debuff. Only the Buff icons will be shown on the Bottom right in the Normal View -Healthbars from Planks only shown if you have the Repair hammer equiped -Added The Buff you get from a small animal in the Information Window(Need a Skill Unlock in Beastmaster "I know all Animals" -Added The Food Animals love (for Taming) in the Information Window (need a Skill in Beastmaster) -Removed the "Last slot for Food on Tames" and added a Food slot near the Information Window (its only will shown up if you Skill in Taming) -Added The Typ of Ressource u can harvest from Objects you aiming on in the Information Window ( in the Past it was "H") Needs a Skill to unlock in Survival Tree ( Knowlege of Ressources) -Removed the Hitmarker. If you Hit a Target the healthbar shown above the Animal/Player/Ship and shows how much Health he have left for a small time (4 Sec) (Ships Healthbar is the ammount of Health every Plank and Shipdeck have.) -Removed the Steam Name and Player on a Server from Steam integration and Join Notifications because everyone don´t like get Tracked, and the server don´t get killed by some Tracking Bots. We added the Bounty System on can set Bounty on Player Pathfinder Names/Companys -The Pathfinder Name is now YOUR Name not 123 or ???. And Your Steam Friends are not more 123 ... no more 30 friends in Steam called 123 -Change the Meele Damage percent % in Inventory to an Hard Number ( Meele Damage : 50 . Now its easyer to see how much Damage an Animal or NPC can deal. -Redesined the Crosshair´s for Range Weapons Bow have now High orientaition lines with dot´s in mid Pistols have an small white Crosshair Thounderbuster have a Cirlce Carabines a small Dot -Stats and Blueprint Redesing -Added New Stats "Damage Reduction" Armor Gives you now an Damage Reduction shown in your Character Inventory.Every Point in Fortitude gives you also a small percent Damage Reduction (Hard Caped to 30% only boostable with shields and Shield Skills) -Changed the Stats Stamina to an "Percent Stats" Easyer to Understand what is much Stamina or what is Less Stamina. Example ... Tamed a Bear with 115% Stamina or Tamed a Bear with 1234 Stamina? -Added a new Stats "Splash" Splash shown on Ammunition or AOE Attacks from Animals skills an give you an Information feedback what the Cannonball deal Splash damage or not [I.E. If you want to store an animal you have to open the Gate, ride the animal in an now you can Store it in the Stalls) Watch out an Elephant will never fit in the small Stalls -Cannon Tower (Company Unlock) -Castle (Company Unlock) -Reservoir Storage ( in the past Ressource Box, Can only placed on Foundations) -Tavern Now you can Store your NPC´ Crews but you give them Some Grog and Steak to stay in your little Clubhouse but the Goldcost are less as fuck now Small Tavern can Hold up 15 NPCs (Foundation Size 3x4) Medium Tavern Hold 40 NPCs (5x5) Large Tavern hold 150 Npcs (6x8) -Breeding Nest (small Tier 1, Medium Tier 2 , Larg Tier 3 ) We love breeding and growing up your little fluffy war pets but we chose an other way for breeding. -Removed the Biom condition of heat and cold for breeding. Now you have to build up a Breeding nest. But That your Animal realy feels like in their natural Bioms u need to fill the nest with Fibers and Thatch from the Biome where you have tamed the Animal. We reduced the breeding time to 3hour Realtime . But your Pet have to sit 12 Hours in the Nest befor the Baby animal get born. (Now Breeding is more Manageable -Cargo Dock for Ships We love the Idea of Transporting Ships, but a big empty ship with one Ressource box feels sad. Cargo Docks fill up the lower Deck from the Ships and used the same function from the Ship ressource Box before it. (Ressource Box will now slight nerved) Now u must choose between a Battle Ship with gunports or a Transport Ship. Cargo Docks will reduce the Wight of the Ressources their carry Schooner Small Cargo Dock 15 Item Slots (max Stack per Slot 10.000) Brig Medium Cargo Slot 35 Item Slots ( Max Stack per Slot 25.000) Galleon Larg Cargo Slot 75 Item Slots (Max Stack per Slot 65.000) -Animal Dock For Ships The Animal Dock´s consum the Lower Deck and comes with a Ramp for Loading in and Loading Out your Animals because we don´t allow Animals on the Topdeck anymore they are glitching to much around. On the Ships now u can Store Animals to snap point on the Ships Schooner "Small Animal Dock" Can hold [3x Tier 1] Animals or [1x Tier 2] Brigantine "Medium Animal Dock" Can hold [6x Tier 1] Animals or [3x Tier 2] or [1x Tier 3] Galleon "Larg Animal Dock" Can hold [9x Tier 1] Animals [6x Tier 2], or [3x Tier 3 Animals] -Company Archievmend Unlock´s -We removed the Sea Claims and bring a new Claim System into the Game. -Now Every Company Start with 1 Company Flag (can placed from the Company Window) for claiming a part of the Island. We increase the Size of the Circle for give some more place to build. If ur Company grows up u gain one more Company Flag . to an Max count to 50 Flags. (every 5 Players joins the Company u archieved one more unlock.) 5 Players 1 Flag 10 Players 2 Flag to an hard cap of 50 Flags/500Player) But we chose the attacking claim system whats aktuall is in the Game but you have Maintain the Company Flags If u Attack an enemy Base place a Flag(5 min Cooldown for the Attack Flag) in the Company Flag Circle the Claiming attack starts and works like the actual claim system. More Flags u have so faster is the enemy claim. So Big Companys have more space to build but loose it faster and need an active Playerbase for maintain all the Flags. Small Companys can deffend their Territory longer and have an easyer way for Maintain their Baseflag. (If you Not Maintain a Flag...Your Claim circle turns grey and your Structures will get damage over Time... so unused/Inactive island will be cleard up and give some place for new players) We added more Unlocks to the Company achievement system for give small Boosts on smaller Tribes and make the managment of an Great Tribe easyer. Players: 5 = 1 Flag 10 = 1 Flag Buffs every Player in own Territory ( Increase Health Regen. Decreased Vitamin Cost. decreased the Overwight movement penetration ) 15 =1 Flag 20 =1 Flag Unlock Taxiation Bank 25 =1 Flag ( every 5 Player one more Flag i dont counting up anymore ) 40 = Crew Cost less gold p/h in own Territory 60 = Unlock Lighthouses ( Give Buff on Anchored Ships they dont recive "Sea Dmg over Time" anymore around the Lighthouse and removed in a certain Radius the Fog of War on the Map 80 = Give Accsess to 5x Big Premade Towers with 3 Cannons Snap points (needs a 5x5 Foundation) but will Cost a lot of Stone Metall Wood and Gold Bars 100 = Give Accsess to an Big Premade Castle Give with (Needs an 20x20 Foundation) So much cost but gives your big Company a good Base deffences Structure (We make a lot of Designs we loved in the Castle so u can pick up from 3 Different Types of a Castle with his own Design) Maybe we change some achievements or give other Buffs for balance. - Redesign Golden Age Ruins We Redesign Every Gold Ruins Island to make them Funny to play and need some planing for engage them. -You choose your challenge! We removed the unused Decorations Buildings from the Island and put them together to 3 Big Castles/Caves. The Dragon Hort In north of the Island The Fountain Caves in the West of the Islands and the Powerstone Hall on East On Every Middle of the Island 1 Outside Alpha Boss will apear and every Player can engage them. But watch out, if more Player attack that Boss... Health and Damage Reduction(Hard capped to 50%) will increase. Every Dungeon are guarded by 2 Cyclops on the entrance and in the inside awaits you one Boss you have to kill to get their loooots!!!. You can´t kite these Bosses, their are in a Bossroom like in a RPG Doungen. If you Kill the Cyclops the Gate will open but their are no Tames allowed in the Dungeon. The Dungeons should be an Player VS Boss experience. (Want an Tame VS Boss? Alphas or the outside Boss is the best way for you ) From the Dragon in the Dragon Hort you have the chance to get an "EGG" you have to breed it and give´s you the Dragon for 6 Hours In the Fountain Caves a Big Gorgon awaits you for getting the Buff of Youth (like its actual in the Game) And the Powerstone Hall a Big Rock Elementar/or Fire Elementar waiting to crush you. You get the Powerstone from them. -Dinos will attack taming Structures if their are trapped -Soldiers of the Damnd are now more Trashmoob style easy to kill but a lot of them ouround the Island and in the Doungen -We Removed all "normal" high level Animals from that island and only Keep mytic creatures on the islands) -The outside NPCs have an Maxlevel from 60 now(except the Guardian Cyclops and Alpha Boss). The Inside NPCs in the Doungen have a Maxlevel to 100 now , Bosses have Level 150 -Every Boss give also a chance to drop a Mytic Blueprint -Bosses have and respawn cooldown from 6 Hours -Bosses Have an fight time like the Kraken then he goes in an enrage mode. - Creatures Redesign -Birds now fly more in the air but they have to land after a period of time "to eat or recover stamina" -Removed the Knockback and Add a "small Stun" Only Cyclops and Bosses have a small Knockback -Rihno charge Knockback removed and add a Broken Bones Debuff -Resized all Animals to smaller Natural size -Tier 3 Animals crushes Trees and Bushes and small Stones (no more Tree or Stone blocking) -Alpha keep the Actual size and the small cloud? flame? dont know what that is effect is -replaced with an Ghostship like Mytical Glow -Only one Alpha per island (Only Predators ) and 6 Hours Cooldown . If you hunt them you can loot Blueprint´s and a high ammount of Meat and Hide If you Kill the Alpha a cruel cry whisper through the Island and u get an Buff for 1 Hour that all Predators now flee from you ... har har now is our time to strike back -Creatures have now an on stand rotation . With A and D on the Keyboard these prevents the unatural movement from animals. -Fixed the Lions charge sounds and the all time charging you. -Reduced the aggro range from Predators to an more natural way. Their are more "Neutral" in medium Range but if you come to close they start Attacking you -Animals you had attacked and they can´t reach you, will now flee away -Fixed the Hitboxes and Collisions Box from every Creature -NPC´s will now pushed a little bit away from you. No more Bodyblock from the NPC´s -Crewmember can equip the Repair Hammer to give the ability to repair your ship. -Crewmember equiped with Meele weapons going in a Guard Mode with an good looking idle animation (like the British Guards from the Queen ^^ ) If an enemy Player comes in the aggro range from the NPCs the will start fighting. if the Enemy Player Flee´s or Die the Guard goes back to his guarding position. - New Combat system Simplify the combat system For Meele and Tames Every Meele weapon comes with 2 Basic attacks, with the unlock of the weapon (Fast attack low Dmg on left Mouse and a little more harder attack on right mouse but little bit higher refrese time) (You can change later in the Skilltrees the Attacks on Right mouse with different attacks or Buffs or combo attacks) -Short Meele Weapon Redesign Overview Blackjack [None Leathal path in the Meele Skilltree] Low DMG High Torpedy Knuckels[None Leathal path in the Meele Skilltree ,its a better Blackjack] Low DMG High Torpedy chance to Break Bones for Slowing your Target Daggers Fast but Low Single Target DMG With some helpfull Buffs (Poision Let the Target fall asleep Dual Wield or Throwing) Swords Medium Single Target Dmg but slower than Daggers and with a chance for Bleeding effects, or you can chose parry with your sword for a high cost of Stamina but can´t encounter an attack or combine your sword with a Shield (Shield will reduce the Movemnt Speed but give Damage Reduction and some usefull new skills) Mace Slow Single Target but high Dmg or Low AOE Dmg No parry possible Shatter The Ground and stun and Enemy for a short Time -Shields give you now a higher Aggro against NPC´s and Bosses -Shield can now cover Up from cost of Stamina with Damage Reductions -Shields gives you a movement penality New Weapon Daggers Unlock the Daggers for Fast single Target attacks Later in the Skill Tree u can choose between the Skills Poision or Throwing the Daggers or Dual Wield Throwing the Daggers Cost one Dagger Poision your Dagger and get a chance to poision your Target like Cobras but cost the right click attack. You have to activate the buff and Cost 1 Poision Glass (Crafted in Mortar and needed : Poision from toxic Animals and a bottle) Dual Wield will remove the Right Click Attack -Removed the throwing knifes skill and moved to the Dagger Skilltree -We Removed meele auto aim. -Meeleattacks are now faster but with small refreshing times Big buffs or strong skills have an cooldown. The Right click attack can be changed in the Skilltree after you unlocked them like the Skillbook. Now u can chose your playstyle with the Weapon u carry. More Like AOE Attacks? chose an AOE attack Or more Single Target with an chance for a effect like Bleeding? chose one. Or an speacial ability? Parriere with the Sword on cost of Stamina? no Problem Unlock the Skill and Drag it to the slot. -Reduce the Zoom in with the Carabine by 30 Percent and added a small swing -You can hold your breath on right click with a Carabine for a steady aim in cost of air and stamina -New Carabine Ultimate Attachment. U can attach a Spyglass with high zoom on your Carabine with an crosshair but cost the Right Click hold Breath and the Reloading time is increased - Discovery Additions If u Discover a new Island and get the Discovery now all different Ressource Types u can get from this Island whil shown on the Top Right of the Atlas map if u hovering over the Island. -Quality of Life and Game Improvements -Added fall damage for animals and fixing the speed reset by dismount in middle of the air -Animal spawnrate reduce by 60% and add a respawn cooldown. Nothing is more annoying clear the beach from animals run back to get Stuff or Crew, come back and the animals are respawnd again. -Sub Biom Animal spawning. Animals spawns now in their own Sub Biomes on the Island I.e. Turtels and Seaguals are more on the Beach, Elephants or Bears are more in the middle of an Island (I.E. Croc´s are more Rare on the Beach but in the Middle island their can be more) -Sharks are now more in the Open Sea and not in front of your anchored Ship None Spawn Areas for animals. Mountains and Structures have an small No spawn Area for Animals. Bey bey Dumbo Elephant trapped on a Cliff :,,( -Adding a Leaver to every Boat to raise and lower Anchor´s -The Emergency Ladder have now a better trigger box and will shown up (in that Blue build a Structur Design) -Removed collision on dead Bodys but u cant pick up dead bodys anymore -Hitbox are fixed no more clipping in structures -Ressource Box can only placed on Ships an can only Stack items to 5000max and don´t reduce the weight.(see Cargo Dock on Ships) -Ghostships will now come out of the Water (like in Movies) and Spawns only at Night -Reduced the Amount of Ghostships on a Grid to 5 per Night in random variations (High low Medium Typs) The Medium and Large Ghostships now have Larg Cannons( Sorry for the Hit and Run Players.... we want that you fight agains the Ships ) -Removed Ghostship Loot Crew Gold cost Ghostship Crew are so Happy that you saved them and dont want gold for 24h... after a Day they realy want some gold for Buying a cool hook -Rework of "Rename the Company". Now the Leader had to pick up a "Letter of the Company" Item from your Company Flag and travel to a Freeport. Now you can give the letter to the [ Librarian of Goverment NPC] and you can choose a new Name. The Name change after 12 Hours. The Letter of the Company have a spoil time to prevent "Player Parking with an Letter in front of the NPC" ((or maybe only a 12h Waiting time? )) -On Ship Building Redesign. Hell yea we love the Freedome of a Free building Warship With fucking lots of Cannons. But we have to balance this. ;X -Increas the Weight of Structures -Gunports reduce the Wight of snapped Cannons all time now not only opend. -Increase the weight of Cannons yea this is the real way. (now Top Deck Cannons are heavy as shit) Now u must choose wisely... A Big Tanky Ship with a lots of Topdeck Cannons but slow as Shit or a "Normal Ship" that moves much faster. Add: If we get 100 Upvotes, i will make Pictures from the Ideas .     Grapeshot, We all came here to play a pirate MMO with survival and PVP. Not an ARK mod. You guys are doing hella good with the changes lately, but more balancing needs to come. And to be honest, im all for tools that help us farm instead of animals. For example a saw with two sides (two players use saw and get bonus wood), saw mills, and some type of carrying carts for horses. Instead of smacking trees with elephants. This would give you guys a chance to go a completely different direction with Tames. The sword fighting and pistol play/bows reminds of somewhat of Reign of Kings. I fell in love with this game for that. Currently swords and pistols are a novelty in PVP, not a staple. I challenge to find anyone who isnt entering a PVP ground battle at current day NOT using flame bears. Its everywhere, its broken, and its not fun. Just my two cents, from someone with over 700 hours into the game.

    I find it to be rather clarified when there’s a huge banner saying a lot of stuff can and will change and if EA isn’t for you, it’s best to wait a bit. Well you proved the last part to be right. I don’t mind the wipe since I knew what I was getting into when clicking the buy option. Having such a huge map should atleast run some kind of little bell in people’s head about the possibility of wipes. I’m not saying the people calling wipes out to ‘not a part of EA’ are ignorant, it’s just that they could’ve seen it coming since it was staring everyone right in the face.

    Re. Forums vs. discord and Twitter - Sometimes people get excited over newer technology to the point where they aren't thinking about how well it suits the purpose. I have to laugh at the evolution of twitter. 140 chars, then 280 chars, and people trying to use that to communicate complicated, nuanced things. So now there's string tweets, where someone will make long multiple 1/6, 2/6, 3/6 tweets that don't read coherently afterward, have a lot of repetition. (Unless you use a special tool to reformat the thing). It's like deciding to build a table using only tweezers. Just the wrong tool for it. Discord for something like this is kind of silly. It's fine for just making sure you have a "presence"...a "hi, how's everybody doing? kind of thing. But transmitting critical information through it is sort of insulting to the players. It's saying I am so much busier and more important than you, that you should just go to this place and wait to see if I show up to tell you anything. And using a time-dependent medium to communicate with people around the world in all timezones? Pffft. Not the right tool. Livestreams and videos - don't get me started.     Honestly I think the hope lies in one thing only in the upcoming iteration of the game: The diversity of landlords. If they're all dicks, then there's not much hope. If they're all mega companies or small companies, then there's not much hope. If they all decide anarchy is the way of the land or order or controlled chaos, then there's not much hope. Too much of any one thing will be bad. If, on the other hand, the land owners are diverse and all want to run their islands in different ways, then I think we'll start to see some major improvements. People will start coming together and living together with other like-minded people, communities will form and everyone will have a place that feels a lot more homey than the game currently does. Communities are what make good MMOs great, and honestly this game's community in general could really use more cohesion.

    Actually landlords/tenants were part of the vision all along. Below I copied and pasted the description of the game in Steam, but the part to pay attention to in this case is the "Claim What's Yours" part. This is why I don't get why so many people say they didn't start playing this game to have a landlord or pay taxes to someone.     1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down.     I’ve been sailing around gathering discovery points and exploring islands since the announcement of the wipe, there are a few people who are still playing the game and making the best of it as they can. I’ve noticed in my exploration of the islands that some islands have baren landscapes with no resources at all ( none, nota, zilch) but it is still a claimable area. Though you could build here it’s not viable to haul all your materials into the area. We’ve all been saying to limit claims to no more then 5 per account to use across the atlas map, which all sounds good to smaller companies and solo players. Even larger companies would benefit from because the more members they have the more land they accumulate. There in lies the problem. When someone quits playing the game, the land they own and ships they’ve built remain, now being part of a company the ships will transfer ownership as will the land but the idea is to free up the land if someone quits playing. Let’s say 100 claims per island - beach access only- no one wants to cover up resources further in - so that is 20 people at 5 claims per island and at 500 islands should be 10,000 people right. How would you ever hit the mark of 50,000 players unless you were lawless and people could build on top of one another ? This is why the developers have chosen to do away with claim flags. With that being said I’d like to introduce the new claim flag system ( wood, fiber and thatch) it’s called foundation spamming which isn’t new to people in Ark or lawless areas in Atlas, same principle as pillar spamming. Here is my advice, when the wipe happens and the servers restart make plans to call in sick or take a vacation day, that is what I’m opting to do, since any island can now be your home island have a region picked out. No sense in starting at a Freeport and building a ramshackle or raft. Spawn at your home island and create your pickaxe, hatchet and sickle as fast as you can, (hopefully your not in tundra or polar where your going to freeze to death before your able to craft fur armor) start gathering materials and building thatch floors or wooden pillars, ( I think floors have obstruction issues at some places but pillars don’t), take off placing them down in a long line at least until you run into your neighbors foundation, (remind you this could take awhile or or not very long at all) drop back and start again, you’ve now established your claim, length by width. Enjoy, throw a bed down and jump to the next island, repeat the steps above and now you have multiple claims. Once the 1st day is out of the way( hope you were able to find land) go back and start building your bases. I hope this guide helps

    Surely I will not be leaving the game immediately after the planned change, for I am willing to give claimed one chance, where I will seek either to dominate island or have nothing to do with it. If this test goes wrong and it turns out that you can not be your own master in PVP official, only then I will be leaving Atlas for good. If however it turns out that players with small numbered tribe or even solos can live independently and are given the chance to make it so, then surely this is the game for me. But as I said on my initial post, unless they decide to leave lawless as a viable choice, I see chances of that happening are slim and IMO small tribes and especially solos are the thing of the past when it comes to being their own masters - unless they are subsidiaries for larger tribe, or their junior partners. What I would not want to see, is devs enforcing certain player style. This is the path to doom, and frankly, it is not needed, as we already have nice lawless as alternative to master-servant game that is being offered as main dish. edit: Not wanting to be a prophet here, but triggered by your "projecting" statement, where you willingly or subconsciously belittle the firm pro-lawless stand, I foresee your group being approached by a zerg asking to "please remove claim:)" and assimilate soonish after you set your flag on island. Something that on lawless would have never happened, and where you would have been avoided by zerg as you were before.

Dayz is horrible still after 7 yrs of development. We now have a spike of approx 3k players playing today, it will go up a tad but the same applies to dayz. Dayz is so boring now. Yet Ark? still is showing more players playing then both x4. Go figure..... Dont address the concerns of the players and this is how your game turns out. Not enough to support servers. Yet dayz also has private servers. Your not required to cluster up huge costs to run the game 150x 50 servers. Whatever... we wont go there. But its EA everyone will say? well truth be told each of those games are still in EA, remember when ARK released DLC in EA then gobbled up all the ideas from modders? still EA if you ask me.

    Remember, we are talking zerg here. They have huge number of members and will claim islands just to say to control them. Either them or their shadow tribes (secretly owned by their members). They will see a small tribe on an island and will decide to give it 2 options: merge or unclaim by force.

    Think about it. Settlement owners have 12 hour window to demolish structures. After 12 hours abandoned structures will still need structure decay and this is why the auto-repair structure will still be coming.

    There was a substantial difference though. A difference you can not ignore if you played ATLAS PVP. No zerg was every really concerned for lawless tribes (unless there was a personal beef or direct provocation (res blocking, griefing), like Diamond vs Saviors on EU PVP or Corsaires vs Shadowlords for diamond blocking). That meant independent tribes could actually live and thrive on lawless, sometimes even making great bases that zerg was not raiding, deeming them "too much trouble to raid anyway". But if devs decide to ignore this unexpected boom of lawless tribes, and not provide way for us to maintain our foundations and buildings, or even place cannons there, that would probably mean they are willing to ignore a huge part of community and force vassal-serf system to anyone and all, even though now there is an alternative way of life present and viable.

    My question is : Are they running a pvp PTR or pve PTR ? They never really cleared that up and if you read the CL then it looks like the changes they want to test is for the pvp servers. If you really read it everything is directed towards pvp except the little paragraph that is titled PVE, for all we really know none of what we’ve been going on about has anything to do with pve? We may just have claim flags removed and that’s it.

    I know that when I read that, and when probably everyone else read it, they envisioned themselves as the landlord, not the tenant. The reality that the majority of players need to be tenants and not landlords is the harsh reality of this game that no one likes.

    I can't say I like the tame/cart meta in any form. Hand to hand, firearm and riding a naked tame are fun to me. Tame running full speed spitting out grapeshot/flame not sure much. First time i did it I was like hey this is cool its slaughtering people. After 20 kills in a row its like this is boring. How long do I have to do this? It quickly lost its appeal to me because it was easy mode.

    I didnt read all post above but i absolute see the point of the guy started this post. The land owner can at any point chose to demolish everything you own at any point. I see allot of people just starting "on my Island i Will let everyone build". Just imagine for once that you wont be first to get a land, that you will live under someone elses roof. You farm rare maths all over atlas for weeks, when suddenly you wake up one day and lost everything, what will you do? Just start over under someone elses roof in hope it dosent happen again? Dont think so.

    I agree to the solution you stated. I’m just not sure that island owners are ready to devote that much time and energy to prevent this. Perhaps a less time intensive manner to secure resource areas could be developed.

    I like 4 premade and the allowing to snap to houses would be nice. I am confused and a little bothered that very few people were understanding the way the claim sys was going to be. If your playing with you stepdaughter then I am sure you have not played Rust, and you shouldn't I wouldn't let my son in the room till my character has some clothes. But what they were going to do for PvE is you could build anywhere ANYWHERE but after half a day in game time (guessing the time) the structures would deteriorate and in some cases you see the built items fall apart before your eyes. The only thing that would keep those built items there was a cabinet you had to keep a low % value to your structures built e.i. 10 wood walls=0.1 wood X per hour would take from your cabinet and, you could just stock it up if you had a life issue vacation etc. The devs did say they were going to put some sort of device that I would imagine would have been very much this way. The only problem was with this is they lacked explaining if you have large group small group what was you owning/building mass? You are absolutely spot on about the "making it the same as PvP", I smell lots of dousheriey on the one. PvP you can trust people to do the mean thing and PvE you are not sure what to trust I trust in better cunning or conning.

We will still prioritize fixing issues/bugs/exploits, so we encourage you to work with us when you’ve discovered something that could be exploitable. That is our mandate, fixing and resolving game problems, however we’ll be taking a more firm stance against the serious cases where a company has used an exploit without coming forward which could result in company-wide and or alliance-wide punishments.

    It’s not that hard to understand. This isn’t a pirate game. You can do pirate stuff, but you can’t be a pirate. This isn’t a survival game. There is survival game aspects, but it’s more annoying than anything else. This is a empire building game. The claim system was implemented to be a major part of that. The flags didn’t work. There were too many problems which seem to have been too deeply implemented in the code for them to fix properly. Instead of rewriting massive amounts of code to implement grids or whatever they decide on a change that allows for whole island claims. The new system works (in theory) for an empire building game in a player versus player game. It doesn’t work in a player versus environment. Then again, empire building doesn’t work in a player versus environment game when there is nothing in the environment to challenge the empire. It was not going to be implemented in PvE! PvE was going to become an open sandbox. The player base complained so loudly that they had to shoe horn it into PvE. That doesn’t change the fact that it doesn’t make sense for PvE. There is still nothing to challenge the building of an empire. The smaller claim flag idea is gone. It was broken and they are not going to fix it. And they are not going to have two different systems for PvP and PvE. The solution was no claims in PvE. Now that they HAD to put it in, it’s going to be “broken” on the PvE side until they have time to fix it to work on BOTH sides. I play PvE. The solution sucks. I fully expect more changes in the future. Until then, I have the same choices as everyone else. Roll with it or play something else. I’m going to roll with it. It’s technically still a beta (although they prefer the term early access, lol)

    A lot of the confusion on the part of the devs quite possibly comes from the fact that they gave people what they asked for, not what they wanted. People asked for "a claim system" which to the devs means taxes and land ownership and management and the tenant system they proposed. They specifically have said several times in the past that "we want the claim system to include other people building on the claimers land" What people WANTED was "the ability to deny others the right to build on a piece of land" which is the exact opposite of the claim system. So they weren't asking for what they wanted (insert conjecture as to why). However, it's abundantly clear that people HATE the idea of taxes. You know where was great for not paying taxes? Lawless. Make everything lawless AND FIX LAWLESS Increase build deny range, not decrease it Make structures rapidly decay based on the number of conjoined structures. 1 piece = 1 minute. 20 pieces = 1 day. Go up from there. Either raise the cap on demolish to 14 days, or allow companies 2 "vacation modes" a year that pop their buildings to 14 days.

    thats the point of being a landlord with ability to remove structures , someone lands and starts building on resources its your responsibility as landlord to remove the offending building also the timer applies to all items as they are placed so stockpiling then building wont work if he doesnt want u there ,he will still be able to remove anything for 12 hours after its placed or longer . the devs have been clever here with this system , as is like each grid / island will have unpaid mods , which will cut down on the tickets being sent it as all the players have to do is shout out to landlord about x player blocking resources or blocking them in , or blocking their shipyards , if he is a good landlord he will remove them ..

    I'm with the OP (except for that bit about communism, which is weird) Well, what if they solved the first vote by giving everyone limited claims based on company size and retaining some of lawless? (And then when they discover to no one's surprise, that people who voted lawless really would prefer to have a claim, they can get rid of them) Or they could solve it by logging into the game and going around kicking all the players in the ass. Which is better? What if they told the pvpers that they had no business voting on things about other players' servers that they never play on? That would solve the second vote sensibly. (Or to put it a different way, why the hell would you ask pvpers how the pvp server should work? Who does that?) I don't know what definitions you are using for hardcore, casual and softcore, but I think your last statement is wrong. And truly, we have no freaking idea what gets taken into account for decision making. Maybe they throw darts at a board. After all, in the beginning, someone decided people should grab an unlimited number of claims that should last 2 days. You think that genius is doing sophisticated analysis of player trends and preferences?

    One thing I'd ask for is to at least make sure that bps have at least *some* stat increase. Nothing like getting kicked in the teeth by finding a masterwork carbine bp that has the same damage and durability as the default craft.

    ok so let me get this straight the PVE guys are unhappy. Due to claims and the way they structured the PvP guys are unhappy because the Forced PVE that we now have to endure because of Whinny PVE Bobs on PVP servers. In reality Grapeshot is Trying and have listened to all you people whine and groan and moan about absolute bullshit. give them a break the fixed alot in season 1. The only issue i am having is timing PTR is set for the 20th same day as the wipe and does this mean there will be no official server till after the PTR is concluded or will if be separate. Point 2 is open the PTR to everyone is in my opinion a mistake what you going to learn from 2 or 3 ppl playing the game together in a companies most the game breaking glitches and exploits are found buy them weeks into playing but having it limited to dedicated companies EG top 10 you will find out quicker what is wrong and what is broken having . I urge people to remember you bought a Early Access game they point is to help devs make choices and not be the self entitled whinny babies you are. People have been vocal about the wipe because like ark this game takes investment. What investment your time. Most stopped playing due to the pointlessness of investing 10+ hrs daily for something that is ending.My last word are Tax's SUCK but then join a bigger company. Learn to get along you pve bunch or come play PVP then Tax disputes where easy. You wipe them or push them off the island no tax problem them. That being said Now we need to declare war on a PVP server joy and when you facing large companies good luck to anyone trying to push them off in war time period .

    So wipe isn't happening on 20th March then, PTR is happening on 20th? So wipe will not be before 27th March? In regards to the PvE land claim change, now that there will be a claim upkeep that players building on that land will have to contribute too, is that in addition to the upkeep for structure decay? If so does that now mean we've got 2 upkeeps to keep paying towards? Also people wanted PvE claim flags but I don't think they wanted it like the PvP claim system.

    Well, they are sadly connected with freeport areas ,and, again sadly, that implies that they are meant as "intermediate" areas before you either: - with 199 other people in your zerg move to claimed to do zerg vs zerg (and stream it of course), gaining all dev love or - solo or with few close friends, you move post wipe to a new lawless to be a junior or insignificant partner/slave to a zerg who can, anytime he wants, wipe you with mortars and 1 cannon if you do not slave enough or grow too big for their taste; or integrate into zerg, again gaining all dev love (?) Now, in reality, this did not happen. In reality, so many individuals and companies decided to stay there, and actually had more fun than slaving and fighting lost battles with zerg. So, it is only logical that devs adapt to this situation, and make lawless viable to live. What I would love to see, and I wager many many others, would be to: - add auto repair (area effect) on lawless too - increase foundations build blocking range again - add damage decay so troll builds without auto repair decay rapidly

    Well i see that lawless is there for people to stepping stone out of freeports. Okay so it IS that, and even while settled by some permanent residents, it still is that. While based on lawless i do not try to hinder others on the island, or block off resource nodes, if some dude is building a schooner on the other side of the island, i let him do his thing, if he starts triggering my puckles more than id like, now we have a conflict. Where i am going with this now that we,ve established that dudes can build a schooner on lawless, and you can, on most all of them. Is that there is a second use for lawless. It is the only pirate heaven. And this game requires a pirate heaven so that mega companies can have to deal with pirates.. Because if you have only megas on claimed land, and no safe heaven for pirates, well then you have just a war game, not a pirate game.. And before you say "pirate themed" or whatever snappy its not a pirate game comment youre thinking about typing, just remeber you ARE getting a pirate hat for compensation for the wipe, and with that in mind i think we can conclude that it is a pirate game... So really what im saying, is if i cant "small tribe" or better named "pirate company" in lawless "pirates heaven" well then it just makes that PIRATE hat, just useless doesnt it? May as well just give us navy hat instead hey?
