3 pointsLook if we lose players on official pvp because they cant offline raid anymore then that is for the best. there will be plenty of private servers where you can offline raid each other. Have fun with that. see, i live for pvp content, but id much rather fight people instead of just blowing up ships that are anchored and causing misery to those who arent even online to feel it yet. the changes proposed are gonna force you to actually fight PEOPLE. I know, it's so sad.

3 pointsWhat a surprise with an announced wipe Lol Someone is waiting for PTR (to test how claiming will work etc.), everyone else for WIPE. Anarchy patch was fine but for like a week. It´s not about fault. It´s about wipe happening. They knew wipe would come and they announced it to players asap. Do u want them to be silent about the need of wipe and tell you 3 days before wipe? I think u would bitch like hell.

3 pointsThe problem I see is the people that quit because they couldn't cut it under the old rules are just going to quit again when they get wrecked and lose their safe space. This update is going to give the mega tribes more protection while making it harder to live on lawless, which is where most small companies are. Sprinkle in some limits on allys so the small groups can't get any real numbers together for battle and big tribes can't ally with you because they don't have slots and this seems like a recipe for disaster.

2 pointsIve come to a conclusion. we are missing rivers. Some islands have streams and waterfalls but I haven't yet seen a river where boats can sail to an inland harbour. Would make an interesting way of getting boats built away from the coast. They would have to be deep enough and wide enough for the larger ships to go through but it would also provide for folk to use the inner parts of islands and sail down the river to the coast. And yes I have thought about how some folk would block the river mouth.

2 pointsHow do you "doom and gloomers" have the energy to keep coming back to these forums to post your unfounded and unreasoned tripe? Why don't you do what everyone else does when they think a game is dead? i.e. Go play something else. I hear Apex is good.
-
2 pointsI blame the way it steers/moves. Kudos for realism, but gods it blows to row that thing solo. lol
-
2 pointsI wouldn't be surprised if the companies on the islands used the arenas as their meeting spot tbh. Would add a very enjoyable RP element in a company/alliance. Might even inspire more Visually pleasing rp buildings among the in game culture. Rp and pvp go very good together. idk why people think rp is only for pve
-
2 pointsThat looks a lot like Congress/Parliament. wait... you said fight club. same thing.
-
2 pointsSo you can´t PvP without war token, then answer me: What are those 9 hours windows every day where you can raid someone without limits and even build on his Settlement? How is PvP limited on Lawless areas? How is PvP limited on the sea? Problem with you is that u think PvP = offline raiding Grow some balls jesus christ.

2 pointsI think it is. I still have my red party hat i cracked open from a christmas cracker on christmas day, 2001 in runescape. I swear the glory of it being a rare item wearing it around and basically having a cult following that would suck me off if i let them barrow the hat, kept me in the game for 19 years. Would be awesome to have something like that in atlas.
-
2 points1.If someone shot back...I seriously doubt you would have continued the fight anyways. 2. You said you and your friends are gonna quit if they don't revert the changes so you don't have to worry about it. 3.Nothing wrong with a nice looking base. As long as you have your goodies in a bunker...It often attracts newb raiders to exactly where you want them to go. Especially ones in giant zergs who think they are a lot smarter than they actually are.
-
2 pointsLazy players are protected Lol. You mean players who are not online 24/7? Jesus man, just stop. You are embarrasing yourself. Go play ARK and offline someone if it brings you such a joy to offline someone. No more offline raids in Atlas, sorry to tell you, you are the minority. This killed me man. So now "strategic surprise and tactical option" is a name for offline raiding People are really creative while defending their offline raiding

2 pointsAs to my personal opinion on how many will come back post wipe, I think we'll see most of the 50k concurrent we had at launch.. Then we'll drop off to ~30 and work our way up from there. Plenty of potential, but as dollie said, its a long pipeline so...

2 pointsYour giant zerg will be able to overrun most islands by buying tokens . Get over it. There will be pvp on the seas. The fun kind with actual people. You want the zerg kind with your giant mob jumping one or two randoms here and there. Wow...fun. Most people find that boring as fuck anyways bro Buy a token drop your war.. zerg the smaller clans down..which you wil, with huge numbers. At least they will have a chance to fight now. Lots of clans wont be able to have numbers on for even the full 9 hours straight.. you'll still have a chance to win some battles yourself while people sleep. You can even pretend you are still a pvper.

2 pointsI am with you on this. PvP servers are about freedom. Freedom to kill who you want when you want, raid bases when you want and to constantly have the threat of danger of it happening to you. That's what makes it fun. I agree with you on all points. I am one of those people and yes there are alot of us who will endure whatever because we enjoy all aspects of "PvP Server" Our servers are being converted into half pve, no longer survival imo. However, a survival mmo from a business standpoint can't support this ruleset. But look at pve, it was just as bad with numbers so where did all those people go. The real reason this game is lacking is from lack of pve. Ships not being durable enough so they get sunk at night. Bases easily raidable and not strong enough walls by taking one flag and dropping mortars. And we are in the gimme gimme generation. Games like this need wolves and sheep to be able to coexist like ARK did. So while I think you are right and atlas will die, I will try the changes, hopefully they aren't as carebear as at first glance. But I have my doubts. Now we have servers that are half PVE and full PVE. Thats it, no more sneak attacks on larger forces, no more harbor raids. Half the fun is out the window. The freedom is gone. My clan was not once raided on our main bases until the wipe announcement when everyone quit after the wipe announcement. Ships sunk yes, raided no.

2 pointsim gonna build a fight club on every majorly populated island where any company can participate. Ima host a discord for setting up fights and live bets. Its gonna be hot.

2 pointsAlso still no word on Discovery Points and Player Characters. Anyone who played much knows the real deal is in Discovery Points and not in XP. We need current characters discovery points kept either actually, or just as a raw number. As to the PvE changes, does this mean there is only 1 'flag' per island? (You claim an entire island?) How are they going to stop resource points being griefed if people can still build anywhere within a claim? What most PvE players want is the CURRENT flag system (minus the sea flags) but with a REALLY low cap like 1 player = 1 flag Companies: 2-3 player = 2 flags 4-5 players = 3 flags 6-10 players = 4 flags 11-25 players = 5 flags 26-50 players = 6 flags 51-100 players = 7 flags 101-150 players = 8 flags 151-200 players = 9 flags 200+ players = 10 flags Is there still building health decay? Cause that was another silly idea, can you imaging trying to repair a really intricate building. Flags should also cost resources / day AND should cost resources to BUILD the frikken flag to start with.

1 pointnot even 1k ppl online at weekend on official network so yeh for that people who keep dream woaa people will come back this game went to bottom … ^^ how much u think they will come back ? 1k maybe? still for 4 offi servers with capacity of 40k players each that's nothing . worst management ever game had future devs buried it . live statistic for each svr : https://atlasgame.info/

1 pointI have been practicing Painting the boat, I think i have mastered mostly the speed sails, I am having a bit of a problem with handling sails, I cant seem to rotate to paint the sail.... any tips would be awesome I would also like to see others paint jobs on there sails

1 pointThere you have it folks. Not only is he NOT hardcore, he is also not to be trusted. His word means nothing. Thanks for outing yourself.
-
1 pointi am good i am gonna solo it on my sloop
-
1 pointThat's probably because they don't want everyone to have land. All pirate tales tell of island governors, good and bad. - is it bad to try and replicate this? All communities need a leader, is every member of your company a leader? if not you are already in your eye's a slave or a slaver.
-
1 pointTo be honest I would rather get attacked by aimbotters and duper’s while I am online then by some cowards while I am offline. offline raiders are far worse than any cheater.
-
1 pointtakes maybe 30 mins to a dedicated server up and running then u have your own server to play on ,stop being so i want everything handed to me there are planty of guides to help go follow them , and make one yourself

1 pointYep as I have said many times these changes are not to the benefit of small companies. I played ARK for years from the first week of release until Atlas came out. In that time I was in several mega tribes but I also played a solid year as a sort of guerrilla in a very successful small 5 man team. I can tell you the differences in the way you have to approach the game between the two are vast. A giant chasm in many respects. Life in a mega tribe is on the whole pretty casual and laid back. On the other hand if you are in a small tribe you really need to pick your fights well and do a lot of groundwork before raids to maximize your advantage. One of the reasons we were successful against larger tribes in ARK was in part because we always had the advantage of surprise. We chose the time and place where we would attack, they had no idea we would be coming. We did a lot of recon on enemy bases, worked out their weak/blind spots and chose our targets carefully. With these new changes to Atlas however it is no longer possible to have the element of surprise. Do the devs really expect a small company of 20 to buy an expensive war token to declare war on a tribe of several hundred and have the faintest hope of succeeding? It really is quite out of the question. These changes will be a disaster for smaller companies, they will be reduced to the status of perpetual defenders. Never able to go on the offensive always on the back foot defending.
-
1 pointI think they want you back. I know I as a player want you back, the game is only fun if people play it. But I understand some people are upset and I do understand why.
-
1 pointEnd of atlas? are you joking.. maybe the end of some of the meta groups but it wont end.
-
1 pointFrom my experience having the grid (ocean) temperature and the correct island name like the grid on official servers is the best bet to get identical resources on that island then on official. If your grid temperature is different it will generate other resources.
-
1 pointI'd argue that you are wrong, this is the argument pve players make. There are pro's and con's to offline raidng. Yes sometimes people offline raid to exterminate an enemy quietly and quickly. Our alliance always setup primetime raids though. Not everyone is so honorable. Big alliance vs big clan is usually prime time events tho. If you have a small house, small clan, you are going to get offlined tho. This game isnt meant for small clans. Our clan combatted this by having all time zone people. So multicultural crew to avoid being offlined, whats hard about that?
-
1 pointwe are not active anymore, and we will not play at ptr fase. its pointless to play and get wiped again. just put the new patch to live servers, and patch stuff overthere. make it like ark, with better defence structures for offline protection. we left the game immediatly after the wipe anouncement. we are NOT going to farm bases, boats and stuff. it will be a waste of time AGAIN! the devs cant ask players to invest/waste their time, to test the game. otherwise make a payout to the players.
-
1 pointI'm too tired to read unsupported wishtheory. And yet I did. I think I'll go around today telling people the moon is made of green cheese. If they don't wanna accept that they shouldn't try to argument against it.

1 pointThis is good information to have, I got my server 2 days ago, I am setting up now. I did not get it to host an unofficial, I basically got it to be a sandbox for mods. So I am planning on running mine fairly light weight, I will not have more than 3-5 players on at once testing. That said, I have been looking into how much cpu/ram is required on different setups. I have been scouring the interweb for information, found a lot in cp64 streams. I want to scale down my map so it runs lighter thus allowing me to host more grids (I am looking into more ship and ocean based gameplay, so I am looking to host a few tiles of just ocean). When I get setup I will add my info here.
-
1 pointIs this some kind of human language ? Contribute to the topic please. Fact is, live servers are empty, devs stopped communication with the community and players are frustrated. Best option would be to show some balls and drop wipe & slavery patch. Or wipe immediatelly, bring the slavery patch live and save costs for the PTR. Improvements can be done during live phasis as well.

1 pointHer post is like poetry to me, I don't know if she intended it or not. The name of the video is trolling mega-nerds on atlas. Her statement is saying if I wasn't working this is what I would be doing. I imagine she works a lot and doesn't get to really enjoy the game she is helping to build. So again I see nothing wrong with what she said. For Grapeshot's response to the post is nobody's business but Dollie and her supervisor(s). Which is the professional thing to do. ~Lotus
-
1 pointNormally I would agree. But with only a few hundred players on each official server, I think they need to rush it right to live, ready or not. Then fix it there. I think going longer with no live servers will hurt more than going to live with bugs. It's not like we are expecting it to get to live and be bugless anyways. If fact I'd just rename the live servers to "NA PVP Beta" and so on. I would cut down on the level of toxic comments that will start again afterwards if they did.
-
1 pointI must contradict : One week is way too long for the PTR, best would be to wipe and restart the live servers today. If something should be too player friendly devs can patch quickly FOY 2.0 or something to destroy any uprising fun and happyness among the customers.
-
1 pointWell I'd the did not mentioned the wipe I would agree. But now that everyone know about the wipe and like me a lot of players do not play till wipe I do not think it is smart to even wait longer.
-
1 pointIt's total garbage and will drive even more players away, unless of course you're in one of the dev's favourite mega tribes.
-
1 pointTrue. Just imagine some assholes telling everybody they can build on their island. After 2 weeks they destroy everything and laugh. Best troll ever.
-
1 pointHow can I be sure one day you won't get bored from Atlas and you decide to destroy everything. Do you get my point? Imho, new system is a disaster.
-
1 pointI am in the right game because I agree on first part with you. But I do not like the claim system they use now. I rather have the map wide lawless then. I'm not wanna pay tax I'm a pirate not a citizen our a slave. I do not want that someone decide if and where I build because they where quicker with the bank. And if I win and be a landlord I do not want to waist my play time to clean land from Grievers, that is the job of a GM. I just need a small piece of land to build what I want. Make inland a no build zone, with a option to build a tamecave (a new blueprint ) that auto destroy after 3 hours. Our even better leave that tame thing in ark and my npc gather resources.
-
1 pointI'm pretty sure it will still exist too. In the Captain's log, they said to read the previous CL first to understand the basic changes. The previous Captain's Log says this: Of course, this means even fewer islands available to claim - around 500 something...
-
1 pointThe updated new claim system for PVE is horrid. I thought they said they were listening to us? Exactly WHO were they listening to? It wasnt the players posting their ideas on the forums. I didnt see them saying to change it to PVPesque. WHO were you listening to? However, YES, bring on The Great Purge. Gogogo. Wipe it all. Even if my rare looking beauties have to go.
