3 pointsIt's also reviews like this that hurt the game: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198015192553/recommended/834910/ For those that can't see it for any reason, not sure if you need a Steam account, but basically this is what it says: Negative Review "Horrible game." 0.0 hrs last two weeks 0.3 hrs on record Review left on 27th July 2019 So what we have here, is someone that has played ATLAS for a total of around 18 minutes. 18 minutes is not long enough for a game of this type. The player has also not played in the last two weeks at all, yet left the negative review today, 27th July. Now you may say that anyone with an ounce of a brain would look at that review and take zero notice of it because of the length of time played, the quality of the comment, and the fact they haven't played for at least two weeks yet still decided to post a neg review today. But, this is where the issue is, because people won't spend the time skimming through all the reviews and reading all the comments. Most people will look at the % and make a decision. So reviews like this hold more power because of that. These types of reviews are very common unfortunately.

3 pointsLike other players, i was wating for this. Blackwood will be perfect for my own server. So... Speak for yourself. I want new stuff too, but Blackwood will be the start point for the map modders with the release of the DEVKIT.

2 pointsTop Gun: Talk to me goose.. give us something,, Where you at? whatcha doing? what you working on? Communication is key! And dont give us those scripted response either.. Hey Jat.. Whats going on? What are you working on?
-
2 pointsI am not complaining about the fantasy part. My issue is with the focus. Every time they add a new tame instead of a new Ship-class the game dies a bit more.
-
2 pointsThey promised a 40k+ MMO "Pirate" game. We got some fantasy hybrid mix with Submarines, Wooden ships that shoot magically powered torpedoes out of Cannon bays (??), a zoo of magical creatures no one asked for and a development focus on Single-player. Man did they deliver.
-
2 pointsI think what doesn't help is this black or white, 1 or 0, yes or no approach to playing with others. You are either allied OR at war. Thats it! You should at least be able to set someone or a group as neutral. You should be able to create temporary groups to let people interact with your ship or house without touching anyones company. And maybe you should be able to join more than one company. I think people are way too attached to their company. Make it more about your connection to local islands and other players than about having the right color in your nametag And the thing is that the colony update could be seen as a first step in that direction. Imo colony wasn't implemented 100%. Maybe 15%.

2 pointsthey have still used resources we paid for to add it , more single player content why ? @devs how about working on the game you sold us .. u know the giant online MMO world ?
-
2 pointsi rly had a laught when they said the submarine could not use torpedos but the ship could, like WTF!? just like when they introduced a feudal system in a pirate MMO, there is no logic in this game at all

1 pointIs it possible to get another ship type fit between the Brigantine and Galleon, Brigantine have much Lower HP than the Galleon, but it is much more maneuverable than galleon, but only have 2 gun more than a schooner. Galleon have very high fire power, but it is useless in turning, so if you kill SoTD with it, it will take a very long time to turn and get the loot. if there is a ship type that can have more HP, fire power of the Brigantine but just a bit less maneuverable still more maneuverable than a galleon but lest HP and fire power, that will be great there are number of ship type in history can fit for it can look it up

1 pointit`s been months , but why didn`t i get the hat ??? did they forget the hat as well as the new content?
-
1 pointI keep this thread open for your thoughts, but instead of splitting players with single player mode, huge company servers.. small company servers... private servers...Pve...Pvp..and one server for each of the 17 genders, it should be the goal to put them all in one massive online world, which is having diffrent regions with diffrent rules.

1 pointHello there Veteran Pirates, Forum bookworms, newbies And Realist ( honestly he is his own category,no offense mate ) We all know Grapeshot did alot of Bullshit at the Release And it was And still is your right to react to it. But it seems that many People Who really enjoy this game forgot about something really Important imo And that is actually the negativ Review on Steam And other platforms. I wont ask People to just Change it if they still Dont like the Game, but as many others you might have forgotten to Change it into something positive. Potential Players may or may Not Play because of your Review. There are Tons of Players who have over 1k hours in this game And i Dont think anyone spends 1k hours on a Game he does Not like. Even if its only one Person reading this And changing his Review it is a Start. We all have high hopes And Maybe its time for us to give Other Players the Chance to enjoy this game And also bring some Motivation to our Grapeshot guys

1 pointMy wife just yesterday said, “Where’s my hat?” I said that a team of people are working very hard to make sure that the promise of a legacy hat is kept. Then she said, “Will we ever get our top hats back?” “Of course we will”, I replied. A dev team this devoted to it’s core players would never abandon its little things that make it fun. (When she stops playing so do I so ya’ll devs better hurry it up)
-
1 pointA missing person’s report has been filed with appropriate authorities but at present the hat’s whereabouts are unknown. The issue is a sensitive one and many here are hesitant to speak openly about their fears regarding the hat’s fate, but the degree to which it is now overdue is not a promising sign. Authorities do say that a certain Cat is a “person of interest” with regard to the hat’s whereabouts. If you or anyone you know has information about either the Cat or the hat, they are urged to contact Inspector Jerryn immediately. Information which lead’s to the hat’s recovery may be rewarded with an ingame item.

1 pointCant deny that argmument,i still have my Fun with trading And Events etc. But its true that new content for Multiplayer or rather officials takes too long. The Performance patches were awesome tho, it had a massive impact on our base which makes it even more awesome to walk through it ^^ i guess no One expect a content Patch to Change the whole Game Expierience but they could Give us some Little Things for now. Even if its something you Need to Grind for but the reward should make up for it. Make Named sotds Which glow purple or so And have a 5% Chance to drop a sailskin or so for each powerstone Island And there you have Little Work Which keeps us busy for a time

1 pointI think you all have forgotten about having a kid and character dying from old age. It supposed to be implemented also i hope devs didnt forgot it. Back to the topic. I changed my review while ago to positive but still i think ATLAS have not much to offer now, its playable, i had almost zero issue with performance or DC. But reviews will not "invite" new players to the game. There have to be some Mega update , mechanic change or smth like that. Or this game will end like Citadel Forge with Fire. Look at this game, it is also as i know made by some few ppl from ARK. And after 2 years of making there is still not much to do in game and there is almost zero players on servers, there is like 60 ppl who are giving some feedback . I wanted to install it again and try to play after so long time but before that i have read comments after update...its suprising how old players lost hope for Citadel, they wrote that there is zero content and when they do they add 1 creature. Sounds fammiliar ? ATLAS will need new players but to have those smth have to be made quickly.

1 point@RealistI know what you mean. But think some Kind of Story will be added later to the Game.i'd really like to See those tiny Fragments of Story like they had with the explorer notes. I mean the background Storys has already been made. The submarine And Torpedos etc. Could be Technology from ancient Times where the Islands were still in the Air. So we Discover those technologys bit by bit And learn about the past. Would also like to See them Change powerstones abit. Like kill the Guardian And get the artifact Key. Look Into all those buildings to find the Fragment of the Stone then Charge it with the essence And then go to the Cave Which now unlocks a Dungeon which Needs to be completed And fight the Boss inside to restore One powerstone. Also make every Dungeon different, One underwater Maybe so You Need to find a way to Stay underwater longer like food or oxy Equip.

1 pointWe all have different issues with the ships o.t.d. Please be patient. Many problems with single player(beta-version) have already been fixed gradually. The Devs have to work on four game modes now.Maybe you should post this on Single Player Bug Thread.
-
1 pointWell it says 2 days 12 hours on my dummy. I had 2 dummies, one outside my base free-standing on the ground, and one inside my base standing on foundation. The one outside my base autodecayed after I hadn't played for upto 2.5 days, and the one inside my base is fine. I can only assume they have fast decay because immature people spam stuff, but this was never the case with dummies before. So a ninja change happened. It's stuff like this that makes me lose complete interest in the game because you take 1 day off from playing and who knows what has disappeared in the game.

1 pointLet's not take this thread off-topic with a personal fight. You can discuss the matter in PMs.

1 pointColonies has not failed... What failed was that the large groups are so few and don't want to play alone (in a MMO none the less), therefore everyone but Talono joined Colonies... Colonies also was a success as it gave island claim flags, compared to company claim flags which failed spectacular, like any 'claiming' in PVE/lawless still fails toxically. The whole afair of Empire and Colonies was just that the Devs wanted not to enforce the Colony system on the player base, knowing how that would result in spoiled rage-quits. But to give players the subjective option to choose and than get the Empire servers shut down, because of low population, as was know would happen before that change... It is called 'to nudge', happens to you every day... otherwise there would be a revolution... The island claim system is important, as it is not as toxic as lawless and the company system before, which was unable to moderate by game mechanic or admins. The moderation was given to the island owner and it was for the better. Any problems still existing are in PVE (which is a problem of Atlas PVE unsolveable), Lawless and in the mind of the people that "don't want to be a slave" and/or are not able to be a "slaver", therefore resign to lawless which does not work for them even more... And could we please give up the idea that you could somehow control company or alliance member numbers, while there is an outside world with multiple options to organize large groups? It is technically not possible and please don't think that somehow moderation can enforce numbers in the real world. Also, as already said in this thread, limiting the number of alliance members is more a problem for the mass of small companies which in-game cannot organize to strenght in numbers. Or to organize a 'neutral' alliance for each company where they put the companies which they are not allied with, but want to be neutral to, for better organized community living therefore reducing the problem of either you are allied or a vaild target. What has failed this game is PVE. People demand to build anything everywhere and can't, or make toxic use of it. Damn those neighbors, so unexpected in a MMO...! What has failed is land PVP. Totally makes ship PVP useless, as ships sink in harbor than in combat. Nothing is save and therefore not worth doing in the first place - or for the third time. Currently it seems like if someone gets wiped half the players leave the game, the other halfs joins the half of another wiped comapny... And what has failed is the willing missunderstanding by the single-players and non-dedicateds that do not understand how the claim system is there for protecting them from the big guys, and which was not intented for them to own an island of their own, nor the need to do. Hell, there are so many islands available for claiming now, because even when they can, the small guys can't and should not do it. But complaining they can, still not understanding it... Oh and by the way... when you next also complain about the bad game performance, give thank to the island claim system, moderating the mass of useless stuff build. Without it it would be way worst, as this game cannot handle that amount of stuff, especially if everyone wants to have a giant base, just because and damn the torpedos...!

1 pointThat's what made me leave official Only played to reset timer, feed animals and gold

1 pointi do know that it was annouced already for p servers. but this is an mmo why would their main focus be on p servers/SP doesnt make sense to me. why did we even had a ptr ? i think they should focus on their Original servers and not player dedicated/sp or p servers
-
1 pointYour brain is dead aswell Blackwood was anouced long before singelplayer and istargeted for private servers.
-
1 pointfound this in the discord server start ShooterGameServer.exe Blackwood? -log -server -NoSeamlessServer Different map name, and -NoSeamlessServer is required due to these servers not needing a database
-
1 pointGuys, let's be honest... Since the first trailer we known there will be Hydra, Fantaisy, Dinosaurs, Dragon, Magics, etc.. Don't be the "Oh how could we know" It's since the beginning, as of the tek part in Ark
-
1 pointSo even though Jeremy talked a lot about dinosaurs being his passion, Ark had a clear vision and a coherent road map from day one as a science fiction game where Dinos were a central feature, not, as some who hated tek tried to claim, a Dino game where they shoe horned tek in after the fact. The reason we know this aside from the aforementioned elements is the coherent and in depth game story presented in the game’s explorer notes, some of which were also in the game from day one. The notes, if actually read instead of ignored, point immediately to a suggestion of humans from different places and historical eras being present on the ark at the same time, thus reinforcing a science fiction core concept from the beginning, The point is not that anyone is required to like tek, or fantasy torpedoes and submarines, but rather that it is inaccurate to claim these things are “unrelated” and thrown in arbitrarily. Doing so is attempting to substitute your own desire for a purely Dino or pirate themed game for the actual developers vision that is of a broader scope. No one is required to like that broader scope, but claiming it doesn’t exist or wasn’t communicated is factually inaccurate and unfair to the developers. Also, if you don’t like that sort of thing, you should probably brace yourself because my guess is we will see more of it not less by the time Atlas’s initial development phase of EA is done. Your assessment of your own emotional reaction to Ark’s development is more fair minded than those who stomped their feet and threw their food and demanded “their” purely Dino game back. They were willfully denying facts, you at least recognize you just didn’t like what they chose to do with the game. I got no truck with anyone saying “I don’t like what they’re doing with this game” but that is qualitatively different from saying “they promised me a pirate/Dino game and now they’re breaking that promise by putting this other stuff in.” None of us were ever promised any such thing, and if you don’t like that throwing in a single word like sci fi or fantasy can give developers broad leeway to expand upon a central concept you would prefer they hewed more narrowly to, then that’s a view you’re entitled to as long as you’re not twisting it to assert you were somehow done wrong when the developers vision doesn’t match your personal desires.

1 pointYou mean that game where we can build mega cities, docks and animalpens? Where picking up a wall looks like... erm, well a picked up wall instead of 160 walls gone bye bye? With all these awesome shipbuilds other then those wich are still here since the beginning? And how about that awesome skin for our "Dedicated hard work, feedback and bugreports" ? Where treasuremaps don't keep bugging out? HO, STOP. WE WANT CATS!?!11 Nvm the above. WE WANT CATS!!1!

1 point1. you may Not know but actually Pirates only Attacked unarmed trading ships And Most of them Never actually fired a cannon or Gun at all. Also you Maybe missed it, but if you take a Super close Look in the Trailer you can this 5 Header lizard in the background or the Fire elemental. I know Hydras were almost extinct in the pirate area but Trust me they existed ^^ im Fine if You Tell me you played 1k hours And you opinion changed while playing but i cant See a reason to Play that much if i just Dont like the Game. Sound to me like eating Grass, tastes like shit but it may taste better After 1k hours.
-
1 pointBoomer.... I have always enjoyed reading your posts and responses...until this. It's too late to go and get a good ribeye now and damnit, I hate you for now making me hungry for one. That said, if they can't find a way to join PVP and PVE elements into the same server, I don't see much of a bright future for the game. I really am not a fan of PVP myself but I have enjoyed dabbling in it from time to time and supporting my pvp friends by farming and building for them. So many grids, I don't see why they couldn't break it into PVE, PVP zones.
-
1 pointNot to pick at that scar, but you know this scene is based on real events right?
-
1 pointIf you consider 6 active Players as a Mega Company And with raiding that we Maybe tame an Animal on your island whilst playing on PVE then definitly

1 pointMy review on steam was actually positive after about 100 hours of game play, during which I did not know Grapecard and their capabilities as a developer. After I hit about the 600 hour marks and seen a couple dev streams and their pathetic mega updates I clearly realized this particular developer is not capable of developing a game properly for whatever reason. They seem to be focused on adding a bunch of stuff most the player base didn't ask for and not fixing the core problems with the game and balancing the broken meta's. Furthermore, their seems to be a lack of a roadmap on what they actually want to do with this game. During the course of this realization I also realized that the game is just not fun and replay-ability is just not there even if there was a wipe. It's unfortunate that I changed my review from positive to negative due to bad development and direction. But in this game's current state I can't really recommend this game to anyone. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't. It's up to Grapeshot.
-
1 pointThe ship you're referring to would most likely be a Frigate. Which is a ship class that had at lest 28 guns.

1 pointTo host a server, on the main menu, use the single player/non dedicated option. At the next screen in the centre is a button to host a server. To join a server, on the main menu select the join server. Towards the bottom left of next screen is a drop down menu where you can select non dedicated servers. In there you will find a list of available servers. If the one you want is not showing it's likely that it is passworded. Select the option on bottom left to reveal them. For your friends to access you server, they need to follow instructions above to locate your server.
-
1 pointSorry Jat but my Singleplayer is still Borked. It crashes to desktop at the exact same spot after the new update. I tried to load up the Non Dedicated server for it too and its still doing the same thing, once it tries to load ocean, black screen and crash back to desktop so I'm guessing the Non Dedicated server and Singleplayer share the same game world? Found a fix but not a great one, I deleted my "LastGridCoord_76561197972504706" file and was able to load in, though my map exploration was vanished, and I had to respawn at another freeport. Once I got back to my base, I could see my "other" character sleeping so i guess it created another copy of my old character? and some of the boats were completely disappeared with the stuff I made floating in the air . Hope this helps.

1 pointAhoy Pathfinders! ccc is a console command which takes your current in game coordinates and server grid then formats that into a cheat command used by Grapeshot employees to teleport to your exact location. It's useful when reporting map issues, or passing on specific information about your location to the team. To use the command, please do the following: - Open your console with the ` key (you can find it located next to 1 or above TAB) - Type in: ccc - Hit Enter Demonstration of the command typed into the console. The game will automatically copy the coordinates to your clipboard, just hit ctrl+v and you will paste the cheat command. It will be formatted like this: cheat TP J8 -451257 320374 484 Please use this when you are making reports to us, it will allow us to be more efficient when looking into your reports! Thank you
