    Just thought I would compile a list of Where to get what resource since I could not find any one place that listed them all and the Wiki is not yet update(plan to do some of that next). I got All these values/info from the game directory “steamapps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Content\Atlas\AtlasCoreBP\HarvestComponents”. The listed Zones in that directory(which you can find below) are, NE Tropical, NW Temperate, E Temperate, W Tropical, W Tundra, Equator, Polar, C High Desert, C Low Desert, Ocean Floor. I will List zones then what you can find in them. Keep in mind free ports might be different in that zone. There is not a folder for some zones (North West Tropic, North East Temperate, et...) So I assume it might share the same values as its corresponding zone. Keep in mind these are just the HarvestComponent, what they yield might not be exactly what they are named. Many zones have more than 2 woods you can gather.     After playing Atlas for many hours, visiting the official forum many times and seeing several posts about the game's claim system, with critical suggestions and etc, I decided to do this mega post to talk about this mechanic and give my suggestions to make it better , more competitive and satisfying for all kinds of players. Unfortunately I am not fluent in English and I wrote all this in Portuguese and then with my knowledge and a help from Google Translator I translated into English, if any fluent in Portuguese and English want the original version that I wrote and make a better translation, I will be attaching the document in this post. I really believe the Atlas has an big potential to become one of the best experience MMO Sandbox, and that's why I felt like I wanted to cooperate as much as I could, so that the game would become better and better. The current game system is practically traumatizing and not compensatory for those who take the game seriously and think about having a long term progression, you build, build, equip up, build your boat and then, after you logoff and go sleep, none of it is there, all stolen or broken by someone or a small group. The current claim system has a very serious problem, there is no limit for people to put their flags, it's all a mess, play put their flags anywhere even knowing that they did not use that place at all, just to disrupt or mess the game. Having said all this, I came to this conclusion of writing and thinking about this whole new system for the game! Well let's get start: The creation of a skill tree for claim This skill tree is important because it would give progression in investing in the colonization project of your company and limits certain aspects in what is necessary for the competitiveness and progression of the game. Laws within this area of influence can be imposed by the leader of the company that conquered the plot, such as: free movement of any player (company member or not, tax collection for players who have personal claim in that area and others. In Red and Black zones these walls are undone when a company is suffering a Siege War attack (I will explain in more detail below). Personal Claim A small space (5x5?) Siege War Siege was the only way I found that a group or company could conquer or destroy an established base and the area of influence of another group, fighting fairly and competitively for both sides. Can only occur in Red and Black Zone When a company first conquers a plot with its flag, it will choose 3 times in IRL that it can suffer an attack, the siege can happen on any day, but only at the times at which it chooses. For a company to attack another base through siege, the company leader should go to a Freeport in the Red PVP Zone and choose a day (the attack can not occur on the same day it is being organized) in which he wants attack and one of the times established by the leader of the other company that will defend At that time the invisible walls of the base being attacked will dismantle only to the members of the company and allies that marked the attack. A company wins a siege when it manages to destroy the wall or gate, invade the base and destroy the flag of the other company. A company can pay for gold to block sieges attacks for 3, 5 or 7 days, the leader must go to a Freeport in a Red PVP Zone and pay for the NPC. "The war occurs in a region demarcated in the map of the territory, the company that manages to destroy the ship of all the others is the winner" "As soon as the event begins this demarcated area is closed with translucent walls and no one can enter or even leave to try to avoid fighting." There is no limit on how many ships a company can take to war, in this battle it is where they can show all the strength they have. Companys are not obliged to participate The event takes place during 1 hour and 30 minutes, if there are still ships of all the participating companies, it will be up to you to have more ships and crew (players) Occurs on a fixed day and time of the week Only those companies that have a base in that territory can participate in this war Players who die can not return to that territory until the event is over The winning company will have full influence in the laws of the territory and will obtain all 40% of the profit of the whole system of rate that owns in that territory paid by the companys.     So we're right back to the Devs ignoring the player base AGAIN! Ghost Ships still spawning by the hundreds out to sea. When they need to be an EXTREMELY RARE SPAWN! LESS THAN 1% CHANCE! Skills system still sucks balls also, solo play is dead, small group play is dead.

    Tutorial: Tattoo's, Flags, and You! Hey everyone, After seeing the great work by u/Mijeman from this thread and seeing the comment from u/BurlyusMaximus, I felt like I needed to deep dive into the mechanics of being able to upload artwork. (Not everyone is as talented as Mijeman, I mean just look at this.) I've done a lot of customized content for APB (All Points Bulletin), POTBS (Pirates of the Burning Sea), just to name a few... and I'm looking forward to bringing more creations to Atlas as we move through early access and release! Now please forgive the roughness of this guide and it's images. I really just wanted to put this together so the community had a better idea on how to bring in images to customize their characters, companies, and ships. Please let me know if anything is unclear or if there are questions. Requirements outside of Atlas: ARKpnt Editor (Version 1.23 updated June 8, 2018) can be found here and on this thread, Photoshop/GIMP/Image editing software Character template which I made can be found here: Template 1 and Template 2 Character Template: So this is a rough mockup I made today. It was a little difficult as anytime I started adding a ton of color the game would disconnect me, I would come back and lost all my progress as well as my dyes. As you can tell it's not really complete, so hopefully we can get this fully fleshed out later. Alright, let's get to it! Step 1: Create a paintbrush. You'll need the following materials: 1 Hide 20 Thatch 1 Wood Step 2: Create some dye. I recommend just doing one color initially to set up your templates, then once you get the hang of things you can go nuts with color. Dye generally requires berries and a fully filled waterskin (100 units). Be sure to have a rain barrel, open the inventory slots of the barrel, place the skin into it, and it will fill (as long as the actual barrel has water available). Each 100% waterskin will yield 5 dyes of your chosen color. Step 3: Create your base file If you're going to make a tattoo, you'll need to equip the paintbrush and right click. This will open the bodypaint/tattoo window. Be sure you click 'Tattoo' at the bottom to change over. Go ahead and drag the dye over onto the paintbrush to apply the paint. Once the bar is filled you can then select the brush and start painting on your character. (Remember you don't have to waste a ton of paint or be fancy, we're just doing this so we can save over it.) Once that is complete, choose the 'Save Paint' button at the top. The game will then prompt you to enter in a name, go ahead and do that now and jot it down. If you're going to make a flag, you'll need to equip the paintbrush and left click your claim flag. It's a similar process so just follow along. Step 4: Find your file and prepare it in ARKpnt Remember the name you jotted down? No? Guess you'll have to go back and see what you called it... do you have it now? Awesome! You'll find these files in a folder similar to this path: Steam\SteamApps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved\MyPaintings Go ahead and fire up ARKpnt Editor and click on 'Load ARKpnt file' Load your basic .pnt file to establish the dimensions. This will be helpful when you go to re-upload the file. Step 5: Open the character template in your image editing software I apologize that it's so rough, but you can use this as your base for placement locations on your character. Be sure to take the image you want to use and overlay it where you want it to appear. Once you have your placement set, be sure to hide any other layers besides the tattoo you wish to use. Step 6: Convert the .png file to a .pnt file Go back into ARKpnt Editor and click on 'Load Image'. You'll now be using this program to open your .png file that you edited with your tattoo. Be sure to click 'Yes' when it asks you if you want it to reduce the colors (in the few tests I've ran, items just show better when this option is selected.) You should now see a large grey box and your tattoo! Let's go ahead and now click on 'Save as ARKpnt file'. You'll be using the program to SAVE OVER your base file that we quickly made in-game. Be sure you say that you're okay with saving over the file. Step 7: Get back ingame and apply your new tattoo! Go back into Atlas, use the paintbrush on yourself, and now click on the left icon to open the paint file. It should still retain the old name you gave it, but it should now allow you to apply the new design! Be careful, if you added tons of color and fancy stuff- it's going to eat up a LOT of dye. This is why I suggested starting out with something basic/easy. The game will automatically apply the new design, use up your dye, and you'll be sailing the seas in style from now on!     As an Ark addict (3 years 3k hours) I was excited to get this game. Unfortunately it is where Ark was in 2016 - 2017 and it is just not fun: Endless Host Connection Timed Out disconnects (with a ping of 49 mind you and no measurable packet loss) Uber-grindy and time consuming to craft the very basics - geared towards mega tribes OP aggressive animals with ridiculous aggro radii. No ability to increase player movement speed so cannot outrun the animals from point 3. Due to rarity of some materials I have to retrieve my corpse, which generally has the animal that killed me still there but now with full health for some reason even though I damaged it to near death. Snakes, spiders and scorpions can swim underwater. Snakes can fly when you climb rocks. Tigers and wolves run faster than me Spiders catch you in webs from a ridiculous distance and the groups of other animals finish you off Bows do not reload properly in battle, they stall on reload and you die You spend hours dying repeatedly at lower levels to get your gear back because metal is rare and exists in different forms There is a ridiculous cooldown on items when retrieved so you have no chance of fighting the animal again, and you cannot outrun it. 10 seconds cool down on the bow! Animals glitch through walls so much that they destroy items inside your base through the wall, and you can actually kill them inside as they are half thru the wall. It is just not entertaining, it is frustrating and disheartening to play. Now I know there will be keyboard heroes who say 'git gud' and 'stop being salty' but this is based on playing Ark from the 1st week it was released. The devs have dealt with all of these issues in Ark previously and should rightly have learnt from the experience. Yes this is early access, but it is also full of early glitches from Ark that had been fixed, yet here they are again. I would argue that this game has already seen a 3 year early access program with Ark, yet it has regressed significantly. This should not have been released in it's current form.

    Well after new patch you reduced stealing time from 1.5 hours to 30 minutes. I dont have enough time for defend my claim 24hour 7 days at week, what i must do? I reached 24 lvl, and one little guy, 7lvl, came to my island on Raft, and steal my territory when im bilogicaly sleeping. And send a message - "hahahahaha", what should i do now?(i have only 4 claimed territory for 2 man company, i think it's Ok, and i'm not hurt anyone's feeling.... How i can play further, when all my loot was stolen, only because i can't stay 24hours on server? Where i must build house, for what we need lawless regions? It can be normal in pvp maybe for big guilds, but in pve? When you just can't kill man, who stealing your territory.... Well, i think you must recreate claim system in PVE servers, max claims must be considered with numbers of players in company. And no fckng stealing. How can i stop stealing, when i can't kill a threat? How it must work?

    Ok, there is no more space left to build something. Been sailing from a freeport for 11 hours now and everything is spammed with foundations. Some island are empty, no people but also spammed with flags and foundations.. I know big alpha tribes who have built alot are gonna "cry" and yell its EA but yea its indeed EA and this is broken and needs a fix asap because EA or no EA the game NEEDS players and atm players are quiting. The mechanics should be balanced so people cannot spam islands with flags and foundations. Wipe is needed to clear everything and a clean sheet is needed.

    Tutorial for Custom-Image-Flags: Select your Favorite Image. Go to http://www.ark-survival.net/en/image-to-board-sign-pnt-converter/ Put in your Image into the Converter. Now Select "Canvas" in the Resolution 1x1 and klick on "Send" (Optional) Now u can choose a custom Color at "Set Colors" Press "Generate Preview" and download it. Thats the important step! Copy your Image or Drag it into [Atlas Folder -> ShooterGame -> Saved -> MyPaintings] and rename it like this: MyFlag_ClaimingFlag_C or Banana_ClaimingFlag_C or… it must end on: _ClaimingFlag_C Now u can get into the Game, select your Brush and run to your Claiming-Flag. Press the left Mouse Button on it and go to "Load Painting from this Type" in the Top left Corner. Now select your Flag. At last you Need to get your Colors (It will Show up on the Right side of your screen) Sorry for my bad english skills. I hope this will help you guys out, cause I didn't find any Tutorials online allready. Good Luck!

    Claims need to be limited to 1 per character, with a maintenance cost. In addition after so many hours if the clay. Isn't built on, it should expire. We've spent 14 hours now sailing, and found no claimable islands. players are claiming everything they come across, and it's then never used. I would also recommend adding another PvP and PvE server cluster to each region worldwide. No need to pack in so many players.

    It must be contagious guys. I got a bad case of “I feel tired I should probably go to bed”. Meanwhile on atlas some fucking dicksplash has smashed into my stone house and slaughtered me like a pig. After only 6 hours of coming away from the game. Devs. Get a grip. People have lives too. Sort it out.

    Please Admin kill all ghost ships. By my estimation we're at at least 22,500 Ghost ships across the world. That's 100 ships per sector. And the number is probably far greater. Please limit the ghost ships to MAX 5 per map. They shouldn't spawn as often as a Tuna.

    +1 This should have been mandatory learned from ARK. This and ORP should have been taken 100%. Trolling on PVE is only allowed while these bugs are still not addressed. Alot of people are suffering from these on PVE servers. This needs to be fixed ASAP!

    once you set foot on other islands you get shit upon from mobs. once you finally (AFTER DAYS OF WORK) get your medium ship, you get raped by a ghpst ship because apparently they spawn to hunt everything bigger than a raft how is this balanced ? how are you supposed to fight those if the only thing you can manage to get is the skills to build a ship ? guns are where down in the skill tree ? are we really expected to grind / die / rinse / repeat until we get enough skills to - have fortitude to max to survive conditions - have the skills to built tools and weapons - have the skills to build ships plus storage for stuff and water - have the skills to arm and use cannons ? what is that ? level 30 ? you devs want us to get our butt cheeks divided until that ? this game is impossible to play as a lone wolf. you will get fu/%&ed so hard. the game and the devs shit on you. they think endless grind is good. wake up call: it´s not. grind can be fun, IF ITS FREAKIN WORTH IT there´s a reason a lot of PVE players cry about private servers, and complain. the game is just a beat up everytime you play.

    You're right, they are ignoring us, even though there have been multiple daily patches addressing player feedback. Yeah, ghost ships need more tuning, but for all we know the ghost ships that remain were there prior to the reduction in spawn rate.

    I love the fact that there is a dynamic atlas to use, but its a bit hard when you need to try to count the clusters left to right then up to down to find your server. A simple gird with the server is small letters would suffice. To add on that, it was all be really helpful to get a lay out of what is going on in the cluster to either add a legend or label the free ports and lawless so we know that it is not a claimable server.

    First off, no one is forcing you to play this game. Those who are saying it's a terrible game, why are you playing it and commenting in the forums? Is it within your right to do so? Absolutely! But is it worth your time or anyone else's time? Not really. The reason you are still here hating is because you know it's a great game, just as we all do. Does it need some work? Again, absolutely! I guess that's why it's.... EARLY ACCESS. This game was not advertised as being released as a full fledged, bug free, completely balanced game. It was released as an early access game to give you the option of contributing to the game. So if you want to see positive change, then please contribute constructive criticism. And don't say, I posted constructive criticism on the forums 2 days ago and it hasn't been implemented. These things take time. The devs ARE listening to the community. I have been very impressed with the updates. We posted about Ships of the Damned, they listened. Do they still need tweaking? Sure, but that will come with time. At least they have done SOMETHING with it. Again, no one is forcing you to play, so either quit it with your toxicity and help turn an already great game in to an amazing game, or GTFO. Thanks

    I am not sure the game designer in charge of PvE but they are either incompetent or ignored in prioritizing issues. Fireplaces, smithy's not being lockable? Boats sinkable via dropping items on a boat by random griefer? Probably a few dozen other tricks. No reporting ability to moderate griefers in game? I respect that WC wants to play to the alpha tribes in PvP in Ark. I hoped that Atlas had paid attention to lessons learned and would react in Atlas. So far, not planning on any DLC for this game. Too much time lost with no recourse in game due to the lack of anti-griefer tools.

    hopefully this isn't already posted 100 times on here already but, Is running into 7, i repeat 7, Pirate of the damned ships/Ghost ships with in 2-3 mins of each other really how this games spawning mechanic is supposed to work? we avoided 4 ships barely as the first spawned off our right side , then the second straight ahead taking away most the wind. then a 3rd ship off to our left effectively taking away all the wind lanes and surrounding us with all ships spawning 400-500 meters out. we thread the needle of the ship on our right and center as we near the N4/N5 boarder as the 4th ship spawns left and starts to circle left and makes a pretty abrupt turn right and aggro's toward us as we cross the boarder. it follows through the server line and is about 80% accurate on shots as you guessed it we make it through about 4-5 volleys of fire 2 more ships spawn ahead left and right of us . only option is keep the wind at our back and full sail to out run . we out run the original enough the cannons our falling short only to have both ships on our left and right to aggro and we start taking on water, repair, and have a final 7th ship spawn ahead of us and finishing us off sinking it. so really love that in a 5 min span we have to deal with 7 ships in less than 5 min . I feel like this is a pretty absurd amount of POTD/Ghost ships in such a small distance and to have them in such a small amount of space to react. I'm assuming this is not an isolated incident but would like to hear either way what everyone's experience is so far on actual ships that are not rafts .

    little reward returned ? did I missunderstood anything ? we are supposedly gettig rewrads for taking down ghost ships. so doing so with no invest at all (melee) is the biggest reward.. unless you meant something else.. (it sure is not rewarding gamewise to use melee when it should be cannons) btw: 10 metal ?? 10 ??? oh my god. so carrying ammo for ship means no more space for goods and cargo. great job also: small ships are literally helpless against those ships anyways. I mean whatguns are we supposed to put on sloops ?

    We had triple layered walls with 2 layers of gates and 2 NPCs defending and we went offline for less than 4 hours to have our base raided and 4k gold taken. Grapeshot, we need offline raiding protection. I put up with the SOD, I put up with the lag and rubberbanding, but I'm not playing this game anymore until you guys fix this crap system. I can't, and no one in my crew, can stay online 24/7 and play this game like a job to keep our stuff safe. Unbelievable stuff

    I get that this is early early "we see if the concept works" access or "lets do an engine demo" MMO, ridden with bugs. Still fine with that. I get that i will lose stuff over and over due to bugs (and so far this game is a raft simulator). Still fun, i like the concept and im willing to put up with a lot. But the fact that you dont acknowlegde the problem with Chinese players is a dealbreake. They are on a rampage claiming/stealing everything they can. Maybe somewhat fitting for PvP.. but a joke for PvE. If your plan was to create a chinese MMO and you think that kiting Alphas onto players/bases and sinking ships using exploits is engaging fun gameplay... well congratulations. Goal achieved. Customers who buy your game right now cant even actually play it. there simply is NO land to claim left.

    If this is what they think, they're crazy. Using a broken game mechanic is not "being a pirate". It's being an ass. The mechanic is either broken or so poorly designed my cat could have done better. If you can't retaliate against another player, you shouldn't have a mechanic (broken or otherwise) that lets you sink someone's ship. In PvE, the competition against other players needs to be economic and social, not physical.

    Bull Crap! Did you even read his post? Obviously not. EA/ALPHA is not an excuse for things like this. This game is an ARK mod whether you like it or not. As the OP said, much of this was already addressed in ARK, so why is it back again here? A lot of these things were simply not well thought out. As if the devs don't even play the games they make. Here's a clue. How long do you think a ship will last in a shipyard, once the Mega tribes get bored? Not long. They will go out hunting and blowing up nearly complete Galleons, Brigantines, and Schooners. How long do you think people will play a pirate game, when it feels more like ARK with no Dinos? How much common sense does it take to understand that they needed to have Safe Harbors to put your ship in while you log off? How much common sense does it take to NOT make ships decay away in one day? It won't do that in your claim area? Well aren't you the genius to point out another ridiculous game mechanic...if that is what you were going to say. The simple fact is, this game is a great idea, with very poor execution. Classify it as WTH were they thinking?

    Piling onto this thread. PvP is the domain of the griefers, not PvE. I know WC loves their PvP players over PvE but you are shutting down a whole segment of DLC buying customers if you go after only the testosterone driven PvP users. Blending the two together would be fine - give an area to scratch some PvP itches, sure. Not in a fireplace or smithy though.

    Oh yes. Let's implement a system that makes it nigh on impossible to effectively PvP in any remotely coherent sense because you are completely incapable of fighting for land because the second you do, you unclaim half your base and a bob claims it while you're PvPing. I get people are salty because, for whatever reason, they are incapable of fighting for land, or even circumventing the need for it, but come on. Think about your suggestions a bit more before throwing out suggestions that break the very concept and founding principles of the game itself.

    Land claiming sounds fine and interesting in theory but upon execution it is an incredibly frustrating system that holds the game back. It allows small groups to control vast amounts of lands with very little risk and great reward. A approximity based system like Arks makes for a much fairer and rewarding system than what Atlas has. Failing to take land and losing your spawn, only to be placed back in a free port to farm, travel, and prepare for another attempt at a land grab is a game ruining system. Expectially when the process takes multiple hours. The player should at least have a chance to establish himself within the game and be granted the chance to play something besides the starting zone before a mega tribe flattens him. Even if he is only around for a no more than 24 hours. I play in a small group and I know that inherently disqualifies me for end game play, and that is fine, but repeating the same process for multiple days now is far beyond frustrating. I'm I the only one that feels this way?

    Personally i dont really care anymore...its pretty obvious the Devs ignore most of these Threads. I know other game Companies having at least some Forum Moderators as a middle way to communicate between Developers and Community. But here...well well. I wouldnt even complain much about the new reworked Skilltree and requirements of Points you need to unlock a new Skill if they have made it just like Ark. When you played in Ark in a group you got EXP for everything you and your group did. Chopping wood, Getting Stone or Flint, collecting fibers blabla...in Atlas you actually just get some points for Hunting. But my main Focus for complaining is actually still the Spoiling of Food. This is just ridiculous. You hunt an Animal, get the meat and 1 meat has a spoiling time of 10min. You gonna Cook the meat which should preserve it actually longer...nope 10mins spoiltime. Even worse Farming. This Skill is personally totally useless. You place some Large plots somewhere plant like Wheat in it....it takes a couple of hours to grow and when you harvest it...it spoils after only 5minutes??? So and for all who wanna know why nothing is working ...check the pic lol...

    So to use the diving suit all you need to do is put oil into the diving attachment on your ship and an option to equip the suit will come up when you hover over it. it will unequip your armor and shield when it equips.

    And go make a game to learn about the process. They said EA. It is. They said a 2 year development process, its been 6 days. So rather than just insulting people to make a point, provide proof. Right now they are still making daily patches, every one of which addresses player feedback. And this through a Christmas holiday. Sorry the game isnt ready for you, but they told you prior to your buying it that it would be 2 years to get it ready.

    Yeah in my experience the entire taming process needs an overhaul. I like the bola idea in concept but its way to hard as it is currently implemented. Why does a bola only last 1.5 mins? Why would something want to be tame around me and follow my commands after i beat it senseless multiple times and let it back up to keep beating it, thats just sadistic. Whats wrong with just caging or tying something up to feed it randomly to build trust or something, really anything but what the current system is.
