    The shop should cost NOTHING. It should be there to promote trade. We cannot afford one, so we can't trade. Boneheaded decision. One more reason to leave the game. One of my crew was excited to get one set up, and even made one. Then he learned that it would take something like 1,000 gold per day. Are you fucking kidding me? It shouldn't cost anything to run. Not one single gold piece. It should be nothing more than a mechanic to allow trade to happen. Period.

    Seriously. Why is the upkeep set so prohibitively high?? You've let out a few small and 1 major patch now since then. And here we sit with not a single player shop up on official. Please send help...

    One of the more amusing 'bugs' was when I was meat & skin hunting with my bear... got zerged by a group of lions, and what a scrap.. survived, bear went berserk, and killed everything when I got torn off the saddle.... so heading back to the ship, and was being attacked by an invisible snake... torpor going up, no snake... did a few swipe attacks, nothing. The bear health was critically low, so I jumped off, and it started attacking... nothing! in the far distance I noticed damage ticks, so ran towards it, after 30 seconds of running, saw a cobra attacking nothing, and when I tried to attack it, nothing... suddenly it died, and it said my bear had killed a level 20 cobra. only my bear was like 300 yards back down the beach...... oh how pissed I would have been had it killed either of us!. Now I'm afraid of rubberband snakes! But that ladder bug, that's annoying has hell when you're being chewed by a shark for sure!

    I just ran too, butt naked. In fact the bit I found the most difficult was getting to the cave entrance, the wolves were troublesome. Once inside the cave it was pretty easy to run and dodge then spam 'E'. I think i'm 56 yrs right now, so also looking forward to hitting 90 and getting my 10% boost!

    As long as the devs not decrase the breedingtime, it's not really a funny thing. U have to be awake for up to two days for an elephant. Who can do it, if you are a working person? It's still non-human. Stay awake for so long... Damn that game forces me to do drugs or what's the idea behind?!

    EU servers are going under maintenance. It started with EU PvE, which is now back online, and EU PvP has now gone down for said maintenance.

    Long story short, I dropped a new boat and got attacked by an NPC in the process. Ended up panicking and pressing cancel and it was released as "Schooner." When I hold 'E' on the boat and go to ship options, there's a 'rename ship' option on the scroll wheel, but nothing happens when pressed. I was under the impression that if you don't name your ship you get one rename, but it seems that option is bugged currently. Thank you!

    Today we wasted at least 2 bloody hours to beat the god damn Dragon on H11 and we went back to the cave to get the powerstone. After we've been killed so many bloody times by these creatures inside that f**** cave (where entire island's creature are gathering there to kill you and also the road to the cave which is same or worse than inside, where creatures are see you from miles away - this is a real madness made by the grapeshot Devs!!!) some player, while we were running back to get our stones, stolen our loot boxes and all our effort to get the powerstone for today was a real f***** waste of TIME made by you, DEVS of Grapesgot which camed with the idea of losing the stone from you after you die !!!! Thank you Grapeshot devs for this "ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME" !!!! I will uninstall this MOCKERY made by YOU to the PLAYERS / TESTERS of your EARLY ACCESS !!! You nerfed so fast tiny things like killing a stone/fire golem with ballista and cannons BUT you never tried to lower the NIGHTMARE from POWER STONES ISLANDS !!! You nerfed so many useless things on this game because of this toxic community of kids with no games culture ("the game is too easy, please nerf it more!" <-> thanks for listening so fast these ret**** ) BUT you broke the constructions and many other major things that were working before all these nerfs.     What person would be stupid enough to leave hard information scattered on forums? Not me, that's for sure. I don't fill profiles out, I use a "burner" email address when I join and not one shred of actual information about me is given to anyone. Wanting to delete "information" when you quit a forum is way, way too late in the day for anyone daft enough to scatter it hither and yon - once information is out in the wild it's out there for good. Don't hand out information in the first place.

    My money making scheme. Tame bear. Run circle around island picking up maps. Do this for all islands in grid. Go to grid next door where most of your maps are. Do same there and do treasure maps. Bring gold and those maps back home. Do maps in your grid and grab new ones while doing it. Rinse repeat. I end up with more gold then I need which I donate to people/company. Sure the maps are low payouts....but when you have 10-15 of them on the same island it adds up quick. We have a map spawn right outside our main base. I did 4 of them a few nights ago and it paid out 600 gold for 10 minutes worth of killing and digging.

    Please fix. If you expect exploits limit the rename option to a low single digit value or make it necessary to do it in freeport. Heck you could even set up a Ships Register building in Freeports. where a pathfinder can query all ships actual and former names(for a fee). on top of that maybe sell, buy, rent player ships. That would add a great immersion feature.

    We are 3 players and we hold an 57er island. We are trading a lot + 2 people love to do treasure maps and farm "non-home" ressources. We have upkeep for over a month, just because of teamwork and working company members. All of us have a real life job and we play in the evening. My company members boats comeback after 3-5 days with a lot of gold and i do mainly trading. It works as long you split your man power and act like a company.

    I’m looking forward to it, that gauntlet was fun. I know some companies may have fought their way to it but a lot of people just ran and figured out a path. I was one of the ones who just ran, multiple deaths but it was fun.

    Make a breeding room and put on the wall some torches. Then put some pillars in the room, also fulfilled with torches. Place two interrupters, one for all the torches at the wall and the second for the pillar-torches. In this way u got three different heating-solutions. Usually it's enough to breed and manage the heat.

    Look, Grapeshot. You guys are not the best at schedules, but its OK, there's plenty of folks complaining about that. I wanted to say big ups to Grapeshot Games. Trying new things, not afraid to wipe an EA situation, that's awesome. Fixing broken stuff requires testing, trying things out, and you guys have the kohones to do it. Much respect. Put that on top of really listening to your community, and I gotta say Big Ups. You realized NA Empires wasn't going well, you heard folks crying about not enough islands for small companies in PvE and no NA Server. You took the steps to fix this quickly, and gave a lot of us a great holiday in the process. Sure, there's bugs. Sure, some folks didn't come out ahead on this change, but overall - really nice. I know most people only come to forums when they're upset, so I wanted to say my piece. Great job! Myk

    Sounds like you spent some time enjoying the game and doing the content but your letting some random player ruin it for you. I don’t believe you’ll uninstall the game over losing your loot this one time, those of us who have been playing since release have lost everything but we are still here, keep in mind that your playing to have fun, so what if you have lost a few hours, we all lost a couple months when the wipe happened. Don’t let something so minor ruin what could be a lasting experience for you.

    we live in H7 post and pre wipe. We HAD plently of wildlife on our island, including alphas for that extra challenge (alpha crocs are pretty strong tho). Now we have to run the entire island which takes like 10 minutes to find like 10 animals to kill and loot. Alphas are completly gone and it feels like an actual desert now. Not liking these changes, they seems to radical.

    Owner of the island can destroy your stuff only 24 hours after you build it. Then he would need to use normal firepower to do that just like every other enemy. But ok, never mind. If you guys change your mind just write me Edit: Oh you play on PvE. Ok. Then the owner has only 24 hours for destruction. After that he can't do nothing about your structures.

    When in RL a person can land a plane in a foggy snowstorm without sight... So why do u have problems to handle some pixels? Just open the map and sail on. With a buddy up on a sail u see a little bit more.

    Taming works fine and don't take too long. U can skill up to 45% more effectiveness by feeding and get a +30% bonus on taming after killing a spermwhale. It's OK, that the animals still can hit u while taming. Otherwise it's way too easy. Horses are a pain to tame. Best way, if u got another tame, a bear a.e. to hunt, bite and bola them. Once the horse is trapped in a bola, u can build up a "cage" or just do it again from the other tame. I readet once, that some pple throw a cage in front of a horse, so he walks in... Tryed too, but this is shit Don't get to afraid of taming... Wait for breeding

    We have a group of 4 family members that play together and we aren't interested in joining any large companies. We play with another company of 3 on our island. Even working together the way we do, we have no way of keeping up with the larger companies. We are barely getting to level 50 now and fighting companies with members level 65+. Its hard to compete with holding islands, getting a base secure on an island or any of the other basic survival needs especially while being harassed by the larger guilds that can get all those things done and spare people to harass us so we can't keep up. With the current system and company size limits we will burn out on the game well before we get to experience even half of what's in it. Anytime we try to see a power stone server we get ships sunk by larger companies trying to control them. We spend more time remaking ships because we don't have the people to man them and be competitive with those that have a lot more players per ship, or more ships or both. With the closure of the Empires server and the increase in company size on the colonies server, this game is losing the interest of any smaller companies as we have no place to play and enjoy pvp in any kind of fair fight. Can we get a new NA PVP Colonies server with a lot of the suggestions above and a smaller company limit (15 or 20). Also, provide a more intuitive alliance system that would allow for neutral guild alliance for trade with a higher company limit, and a smaller combat ally limit to prevent larger companies from coming in and ruining that server as well.

    You can join us if you guys like, we are a smaller group of about 20 half who are pretty active and the rest play when they can. But I totally understand where you are coming from!! This game is still to brutal for the solo/ smaller groups of people who can only play a few hours a day because we still have jobs and families too. Like a mid-sized island is about 300 gold every 12 hours. So in one day we will have to do treasure maps to meet the 600 gold requirement just to have the ability to build on and play on an island that is "ours", now to add on that an ncp takes gold every couple hours but you cant have just one. You need them for the boats, you need them for base defense and no one can realistically sit on atlas for the 10hr raid window, unless of course you dont work and dont have a family and have no other responsibilities... It's hard to play the content of the game when you have to spend several hours a day hunting down maps, sailing to said map and sailing back. Then while you are out you get attacked by a larger group who sinks your boat and now you have to spend several more hours slowly farming the mats needed to build a new boat. Where do you find the time to fight back or do power stones or search for discoveries. The mega companies do very much so play on colonies and just have several companies tied to them. There is a very big difference between a group with 20 or so casual players and a group of 50-75 people.

    Yes, we are finding that the SotD, and the Flotsam, and Shipwrecks are giving mostly garbage BPs. Only rarely is is something we want. First of all, stop with the damn thatch BPs. Nobody wants those, except maybe on PvE. Who the hell is going to waste resources on a thatch BP? Maybe a fool. There are so many things that are BPs, that are useless. Stone picks and hatchets? No. Why even have them? It takes so long to get anything useful. Just one more thing that hurts the small companies, as we don't have people out there doing these things all day long.

    Our island costs about 1248 gold per day. We are struggling to just keep that amount of gold. We tried to go whaling. Went through, I kid you not, over 20 Tundra and Polar grids and saw not one single spout. The only whale we saw was Moby Dick, who came after us, and we killed it. The amount of gold we got was disappointing. Took the wind right out of our sails, no pun intended. I believe it was 968 gold. I mean are you fucking kidding me? You know how long that trip took us? We only have 6 to 8 guys playing, and all of them were on that ship manning the helm and ballistas. All of them logged off, and we had two people left when Moby Dick attacked. So how the hell are we supposed to keep 1,000 gold for a player shop. It's mind numbingly infuriating.

    So today i was out on my brig farming npcs from ships of the damned, i come across a galleon 2 brigs and a schooner galleon level 54 both brigs level 54 and schooner level 34 my ships level 34 which ive had for a week now im thinking oo lots of npcs and a couple of level ups right? No... i barely even got half a level... its so easy to loose a ship why is it so hard to level them up? could you guys please put the xp from ships of the damned or the xp on our ships the same it was before wipe? it was perfect it took us a couple of days or a hard day of farm to max them but it could be done now your lucky if your ship makes it to level 40 before its sunk.

    On NA PvE This has been happening frequently to me, and I've noticed that the it happens much more often when your supports are spread further apart. This effect can be reproduced by having supports placed far apart, but still close enough that there won't be gaps between them if you were to completely fill out their ceiling tile range, and then updating (removing, replacing) any nearby foundations that are still connected to the main structure. In other words, placing random tiles that aren't part of the build won't cause this problem, but changing the floors that are attached the stairs on the right and left sides of this picture will cause ceilings to collapse at random. I believe this is caused by the game looking at ceiling tiles and incorrectly registering which support beam is the correct anchoring foundation piece. When it chooses the wrong one, it decides the structure is no longer supported and demolishes it. I've drawn a little illustration of one beam and its normal range of structural support. I believe the missing tiles marked in red were registered as being anchored by this green pillar but the game saw that they were outside of its range and demolished them. I am currently in D10, Long: -50.20 / Lat: -27.76 (Cobalt Island) I have lost a lot of materials trying to work around this problem but the only solution I can come up with is having several anchor points near a ceiling tile that would fit into its normal range. This is indicated by the fact that none of my middle pieces suffer from this problem. I am only experiencing this issue on pieces that rest along hanging edges (while my pillars are 4 blocks apart)

    It may not say it, but that's what it was for. The Settlement Owner can select building options as follows: Cannons can only be built during combat/war phase Allies can build cannons freely Everyone can build cannons ^^ Was taken from a previous Captain's Log.

    It's still a thing and I don't believe has changed at all since pre-wipe. The only thing changed is there is no longer a debuff in stats, but you still look old I think.

    You can indeed utilize multiple PC's to setup a cluster, as a real basic starting point i'd consider the following: Allow up up to 5GB of memory per grid (assuming you have no more than 6 islands) Allow 1 Physical CPU core per grid minimum. This can potentially be streched if you have newer processors and drop the server tick rate. As for the server setup, you would install ATLAS on each physical box and then choose one to run the Redis DB and point the others too it. Plan your ports, e.g - Game: 11000 Query: 12000 Seemless: 13000 RCON: 14000 then increase each number by 5 as you work your way though your servers. As a real world example, I run a 5x5 on a new 16 core CPU with 128GB of memory. At idle CPU usage is around 30-40% and memory around 98GB. These figures do increase as players jump on so you need to allow for extra headroom. As for hosting a 15x15 on a single grid - It would be possible, but you would need some considerable hardware. Something like a quad socket server housing the soon to be released 64 core AMD EPYC chips and over 1TB of memory. So nothing viable

    I have gave props to the developers in the past and honestly to see Dollie post here after just a couple comments makes this a joke alone. We have posted thousands of topics here and not a single comment, follow up or acknowledgement from any of them and a couple newbies to the forums show up and all of a sudden they appear (Bullshit). I will say the look of the Alphas is way cooler then they were pre-wipe and since I was able to grab an island that I was pretty stoked about that. I’m still waiting for my cosmetic Pirates Hat that was promised. I love the game and plan to play for a long time, the time and effort that went into a design like this is amazing and other game designers could take some notes from this team but it still has bugs to get fixed before I’ll change my negative review back to a positive one.

    Gday, I play on a unofficial server, no mods, x 3 XP. So we had a similar issue with the journeymen small shipyard where we built a schooner and then it got stuck at level 4-99/100 xp. Tested with sloop and the same thing, stuck at lvl 4 99/100 xp. Would love a hot fix for this please.

    I think he is saying there is no LFG which would make it easier to group up. A lot of games have a feature like that. but then again, this really isn’t an mmo at all. It’s a survival game. And still very similar to another survival game

    Thats pretty much every Crap MMORPG that has come since WoW.... Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies were good MMO's and a solo player could do anything a group could!!!

    does anyone know if there is a setting to change the upkeep cost of player shops? Essentially it's configured so that if you don't sell within 24h you are losing money. This won't work on a small unofficial server

    iv found that happens if your body moves between logging off and back on especially if on a ship someone else is sailing and it crosses server lines. rejoin server does not work clicking to join server selecting the correct server and telling it to spawn you in freeport gets you back onto your char weirdly. as a small workaround

    Impossible to tame, the only spot i can feed at i always get hit, i built many traps in different ways to try and feed without getting hit but no luck. Its impossible to tame from the side of its back and the sweet spot behind the leg just isnt possible now get any further forward and you get hit.

    Downed an elephant to tame it, and when I try to feed it, it just wouldn't take the food. It shows with "Press E to feed" but it does not work. Tried from different angles..
