  1. a few friends and I Can join but it's cause we have the IP. We use to be able to see our server by searching for the name. It would take about 60 seconds to a minute even though the ping was at 30 to 50ish. Now we don't see our servers name at all. I am going to contact Nitrado too to see if it's on their end but wanted to bring this up here as well cause it could be Atlas too. Server Name - The Kingsmen ATLAS[Heavy-RP]
  2. It’s not just accessible crafting stations. You can overload your character to infinity by having a buddy drop heavy items that you can then pickup with no limits. You can then kill yourself and just carry your dead and massively overweight corpse around to sink anything instantly (including up ladders). Possible that one person could do this with a bit of effort. But It’s trivial for two people to team up and use this tactic.

Logged in this morning to find our boat sunk beneath us, it had recently happened as I saw the name on the back of the ship sink before my eyes as the crew and animals aboard floated to their doom. In the log it just says that it was destroyed. We were 4 players sleeping aboard as well as a full crew (around 18 capacity). W'eve had this ship for a while now, although a heavy portion of the NPC crew we acquired the day we logged off. We were not docked in particularly shallow water so no collisions from the environment, however could it be that a player or NPC/player has caused a collision upon my login and to deal with the collision the game destroys the ship. I know this is a long shot as collision with players doesn't affect land structures, but essentially there are 3-5 things that can cause the collision with the ship, Tames, NPC Crew, Player Crew, Ocean and the ship itself. I've noticed often when logging off on the ship my body eventually slides off so I am not static on the ship when I am sleeping there.
  4. Why even have it that a ship sinks when overweight? It already can't move when heavy. Partial fix suggestion, anchored ships do not take damage from being overweight. Additionally one of the players using this exploit was called Micro Boy
  5. Welp, I was respawning on my company's boat to aid them in a battle. Great, right? Except I fell through the floor and got stuck inside the boat. No option exists for me to get out, I've wasted enough time trying to know. There is no suicide option, so I can't respawn in the ship bed. So now I get to alt-tab and just wait for my character to die. Meanwhile, my weight still adds to the boats, and I take up a crew capacity. Battles rage on above my head, but here I sit, helpless. Maybe I can poo myself eventually, but the insta-death from eating poop is not yet in the game. Also, I have a heavy fortitude spec so my death takes that much longer to occur naturally. Well, I'm off to take a nap. Maybe I can play by the time I get back. Grapeshot- please add a suicide option! Thanks.
  6. Well lemme tell you what happened to our alliance yesterday at EU PVP. We had 2 brigs,4 schooners and 2 sloops and we went to bomb chinese mortar at O grid. So we destroyed their mortar cannon and proceeded to bomb foundations, suddenly 2 chinese appeared who swam under our ships and shooting fire arrows underwater, YES underwater. We lost 2 sloops to fire arrows and 1 brig took heavy damage. They just abuse whenever they can. They arent good since i killed them 3 times myself when they came at us with pistols.
  7. So I have heard this while traveling to watch out for griefers looking to overload ships with weight to purposely sink them. It has happened to many people. It has been witnessed by others apparently. They will load themselves up with heavy items before boarding. This is rumour to me, as I have not seen it myself but we have had ships randomly sink in our dock but no reason listed. I'm assuming unrelated- HOPING unrelated. It would be nice to have more details in Company Governance but that's another story.
  8. The idea behind some of the blueprint mechanics are cool but overall yeah it does suck just like not being able to ride company tames right? The skill system is mediocre at best, in a game where you need to be able to craft many items without any real means of an auction house or trading system is silly. Maybe they have a bigger idea down the road for the skill system or trading (I saw Jesse or someone who seemed like a dev talk about the game being heavy trading/merchant ships/trade routes etc). As far as needing the skill, that's just silly and bad but I get their trying to force reliance on other players (works if the game continues to have a big population). The multiple items needed is to encourage people to explore and trade, it's actually pretty neat but can be a inconvenience though. I like it though, it makes biomes important and forcing you to leave your single server. So, yes you could double layer your wall and be a hermit. Other people will establish trades with passing companies and double layer their walls with even stronger walls. This is just how I think they want the game to work with it's current mechanics.
  9. Caught these two in the act of overloading my raft together they where heavy enough and my locked boxes where empty. They should be BANNED for this kind of griefing on the EU Servers (Grid G2 The Sirens's Call)
  10. had same issue with a ship in deep water also experienced; aimbotting as soon as I ran a corner of my base after bed hopping instantly targeted by a cannon or sniped as soon as my head comes over cover from far beyond normal view distance during fog and instant head shot and kill with heavy helm.
  11. Simple. Stop including the animals, and non-crewmembers as crewmembers. Anyone who is not in your company, or an NPC crewman, should not count as a crewman. Animals you are transporting, should not count as crew...only count against the weight. People not in your company, should not count against the weight of the ship, and this can also be griefed, as they can load up heavy, and if they have enough do this, make your ship overweight. In PvE, doing that could be made to damage the offending player very quickly. Players, and especially Meta players, will do what the game allows, and or, rewards.
  12. science would have available back then for distilling clean water, i'd imagine it'd have to be very heavy to avoid it being on ships, additionally it'd have to use a lot of metal to craft. I can see this being a mod on unofficial.
  13. 1x was better than now, except for the fiber and few other plants, considering some things need more fiber than damn wood, will take 2x as long as they don't adjust prices or they won't revert back to 1x but keep the fiber at the current gathering rate. However hate the fact that ships gonna be easier to get, not only that, ships aparenly gonna be up to 50% chepaer now or something after monday? which is a total joke. Insteed of makin rates higher up and ships cheaper, make them even more expensive but make that so they don't die from 10 cannon balls, medium wooden planks have 2x less health than a raft, that's like 4-5 shoots to make a hole. There won't be any epic battles between 2 ships if one gonna sink another in 1-2 salvos, the best battle is when both sides are exhausted from battle and there was a struggle, not when either side got steamrolled. There's also tha thing about trolls who sink ships with too much crew and overweight, they could just remove the crew limit and just stay with weight, each person would weight like 60-70kg, solved, and then make so weight doesn't sink ships, it just make them stop still bcs too heavy. Btw, being a pve player and also solo and somehow don't need 2x rates on everything and would want some acomplishment from finishing that schooner that planing to sail and also would wish it was not a squishy oversized raft but to be able to tank few cannon shots.
  14. Solo sailing when you singleplayer sail a ship. No need of anyone. All NPC crew and that it. No survival. No need to eat. No need to drink. No need for healers.just día and respawn as you please. No penalty on it, it rewards you reseting your stats. No need to hard work to get anything. No need to explore for richier resourse islands. No need for trade. No need for any other person. (Multiplayer crew a ship is dumb. Better soloplayer each ship and go heavy armada) Bases? Just spawn gigants Doors that are almos free. No need to learn to sail, yo can go 100% against wind... Everything above is ok. In a singleplayer game with cheats, mods on. Make. Srv for that. But give us the survivalcraft CooP MMO that was sold to us.
  15. They do need to fix that dragging a body adds their weight to yours. if it's too heavy, you can't drag it. But i'mfairly sure this will never happen. It's been a thing in Ark for years, with the same complaints and problems, and they never fixed it. So won't happen for Atlas either.
  16. You need ORP. We aren't even on the high population official servers. We are on unofficial, but our most recent experience shows how flawed the game design is. Let's not get into how the warped animal system drastically slows down resource gathering. Despite that, we eventually got a Brigantine built for our ten man Company. We set sail, and hit a couple of treasure spots, and sank a level 5 SotD. As we were arriving back at our island, we learned that one of our allies was just attacked, and their sloop sank by a schooner. We engaged the schooner, and damaged it, but we were heavy, and a storm popped up at that moment, allowing them to escape. Was a fun experience. So then as we started to park the ship, the AI attacked a raft that was near where we made our port. It was no match for a 6 gun broadside. The leader whistled the AI to passive, from neutral. We still aren't sure why they attacked the raft while on neutral. Anyway, we apologized to the Company, and would have replaced the raft, but they said it was cool. So, the very next day, as most of the ten were taking a break, 2 of us were online, at our base further inland, doing some gathering. We see a death message. We didn't recognize the name, but it was one of the NPC crew on the ship. We had set them back to neutral to defend the ship. A few were set to do repairs. Anyway, as we are trying to figure out if this was a new recruit we did not know, we see more red flash on the screen. Our ship has been sunk. We go down there, spawning into beds nearby with no armor or weapons, and find the guy responsible...he's on a bear. The issue here isn't that he was on land, or at sea...it's that he was able to sink a Brigantine by himself, somehow. Without people to play 24/7, this game has no adequate ability to defend your stuff. Not that ARK had adequate defenses either. It was a simple easy process to take down an undefended base. This is completely unacceptable. People did not come here to play ARK with Pirates. We don't want to sink ships at anchor, or have our sank in this manner. We want to fight on the high seas. The fight against the schooner was fun. But, unfortunately, this game just doesn't offer enough of that kind of fun. How about adding NPC cargo ships for people to go pirate, so they have something to do besides sink other player's undefended ships.

  18. I have had the wind die... and it sucks... I was halfway to where I was going and the wind died... luckily there wasn't a SoD nearby. So I did some deep sea fishing with my spear. I can only imagine how bad it would have been had I been in the middle of evading something. I think an easy suggestion would be a latter end game addition to a ship.. the Steam Engine, like the paddle boat merchant ships that are out there. Have it run on wood like a forge, make it HEAVY but let it go so you can ignore the wind and go at a steady speed... the faster you go the more wood you will consume.
  19. Not every MMO. I like more the aproach of heavy coop demand. Love that in Life is Feudal. Maybe a diferent srv for solo player?
  20. You can have offline protection. Hire NPC crew... place them on guns, Puckle guns, Cannons, heavy cannons, and such. Set them to shoot anything hostile or not in your company. And give them plenty of food and ammo... and you will not have a problem. Second you can tame a bunch of aggressive animals, lions, tigers, wolves work fine. Set them to aggressive and put them behind your walls. They will attack anything that makes it through. Lastly, make friends in other timezones. So you have 24 hour coverage.
  21. Hello world, We have found an Isle, where we have seen many creatures of level 60 - 140+ and after a lot of preperation we have found some troubles. We cant tame anything: - the elephants, lions and tigers do say "too heavy to entrap" - the apes and chickens aren't passive tameable - at least the wolfes are able to entrap, but we can't feed them, even if we stand close too the teeth So the question behind this is, what's going wrong? Has someone had this problem? Is there something to change in the server files to resolve this problem? muchas gracias!
  22. Three ways I know of... loading up a body with all the weight you can get on it and pick it up. You can get thousands of pounds on a body and still pick it up. Large companies use body bags for farming and I've personally seen well over 50k on a single body.... Anyways, you just put the body on the boat. The second way is have a friend keep running you stone while you stand on the boat. Third is load up a smithy with stone or other heavy material until it sinks Before you pretend to know what you're talking about, actually try figuring out WTF you're talking about or STFU...
  23. 1. It is Early Access. Most of what you mentioned are balance issues, which will likely continue to be tweaked. 2. "Fanboys" is such a nonsensical term. "Haha, you enjoy the game you pay for, therefore you suck!" Isn't the point of purchasing a game to enjoy it? So why mock those who do? This I agree with. It looks rough and lacks polish. But it's also not uncommon for early access games to have their skill trees polished as it progresses. Why polish it up and make it pretty and shiny, if there's a chance it's going to all get juggled around? Yep, agreed. Also lacking the polish mentioned above, and will hopefully appear in time. Yep! It's super fast, and the amount needed to eat is also super high. Also likely a balance issue. Sounds like it needs balancing. There are quite a few posts about people and their rafts, and how they overload them with super heavy things (like metals.. or gems) and then complain when they are too slow. All in all, you have some valid points, but (and not to rub salt in a wound) but it is early access. This is precisely the type of stuff that gets tweaked as a game progresses through development. As mentioned by countless others in countless other posts, we're only a couple weeks into an estimated 2 year development cycle. There's no harm in walking away for the time being, letting it bake a little longer, and coming back to try it again. I think the majority of the players still playing all agree there's a fun game underneath all the bugs and weird stuff.
  24. Picture this: Sail out on a raft and get close to the SOTD, then jump off the raft and start hitting it with your weapon. It kills you, you respawn on your bed on your raft nearby, swim out, grab your weapon from your corpse, and repeat. Over and over. Obviously it was being exploited, so now the SOTD attack rafts Even in a sloop you can get pretty close without them aggro'ing you, I'd imagine a raft allows you to get even closer. And for the guy who was loading his raft up with metal and complaining he couldn't evade them... the other guy was right, you need to learn from your mistakes. Otherwise you're just going to keep repeating the same mistakes and getting more frustrated. A raft isn't a cargo ship, it's not meant for transporting large amounts of anything that you clearly know is very heavy. Edit: I completely forgot to include my actual point/suggestion! Raise your sails and slow your speed as you cross the server line. Once you're over and give a minute or so for things to spawn, then increase your speed again. I learned this lesson the hard way... many times! haha. Otherwise you zoom right into them before they even load, and you're ship is sinking before you know what hit you...
  25. A large, shallow Barge with a ramp that can be slid in and out for Carrying large Animals and or hauling large heavy loads. Make it with hp and weight, that moves very slowly, no cannon or any large gun options. Smart play would be to have escort ships while you are moving one form point A to point B. How viable this is, don't know but, seems like it would fit to have your merchant ships out in the water.
