  1. that next wipe will be my last time in this forever EA game. All they do they do totally wrong!!! they must go back at day one version of game and just fix bugs and let game stay like this. But making pointless content cause few streamers wanting it is totally stupid and thats why this game is doomed and boring.
  2. Did they not say.....and please correct me if I'm wrong....that they won't wipe servers unless they absolutely need to? It seems to me like they broke things in the game so badly that they can't fix them without wiping, all under the guise of "hey look, we're going to wipe the servers to give you another thing (pyramid) that nobody wanted or cared for! " They figure that if they wipe the servers, the stuff that is broken will work better with their version of a fix -- partially fix said item(s) break even more. GG Atlas devs.
  3. EDIT: Floatsam / Flotsam. Floatsam is the archaic variant of Flotsam according to Merriam-Webster. Be careful with the ini and settings below, because both Flotsam and Floatsam are used in different places within Atlas, and using float instead of flot (or vice versa) in the wrong place will cause errors I searched a good bit but was never able to find a solid answer. So I played around with the ini config we use in Ark. Searched through many uasset files in the primalearth content folder. And was finally able to figure it out after a lot of test and fail. It's pretty much the exact same as Ark, but I had to figure out the exact itemstring for flotsam. I'll break down the code and explain each part for those who never did this on Ark. At the end I'll post the complete code I use for my play server First: You have to tell it which loot table you're overriding. This will completely override it, so anything that normally spawns in that piece will no longer. SupplyCrateClassString is the item that you're overriding the loot table for. It can be anything from animal loot drop, boss drop, flotsam, sunken treasure, etc etc. Anything that can drop loot. For this, we're using PrimalInventoryBP_SupplyCrate_Floatsam_C, the loot inventory for flotsam. Later, we're going to add in itemsets. Sets are like categories. If you want to keep it simple and easy, you can put only 1 itemset and include everything in that set. Then the loot table will randomly choose X amount of items from that set. That could be a problem if you wanted, let's say, to always have an amount of gold in the loot, but also have a chance to give a piece of armor, weapon or tool. In that case, you would end up making 2 itemsets to be included in this single suuplycrateclassstring. But we'll go over adding item sets later. For now, let's continue to look through this one line. MinItemSets and MaxItemSets are exactly what they sound like. When we list out itemsets later, this is the part that determines how many different sets will be included in the loot. This one currently shows a MinItemSet of 2 and a MaxItemSet of 2. That's because in this example, I only have 2 itemsets that will be shown later. And I want to make sure each set will always be in the loot. Why I want that will be explained later when we talk about adding itemsets. NumItemSetsPower is the power of the items. It's ideal to leave this as 1, because it can be multiplied using a different ini config setting: SupplyCrateLootQualityMultiplier bSetsRandomWithoutReplacement=true means that each set can only appear once per loot. As we know, we'll be adding 2 itemsets later. And because our MinItemSet and MaxItemSet are 2, if this was false, there's a chance the 1st set would appear twice, meaning the 2nd set wouldn't be in that loot drop. We don't want that. So setting this to true, each set can only appear once in that loot, ItemSets= is where we list our item sets. For this example, the 1st itemset is a single item. Gold. And the 2nd itemset is full of each type of armor, weapon and tool. The reason for this is that you saw above, each itemset will be in the loot. And since the 1st is only gold and nothing else, it can't randomly select anything from that list except for gold, and so gold will always be in the loot. And the 2nd itemset being armor, weapons and tools. It will randomly pick X amount of items from that list (Which we'll go over how to set that amount later). And include those in the loot in addition to the gold. Now for the ItemSets= You'll notice some similarities to the part above. MinNumItems and MaxNumItems are for this single itemset. This is the 1st one, which will only have gold in it. So there only needs to be 1 for both min and max. NumItemsPower is the same as above, ideal to leave it at one. But if you want to really customize this particular set instead of all loot across the board, raising this would increase the quality of all items in this list. SetWeight in this example is pretty useless because both sets will always be included in the loot. But lets say you end up having 5 different sets of items, and you want the loot to only include 2 random sets. The weight is the chance this set would be included. The higher the value, the more likely it is to be included in the loot. You could also keep it simple and use percentage. 1.0 would be 100% chance this is included of the other sets. Or 0.5 would be there's a 50% chance it'll be selected over the other sets. The value in this example doesn't matter since both sets will be included regardless. bItemsRandomWithoutReplacement=true is the same as above. It means that if we had a bunch of items listed in this set. But only allowed the loot to pick 3 of them. It will make sure the same item couldn't be picked more than once. Or setting it to false means there's a chance the same item can be randomly picked multiple times. ItemEntries= is where we'll list our items to be picked. Ok, this is where EntryWeight will become important. This 1st set only has gold, so it doesn't matter here. But the next set has a bunch of items listed. And EntryWeight will allow us to give certain items a higher chance of being included. ItemClassStrings= is the item we want to include. For this line, we're including gold, PrimalItemResource_GoldCoin_C. I'm not entirely sure the different in entryweight and itemweight, since every item listed will have both. So in lists that have multiple items, I keep the entryweight and itemweight the same. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable on that could explain the difference. MinQuantity and MaxQuantity are what they sound like. How much you want it to randomly include. For gold, I have it set to randomly have between 10 and 50 per flotsam. But you can set that to your liking. If you were listing an item such as armor or a tool. You would want both those to be 1. You don't want to open a loot and see 50 hatchets lol MinQuality and MaxQuality are also how they sound. The quality of the item. Gold doesn't have a quality, so it's set to 0. But the higher you increase it, the higher quality the item will be (Fine, Mastercraft, Legendary, Mythical, etc). bForceBlueprint=false is whether or not you want this to always be a blueprint. Gold has no blueprint, so false here. But let's say you want loot that only gives blueprints, this would be set to true for each item listed. Even though it's false, you can still have it randomly choose to make it a blueprint or the actual item with the next setting. ChanceToBeBlueprintOverride=0 If bForceBlueprint is set to false, you can change this value to a percentage. If we change it to 0.5, then there's a 50% chance the item will be a blueprint in the flotsam and 50% chance it'll be the already crafted version of that item. And that includes that itemset. The ))), at the end is how you know that set is done and the next set is about to be listed. Here is the next set: And you were suddenly critically hit by walloftext. But don't be intimidated. It's actually pretty simple. There's alot in that section because it has all the loot that COULD be in the flotsam. This is just multiple copies of the same line. So this is the 2nd set. You can look over it line by line and see everything that was explained in the 1st set. In this one, you'll notice that we have MinNumItems=1,MaxNumItems=3. Which means that of everything listed here, there's a chance that 1-3 of them will be included in the flotsam. All the entryweight/itemweights are the same, so every item has an equal chance of being picked for those 1 to 3 items. All of the quotes above are for reference and explanation. You don't want to try and copy and paste to piece it all together. Because a single space, comma or parenthesis out of place will cause errors on server boot. So here is the entire line to add to your config.ini The entire code to copy/paste into your game.ini file. You must include it in the game.ini for every region of your server if you're running a grid   5. Build a silo and place it at your base. Fill the silo with berries. Your crew should be fine eating from the silo for weeks (unless they nerfed silos recently). Silos will feed and pay all your crew on that island or on ships anchored at it. Just fill it with berries and gold. Bears eating potatoes from a few troughs should last a few days on the trough and a couple more on their stomach. P.s. I think I saw a dev post in the past about a farmhouse. If I remember it acts just like the silo but for tames. A bulk feeding device. Maybe that comes out soon. I could be wrong.

I spent six months on this game and over two different xboxes just specifically for this one game yall took a good thing and are literally ruining it we had a community we had friendships and trades and all sorts of stuff ourselves sure the content wasn't great but it still wont be yall took what we had and are literally crapping on it good for you I doubt I'll be part of that just so you can screw me later with another "necessary " wipe to add more bull crap amd take away the great parts of the game that made this a place I wanted to be part of guarantee you ruin everything i loved about this game while not fixing anything that was wrong time will tell but past dev's said they would fix things and only "fixed" minor stuff that was helpful to us the players and made the rest of the game lag central and loosing of tames wayyyyy worse once again I hope I'm wrong so restore my faith and you'll have a player for life though next time before you screw us how about a little more notice so we actually have time to do end game stuff if we haven't yet for all those daily grinders who never did end game stuff because they wanted to build an empire or have a million tames in short dont just lie to us about how you are gonna do all these great things then not deliver and if that's how yall are gonna do business I'll be taking my business else where

  9. Just seen more people complain about the taming, and to say it right away, theres nothing wrong with the taming, just because you have to work a little dosnt mean its broken? Finaly some work compared to ark... 1. You will get the "feed" icon if the animals head is poking outside the wall, but you cant feed it that way, you must stand on the foundation the main body is to feed it, if you dont get the icon there, its because you bolaed the animal at the wrong position, do it again! (Release the animal so you dont get the negative feeding) 2. Stand on the side the leggs are(bellow the animals) go as close to the belly as possible, and slightly press "W" to you get the icon. Dont go straigt towards the head and cry about it giving you a love tap on youre face, then you do it wrong. 3. Only animal that is hard to tame atm is the giraffe, but hey, its a long neck with a large swing.. 4. stop crying, the taming is perfectly fine.. Hope this will help you understand more of the taming process.
  10. Yes, lots is wrong with the game. At this point they need to start fixing a few of those things and stop removing or nerfing what is not broke. Nothing wrong with the bear, leave it alone. Plenty of stuff wrong. Why pick on something that people use because it works well? The biggest problem with tames is there is no way to keep them safe that really works well. The bear is strong enough it can defend itself and other tames you have, so people sometimes just leave it on the ground next to a building. They may tether it to another tame (on follow) so it doesn't get aggro'd too far away. If you manage to get your tames up and in a safe spot, they tend to just fall through the floor and get stuck in stuff. What a pain.

It sounds like you're referring to ships of a similar size but different hull lengths, but a 100 ton schooner will be much faster than a 1000 ton galleon, there's just no way around it. I'd hope they continue to expand the types of ships to allow for more types of boats like speed cutters, there is so much untapped potential, but I think with the current dynamics of sailing it wont matter. Ships come in all shapes & sizes, but the galleons in game are like 15x the size of schooners. There is no way they would be faster than a a schooner & yes; in a game you can pick & choose what elements of reality and fantasy you have. It's my personal opinion that implementing this element of sailing will improve the game. You don't have to share that opinion, but you are wrong about the dynamics of sailing. While you are wrong, I'll respect your right to be happily wrong. I'm not a sailor, but I did stay at a holiday inn...
  12. I will take it a step further. I think theyre manipulating the numbers. The game was 'bronze' (whatever that means) for December when it went on sale. Meaning it didnt sell a whole lot of copies. It didnt even make the 2018 list. That means to me anyway (since people want to use 'stats') that overall it didnt sell many copies. I said I didnt think it sold 75K. Even though at its peak it was close to 60K on steam charts. But not hard to believe that 80% of everyone who bought it were playing or trying to play it when it became stable enough to stay connected. Especially when 200K plus people were sitting on twitch streamer channels on the (first) night it was (supposed) to be released. Everyone of them manipulated in some way shape or form to have way more viewers than they 'should' have had. Fistofthewalrus most notably. his 'normal' viewership is around 400-500 the night of one of these 'special' events he had over 11K. That scream bots obviously. Now people will claim its 'impossible' for the numbers to be manipulated. All I can say to that is LOL. While obviously Atlas shouldnt be the center of some big 'conspiracy' theory. It stands to reason it was a con job from jumpstreet. With its only defense the ever popular 'its early access'. Which people (defenders of any particular game) excuses anything and everything thats 'wrong' with it. The fake trailer was the first giveaway and even the special preview event showed how farcical that thing was. If I didnt know any better I would say they let Chris Roberts shoot it for them He is the king of movie making and claiming its 'in game footage'. But everyone who knew anything knew (or should have known) the official servers would be garbage. With exactly every problem they saw happening. Hacks, cheats, land grabbing, offline raiding, anything and everything that was bad about Ark happened in Atlas. But nope its all ok because its 'early access'. They could possibly have had any clue any of that would happen even though it did (and still is) happening in their flagship game. The one this game was actually a DLC for. So it comes down to a lot of guesses and seemingly contradictory thinking. But I dont think its a stretch to think they have the ability to add a certain number of 'players' to the steam chart count, and even with those the numbers have cratered. But considering the game and where its gone and what it is now compared to what it was when it was even not a joke to think it was 'popular' (at least FoTM) 25K at peak is actually quite impressive, thats why I think theyre 'faking' them. Because I cant think that a third of the people who bought it are still bothering to log in with any regularity. And had they sold THAT many copies the game would have made the list of top selling games of 2018. Even if it only released 10 days or so before the end of the year. Thats why I say there is plenty of 'data' and circumstantial 'evidence' but nothing concrete. Just like every other MMO before where people liked to make up numbers (to support whatever argument they were making) as to how 'successful' or 'fail' a new game was. But with Atlas we have hard numbers on some but guessing on others. Since they havent had a press release about how awesome sales were then I will assume they were shit. I would also say that of the 75K sales I think they had 10% of those refunded it. Now the game has been put on sale twice now since its was released and I am sure it will go on sale every month until it does release. So they maybe recouped a few of those refunds but given the word of mouth this thing has gotten and the disappearing (free) advertising and the streamers leaving the officials for private servers or outright leaving the game completely theyre not getting those collateral sales. Streamers who promoted this trash and conned their subs (or worse conning viewers to sub) to play with them sold a lot of copies I would imagine. But as predicted theyre all gone and ironically most are off playing the new Sea of Thieves update. Game has/had potential problem is the wrong company is making it and on the wrong engine.

  14. I've unlocked primitive construction, construction and mercantilism, as well as all the way down to Metallurgy and still can't find the thatch building pieces or the smithy. Am I doing something wrong or is this an issue in single player? Also, to be able to view the map...is that also something that needs to be unlocked because my atlas map is black and my handheld is white.

What I really loved about this game is the pvp and pve its fine. sure bugs but its great. building things ships look great. BUT: please I do not understand maybe you all can help me maybe its my ignorance I am sorry but We the players have great ships look period? accurate. then we have the SOTD... neon bone like speedboats? When I see them feels like I'm about to see like party people and airhorns and rum ham........ Why not make the enemy npc like real ships that the players use? and boarding npc ships? And now on to the foot soldiers of the damned?? They look at least to me, Alien exoskeleton glowing? skeleton pirate monsters? Why cant they be like us the players like people? maybe make gangs/groups of npc pirate company/hordes/gangs? That sail the seas? Like in some ways the single player mode npc pirates? Lastly, I know people will stone me because its not an mmorpg....... Could we have like a a few grids that are both pvp and pve and all players can attack npc lands, they too could have timers? make it hard. make it worth the raid. other companies could cross fire backstab during raid would be chaos... but glorious pvp :) Secondly along that grid or in it a huge island a main town of sorts full of npc/player shops. taverns, basically a place to congregate and show off :) (see below) oh and of course it would be lovely to have so be it cosmetic only gear to wear outfits, hats.... the period of flintlock had beautiful attire for gentlemen and ladies. So on that big "Town Island" all players could meet up , maybe an area where all can gather and watch a pvp duel with flintlock/swords? or pve duel? or both! I feel this town would attract more players, maybe in my mind only maybe not. just my opinion. I could be totally wrong it could be a bad idea who knows.. Have taverns drunk drinking games, you guys like to implement eye twitching fast click the mouse button mini games? so why not something like where all players can meet up and play a mini game? I dont know. Meh forget the whole thing.

  21. They really just need to reduce them to a minimum value spawning for now. Like don't try to balance or do a decent number, just crazy low. Than after debugging and balancing and figuring out whever the hell is wrong with their spawn code, THAN try to set it for what they want in-game. When you know there should only be 3 lions and there's 7, obviously something's wrong. Hard to tell when you have a giant orgy of broken buggy animals about just where the problem lies. This bit and pieces stuff just doesn't work with so much wrong, especially changing with just where you live, it's just not fun.

  24. Okay. I think I figured out what was wrong. I didn't add code to increase my levels. Now that I have done that, creatures at level 120 spawned in will gain experience. Now, I need to figure out what to set level difficulty to in order to get level 120 creatures.
  25. Dismantling would involved not make a mistake I the first paragraph, that being "the mechanic isn't in the game yet". WRONG! It is in the game, we're aging. The mechanic, in it's current iteration, is IN the game. Is it fully implemented? Probably not. What is currently in the game, I disagree with. From what is in the game, and the obvious trajectory they're heading with this mechanic, I will say It is bad. So when you say i'm basing it off assumption, i'm not. I'm saying what is currently in the game, I don't like. I'm saying what I've heard they have planned, I don't like. "Descendants of the fallen magical kingdown" = "age mechanic ties into the lore significantly" No. Once again, I could bring up any game that has characters who age that do not have an age mechanic. So how does being "descendants" equate to "tied into the lore". It doesn't. You just need it to have any hope of proving me wrong, which you won't, because you already know there are games that mention descendants, and do not have age mechanics. Until you can prove that isn't true, you can't prove me wrong on that point. The information you posted is on the steam page. Everyone already knows that. I know that. All of my arguments were made with this information already in mind. And no, nothing in there suggests an age mechanic is core to the game in any shape or form. Right, the game isn't about pirating.. Except, it is. That doesn't mean you have to be a pirate, it merely means that is the core concept of the game. The core concept of the game, like ark, is survival and progression. The theme of the game, is pirating.. The game even has the leather armor give you a pirate's hat for goodness sake. Now when I say the them is "pirating", I mean the era of pirating. It is HEAVILY inspired by that, and to say otherwise is ridiculous. Did I ever say I wasn't trying to get the devs to change the game? No. I'm saying people don't want to lose their characters, and people don't want their characters not to look the way they want them to look. I'm saying that will harm the game more than just doing away with the mechanic altogether, and if people want to change their character for whatever reason, let them breed away. You call that dismantling? You can't dismantle me with that level of argument. If aging was core to the game, and not some fluff, it would already be in the game, even in early access. A core mechanic is something you basically can't have a game without. You can have this game without aging. It is already good without it. We don't need it, and I think most probably don't want it either.
