Dear devs, i thank you so much for the stone nerf ! Before that it was a bit too much efforts to cut through players stone garages they have built around their ships, but now with a 2,5 x damage multiplier its just a few explosive barrels and their ships are mine ! Thank you Thank you ! Could you please reduce the cost for barrels a little bit ? Come on, what about 5 fiber and 2 wood for each barrel Cant wait for your next patches to support us offline raiding trolls a little more, maybe another triple damage versus structures could be an option ? 2 minutes to sink a galleon offline seems a little bit too long for me. You are the best, just continue on your path ! You are world champions of game balance.

Saturday, December 29. Just after launch, Atlas achieves its all-time peak of 58,788 players. Saturday, January 5. 50,877 players are online at the peak, a 13.5% decline from the prior week. Not bad - people are sticking with the game. Saturday, January 12. Just under three weeks after launch, 44,130 players are online at the peak, a respectable 75% of the all-time peak population, and a similar 13.25% decline rate. Saturday, January 19. Days after the introduction of the "Old Age" debuff and Fountain of Youth quest, Atlas peaks at 37,166 players, a 15.75% decline from the prior week. Not only is the population not stabilizing, it's bleeding at an increasing rate. Saturday, January 26. Today, with the Fountain of Youth essentially unchanged and the stone building nerf in place, 30,067 people were online at the peak. This is a 19% decline from the previous Saturday - the worst bleed rate in the game's short history - and only 51% of the all-time peak. This game has a problem, and I think I know what it is.

Nothing yet, I have been told by someone who knows someone who has a cousin that works with a guy that was in America and talked to a guy who's sisters dates a girl that lives in the same building as a guy at grapeshot, who says they are looking into it

Devs have you ever heard the expression "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" WTF you done to the materials needed for crafting Stone, now you need Metal AND Organic paste, I get using metal in the gates that has always been fine but now you added it to every thing please just for once use your brains and rollback this change, you screwed the game up last patch now you are just making it worse.

In response to your question, no, that's a little tinfoil hat-ish. Also we can find out the steam id of players we are investigating via other methods This might be something you'd be interested in, a mod made by the community which resolves characters which do not display in game.

Server performance in this game is really strange. I’ve played where there are 20 people in a server and it runs like shit and 45 in the server where it runs fine. It feels like all these little x% inprovements they have been making just change the rendering speed and priority of different objects. Recently I’ll be sailing up to an island and before I know it there are like 15 ships right in front of me.

"My memory. King Robert Baratheon - murdered by a pig. Give me something for the pain, and let me die." - Robert Baratheon, Game of Thrones. Give me something for the pain, and let me die ... geat last words for my own exit from this game. And in the end, a pig is what did me in too. RIP Baby Superpig. Atlas was both, at times, awesome and horrible. There were exciting moments where small bits of hope shined through the ugliness of it's "Early Access" alpha status. Sailing the high seas with my man in search of treasure, narrowly escaping huge storms, watching dolphins arc alongside your ship ... this part of the game is really well done and has a lot of promise for a solid future game. There were times of fun and laughter - seeing a crewmate accidentally hang himself from a noose, or capturing an enemy in a gibbet and forcing them to sing bawdy pirate songs to get released. Political fights of massive proportions including inside betrayals. Trading with neighbors for precious resources - even if just lowly fruit or vegetable seeds worth their weight in gold. These were the good bits. Sadly, the good bits get drowned as quickly as a sailor lost in the open sea of what becomes a vast ocean of problems the game has this early on in its life-cycle. I'm not sure why game developers choose this route for their games these days. In the old days of EQ, WoW etc, you had to be invited to closed beta testing to experience this level of early/broken gameplay. Now, in modern gaming times, you PAY to play this sort of broken gameplay. It's bad. I'm too old for this. Figuratively, and literally in real life. There are just far too many glaring flaws with Atlas for me to be able to continue at this time on the public NA/PvP server. There are hundreds of players everywhere, still struggling to make it work ... but as the bigger fish eat the little fish ... so too do the majority of 'casual' players slowly start to dwindle away in just a month since it's release. Large mega-guilds.... alliances of sharks feeding on all the available smaller companies are beginning to starve, and turn on one another. And this is, at the bigger picture level, how the game will die before it's even completed development. More and more 'refugee' companies (small outfits of friends that can't survive in claimed territories) washed up on our lonely lawless island ... tired and wrung out to dry, having lost everything to bugs or predatory players with no further agenda than wiping them out because. Pirates. That sort of food-chain goes against the equilibrium needed in the predator-prey relationship but humans are, notoriously stupid, as always. Gamers are even worse. They'll prey upon everyone else and then proclaim the game is dead because they won. What exactly have they won in a game not even finished where all the smaller groups of players have already quit? But before I lose the point here, in the bigger picture, let me shrink it back down to the real problems, and sadly it's not even the PvP at all. That's actually going along as expected. "Give me something for the pain, and let me die." Ahh, the Fountain of Youth! I thought that particular game mechanic would be the most painful blow ... and it nearly was. Our characters were 100 years old now and looked like prunes with a horrible multi-stat debuff! This was insane. Adding insult to injury in an already buggy/laggy game - they decided to introduce this ridiculous 'Quest' to get a youth buff to reverse the aging mechanic they designed and implemented without providing any way to counteract it with children/lineage as was promised in the game mechanic they were developing. Seriously - who thinks this stuff up? "Oh hey, we'll put this insanely difficult game mechanic in (FOY) to challenge (read: punish) the players for a broken game mechanic we didn't even finish yet!" Wow. just. wow. So ... My man spent days building ramshackle sloops and sailing from one Freeport to a nearby golden age region, to the next. Over and over he did this with a sort of insane determination most gamers don't have. I certainly don't. I tried to stay awake until 3 am to participate in this spectacularly bad 'event' ... but over and over we died trying to run the gauntlet of high-level monsters. Sometimes he would arrive in a region only to find the FOY had moved on to the next. Sometimes the lag was so bad we couldn't even move or swim let alone evade the high-level monsters. Parking a ramshackle nearby meant it would be inevitably destroyed within hours either by previously mentioned high-level monsters, or players. Or both. But then, he finally made it. In a fluke experimental run to just find out the FOY location or if it was even still there on one particular island, he managed to outrun dozens of Chinese players that had come ashore en masse to run the gauntlet too. Like the running of the bulls, he finally avoided the chaotic aggro of fire elementals, gorgons, and dozens of high-level lions, bats, etc. etc. ... you get the picture. He was rewarded with the promised mythical youth regeneration. Me? I was offline trying to hold our real life together. You know, taking care of our kids, cooking a meal, being tired and making coffee for us. I watched him try to quickly run my character up the beach too from my PC as the opportunity had finally come! But then, our two beds on the sloop were instantly destroyed. Probably the fire elementals I'm guessing. Not players that time (amongst half a dozen lost sloops already lost)... So now my dude is young, and I'm still a 100-year-old crone with a crippling debuff and a young man husband invigorated and ready to go again! Well, this wouldn't work in real life and I can assure you it's not working in this ridiculous game. I'm disheartened and disappointed and he really did try. He even started the whole process all over again this weekend, albeit rather deflated this time because it was going to take days, again, to get that lucky shot at making it alive to the FOY without losing yet another (or half a dozen) sloop. But that wasn't what finally did me in. In the end, like Robert. It was a pig. "My memory. - Murdered by a pig." Because he had spent days building ramshackle sloops and sailing to various FOY regions, my man told me not to bother coming with him - just hold down the fort at our island base - keep our tiny company intact and try to avoid getting into fights with our fractious neighbors in a lawless region. We weren't in the mega-alliance anymore - we "retired" literally and figuratively as both players tired of claimed territory issues and old/debuffed characters too. We'll just hold a small piece of some lawless island until we get rid of this old age debuff! Famous last words. So, to keep myself entertained, I started taming animals. I tamed a bear so our crew-mates could gather fiber and outfit their ships and we could build a small base. I tamed two lions ... The Cadillacs of destruction I rode around proudly on our island, greeting neighbors ... and sometimes eating them ... accidentally or otherwise. We had a strange truce with the Chinese ... talking in short sentences on both sides to keep the language barrier to a minimum. Refugees from other companies and alliances moved in up the beach and we traded materials. I even had a cow to give us milk! Life was simple. And then came the pigs. The War Pigs. It was an addiction, really. First I tamed just one or two out of boredom and for fun... then a few more ... and then before I knew it we had a whole pack of pigs - I think I stopped counting at 10 of them. I selectively tamed only level 25+ wild pigs so they would level up to 50+ and become mini-tanks of death. Kept in a pack and all on neutral stance, they were lethal guards against anyone who tried, accidentally or otherwise, to even lay a finger on our base. Just try to fight 3-4 wild pigs at once, you'll see what I mean. Finally, I had two or three level 60-65 impressive males I was proud of and their 'harem' of lady pigs. Why not try to breed them? And so I did. The first two never made it through gestation ... a server rollback or reset aborted that effort, literally. Another pair kept glitching through the walls and wandering off ... I'd find them down by the beach several times. Maybe guard duty was more important than making little piglets. Who knows. And then it finally happened. We were about to eat dinner and my phone alarm beeped... gestation was up on another two females! I half-heartedly logged in while we were eating to check. Lo and behold, we had piglets! Two males... tiny and nearly dead. It was too hot! (we live on an eastern tropics island) ... we spazzed out and tried to get them to follow us into the shallow pond next to our base to cool them down ... The lions watched from their cathouse roof, licking their lips. One piglet (the superior leveled one, sadly) died immediately. The other barely survived with a few hitpoints to spare. We lovingly hand fed it. At first, it could only hold 5 or 6 berries in its tiny inventory ... but as the hours passed it grew and could go longer and longer ... the stacks of food grew. It ate chickpeas and turmeric, and berries galore! We were succeeding! Through heat waves (barely surviving each one in our covered breeding barn by a nice cool waterfall) and cold nights lighting torches and then snuffing them out before dawn and the inevitable heat to come that day. I nursed this tiny piglet. 6 hours later. Yes, six. It wanted to "cuddle"... the first level of imprinting! I was rewarded for all my hard work with a piggy cuddle and a measly 7% gain on imprinting. No increase to health or other stats other than the slow progress it had already been making. It was 6% matured by then. That's it. Roughly 1% maturation per hour. You do the math there. All this - for a pig? It was 3:30 am. I was exhausted. My man was off trying to find an island with corn ... the pig's 1st preferred food. Perhaps that would help our little piglet mature faster! I had to go to bed. 2 more sows were gestating and would have piglets in 5 hours! They have a 10-hour gestation stage. Well, you can already guess how it ends. Little baby Superpig died while I was sleeping. He either starved or died in a heatwave which happens every other in-game day or so on our island. He lived for less than 10 hours of real-life time when his gestation period was just as long. His total maturation process would have taken ten times that. The six hours I spent hand feeding and guarding him, adjusting the temperature in his barn ... wasted. I didn't even bother to get up for the 'birth' of the other pigs. Why bother? They would just die too. I've read the forums here extensively ... all the stories of the baby bears people spent equally insane amounts of time trying to keep warm with packs of penguins and dozens of campfires. The losses to glitches and server resets too. I guess I thought maybe pigs would be a little easier. More hardy perhaps. Why is this how they want the game's breeding mechanic to be? Why doesn't the MOTHER PIG care for the newborn infant as they do perfectly well in real life? I don't understand why a human player has to hand feed and watch a baby animal with 25 hitpoints die from being too hot, or too cold, or starvation because the humans had to sleep. This is insanity. ~~~ The Fountain of Youth is insanity. The pig (or any tamed animal) breeding is insanity. I'm ashamed to even admit I spent so many hours doing this I was exhausted and didn't do the dishes or get a decent nights sleep for days on end. This is ridiculous. This is not 'extreme survival game' fun. And so, my time in the Atlas world has ended. I'm sure it matters very little to the mega-alliances out there doing their shark tank thing. It probably matters even less to the developers of this game who designed these horribly broken mechanics which punishes me for being a 'casual' player and therefore unable to get to the Fountain of Youth or to raise a humble pig from birth to adulthood unless I either don't sleep for days on end or have 3-4 friends dumb enough to take shifts and help me out (which I would never ask friends to do). It's a pirate game... but the only thing getting pirated here is my sanity and I didn't have much of that to start with since I seem to enjoy subjecting myself to ridiculous early access survival games a lot. "Give me something for the pain, and let me die." I'll never make it to the Fountain of Youth. I am going to release the lions today. I will put them on aggressive stance so they can at least still hunt and feed themselves. My apologies to all the little lawless refugees and Chinese farmers on our island they will probably eat. When they finally do get taken down - at least they will have died free spirits! The pigs? King Henry, Sir Walter, Prince Humperdink and their harem of ladies... Bertha, Gertrude, Big Betty, Brunhilde, Fannie ... and many others... They become the property of our tiny company. There are a few good guys in there I know will feed them and keep them guarding the docks while they plunder for treasure. Feed the bear, she is happy and fat. Milk the cow, or the lions will eat her I'm sure. My character is 100 years old. She wants to swim to the bottom of the deep blue sea and erase the pain and enjoy the few memories of the sea she had... maybe one day this atlas will be a place to return to ... maybe when pigs fly! Oh, the glorious war pigs. Enjoy life, my noble friends! PS: If you're a Game of Thrones fan like me, here's a tribute put to "War Pigs" that is really well done and one of my favorites by Zurik to enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F_PDWZxNBA

... its not that bad. But if that's how you feel then you can fawck0ff. (See what I did there? I crack myself up) I, for one, am choosing not to ragequit like a child. I personally thinks it's better and more mature to make suggestions instead stomping my feet and throwing a tantrum. And the random storm is your tipping point? They barely cause damage and they add a little spice to long tedious journeys. It might be the booze talking but I'm really getting sick of the immaturity around here.

Hello! I think my program is finally ready for public consumption. Thank you for waiting! Its still not even close to perfect and probably has a few bugs. Let's just call it an alpha release for now. Original video: Autoswitching feature: As a refresher this is the program that will dynamically help you open and close servers on the fly so you can play privately on the full official map, with just average hardware. If you can run at least 1 server, this will work, allowing people to even run it on the same computer they are playing on. Main bullet point features: * easily update the ports and ip address across all 225 grids on your map. No more needing to tediously update everything individually on the ServerGridEdior. * Automatically generate all 225 .bat files to start each of the servers * Open and close the server you are on plus the 4 surrounding you (automatically even), any 4 individual servers on the map, or a combination of the two, control up to 9 servers at a time. If your computer can handle more than 1 server, even better! If it can handle 5 grids the program will even track your location and dynamically open all the grids around you so you won't even have to look at the program while playing! A bunch has been added since I lasted showed off the program. Now I include steamcmd and a one click sever setup button as well as an update server function. I also added a redis server on and off switch, so it really now is a one stop shop for nearly everything. It even saves all your settings/locations on close so you don't have to remember anything. The only extra thing you'll need is the servergrideditor from grapeshot. I also wrote out an insanely indepth instruction list, included in the download to hopefully walk anyone, no matter what comfort level, through setting everything up. My apologies, apparently Windows doesn't like the website I setup to download and is blocking everything, so I have to use something stupid like dropbox... Link will also be in the discord server if this stops working. v1.5.4 changelog: Fix for Autosaving on exit not functioning properly. I won't say this is 100% working, but it's the most I will be able to do on my side given the program doesn't actually touch the servers, it's still all dependent on Atlas' autosaving on exit code firing off properly, which can be hit or miss, but in my preliminary tests, I was 5 for 5 on not having a slight rollback on exit and reload of entire server like it was happening before. Rollback may still happen on server updates because it seems for some reason the server is programmed to automatically do that? Fix for slight desync on individual grids, this goes hand in hand on the autosaving not functioning at 100% when switching servers, which may have caused desync, which in turn causes problems reconnecting, problems with the map not updating ship locations, problems with characters not loading. Fix for grids not shutting down on switch or on exit because another square has the server loaded up even though it was not turned on. NEWEST VERSION: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/jp37x0kras14x8j/ASCv1.5.4.zip OLD VERSION: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/lbei9x5t99gaggl/ASCv1.5.zip If you run into any issues/need help on the setup, feel free to join the discord here: www.discord.gg/YHGWPyd Discord is also where future updates will be posted until I can figure out why Windows hates my website. ****If you are trying to add this to an existing server, please backup everything before you do... I doubt there will be issues, but you need to be safe, and I haven't actually testing doing that.

They are unable to fix anything properly, people griefing ships because they can pick up more from the ground than they should be able to, well devs fix is let people glitch out on ships that aren't theirs when trying to enter them rather than fixing the real bug being people able to pickup too many items, log out, log back in, only have 250/250 weight until they drop an item or split their stack in their inventory for it to show the real weight again. So now people just hang from ladders on boats who didnt' pull those up and encumber it like that or just toss items on the deck for it to get encumbered. If they made it impossibru for ppl to get overweight in the first place even the ship dropping method would require a lot of players to sink a ship that way cuz the items dissapear rather quick. Their claim that one of their dev's steam accounts got hacked is also a blatent lie, claiming this wouldn't occur again it only was an invitation to cheaters and hackers to show how quick they could fuck up their network once again. Not to forget that there are countless reports from cheaters and hackers being submitted via their ticket system which are going unanswered where these cheaters and hackers are going on with their malpractices until this very day (if servers were up though). Everything they claim to fix they break it even harder, my two examples are just two of them, I bet alot of dissatisfied customers could come up with plenty more stuff. Oh and not to forget their wonderous Fountain of Youth they implemented while about all players in game who have a character since launch are now receiving a very nice age debuff which they can only get removed when they travel to a Golden Age area where all people have to be right now and it only can hold up to 150 players in theory, in practice this wouild mean about 50 players to play it as it's meant to be played. But right now people just have to run through the lagfast that it is naked and hope for the best to reach the magic sparkles at the end of the cave. Same goes for powerstones apparently the much anticipated and praised end game they are trying to fix with each patch while their core game mechanics are broken beyond recognition. How are people supposed to play this game when everything is bugged and we have to find workarounds just to be able to progress in nearly each part of this game rather than playing as intended. Far worse might be the interaction the devs have with this community, far too many people havea already noted and stated that they mostly listen to cringy streamers and crybabies in general rather than looking at these forums and see the daily return of many topics where players are most frustrated about. No they gonna nerf all kinds of stuff cuz some half ass streamer is giving them a bad rep about it on stream. The only thing those devs want is to keep this game look like it's shiny and fun on the streams until they raked in enough of our hard earned cash. Because let's face it, they robbed us from our money to let us play this aggrevating crappy coded "so-called-pirate-mmo". If I wanted to grind my ass of for materials I would have kept playing 7 days to die or would have reinstalled minecraft to have a better experience in harvesting and building stuff without having to fear that none of my work is still there when I log back in. Let's have a look at the two twitters that are posting most of Atlas news and updates, now the official Atlas twitter is probably not into replying anyone at all just for posting update news and patch notes when Needed. Jatheish on the other hand is far more active with giving the community constant updates when shit goes wrong but also keeps posting ETA's that are never and are always late. Even seen people complain once about an ingame server message stating servers will restart or go down in 20 minutes, so players were rushing to a safe haven when on sea or make sure they got inside a house to logout before server goes down, what happens, server goes down only 5 minutes after that message appeared, making alot of players unable to logout safely with all the negativity as a result, players losing just their gear and die once ok very annoying, but those who never had a fair chance to park their boat somehwere lost alot of progress once again. Now besides their shitty communication skills and their non-existant clock reading skills the only one who replies to certain tweets is Jatheish, the pain in the ass there is that he only replies to either positive comments or comments that have no informational value what so ever. Like last night he replied to a guy asking how often he must have said a certain word this year already whlist the majority of replies on his tweets are about the cheaters, the bugs, the game not being fun in general, those replies are being straight out ignored just as most of the topics are being ignored here on this forum by any official person. They implemented moderators and community admins, god knows why because the ones who should be more active on this forum are the devs, they should learn how to use their eyes and brain at the same time and read the massive reports of players that are begging for fixes in areas they have ignored since launch. Yet they bring out and even brag about their new features while the core mechanics of this game are still broken, people are still playing on 250 ping servers whilst having to deal with all the buggy shit that comes with predators, land claims, ship building, alphas, cheaters, hackers, and now we have rollbacks and constant patches that break stuff just a simple like doors no longer opening, if someone would just run the software they managed to compile before they release it as an update they can prevent so many gamebreaking issues with each patch they release but nope, we are the guinneepigs, we are the rats in the wheels and why? Like most paid forumtrolls state here it's an Early Access game you should have known what u signed up for... It's early access I get it, but doesn't that mean that what it describes in the EA stuff is that they are taking notes from customer feedback and listening to their playerbase on how to improve things? I've seen their Twitch live Q+A stream and I can tell you, there was no real Q+A part, it was just them talking about things they gonna implement while the playerbase is crying on the twitch chat to be aknowledged and to point out that devs are just ignoring the whole Black Butterfly incident by not even mentioning it once in their nearly 2 hour talk. To be honest the best description of that stream I read on this forum somewhere was someone saying those 4 guys at the mental hospital got some time off together and placed in a room with a webcam, this made my day just that little bit better because let's be honest, this weekend was horrible for those who actually took the time to play the game. Rollbacks, Fountain of Youth and Rollbacks. This fountain of youth thing is so poorly designed and shows how badly these developers are connected with their playerbase, we had freeport at launch that was overpopulated and with that mechanic they were lucky enough that there were plenty of freeports (and lawless areas) where people could eventually spawn, it wasn't enough for launch but it was somewhat managable. Right now u have to have the entire population of one server (NA PVE fe) to rush to one single grid where that fountain of youth is at, one grid that can hold 150 players maximum (in theory but in practice u get a ping of 250). So let's say about 5-10k players who have started near launch are now all over age 90 and have a debuff for being that old implemented on them whilst they dont' have the alternative at hand to make babies in game they are all forced at the same time with a serious debuff to find that fountain of youth before their character dies permanently losing all the progress and gear and landclaims and boats (if u play solo or have really small company where u all die before reaching it). So yeah, if one of those devs would ever have played on an official server and had to deal with all the previous bullshit before even thinking about going to a fountain of youth together will the rest of the playerbase at the same time they would have never implemented such a feature without having alternatives for breeding or even releasing something that makes us all get a random younger age. Cuz this issue will repeat itself in a couple of weeks when EVERYONE who's now 20 again will be at the age of 90 again, and yea you have to be 90+ to get a nice buff each time you go back after the age of 90+ you get a buff over your buff. So tell me, am I exaggerating anything here? People who played this game for a few weeks now know very well that the way Grapeshot throws out updates is like a blind man playing darts, throw as hard and as fast as you can and see if one hits the bullseye, more misses than hits in this field. There are some obvious forum trolls here of which I hope they aren't being paid by Grapeshot to keep the negativity down by having so many people countering it with rediculous answers as: git gud, or learn to play, or game isn't made for soloing. I get it it's an MMO, but people all have to start out solo and the game mechanic only let's u stay on newbie island (freeport) until lvl 8 which is so low your chances of survival outside freeport are really small when u play alone and start to find land to claim to build a ship in case u want to start your own company and not become another companies slave to go pick cotton or other resources all day long whilst the guys who run the big companies get to play command & conquer while u play minecraft/lumberjack simulater. They already stole our money after their terrible launch and steam still refuses to do refunds even when u try to explain all the issues ot them in a lenghty conversation like this one, u still get standard replies and support staff doesn't read your sentences the way you have written them. When I write: my first 20 hours of "gametime" were me sitting in main menu trying to login to a server. They read: you played 20 hours and thus Steam will not refund you after this much gametime. Now we all knew steam support can also be a pain in the ass sometimes, now we have to deal with Atlas dev team and Steam Support simultaniously. For those who gonna be trolls and say why u still play when u wanted refund and can only complain about it? Because I got robbed of my 25$ while Steam refuses to refund the damn thing due to timer things I felt obligated to play and see if I can still get fun out of it after each update and patch, as most of you trolls claim it's EA and (might/will) get better. Well it doesn't, they break the experience for most of us with each update they roll out or roll back. I would also like to ask my fellow pirates who have had enough of this idiotic way things are going to just spam Jat and Atlas tweets as soon as they pop up with youtube videos of griefers, cheaters, bugs, glitches, anything that shows what a poor product this is to make sure they aren't fooling other people into buying this game until it might actually be playable. Please don't hesitate to even copy past my entire post here to spread the message on reddit, other forums or just in here in case mods think this should be deleted, as I have read from several users on this forum that posts about their incompetence get deleted sometimes. Good luck to all of those who are still trying to play the game after all these things that happened, but for me it was over a few days ago, I'm done grinding to establish a little base and some boats on my own, I know it's not of solo players, but if u started this game with 5 friends and end up alone after a few days into the game u don't feel like joining a big company just yet, u try to build up a base and boat to show your friends and hope they want to play on from that part since they could skip the grindy part, but nope, it's so bad that they refuse to play it any longer and me myself have jumped ship and joined their boat, not playing boat. I will keep being a pest to this company until A: this game is a proper playable game (don't count on it). B: they refund this game to me (depending on steam here). As long as I feel like being ripped off, I'll be ripping on these nitwits as well. This is what I picture how the game Atlas itself feels like if it were alive:

When did they decrease the range at which non company players can place foundations around established bases? So not only have you guys increased damage to stone but increased cost and reduced the area of ownership so players can literally drop a foundation and cannons right on your base? Don't even need bears to haul cannons. WTF are you devs trying to do? Chase every small company away from the game? We literally just got fully offlined by 5 guys spamming foundations and cannons. Took us 2 weeks of work to establish in that area after being kicked out of 4 other zones by zergs now we get offlined daily with no way to defend against it. This game is a fucking joke now. Sad part is I have to sit through this crap because my friends don't want to give up because: "the devs will fix it soon" How many countless farming hours do I have to go through before you take your heads out of your asses? Salty...yep. Would I join a big company sure but all my friends want to do their own thing and I am stuck watching these nincompoops botch every change they make for the game. Since you guys seem to not give a flying fuck about how your game works why not throw down and do something no other game has done and implement this: Anchored ships whos owner is offline are invulnerable after "x" amount of time for a 24 hour period at which time if not used they go back to normal state. It would seriously reduce the amount of gates present in game which = better zone performance. Add Larger blocks which reduces object counts even more. It won't help with on grid load lag but server corruption/performance it will. All the other games of this type have all but died aside from Rust and there is a specific reason for that, a semi un-raidable base can be put up in an afternoon. (I shouldn't say unraidable because they all are but a base that costs more to raid then loot would yield is easy peasy) Any DayZ server I have ever played on with offline protections for cars or choppers or even bases has been a full server. Why because most normal people understand the fun is in actual pvp not griefing the guy who had to work all day. While yer at it add some parking via gold in freeports if you don't wanna do anything better. At least we have an option to park our brig and galleons somewhere they won't get offlined again daily.

I got fed up with the vultures and heat issues I was having on H5 and decided to sail away hopeful to find a new piece of land, upon entering a area I found promising and the fact I had to sign off to take my daughter to the movies, I made landfall and took off with my flag held high for hopes of blue showing as I ran along, 10 steps away, then 20 and low and behold I struck the gold and planted my flag, claimed came a few mins later and I jumped back on my ship and signed off, once I returned from the movies I wanted to see what I had gained, figured it was just a small spot with overlapping lines but I was impressed to say the least but my line did cut through the middle of a existing structure, so I was down hearted once again but I figured that perhaps I would be able to obtain that other half as well, so off I went with my flag held high once more and believe it or not there is was, that shimmering blue light that makes us grin, slammed down in the ground and to my surprise it wasn’t contested. The timer counts down and I wait, knowing someone would pop out of a ship or building and ruin my day. As the time runs down the more excited I become, thinking to myself “Oh wow what a find, wondering what had happened that someone put so much work into it and just leave it”, well I was set, the timer ended and the message appeared CLAIMED !! I was grinning from ear to ear, away from the misery and frustration of H5 to something new and probably just as problematic but I am hopeful. I didn’t want to be greedy so I stowed everything away jumped in the bed and transported myself back to H5, unclaimed several of my flags, keeping only one for a “WTF do you mean I have to give it back scenario” loaded my goods up that I felt was worth keeping without placing to much weight on my brig and set sail, taking a different route than before and grinding my teeth just praying that I would make it there, I managed to pull it off with only a few hits from the ghost ships but luckily not enough to sink me. Got there, got moored, ran up to my new establishment and locked the doors, said the pirates prayer and signed off, was just so excited that something was finally going my way I just had to share. Now I’m not proud of taking what someone else has put so much effort into but in my defense I have no idea if they got banned for cheating, switched to a different server or just simply quit playing, the structures there seems to be decomposing and no one was sleeping so I felt it was fair game. I try to consider the work people have done in the game but as a player I have no idea what is really going on. hope the message inspires others to look around before giving up

Sorry , what were each grid supposed to hold 150 players? This is a few days after a 5% server performance boost. Any chance you can stop work on the upcoming patch, what is it, "oh Yea" Bounty system and fix the shit you have already. I can tell you now, with the amount of offline raiding going on now, your bounty system is going to be a heap of bugfest crap.

I have been helping my Alliance the past days to find the location of the FOY so they could refresh their age. All you need to do is go to battlemetrics, search for "Golden" in your server Cluster and see where the most players are. this is usually the spot of the Fountain. When it changes, you see a shift in players to the next server when refreshing. People also already learned the switching pattern even tho I don't know if it changed with the introduction of a second location. It works best of course when many people are playing. It also might work less good now that the majority already got the Fountain. But it can give a little hint where to look at.

    1. All the land was taken. 2. Those that did get land have to grind out mats 24/7. This gets old. People just want to build. 3. PvP players are nearly impossible to retain. 4. Golden Ruins and the Fountain of Youth. 5. The guild system sucks. Everyone is soloing of in super small groups. 6. The only combat in this game is ranged. Melee is useless. This turns off a lot of players believe it or not. 7. No clear objective. These are the things I see around the internet and in discord. Streamers on launch day were their only real chance to make this game explode. Streamers have said it sucks. So it is written, so shall it be. Cause and effect. Oh ya and the fact that you need metal and paste from hell to make something the stupid creatures wont destroy or glitch thru. That was a BIG one!

Nothing but glitches, chinese hackers and a massive lack of content. This game blows, dev more. Edit: Oh and the bullshit waterspouts in the ocean seem like filler because dev's couldn't come up with anything different. AC4 anyone?

So someone put up a song that peaked my interest i Ive decided to take it on and try to jazz it up a lil bit. Its a simple song but recently we had some changes to the base and when i check in over here and saw DARUDES sandstorm was posted it fit in perfectly.. This ones a tough cookie for me only because im going to attempt to program AHK to do a rhythm and led at the same time. Here goes...

There are a few silly things in this game that bother me endlessly. First, the vitamin system (pretty much all of it), but specifically ... milk doesn't give vitamin D. The milk in the US is fortified with it, which is pretty much completely unnecessary since the body synthesizes vitamin D utilizing sunlight. Drinking 4 glasses of milk will not kill you. You cannot overdose on vitamin C. Not at least in the levels that we're doing it in the game. The body evacuates it in urine. It's water soluble. Most people should be able to get by on meat with a little berries and a little greens. This silly ass system feels like a virtue signal for kale lovers. ------ Farmers do not force berries in the mouths of newborn mammals. They eat from their mother's titties. They can't ingest berries. They are also endothermic, which means that they regulate their own body temperatures. If it's cool or cold, they rely on the heat from their mother. This silly ass breeding system feels like it was dreamt up by someone who has never seen a farm. Or a film about farms. Or ever read a book. ----- Rafts don't work that way. ---- Manta rays don't actually have teeth to bite with, and they are very laid back. You can put your hand right in their mouths and they will just gum it looking for a handout. ----

And, inevitability this was going to happen... moments after voicing concern about weakened stone bases it happens. Someone placed a foundation and mortared us. I was able to capture a lovely screenshot of a mortar round on impact. ~30,000-40,000 combined damage seems high . The whole assault was a few minutes and just knocked the place over like a cardboard fort. It happens... It's a pirate war game. I'm not here to cry. My complaint is how unbalanced it is now. The effort to topple our base was very minuscule to the effort to make the base. People need to log off sometimes and sleep or work. If my ships get sunk, whatever. But, I need a workshop to rebuild. I hope they reconsider this.

I recently added a dinghy dock to my schooner. Ive noticed that after redocking the dinghy (I row up close, get off the seat but stay on the dinghy, choose dock from the radial menu and ride the dinghy up to the deck of my schooner) that I experience noticeable rubberbanding when walking. My ping is low and quitting to the main menu and rejoining fixes it so it seems its a functional issue rather than a performance issue current version: Client: 16 server 16.2

Everyone that hates atlas, hates it for a reason. Everyone that loves atlas, loves it for a reason. The only thing we have in common is that we want atlas to be good, right? from this moment on, I will set a challenge for everyone on every side of the spectrum. if they do something good, I am along everyone on the anti side to be cool with it and give credit where credit is due. on the other side. I will also expect the pro side to be just as passionate(no matter what their view) that if they messed up, you call them on it. Can you do it? I can. If you don’t join up, it’s on you. We all know how wildcard is but until there is a true united front, nothing will happen. screw it jean, yeah it was good they banned people. I won’t even say anything else. at the same time, shouldn’t matter if you like the stone change or not, you know a lot of people don’t like it right? Then hop on board.

I am playing this game as I love ARK but hated all of the "must raid" everything mentality of the game and all of the crazy flying dinos. I feel that flyers ruin the game. This game is very similar to ARK in regards that it has the build system, cooking, and taming features that I really love. I do like PVP, real actual PVP, just not the Offline PVP. I live on a very large and plentiful island in the lawless region so I feel like I am at home in ARK. I even enjoy a short trip of sailing to the other islands in my same server I just don't like the hours of hours of sailing to visit different island after island aspect of the game. I also don't like the part of this game where my ships are always subject to griefers while I am sleeping. It is very annoying and disheartening to have to rebuild a new ship daily.

I'm the old man in this duo. I'm the guy with the focused power of autism who was sniping people at the beach defending our beds, running and learning how to perform this incredibly badly designed content. At this point I'll just say that the design choices in this game are flat out abusive. One of the two of us has to work and the other one has to take care of the rest of it - so between us we have time to play at different times and sometimes together. I often forgo sleep in order to do what I want to do in games but it's gotten to where I'm spending a lot of un-fun time getting things accomplished that are unnecessary. FOY is an example. That 's straight up shit content that demonstrates incompetence. I said it, and I mean it. If that is the best that you can come up with, and you don't realize the consequences then you really are just not qualified to be designing games. That's not meant to be hurtful, it's just how it is. I'm not a bad player, but we're in a small company by choice. When I say small, I mean 8 active players. I recruit new players often, try to teach them the game but this is not a game that you can really expect to keep people interested in. I'm fighting the design most of the time. I won't derail this excellent post with my own issues which I've detailed elsewhere. I'll just say that it's a heartbreak to see my love leave the game, and that pretty much finishes me too. I tried very hard to make it possible for her to play casually, but dear god this game just puts obstacles in the way of actually enjoying it at every turn. We can say "early access" - but the stone changes and the fountain of youth aren't early access problems. Those are problems introduced by the developers that were moved here from ARK - a set of developers famous for being really, really bad. I think this game, unless something changes, is really fucked.

Very well written post with very valid points, all of which I completely agree with. I too stopped playing the game two days ago. While I liked the game, I struggled with all the bugs and fail mechanics (save me the blanket 'it's an early release' BS excuse) before hitting the same straw that helped break my camel's back- the fountain of youth. I found the fountain areas extremely laggy and changing locations way too frequently when I was attempting this asinine mandated process. The character weight mechanic is already ridiculous so having the further nerf to that for being over 90 made finding the fountain a no option decision. Once you actually found the frequently changing location, trying to thread your way through the legs of massive amounts of rock elemental and other creatures as well as griefers laying down or crouching to block your path as you endlessly rubberband back and forth due to the number of players and NPCs in the area while trying not to throw up from the sickening low fps visuals was not in the least bit fun and downright aggravating and nauseating. Two times, I attempted this asinine mechanic at two different locations and BOTH times I and the boat and bed I was spawning on were teleported out of the area due to too many people on the server. So after investing the time to get a boat there and attempting to actively work on this asinine broken game mechanic which I felt forced to do, I am kicked out of the server I spent an hour just getting to and trying to run? It's ok though because as I said, this was only part of the straw that broke my camel's back. The other was the day after the last attempted fountain of youth when we had the issue where no one could transfer out of the server they were in. I found myself logging into the middle of the sea that morning nowhere near where I logged off in base (ANOTHER rollback). I could not transfer out of this area all day after being killed by a shark and repeated attempts to simply 'rejoin atlas' resulted in being randomly tossed to the new character screen and I have not seen my character since. I tried all the fixes suggested online (other than someone dragging my body as that was somewhere in the middle of the ocean) but nothing resolved being tossed to the new character screen. I saw promises from Atlas that this was being looked into last week but the updates since then have not resolved my issue nor was my individual support ticket from last week even answered. I should have paid attention to the red flags of the connection this developer had to Ark and Dark and Light (another game that had potential that the devs appeared to intentionally screw up) and not even bothered purchasing Atlas but lesson learned for future game purchases. If support is reading this, feel free to continue to ignore that support ticket submitted last week, that character that disappeared by simply hitting 'rejoin Atlas' and nothing more doesn't need the fountain of youth anymore, she has seen the true light.

I haven't logged in for days, the devs completely killed this game. Tell all my friends who (for some unknown reason) consider buying this game to avoid it like the plague, I foolishly fell for the hype, didn't want to believe all the ark players telling me what I was getting in for, oh how I wished I had listened and not wasted £20. Literally only browse these forums and the sub-reddit to see if the devs have actually grown a brain cell yet. I can honestly say these are the worst developers I have ever seen, and iv'e been playing games for over 20 years... Would literally rather shit in my hands and clap right now than play this abysmal piece of shit game.

That's genuinely sad (but well-written). Grapeshot Games is a disaster. It wouldn't take more than a few minutes to change the breeding coefficients, but I guess their decision-making process is what's really broken.

I've seen this suggested before, and it really badly needs to be fixed, for both PVP and PVE. Right now if you look at the live map of the top 10 companies it's not about how big of a company they have, but about how many land claim flags they have spammed across the whole game world. You see a huge cluster around two or three islands than you see all these random flag's spammed everywhere out at sea all over in nearly every grid. That and the fact that even solo players can spam flag's all over and can claim huge chunks of land for themselves just add's to the issue of there not being enough land for everyone. Yes I get that you can steal land from players, yes that they made it so the more flags you have the smaller your timer, but the method of it is annoying and time-consuming. Like for pve needing to sit there for 4 hours to contest a flag, and if any person unrelated pass's by the time gets reset. Plus who has time to contest ALL THE WATER CLAIM SPAM? The game as it stands isn't about pirating, it's about how much land you can own, and it's forcing more and more people to settle in lawless as that's all we have left at this point, that and many don't want to see all their hard work ripped out from under them just because they leave and go sailing, and with it taking hours to get to somewhere your land can be ripped away before you can make it back. This ruins the game for those in smaller companies or those who like the solo challenge. Most my time in ARK PVP was solo, and I enjoyed it. in Atlas? Not so much. Also we shouldn't be forced to join big companies to enjoy the game we bought. If we want to just play with a group of friends we should be allowed to, and not be forced to join a bigger company just to make any headway in the game. My suggestion is simple: Limit the land claim to 1-3 per player, along with 1 water claim. If you are in a company, Limit the land/water claim to 1 extra per X amount of recruited players, let's say 5 for a starting example. So a company of 5 would still have the extra1 land and extra 1 water claim, if they get a 6th member, that boosts them to 2 land and 2 water capping at 10 members. They get an 11th member, they now have 3 land and 3 water. If you join in with a company, any land/water claim you have is removed after 6 hours. This to counter people abusing the system by starting solo than joining up once they claim land, and it gives those who join a company a safety timer to get their stuff moved before their flag poofs (because resources are heavy and it can take several trips). You can also limit how many allies you can have to avoid people just running everything solo with everyone just set as allies. This will encourage companies that truly want to get big to recruit more players and own a land claim size that they can reasonably support with their player numbers. Let the top 10 TRULY be the top 10 by their player count, and not by how many claims they can spam across the whole world. This will also allow smaller companies and those who like playing solo for the challenge a chance to own and control land that is reasonable to their size. It will also change the focus of the game more to its theme, Pirating. Let raiding and exploring be the main focus, and not about wiping people and trying to steal as much land as possible. Let land stealing from others be the focus of those who are able to expand by adding more players to their company, or for new companies looking for a spot. This can make land disputes truly be disputes. I would also suggest a hard cap on how many max land claims a company can have regardless of size to avoid the servers being overrun by huge companies that eventually just take over the world. With how big of an area a single land claim is, and the limit of what was it? 500 players per company? (and a lot of them the Chinese players) that's a lot of lands used up even with this limit in place. So a hard cap need's to be set, or after a set player amount you need more and more players to gain that extra land claim. So say if you have 50+ players. instead of every 5 for a new land claim its every 10 players. Land is limited as it is, and with the current system, there's not an inch of land to be had even in the tundra areas as that's where most have all gone too. Adding in the tax system didn't fix the issue either, it just made people all the more greedy to own as much land as they can muster to get more of that tax. With this kind of suggested limit, players will control only as much land as they can support with their player count, it'll free up large sections of land that are currently just spam claimed by solo and smaller companies. This is a pirate themed game, not a SimCity themed game. https://map.playatlas.com/ Just look at this mess. Is this REALLY what the main focus of the game should be?! Please like and upvote this post if you agree that a pirate themed game should be about PIRATES and not about getting as much land as you can!

What's more important is that the claims system just doesn't work. Between the bugs or incomplete bits and the problems with neutral flags, they need to rework the mechanic from the ground up. PvP you can just kill people and work around the issues.

I pair treasure hunt with discovery.. dumb part is. I´m always maxed out in levels and you gain way way way faster exp than you can max out your level cap, so you basically waste exp on treasure hunts which annoys me a lot. But I agree.. discovery are tedious and annoying. If the islands would at least have something special to it, but they are just plain copies which are rotated a bit. Even discovery points are the same on a lot of islands with the same base layout.

Edit: You can also use a spyglass to see floatsam quality. Don't think this works for the message in a bottle pretty sure you have to swim up to see their quality but I would have to go find one real quick to verify. AMBERENIX Ahoy Pathfinder, I'm very sorry to hear that you lost your character this way. I can understand how devastating this feels and at this time I wish I was able to bring your character back but I sadly am unable to at this time. Please know we are looking into this issue so we can prevent it from occurring again. Here are some options you can try to retrieve your character back that has sometimes worked for other players: Option A. Try logging onto another network IP (like switching to wifi) Option B. Have another player move your body to a freeport, select the same freeport to spawn into it and it log in. Option C. Back up local save, uninstall/reinstall Atlas, then try to relog. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to offer more support with this and prevent it all together. Pathfinder, please know that I appreciate your patience and time and feel free to reach out to us in the near future should you have any questions or concerns in the near future!
