Hey i wonder if theres any possibility to implement glass and windows to the game ? I mean the windows is already in the game ( the npc houses). Anyone else had an similar idea ?

The game is not set on Earth, so these are not conventional pirates. What lore I have seen refers to an advanced civilization that lost a lot of technology, but which is slowly going to recover it. From the Atlas Wiki: "Long-ago, far above the watery world of ATLAS there once existed a magic-powered “Golden Age”-- where great Empires of the Sky lived at peace alongside magical creatures, flourishing upon floating continents above the clouds, all powered by a magical source of energy known as the Heart of the Goddess, granted by the powerful beings who dwell in the stars beyond...." and the final bit... "If the latest generation of Pathfinders can outwit and outgun Xevos and his legions, and recover the Heart pieces for themselves, they will be faced with the very same choice: whether to attempt to restore the old world, or build a new better one…" So, you have two choices - learn to like it or change games, essentially.

Can we get rid of alliances. Tired of mega tribes having their alliance it’s no different than 500 man companies. Really sucks the fun out of the game when you know they can Zerg you down and delete you from the game when ever They want unless you either Jon them or another mega.

    1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down. If you like any of these options, please reply to this thread with your comments and feel free to suggest some more ideas pertaining to ships! And a special thank you to @Jatheish for taking the time to read this! Loving the game.

Ahoy Pathfinders! Now that the flux of development related to ATLAS 1.5 has settled, we have made a return to our regularly scheduled patches to address stability, bugs, and balance whilst we prepare our next Mega-Update. This is a good time to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring ATLAS continues moving towards its ambition of becoming the ultimate fantasy pirate adventure. This Captain's Log will give you a sneak preview of what we're currently working on for our May Mega Patch whilst maintaining the live game on the side. livestream! The stream will be hosted on both Twitch and Mixer, so be sure to tune in! twitch.tv/sailtheatlas mixer.com/playatlas We’ll also be collecting questions from the community which we’ll be answering live. If you’ve got something on your mind, whether it’s about future development plans, upcoming content, decisions regarding features, or how we feel about Endgame, submit your questions to this thread! mega-update! Now that our first large milestone has made it out the door, the team has been working hard on our next major content update. This will include new playable areas, creatures, weapons, items, ship mechanics and more -- much of which we’ll be covering in our upcoming Live Stream! Please keep in mind that this update is an evolving work-in-progress and thus, isn’t set in stone. This means that it’s open to change, whether it’s the visual appearance or the actual intended gameplay purpose it serves. But without further ado, here’s a little peek of the content to come! Icebox A high insulation box for transporting ice! Can be used to reduce surrounding temperature, extend the spoil time of perishables, and quench your thirst -- assuming it’s fully stocked. This is not something we’ll be supporting specifically on our Official Network, as it was designed and intended to be used for single servers an example of a stunning mod map that can be hosted unofficially. This specific map will be set up so that you can still enjoy all the mechanics that ATLAS has to offer, whilst hosting it as a standalone server with no additional database setup required! patch roundup! The community’s contributions throughout early access, whether that’s bug reports, feedback on features, and content suggestion have been highly helpful in ATLAS’ development. Thanks to your reports, we were able to identify and resolve one of our more frequent server crashes. Additionally, we’ve spent a lot of time focusing on the core technical aspect of the game and have significantly optimized crew attached to stations, movement on ships, and resolved some outstanding bugs. The effect on our servers after eliminating that crash. The dip you see on Wednesday and Early Thursday was because we had temporarily disabled a feature which had a high chance of causing the crash and then further dropped Late Thursday onward after we fixed the issue and re-enabled the feature. We couldn’t have done it without your report, so please keep them coming! You can submit a bug report to our forums here Please have a read through of our guidelines thread to help us get all the information we need: And we’re currently collating information regarding ‘vanishing’ structure pieces, so if you’ve experienced it please post a response in this thread with any information that you can provide, we’ve included a guideline that’ll help us identify the problem. Patch notes up to v102.45 - Fixed issue where tames could be given move-onto-ship points that were outside the bounds of the ship, or nearly outside. - Fixed issue where tames could potentially fall endlessly and drown when moving-onto-ship. v102.4 - Fixed a server crash - Re-enabled Red Alert and the ability to return the crew to their previous seat following a Red Alert (can be activated using Right Shift) on Official Servers v102.38 - Fixed creature "drift" on ships for client - Fixed issue where creatures could disappear or erroneously die in some cases when moved onto ships, re-enabled move to ship functionality for Officials. - Added cooldowns to activate or reset Red Alert state (clients get a corresponding message onscreen when they try to execute the order during the cooldowns). - Fixed issue where crew melee swings on ships couldn't hit their targets. - Red Alert temporarily disabled on Official Servers whilst we investigate an issue related to its stability. v102.1 - Hand Harvesting Skills now affect tool usage as well. - Fixed Climbing Picks sometimes sending the player off into infinity. - Ended the Easter Event. Bunny hat skin applications and skinned items will still exist. - Significantly optimized the networking of character movement on ships. - Fixed a bug where you couldn't see another player turning their character on a ship if they weren't moving. - Fixed a server crash. - Fixed issue with resources not respawning near shipyards/docks. - Fixed an issue where mortars and lighthouses may not have had their activity tags updated properly. - Fixed issue that would cause characters (including creatures) based on a ship to "drift" off the ship over time. v101.32 - Possible fix for shoulder creatures disappearing or flickering post-transition. - Placed Water Reservoirs will now show their water richness percentage on the HUD. - Water Reservoirs will now gain water from rain. - Fixed Treasure Maps generating locations stuck in the world. Will not effect existing Treasure Maps. - Empires PvE mode will now have a 2 week declaim tag period of claim flags (was previously 6 hours for test purposes). - Disabled 'Move To Ship' pinwheel action for non-crew tames on Official Servers until we have resolved issues related to the feature. - Fixed Island Points totals getting de-synced/displaying incorrectly for Companies. and you can check out our entire Patch List since release, here: SHOW 'N' TELL #7 We’re still collecting entries for the Show ‘n Tell! I guess I would like to see something like this. Use Crafting Crafting Improved Crafting Further Improved I would like to see improvements in crafting, reduce the cost of crafting. A master craftsman is going to waste less material when they craft, right? As far as use goes, if you are going to have to spec into using better equipment, then that would need to branch off in a separate branch of the tree. Frankly though, that seems a little silly. What is the difference between using a sword made by a master craftsman, and one made by an apprentice? One does not require more skill. It's still a sword. If anything, you might need to be more skilled to use the apprentice made sword. If this is a stand in for being more skilled, then just make it that, and allow it to give a little buff to the item you use, regardless of what level it is. Just make it an actual skill buff, like the Strong Arm skill.

Can we please keep the sail powered pirate game sticking to the 17th century or earlier. Theres enough mythology and legends from back then and earlier to put in buttloads of content. Aliens, time portals and modern or sci fi tech have absolutely no place in here. We start getting nuclear and fusion powered sail boats with pew pew lasers, automated turrets and other such crap and i'm out for good.

Yes. The boost doesn’t refer to treasure map yields, which aren’t resources, but to resources dug up when using the shovel otherwise, like potatoes.

Yep. Here's a few more hints: For white maps, 250~, 5 cows (T2 taming + rushes passive tame) of just about any level will murder the damned that spawn. For green maps, you'll probably need 5 to 10 cows that are higher levels (30~) or a bear 10+ (nature's cry help DPS them all down to nothing) if you want to solo them. Tames really help, anything with 500+ HP can do a lot of damage to the damned without dying, and cows are really easy to get passive tames (bears require a pen and honey, but perform drastically better). If you get a schooner with a large and small sail, 2 crew will cost you 1 gold every 2.5 hours - or 4 gold every 5 hours. Most flotsam has 2-10 gold in it, and as stated, you can grapple them while sailing your ship (good reason to put the steering wheel on a raise platform at the front of your ship), so you can net another 20 to 100 gold on the way in most maps (especially the tundra). Sunken wrecks can be gotten either A: with diving perk & oxygen perk, you can make it down and up on one breath if you don't get nommed by sharks. More safely, use a diving rig, more oxygen and nothing attacks you. If you have a friend on a bear, you can have him jump right ahead - the sharks will attack him, you're safe to pull treasure, bear has as much breath as you and a massive stamina pool (something tigers and lions lack) so you can load up on fish meat at the same time. Whales murder all your tames and ships, so don't get near them. Cannons do little damage (1000 per shot goes down to 100 for animals), so you need to build expensive balistas. Load up 4 on the back, pass by a blue whale and then shoot it (tundra) or go near a sperm whale and have it aggro you (arctic) and then just keep pelting it in the face. They take about 30 bolts each, so 4 will make short work of one. Then just run up and get your gold.

Hello there, a few comments... Firstly, a QoL change, I would like to know if its possible that the Spyglass could tell us the quality of shipwrecks on the ocean surface, rather than us having to dive down to find out its been a terrible waste of our time? (had one or two that we've had to kill SoTD to get to only to find low quality shipwrecks) Secondly, I'd also like to ask if the friendly mermaid quest is meant to be a radius complete?, since me and a friend both swam to one right next to eachother, and luck of the draw gave him the complete and not myself. Thirdly, I've done a bit of proof reading in your skill tree, Piracy seems to have a spelling mistake in there, where you use the word swipwrecked and not shipwrecked, had to mention it, as it triggers me every time I see it LOL.

Ahoi, I would like to know if you have plans to add some story to atlas like in ark so that we can find maybe a captains log ingame with story related informations and maybe some story skins rewards? I also have some sugestions and i would like to hear some from you if some things are likely or plant to come in the future. The colouring of ships should show a more opaque colour, in the beginning it was possible to paint planks free again which made the colour more opaque. A buyable potion that prevents hair from growing and one that turns it on.(or a option if you cut your hair with the scissor) more Hairstyles, pls Will i be able to have a cursed looking crew (and skins for me) like skeleton pirates or cursed fishmen crew members? A signal flag should be placeable on the masts where you can show a Jolly Roger or your own flag. (now if we have the deco flag it should have a snap point on the mast) One wide ridge is missing as roof function, and a more flatternd roof parts for ships, the normal sloop wall roof looks very silly on the ships a 2x2 floor gate to be able to build cargo ships for better animal transport. Crew members should play songs if they have instruments in their inventory, generally more crew possibilities, i would like to be able to hang these etc. Cages should be able to be placed on horse carts and prisoners should be able to be placed in them. After entering the pin code, the lever should no longer be used to select the pin code quickly, but should have the Open / Close option. The new small gate is great, what is missing now is that we get a gate which lets the elephant through but is not too high. Maybe we could change the middle gate to 4x4 Conan exiles have some great DLC's that brings new Building parts that clearly simple Building skins and armor skins, would soemthing like this coming to atlas? I would like to have more themed based building/cloths tools etc. maybe Viking, Marine, Skull, cursed etc themed? Will we get more and other ship costumisations? it would be a blast to have some cursed themed pirates of teh caribean like davy jones ship

1: Do all maps 250+ if you're out. 2: Do green maps 500~+ when you're not out. 3: While sailing, use grappling hooks to pick up floatsam. 4: Do sunken wrecks - 100~ gold and can find 4-5 in an area at times. 5: Go whailing. Whales drop like 900 gold per.
  29. 1 point
Captan the small whales you pull to the surface don’t seem to give any gold. You have to attack the large ones already at the surface. As for the one you killed swimming circles that’s shitty luck. We live down south and kill whales daily and have not had that happen yet.

And they are taken...By Megas who could have afforded bigger islands. Also, you have to choose between a high gold cost, or a crap island with no resources, which means now instead of gold being your problem, resources are. And save the shaming language. It has no affect on me. I see it for what it is. The fact that you use it shows that you don't actually understand the balance problems in the EARLY ACCESS game.
  33. 1 point
It failed, they listened to the wrong crowd, to appeal to just the larger groups. They could have made 2 servers up one 10-25 caps and 1 250 caps and go away with it. Let the megas join together and fight it out there, allowing us to choose to join in with them under a single banner if we so desired. Would it have failed? yes totally because megas want to have the player base. Do i despise mega tribes? yes in a game like this that is not supportive of mega tribes. The game limits imposed on players are bad, being a 150 man server cap forcing your own crew to not be able to log in and defend or attack. With hard limits of 25 or so, it allows a couple allied teams go in and attack with the main force. Now I am seeing over whelming odds against you for defense. Flood the servers, ddos it and wham you got an easy win. Do i completely despise mega tribes? hell no i used to be apart of them. There is games that support this type of game play, but not atlas. The hardware demands are too great to support any of this, and the fact the AC engine and server networking support is not there. Its just that simple. It still is a good ship game if they focused more on that, and i am sure the megas would agree it has potential, but not at 250 man crews it doesn't. You will never be able to support such a large group in one server, so you have to make up different servers to attack at the same time. That is all they can do, or lose members.
  34. 1 point
Sometimes the ship ladder is ridiculous to use. There are times it works first time, every time, then there's an interlude where it just can't be grabbed, or if you do grab it it will instantly dump you in the water again. This goes on even after logging out and back in, and you just have to wait 10 minutes until it somehow fixes itself. It's really, really annoying when you can't get on your own ship.

For shits and giggles I found a solo with schooner diving for a wreck. They were some random company we have no beef with so I just pulled up next to him and said boo when he popped back up. Sure I startled him a bit with my 20 large cannon brig. We had a laugh and I sailed away.

This is really odd, like really odd. Community makes it clear by numbers joining the respective servers that they prefer smaller sized tribes - devs stick fingers in ears and decide to modify the preferred server to resemble the deserted one as that is THEIR preferred mode. I really thought they'd understand at last what players want and maybe even consider modifying the majority of Ark official servers to smaller tribes too. Mega tribe gameplay may be attractive to the devs, but it's not nearly as interesting to most players, how many people are actually playing in these mega tribes considering most vet players in them have multiple accounts (in Ark)? Most people I know in Ark tried mega tribe life and found it boring and moved off to unofficial or other games (or small tribe servers when they came in years later). I really am confused by this move. Some patch notes really do need more explanation of the ethos behind it - if they are determined to stick with megas they need to come clean about it. It's their game, it's their choice, but it kinda feels like bait and switch. We'll work more to make Atlas great for smaller tribes.. oh wait, you like that more? Ok, in that case we won't.

What the current game needs is for the players to get reputations., and for there to be an NPC Royal Navy (Police). Then for those players that like offline raiding and attacking targets that they are not in an official declared WAR with, they would get a worse reputation. If they are seen on the seas by the NPC royal Navy they will be attacked. The Royal Navy should (like the Ships of the damned), come in various sized ships. But the Royal navy unlike the ships of the damned should only attack ships with players on that have a poor reputation. Therefore if the player with the bad reputation jumped overboard the Navy ship would target on the player with the poor reputation and not continue after the ship. At the end of the day, why penalise the crew mates when maybe only one person has been raiding. Obviously the worse the reputation the bigger the aggro range of the player, and the easier it is for the NPC royal Navy to detect. Reputation should not reset when you die, but should only reset when you die of old age or fountain of youth regen. To regain your reputation, you should get a reputation increase for every game Month that you don't attack someone. The worse your reputation the longer it takes to get rid of it. This would force more official wars to be fought, and get rid of a lot of the offline raiding.

How about no. If you get the blue feed notification, you should be able to feed, period. This process is broken, period. It must be fixed. Stop defending broken game mechanics. The entire system is lazy programming. It looks nothing at all like taming. You don't repeatedly, nearly kill something and force feed it, to tame it. Never in the history of mankind taming creatures, has this ever been employed as a method of taming. And something trapped, doesn't automatically escape every two minutes. This system is absurd, and MUST be replaced with something that makes sense.
  46. 1 point
i would say something that needs to be fixed or added is renaming of ships. For example if you "acquired" ships from a company merge but you dont like the name. As it stands now you cant change the name yet the option is there but doesnt work(atleast for me and others i've talked to.). Also more ship types would be nice. Since some people are doing RolePlaying(RPing) maybe have merchant vessels and other ships like that. Someone mentioned above the void when building....more ceiling tiles that conform to the odd shaped rear of the ship. For example you cant really use square tiles on the schooner to fill the gap you need like 2 or 3 triangles and even then theres a gap on either side of where the ladder on the back is.

One thing Mephos suggested that no one I think is really paying attention to is storms. I'm seeing a lot of ships with really low hull HP due to storms because no one is maintaining it. Maintenance is part of the game, you can either hire an NPC and put them idle, anchor, and they will maintain it, or you can login regularly to maintain it. Either way you have to maintain the ship and/or the crew. There are SO many ships parked on the PVE server that aren't touched for days, if not weeks that there has to be some kind of game mechanic to require you to actually play the game. Not to mention the rafts... my god the amount of abandoned rafts... If this wasn't a persistent game world with limited space it wouldn't be such a big deal, but in reality it is, and there should be some kind of small, regular thing you have to keep up with to continue to keep your property. I know, probably unpopular opinion but that's the realist in me.

To piggyback off of ship changes.. A few things I would like to see from ships: Better ship physics (Such as not being fixed to the sea floor when anchoring, and still floating on top of the water, or not insta-stopping when dropping the anchor) Anchor mods to allow deeper anchoring, maybe a mod for purchase at a freeport or such Flags on top of the masts - They look pretty naked and bare right now No longer clipping through walls and falling out of the back of the ship when it's in motion. This is especially bad when spawning at a bed on a moving ship
