And im not sure why these commments about wipe and "dead game" is coming from. And why you would stick around a games forum just to take a dump on it. People really dont have much to do, it would seem. I still enjoy this game, and i will keep enjoying it.

Please remove the demolish option from inventory and actions wheel,or at least dont have the option right next to something like close sails!Middle of the ocean in an unnarmed sloop trying to outrun 2 mobs of sotd, lagging like a 1933 movie, and instead of manouvre, i demolish my sails ,meaning i'm dead in the water with no travel at all.and its not the first time i've demolished stuff by accident when im lagging, you're method of sailing is damn tough enough without the added risk of demolishing parts of or whole ships.and no I dont think its an oversight that demolish always appears right next to an action we use, just take it off the damn wheel or move it to a position on its own please!thx

Good day everyone! The https://exploreatlas.co.uk website has been working on the iOS and Android apps for the last couple of weeks now and we are preparing to submit these to Apple's App Store and Google's Play. Before we go ahead and do that; we are searching for some Beta Testers across many devices on both platforms to feedback any bugs or improvements we can make. ExploreAtlas is a website dedicated to serving information around Resources and Creatures within Atlas across NA/EU PVP and PVE. With over 6000 resources and nearly 3000 creatures logged by our awesome community. We've built a resource navigator to take you straight to the closest resource you are searching for! If you are interested and want to find out more; please visit our Discord Channel where we will send you invites on Test Flight and/or Google Play. https://discord.gg/s3Kr7mp Thanks very much! Problem is there is a huge discrepancy between the involved "costs". A naked with a blackjack isn't a huge commitment. Besides that that whole system isn't really fun or interesting for anyone. I would like to see tames nerfed and make people on foot (or as real mounted soldiers, not this swivel bs) a lot stronger but "use blackjack as counter to tames" is just as stupid as tames themselves. It's fighting cancer with cholera.

The trick is to be the tyrant leader of a mega and force your slaves to farm stats day and night. Jk it's more like lets make a good bear and a bunch of people came together and hunted bears for about a week and we ended up with like 20 bears to throw together into a stew and then some mutations. ~Lotus

You don't get random quality ships from a shipyard. Once you place your shipyard it will produce the same quality ships all the time.

We live with pride in our guild's name. This seal we've carved into ourselves isn't merely decoration. It's the proof of our bonds as a family. Binding our fates together we put our lives on the line. Anyone that steps on that holy vow, be they evil or good, will be cut down. Even if you can kill gods, it doesn't mean that you can kill fairies! We have bent the seas to our will. We defeated the Demon of the Deep and made the Seas of Atlas ours again. We conquered Islands and build a town for all those who seek shelter or rest from the roughness of the Ocean. Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain, or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands! Be part of our Story, join our Adventures! Bring us back into the realm of Gods where we belong. We are located in B7 Brimingcona Haven. https://discord.gg/EYC7epU - sign up and join the biggest Trading and Event Discord on PVE EU.

Here is an idea why can we not have an endgame item called a tavern make it massive so it takes up a lot of space very expensive to craft and what this thing does is it feeds all the npcs on the island so it lowers clutter of food larders EVERYWHERE now its just 1 item feeding all of the npcs on the island and if you want make it so people can customize it for the PVE players. Also while im at it why not make it so the flag pays all of the npcs on the island and npcs of docked boats, this makes it so everyone stores all of their gold on the flag and an incentive for players to conquer said flag for the gain of the gold inside of it. These 2 updates will improve the QOL of the game so much its worth looking into, nobody wants to go around filling 30 chests with gold and food with 10 fps small updates like these will bring players back, please please please consider it.

if you are spending 1 hour sailing 1 grid. The problem is not an in game problem bro. You need to go upstairs and punch your mom in the face . She did a shitty job.

Add currents or something that can show up on the map and change periodically. This allows faster travel and also allows added risk as it shows potential pirates where to look. Risk vs reward. Just an example of actually thinking outside the box. Rather than : " make the world smaller" "Make everyone faster" Stupid suggestions that break the game. Remember the end game is to actually have more people on the seas. When there are more people there is more conflict and less boredom. And no. I'm not talking about pve. PVE do whatever, make everyone super speed. It's all pointless anyways.

Sure, you can but then he respawns and hardly lost anything. There is also the issue that currently carbines become near useless when in bigger fights due to extreme lag (down to not even being able to reload the weapon) and making the cheap "run with blackjack at enemy" strategy even better. But like I said my main concern isn't even "balance" (you could find the right values/costs for that although it will always be a brittle balance due to all the factors involved, especially regarding tames), it's that it simply doesn't feel good/rewarding and is kind of nonsensical on top. Imo the whole land PvP needs a total redesign. From the way guns are handled/used to the role tames play (and with "play" I mean totally dominate it). As long as that's not the case other issues will continue to crop up because there is just no solid foundation (which is why for example explosive barrels, grenades etc go through so many changes).

From what the title says the wild creature spawn rates are way too high, after the update which reduced spawn rate by 60%. I haven't seen anything like this on any of the other golden zones and i have done all 8 others. I mean there was even 2 hydras and just getting to them is a mission with all the leather wings. I will link pictures as proof.

Yes there is. Giving people choice is a bad idea, people need to be directed and ruled with an iron fist. They can't live without it. Besides it simply cannot work. The ingame weather system is there to cause timesinks, in hp loss, wind loss, storms.. etc How do you suggest that works with accelerated time? Or Sotd attacks? Do they accelerate as well? You really need to think before you type. As for minigames.. could work I suppose, but given the distance between islands and regions is almost non existant.. I don't see the complaint as real or even slightly accurate. If you get so bored, so easily, you're probably playing the wrong game.

Client performance is another thing. I'm talking server performance though. Large bases, lots of ships, lots of takes lag entire servers. Let's say a large company has a massive laggy island and another smallcompany has a small base on another island. If no one from the large company is online, the people in the small company will have great performance. If 1 person from the large company logs in, the server turns laggy for EVERYONE in the server because not the server has to feed information from the massive base to even just 1 client. Now add 20 people running around the massive base. The server becomes a laggy mess with that 200+ping we deal with. This will never be fixed unless devs accept reasonable limitations on what the engine and servers can handle.

Imo, wiping the world itself when necessary is fine - but wiping character data - Levels, Discovery Points, etc. is a huge nonono - kills the game
  24. 1 point
No beds on ships? You trying to kill the game further? People die whilst sailing in another grid, they have to spawn back at base and use another ship to go get their other ship, yet won't be able to sail both ships back together? Therefore resulting in abandoned ships increasing. People sail to Golden Age Ruins to use the FoY, they die during a FoY attempt and have to spawn back at base. I don't think you've though that idea through.

Just because some people find it boring, isn't a reason to change it. Personally, I find it calming and relaxing. There's an element of danger from cyclones and damned, esp if you go below decks, I nearly always spawn them then, almost instantly. You can also dive for wrecks every so often, pick up flotsam as well, as drop off at nearby islands and talk to people. So if you're finding it boring.. I think you're the problem.. Not the game.

    100%(base)=lvl 42. 1 lvl per 10% above 100%=lvl 44. the formula is correct.

I forgot to point out in my previous post that in the screenshot that nearest enemy structure has a castle built on that rock. I have my view distance set to max and those structures aren't rendered in. So the block distance seems roughly equal to render distance. Again, it's way too large of an area.

Are you nuts? If you are bored at sea, it's your own fault. There are many mini-games at sea. SotD to fight, or avoid (fog makes this tense) Flotsam to get Sunken Treasure to get Whales to kill Seaweed to get (after getting sunken treasure.) Stars to capture with the Sextant Islands to land on and discover Maps to gather while sailing around islands cyclones to avoid And an actual GHOST ship...a galleon...to fight. Then there is the trench, subs, squids, crabs, etc... If anything, it gets to be too much, especially when you are just trying to get those resources, or tames, back to your base, and don't want a bunch of obstacles in the way. Forgot to mention that repair minigames, which need to be done, regularly, while sailing.

Personally..... I’m still in the 3 flags per player camp..... anything built outside your flags has a 12 hr decay timer..... poof, no refresh.... (for 1 time taming pens).....

It is a gamble, as many things in game are, but the gain could be huge indeed. Bigger than any thing else in game. Personally I always need a reason, and my thrill is heavy defense in pvp. Anyway, the game is dying.
  33. 1 point
Raid gain could be huge. Gold for example.
  34. 1 point
Good, I am glad it is getting boring for you. I never could understand the mentality of players that feel that they need to destroy everyone else's hard work unprovoked. What is the point in raiding anyways? You end up wasting time and resources and generally gain very little in return. You could have spent that time to farm loot from maps or resources for yourself and been better off. Maybe raiders with this kind of mentality will learn that ATLAS is not about raiding player's bases, it is about sailing the seas adventuring, exploring, and Ship-to-ship PVP combative encounters.
  35. 1 point
No.... they need to make structures on land have the same no build radius as water structures.... that would put an end to the ugly thatch foundation spam in lawless.... Drop 3 stone pillars and you can then build your base without worry that a random griefer can build a taming pen 4 strides from your front door.....
  36. 1 point
OR, if it isn't rough enough for YOU, you may leave for an unofficial PVP server bra...Fuck you to think that YOU get to make the rules or tell other players what to do. OR, maybe the current design of the game isn't to par yet and still needs some tweaking to correct this? Just because you have excepted the game the way it is does not mean that it is actually the way it should be...
  37. 1 point
Actually, it would have been a lot better if it was "Offline-Raid Protected" so that if everyone from a company has been offline for more than 20 minutes, all of their structures and tames would have been protected from offline griefers. No need for the silly open hours of PVP, just add the ORP flag and those that feel that they need to rape and pillage can go fight peeps that are actually online and better prepared for their invasion.

Guys, I thought this game is about the Sea, about sea battles, on ships ... at sea. And now it turns out that the game is about ground pvp. I know a few companies that are very good at ground pvp and do not have any warships at all. With such system these companies will always WIN. With this balance we have: 8 hours at work, 2 hours a day for food, 5 hours of sleep per day, 9 hours ground pvp ... Tell me, when can I set the sail? After all, this is a game about the Sea. Or not? Or is this game = ARK 2.0?
  39. 1 point
Most of these rules don't apply to PVE. In PVE settlement ownership gives a benefit to a landholder with no war, the cost to maintain control goes up the more structures you have.. I do believe there is a window where they can demo a settlers structures, but outside of that you really cannot affect each other. Lawless is more akin to ARK PVE foundation spam.

@Jatheish Why restrict name changes? I urge you to reconsider that position. From a technical perspective, it's a no-brainer. The code is already in place for simple renaming. Tracking name history could be added at a later date when the ship's log is expanded. The additional traffic from renaming ships is utterly trivial compared to all the other things the server processes. From an historical perspective, there's a superstition that it's bad luck to rename a vessel but that hasn't stopped thousands of ships being renamed, often multiple times. From an in-game perspective, a ship's name is nothing more than an embossed plank on the stern. From a design perspective, how would renaming a ship interfere with its story? If anything, it could make the story more interesting. I draw to your attention the USS Intrepid which was a ketch built in France for Napoleon. She was sold to the city of Tripoli and renamed Mastico. Captured by the US, renamed to the USS Intrepid and used in the destruction of the grounded USS Philadelphia. From a customer perspective, most people couldn't care less yet many would appreciate being able to rename vessels due to a change of role or role. From a PVP perspective it wouldn't make a lick of difference since ships are constantly created and destroyed. You're not going to have a ship that lives long enough to become famous for its name. Also, I frankly doubt that there's even one poofteenth of a percent of PVPers that would care. From a UX perspective, the Rename Ship option should be hidden if the ship cannot be renamed. (On a related note, would you please have someone rework the wheel menu so that menu items don't change position when timed options expire? So many mistakes get made that way. Simply greying-out time-expired options would be better than updating the button positions while-you-mis-click.) Cheers

And this answers the question why have an island claim in pve. For every decent player just doing thier thing, there is a douche just more then happy to ruin your day. It's MMO 101

They could throw small groups a bone and scale the time by group size. Like a couple hours less for the little guys and a couple more for big.

I like the idea. You'd need an hexagonal map (geodesic sphere) which will give some people confusion but it's very possible mathematically.
