    I can't speak for Atlas's ingame cats, but Richard Parker and Miss Cadence having been making themselves a nuisance this morning with their unreasonable demands that I get up and feed them their canned food. Cats completely fail to respect the concept of the weekend, or sleeping in. They are all up in my grill, as the kids say these days.

    Thanks! haha I'ma tell ya now my armored brig never hits above 40% weight and yes I put points in weight, have pleeeeeeeeeenty of supplies and yes I do add res/dmg in the skills as well. No I don't have to run because of sustainability. Yes I play PVP, probably more on the water than on land. The "85%" you sayin wants this is about 25 people.... thats seen this thread. Every single one of my crew do not want this and thats about 25 people right there. Add the allies and friends I have outside my company, prob round 40-60 people that side with me on keeping the speed the way it is. This is styled to be an MMO. Its not ark. We're not on one map where you can just jump from one server to the next and start fighting immediately. This game is styled so that you have to PLAN OUT SHIT. So stop whining about not having time to do crap and make a damn plan to do it derp. "I can't attack this guy because hes 4 grids away and the winds never right. " Then inch you tail closer and set up a FOB nearby. And if ya tell me "they'll see that coming" well then just stop playing because your creating immediate failure without even doing anything.

    Don't u see that this here is exactly the problem and why ppl don't agree with you? It's your choice to overload your ships this much. Why should everyone have to suffer because you guys choose to build and load so heavy? You want everyone else to be "flexible" and be fine with the idea that the big griefing companys can get around even faster with their heavy loaded pvp-ships. How about you guys would be "flexible" and adapt your style instead?

    But. If you increase default minimum speed.. don't you also increase default maximum? It's your choice to have all those extra cannons and cballs etc..it's your choice how you spec your ship levels. Incidentally, I spec my haulers exactly the same as my combat ships. 225% resist 125% stubborness 2-4 pts in accomodation. Maybe 1 extra crew.. just for the round number. 0 in weight.. 300 weight per pt.. hahaha!! no chance am I wasting a pt on that.

    well done grapeshot, you officially broke the game, cannons don't work on army of the damned anymore, think about it, A massive cannon ball, a ball of steel fired right at the undead doesnt work... but little baby pallets fired out of a blunderbuss does?? the bear cannon is now worthless in pve. why not fix the treasure maps instead of nerfing the entire game, and effectively breaking it for a lot of players i assume... make the treasure maps give less xp or make the army of the damned harder, sommething like that. but no you decided to make the cannons worthless against the army of the damned, this is the most stupidist thing in the entire history of game "fixes"

    I would really like to tax our own company members like you can tax others. In Eve, taxes affected your own people and it allowed for the ability for guilds to provide a lot of ships and stuff for their members. The same would be nice for ATLAS. Being able to tax company members would allow for most companies to be able to provide for their members and reduce the needs to resource constantly.

    The Total People mod might be worth you looking at. It spawns in hostile NPCs that will attack the player, but which (like an Atlas animal) can be tamed and put to work. I haven't tried it myself yet.

An update from the Dev team here at exploreatlas.co.uk If you use the official JSON for the singleplayer to bring in all 225 regions; you can use the website as you would on any of the 4 official servers. The only difference may be to do with what resources lay in the FREEPORT areas. So please bare that in mind. With the recent updates allowing more people to explore JSONs; we will soon be releasing a new feature that will allow users to upload a .JSON onto the website and that will then import the Singleplayer of Unofficial server grid (And predefine Create & Resource spawns). This should create a convenient and easy way for you to explore. We're in the testing phases so this may still take a week or two longer. But we're confident that you guys will love this. We have also made updates to the PVE point calculator which now displays correctly the new MIN & MAX points.     Because I may as well, since I haven't seen another player in at least thirty hours of play. Not on land and not at sea. I put something in Chat like "Hi!" or "Any locations for Salt?"... crickets. No community, no-one to trade with, no-one to team up with, even Freeports are absolute ghost towns. What's the point in my joining a so-called public server and having to play, to all intents and purposes, a single-player experience? The advantages to singe-player gaming are: no foundation spam; no offline raids; no zerging; no toxic players; I can try mods out for quality of life improvements and added content; I can build as big a base as I want and make it as extravagant as I want; no claims to worry about; I can learn ALL the skill trees if I want to, to see what I might be missing in gameplay. I also don't have to join a Company if I don't want to, because while I met some great people in Atlas I also encountered a LOT of dickheads that I wouldn't hang out with in a million years. Atlas was INTENDED to be a MMO with a large player-base and a thriving, player-driven economy... well, that just didn't happen, so it's Unofficial servers and single-player for me. from now on. I put about 5 mods in that I liked the look of and they all work. I don't see an "approved list" mentioned?

    First off I agree it is too easy to train. But one again that is just like ark, almost to a T. Next, there can’t be an 8hour window because that simple still won’t work. You are right in this. I wouldn’t take 8 hours for a medium, let alone a Megas at the very least to wipe someone. The 8 hour raid timer was also one of the many bad decisions they made

    Im sure this will come soon And Totally agree that this should be an Option. We Are Hosting the Kraken each week so we have Plenty of ships at our island at that Point,but as the Crew First Takes Gold from Ressource boxes And then from the flag Most wont even take anything from the flag,yet there still is the small Chance of griefing but i Dont think it will be that bad.

    My Landowner is a foundation and pillar spammer (EU-PVE C11 Bermere Peninsula) and preventing me from building new shipyards (replace them) by your stupidly oversized water blocking range. Decrease this range and remove single useless pillars and foundations on that island!

    Exactly this is what several ppl have been telling him now since he started this topic. But he keeps claiming how it is for all us. No matter how many times you explain him how this is only good for the big agressive companies, that do not want to put in the effort (aka being lazy). I think he might only shut up if u tell your company members to come here and vote now and he actually see's the numbers. And @Willard don't even start with "do u even PvP". I do - and unlike your company mine still excists!

    CURRENT: V208.1 - Single Player Beta Mode Note: Whilst not a formal system, Singleplayer users can play on any world json they want, by just replacing these files: \ShooterGame\ServerGrid.json \ShooterGame\ServerGrid\ (the map images) When doing so, please back up your SavedAtlasLocal folder, and then delete your save data using the in-game save delete button. - Claim Flags now have a toggleable setting in Settlements mode which allows Settlement owners to choose whether to pay and feed the NPC Crew for allies or everyone settled on the island. This will be displayed in the top-right hand corner HUD. A single + means ally crew will take gold/food from claim flags. ++ means everyone will take gold/food from the claim flag. A lack of + means that only the settlement owner's crew will be able to take good/food from claim flags. - Magic Mythos is now active for the weekend: 2x bonus rates for Harvesting, Taming, XP and Gold!

    If anything they'll just nerf everything to the point where noone is playing, then they'll blame new releases etc for their own failure to see what everyone else see's as obvious. But that doesn't mean sailing speed needs to be increased. 19 knots is plenty for me. What I want is an auto pilot.. that reads a plotted course between map markers. Then I can sit and use my fishing net.

    At least in PVP, but probably in PVE too, the problem with fast travel, increased speed and those kind of things is that it increases power projection. As annoying as long trips are, I'd be careful with that because the cure could be worse than the disease. I don't know if it would be possible but id love if they add a system to calculate the best route for trips forecasting wind and weather, maybe combining it with the sextant compass, and giving you an aproximate arrival time.

    nothing wrong with current sailing speeds, what they do need to fix is speed sails actually giving speed sail bonus. if the default is made faster the game will be broken very fast. reminds me of ark where a few guys would show up run turbo speed across the island, spam C4s then disappear so fast that you couldn't find them much less catch up to them while mounted. cept here it would just be done with ships. And if you make ships faster, SODs would have to become faster too, not to mention whales.

    In Pve. Can activate other peoples' ice boxes, thus allowing griefing by destroying their supplies if they're offline etc. Should not be able to interact with someone elses stuff. Except maybe water barrels.

    Haha yeah I get where the both of you are coming from. In all honesty I think increasing speeds for the sake of making PvP less difficult to get to at distance would be a bit of a short sighted mistake. If you are using current game politics, geography, and server populations to form this opinion it is in direct contrast to what the devs envision this game to be when it officially launches. They see a world with many more people in it. Conflict will be readily available in your neck of the woods. People complain enough about offline raiding. Megas. PvP mechanics in an open world. The complaints that would arise from people being able to sail much further in the same amount of time would only increase. Griefers Atlas wide would rejoice in being able to reach new victims.

    If you didn't care about winning or losing.. why are you demanding more speed, why does it matter if you get there faster to lose? Your argument makes no sense. You want to get to your enemies faster. So you can kill them faster. To then get to more enemies faster.. but what about their needs? Isn't your inability to sail faster their defence? Don't they have a right to that time period? Or is the game only here for you. You don't want to spend another 100 hours.. well bully for you. Maybe your "enemies" or "victims" don't want to spend another 500 hours rebuilding because people keep appearing out of nowhere to annihilate them. Building advance bases and employing more crew.. is part of the gameplay. Maybe instead of charging off to wipe people out, you should make alliances, organise with people to have friendly fights at designated places and times. That way, you won't need to keep sailing off to ignorantly beat someone to death with their own arms.. but that's what you really actually want. This is why people keep coming back to the I win Now button because that is, what you actually want. You just continually refuse to admit to it.

    Yes and this is why many on both sides have asked for 2 different base games. Instead we get the pvp game minus the ability to actually hit people. So a default status is required. I haven't heard any actual reasons why there's a need for a speed increase. You say pvp people want to get from a to b.. well, get organised and sail there. Even if you had faster sailing, it still wouldn't help you. Except maybe in freestyle pvp, which is pretty random. So getting a speed upgrade just to maybe find someone to fight.. not very useful. Otherwise you organise to fight with someone, you organise sailing times, you gather your fleets ahead of time. The speed you can sail at, has absolutely no meaning at all. The subjective complaint in the op has nothing at all to do with pvp or pve environments. You started off by saying you find it boring and slow.. Nothing to do with what kind of server you're on. I think, you're probably wanting a speed increase so you can surprise people and get the first blow in. What you maybe don't realise is that they also will be able to do this to you. Or maybe you want them to do it to you. But remember, in pvp, anything that gives you an advantage, automatically gives you a disadvantage as well. So to look at a speed increase from a pvp point of view: Can get to hostile islands quicker. Can be attacked quicker. Can escape attackers if running a light ship etc. Dep on exp and ship design. Will be unable to log out for irl time due to more attackers/fights/defences That essentially boils it down. For pve - Can get to places quicker Will get bored faster, because you'll complete content quicker. Will level up faster.. Essentially.. more speed = I win button. People don't need more speed, they need more complexity. You need more to actually do, to occupy your time when sailing. But the problem is, the chosen method of sailing is boring.. it is standing at a wheel, staring off into the distance waiting to get from here to there. You want to get there faster.. buy a space game.. or a magic game.. there you'll get technology that allows you to progress faster.. But you'll always hit the same walls. Faster progression = Shortened game time, due to people getting bored of completion. It seems to me that none of you have actually sat down and really thought about what you really actually want. To me, it seems blatently obvious what the failures are for a speed increase. But maybe you're slower on the uptake and it needs to be continually explained to you. Essentially.. slower sailing, is probably the only reason why any of you are still playing atlas. It is that simple. And I'm not being aggressive to you. You're just being defensive against me. This is an issue I've seen many times irl, over the last 40 odd years. Stop blaming people for your own short comings. If someone intimidates you.. that's actually your fault for allowing them to do so. People aren't being toxic etc.. you're being weak minded to their competant and well thought out arguments and can't come up with viable counter arguments so instead you make these weak insults to defend yourself and hide behind. By you, I am not referring to "you" willard specifically, but to everyone who does this. Frankly I am sick to death of hearing people calling me names, because they are too weak to stand up for themselves. Now.. I'd like to hear why those 83% voted for a speed increase.. what do they think they will gain by getting it? What would it give them? And remember, the counters.. if you can get it in pvp.. so can everyone else. incl your enemies.

    Is there any chance we can get a dinghy for moving cargo? Right now, the only way to move stuff from land bases to sea and vice versa is to carry it by hand, a trip at a time. This motivates people to park their giant ship as close as humanly possible to land, weaving through the million shipyards to try and not have a 3 minute swim to your boat (dodging sharks the whole time). Could we get a cargo moving dinghy-style ship that we can load up with a reasonable amount of cargo, move to our ship, and then retract into the dinghy launch? That would allow us to bulk move stuff on or off the ship and park further out.

    i only tryed it with a brig with 2 racks and taking into consideration what i was carrying i think the amount iwas slowed was fair... u shouldnt be able to transport tons of stuff with no downside.... if ur afraid of getting caught slap some cannons on it or get another to escort u... also the wheight sails been buffed.. try to replace 3 speedsails with wheightsails they help ur speedsails by being less affected by wheight…. also other threads under the genral forum says that 6 cargo racks is overkill for a gally… 3-4 for gally 1-2 for a brig and 1 for a schooner

    Lets face it, Galleons and Brigantines are huge, and we like building our fancy piers and docks and parking our ships next to them. Unfortunately, with many islands, the land drops off super deep super fast. So, I got to thinking, why not add a mooring system using the same key that activates anchoring, inspired by another lesser known function, the map key. Did you know, when you double-tap M, it brings up only the compass, and when you press and hold M, it brings up only the map? This function tells me that it's possible to use a single key for multiple functions based on how it is used. This said... The mooring system would involve two craftable parts: A ship-mounted mooring rope (similar to how dinghy and diving apparatus is mounted) and a building-mounted set of mooring posts. You place these mounting posts on your pier, similar to how a wall will snap, and then build the mooring rope on the side of a ship. When your ships mooring rope is near a mooring post, you'll see an icon on the right, similar to how the anchor icon pops up. When it's lit, press and hold X (the anchor key), and the ship will begin a 10-15 second mooring animation while the mooring rope is tossed several times over the mooring posts, slowly tightening until the mooring process is complete, and freezing the ship into place as if it had anchored next to the pier. This process would allow ships to moor to a pier when the water is too deep for anchoring, and can help easily organize the space in a company's large pier by using the docking space efficiently.

    I was going to post this too. We are not taming freaking Brontos from ARK. The 8 wide, 12 high large gates are STUPID to have just because an elephant or a rhino are too wide to fit through the 2 wide, 4 high normal gate. Give us at least a damn middle ground. The TALLEST/WIDEST Creatures that are tamable (giraffe/razertooth) are just SIX WALLS TALL and fit through a THREE WIDE GAP. So all we need is a 3x6 gate! It's just so stupid that we need this HUGE FREAKING MONSTER of a gate just to fit through a rhino that is small enough height wise to fit through the normal gate, but is just a nudge to wide at the hips to fit the 2 foundation wide gap.
