Nope. Rates are fine. Actually we have 3 days x2 and 4 days normal rates. Totally fine.

Devs, please, The hackertribe [??] cleared another island today. During the last week they have wiped 1 or more islands singlehandely each day. Often its just one player. there is millions of streams with evidence. How hard can it be to just ban their accounts? How do you intend to keep your playerbase ? During the weekend we were 100+ people trying to remove them from their island. But they managed to defend their island with 4 people alone during 4 hours. Most of the compayns that get wiped just stop playing the game since there is nothing you can do to defend yourself against them. Yeah i understand that most players that read this think that we should just shape up and play better. We have real bases, with 10-15 defencetowers loaded with NPC's and puckle/swivel guns. But its quite hard to defend when: - Our defencetowers dont detect them. not one single shot from NPC's were fired. - They intsanly headshot you when you get get in LOS with them - Their bears are unkillable - They have unlimited cannonballs on their bears and unlimited with explosive kegs. They dont even bother to offlineraid. We were 10-20 people trying to defend but in vain. Why did they target our base today? We retaliated and did sink all their ships when they were offline. Tomorrow they will attack someone else. I expect half of our company to stop playing today. We have lost tons of shit aginst the french but thats ok since they play fair. The game is great but you have to protect your playerbase.

So after reading the patch notes for 18.87, specifically: I thought I would give breeding another attempt. After discovering that the patch did not take this into account, yes the baby is still affected by heatwave and coldfront, I also discovered that the timers for the various stages were ridiculous. 1. Maturation - 4 hours 2. Juvenile to imprint - 8 hours 3. Juvenile to second imprint - 8 hours Didn't get past the second imprint so no idea if there was another after this. The times for these various stages are too long. Devs please reconsider these times, at the minimum they should be half of what they currently are.

Ok, so the situation went from bad to worse. First, there were ships being sunk everywhere due to griefers. That needed to be fixed. I get that. However, the net result of that fix has backfired. Over the weekend I went with some others to the FoY. They were able to get it, I was not. One of the HUGE reasons I wasn't was lag. That lag was caused by the hundreds... yes HUNDREDS (I'm not exaggerating) of ships parked around the FoY entrance. Now I don't have a great video card, I've got a good one. Trying to render all of those ships, I was barely getting 5fps. For over two weeks I had an abandoned schooner parked in my harbor blocking a good portion of it. It took a support ticket to get it moved. I still have several RSloops and rafts parked along my claims. One RSloop belongs to a company that has 0 members (we invited them to the corp and didn't 'merge'). Travelling around the map I've encountered numerous lawless islands that look more like a ship salvage yard than a collection of harbors. These ships cannot be moved, sunk, boarded, SotD'd, hurricane'd, shark smacked... etc. They are more that just an eyesore. They are a render and server lag inducing mechanism that needs to be fixed. Proposal: If your ship is parked on your claim, it does not decay as per current rules. Freeport decay rates begin 2 hours after arriving in a freeport grid. That gives you 2 hours to conduct your business. If your ship is parked on a claim you do not own after 72 hours, it begins to decay at freeport rates. For each ship parked on a claim you do not own, the decay timer is is divided by 2. 4 ships on a claim you do not own, decay begins in 9 hours (making raft spam much less of a problem). If your ship is parked where no claim exists and you have not been in the area, after 72 hours it begins to decay at freeport rates. For each ship parked where no claim exists, the decay timer is is divided by 2. 4 ships on a claim you do not own, decay begins in 9 hours (making raft spam much less of a problem). If your ship is parked on a lawless and you have not been in the area, the same with structures, it begins to decay after 3 or 4 days (not sure what the structure time is on lawless) at freeport rates. If your company has build rights on a claim, it does not decay as per current rules. Ships that exist on a claim when the ownership of that claim changes, after 72 hours they begin to decay at freeport rates. Alternate: Instead of accelerating the decay, the ships become unanchored and thus, sinkable or claimable. Whatever the solution, something needs to be done to fix this. The number of anchored ships that do not go away is becoming untenable.

You shouldn't. If you can find all the content you need on that island to enjoy the game, stay there. But the fact that you're here asking that question suggests that perhaps you're not. The way you've worded that question also suggest that you expect something from owning a claim. A claim will give you nothing you don't already have. I think the question you should ask yourself is not, what's the benefit, but what am I missing? Atlas is not a game that will entertain you. It's a toy that you have to play with to entertain yourself. You create the real content. The game only facilitates that. The best content, is the content created when interacting with others. So, the real question is, who would you meet, what interactions would you have, what content would be created if you suddenly decided to load up your ship and sail off into the sunset in search of that elusive claim? In games like Atlas, it's not about the destination. It's about the journey.

Tried doing one of the powerstone islands just now that contains fire elementals. Who the fuck thought they were a good idea? Massive aggro range, flying (noclip more or less), Fast fire dumbfire fireballs, homing fireballs and they are only reliably killed with ballistas. On top of that they got a 3 minute respawn timer. Now add 3-5 more of them to the entrance of the cave alongside gorgons, wolves and lions that grab you. Cleared out the entrance with ballistas and tried to make our way in just to find that the first one spawned back in again when we were close to the entrance. Blapped us and now we were stuck trying to get our corpses with all mobs respawned. Woho. Amazing gameplay. Not gonna continue with powerstones that contain fire elementals. It's just the most broken mob I've ever seen.

When you open the mini map and you are in someone else’s claim area, the little red x that shows your position on the minimap is very close to the red color of the claim area. This makes it very difficult to see where you are on the mini map. if we could have the color of the red x changed, maybe simply black will be enough, this would improve the visibility.

Yup, needing to spec to use better quality gear is kinda pointless and limits trade. Instead of needing to spec the points to use it, it should be that the points speced in are to use it better. Less stamina drain, better damage etc, less durability loss, etc. I can pick up a walmart quality axe and chop down a tree. I can get a hand forged axe that holds an edge longer, and is perfectly balanced, and with no additional training, chop that tree down faster....but an experienced lumberjack is still going to drop that tree a lot quicker, with less effort, than I could with the same tool.

Why not change the leader board system entirely? Instead of land claims deciding who is top dog make it quest based. Make it a percentage of people with x power stone. So the company has 5% with power stone 1 and 70% with power stone 2. Just give them a score of 5 and 70 respectively add them together for a total score and a max possible score of 900. If you think about it small companies will have a harder time completing the tasks but getting a decent % would be easier. Larger companies can complete the tasks easier but have more people who need the task done thus making it harder to get a good score. In the end only active companies that have experienced that game as a team can be top dog.

Yeah if you don't like rates there are several options: 1. Play unofficial servers with boosted rates, which is probably most of them. 2. Get your hands on tames and/or gear that will boost your gathering yield. 3. Join a company or a larger company so there are more hands to do the work. This game is not designed to hand you everything you need to build a galleon and a huge stable for all your tames in 20 minutes. Rates are fine.

The breeding time is annoying. How should a person, who go to work all day breed an animal? Even when I wanna breed on weekends means: coming home Friday night, sad and broke of working. I should breed an animal and take 8h time, until the baby eats on its own. When I don't fall asleep, I could get a chance, that the breed is growed up until Sunday night... This is way too much work for a solo player or small tribe. Why can't you decrase the time it needs by 50%? So all the people can try to breed on weekends and still get drunk too?

I don't get why people think bears so OP. Let's go over the list of tameable animals: Chicken: Eggs, do not use for combat Monkey: Heal buff, use for combat only on shoulder Parrot: Insulation, do not use for combat Rabbit: Murder for meat Crow: Int buff, do not use for combat. Seagull: Swim/breath buff, do not use for combat. Penguin: Insulation, do not use for combat. Vulture: Probably good for PvP but I never use them. Sheep: Fleece/climb cliffs, do not use for combat. Pig: Poops, do not use for combat. Cow: Cheap transport, cheap tame, good early. Bull: Same as above more HP usually, can get 2k+ weight and 400-500hp. Ostrich/Wolf: Climate controlled mounts, ostrich is great for maps, wolf farm bones, not great combat mounts. Easy tames, good for shooting from. Horse: High weight transport with good HP. Not great for combat, harder to tame then above for shooting cavalry. Bear: All rounder T2 pet with no special capability that isn't beaten by a T3. Good tame for it's worth. Elephant: Wood farmer, good damage, good knockback. Giraffe: Thatch farmer, great stamina, good for water combat. Rhino: Fantastic combat damage, good tank, farms all stones. Lion/tiger: Fantastic damage, farms meat well, limber, hard to tame. I do not understand why people bitch about bears so fucking much. Pigs are about the only useless tame in the game, and they're fertilizer (they should hold their poop so that farming poop is easy and then pigs are fixed).

Just in case it needs to be said though, I am all for them adding a feature that when you attempt to build your fifth behemoth gate in a grid, you instantly explode into a pile of confetti and your entire company gets deleted. (Yes that's a joke but I do hate them)

They were fine for awhile, but Cobra's are clipping straight through walls again. They don't even go over; they just phrase through them.

Hello, I don't understand why it's just impossible to take claim in PVE ? Now we need to wait many days for try to take one flag and when you can, you see a random player just wait to contest your claim and you can't do nothing. It's the good way to have full map with gosht and leave player and just few troll player who fuck like PVP ? They are 3 players in my map and just with 1 i can't play.

Can we get a different color player marker for the map so it contrast the red land claims

I tamed all the lower mounts this weekend, here what i found out. - pig : hits for 10, quite slow, even when running. If you run its out of sramina after a few meters - horse : hits for 10, good HP and weight, obviously no combat mount, nice speed and jumping. Can keep running for a long time - ostricht : hits for 19, low HP and weight. Faster than the horse, higher jump also, very agile. Perfect scout mount and not thst bad as combat mount - wolf : hits for 22, not very fast and runs out of stamina very fast. Can jump a little. Super low weight and HP. Not recommandable. - bull : hits for 22, good speed, close to horse and can keep the speed for a while without stamina problems, low HP, good weight. A good overall mount. Can jump, but not high. - bear : absolute overpowered pet. Hits for 35, triple hp of all others, OP weight. Cant jump. Speed in run mode is good, and the bear can keep it for a while without stamina problems Dependent on availability on your island, bear is the first choice without question. Second is the ostrich, as scout perfect. If you have no Ostrich take the bull. Horse is ok if you dont want to fight with it, for pure scouting of pulling a cart with a cannon. But to be honest the only pet you ever need is a bear, a bear and another... bear.

SO I would have 1 crew member, So i can safely drop 2 stacks of potatoes in food larder + enough gold in chest. And be gone for more than a week? Now try with eggs That would probably go really long. Also other slightly unrelated, crew do contest/refresh the claim timer right?

    1. Maybe you are right, i'm not an expert. What I know is many people have this problem and my 2 tries ended up with all bears dying from starvation same second with fully stacked throughs. It's good to have this problem in one topic tho 2. I feed baby bears with Lingon Berry and Arctic Raspberry. After they are juvenile they eat berries in the first place, so not really sure the others.
  25. 1 point
If you have 24 hours to devote to imaginary baby animals that are probably gonna die to some glitch or alpha or aggro predator horde that's fantastic for you. I don't and wouldn't even if I did. Even at 50%, it's a ridiculous expectation. You've gotta love these absurd posts. "Behold, the immutable Will of the Holy Developers, for I am their Prophet! Thus it is written and thus it forever shall be!" Do yourself a favor and stop deifying the developers or pretending something can't be changed just because it happens to work for you. What a joke. Practically every aspect of the game can be changed if popular opinion supports it. The devs are human and they make mistakes. And this obnoxious breeding system is a mistake IMO. Now my opinion might not be in the majority but I'm clearly not the only one that thinks it.

Today I experienced the brand new fuckery that is the updated cyclones. I could not sail through them without dying. "But they spawn only 33% of the time now!" except it was still a solid wall of cyclones and now they do significantly more damage. I am attempting to get a sloop to a golden age ruin so that my company can use the fountain of youth and get one bit of a reprieve from ONE of these awful mechanics for like a month, and in doing so I was killed 4 times in a storm and my sloop (admittedly, it was basic and garbage) was capsized. In one of my bed spawns, a ship of the damned (L20) immediately spawned and just crushed me. This is my limit. I appreciate a difficult game, like challenges, like having long term tasks, but this is just a bit extreme.
  27. 1 point
I suggest the payment for claims. The more claims you have, the more you pay. That would make players that are logging in just to reset timers, bankrupt and same in case when few players have more flags than they can provide for.
  28. 1 point
Player numbers ARE low, in my server we are lucky to get 5 people at one time and this is in the tropics. Sailing through other places you are lucky to see over 10 people in one server. I am not sure about raising the resource gathering rates to perm 4x but I have learned to just farm my butt off on the weekends.

It happens to all 7 of us 2-3 times a day. Can also have one person on a boat see it and not the others or several ppl see different islands.

why us on lawless we dont recive "holiday protection" 21 days on structures xd ? we are forced to be here and still we have to log eacb 4 days they just claimed like nerds but recive 21 days protection thats funny #ATLASLOGIC

so i saw in the patch notes that devs seem to be making tames an even more of a must have thing. i dont care that people want tames, my problem is that they seem to be making it so u cant live without them and i dont want to be forced to use the damn things
  32. 1 point
It happens to me everytime i fast travel to a different sector/server. Somehow i then see all islands of both sectors. It was an occasional bug here and there in the past, now i get it everytime. Its gone once you relog. Extra fun if you sail close to a fake island and suddenly a SotD clips through it and shoots you right away

Each PowerStone gives you 40 DP. We have 8 PowerStones, so 8x40 = 320 DP GhostShip gives also 40 DP Monster Sperm Whale gives 50 DP Monster Blue Whale gives 50 DP Sea Demon (Kraken) gives 150 DP. Each island gives 1 DP and has several DiscoZones, each of which also gives 1 DP (with the exception of FreePorts)

So, over a week ago I had a few homeless sailors in a schooner show up and anchor in my harbor. Two of them, I recruited into my company. However, the company owner, and thus the schooner owner, hasn't logged back in for me to try to recruit them. As a result, I've had this ship blocking a good chunk of my harbor that entire time. I cannot claim it, even though it's on my claim, because I can't actually set foot on it. And, it's not degrading as it's anchored. So tell me, why are there no options for me to sink it, claim it or eject it off my claims? Why should I have to file a support ticket to rid myself of an abandoned ship that otherwise will never go away.

No one thought he was being literal, but when one asserts there is an abundance of evidence and provides none, it certainly leaves room for doubt as to veracity. If the OP were exaggerating his claims of hacking he would by no means be the first to do so, so incredulity works both ways in this situation.

One of Atlas's selling points is taming. They are holding true to having tames implemented. I come from a very large community of players who adore having features such as taming available to us as a play choice. Without taming, I would most likely NOT be playing this game. I am very glad to see taming being supported and getting enhanced.

I don't know why but when I play the game after work I want to play the game. I'm putting effort when I'm in my office and want to relax in the world of Atlas. Claim system in pve is broken and devs need to fix it if they want to keep players on official servers.

No, i tried it yesterday - Day0 cause this problem. @esditas Same Setup with Set day0 in 2019 - CPU Usage 100% by 16 Server Change Day0 to any day in 2018 - CPU Usage 35% by 16 Server Maybe there are other things that cause this problem - but Day0 is one of them.

if the crew can fire from the ship and have the 99% damage buff at the same time this will not work it would be abused instead of building towers around your island people will park semi-invincible ships

we need the devs to start changing the crew , as i was under the impression they would be used for farming / fighting / etc , would it not make mroe sense , maybe we assign skills to them when we rescue/ buy them i.e crew memebr 1 is resource farmer so he has incresed carry weight , crew 2 is fighter so he has incresed hp / mellee damage , crew 3 is repairer so has increased repair speed etc etc etc , we can maybe go out with the gather crew and they auto gather trees rocks etc they maybe gather from the same things we hit using the attack my target command? as u say this isnt ark and the devs need to move away from tames and use crew ... tames= ark crew = atlas

Bears aren't particularly fast (until they run in a straight line for a while), they can't jump, they don't swim very well, they turn shit in water, they have no k/b, they're outdamaged by T3 tames, they have good HP but aren't insane, they have decent damage, they provide no mount buff (chocobo buff v heat, wolf buff v cold). I'd hardly call them OP. Great tames for the work you take getting them, but not OP.
  44. 1 point
This started happening when they took sleeping bodies out of the game. Since your character no longer exists in the world when you're logged off, it will not move with the ship and you will log in exactly where you left off. You need to stow your gear and fast travel to another location before logging off now.

Ah ... I forgot one thing. When dismounting from a sheep the player hangs flapping / hanging behind the sheep. The hitbox seems to be too big. Basically, I would also prefer the big animals, if one stands on the animal after the dismount and is not thrown off full height.

I think a ship should be treated like a claim type entity. As long as an ACTIVE owner is within a certain circumference it delays damage up to maybe 30 mins or so just to take in consideration of a disconnect or something.

UPDATE: Due to structure collisions changes some of the walls might not be placeable on the front and rear side. Will keep you guys updated and re-do the design if neccesary!
