  1. We have always gotten 15 minutes warning on a maint on the server, didn't matter if you had baby's due ( which I did and lost two different times due to not having a certain time, don't get those sorts of goodies. Here it is almost the day is over and still no fix, this is totally ridiculous.

Oh yeah I have noticed the inconsistency for sure along the coast, thanks for the advice though, I think in the future since I don't understand the tech part I will just throw up something simple like thatch to see if they will breed, not a lot of mats nor time I just thought it so odd though how it happens and all around me ladys were having baby bears left and right.
  3. Devs please read my words. I have played games only since 2014 as a pve player. I think PVE gets lost in the definition of exactly what it is and, why I was drawn to it myself so please read what I have to say before you make any big moves again and to consider pve players more seriously. Veterans People with disabilities Older generation People with agoraphobia Introverts People wanting to escape the crap of the world today. There are more I am sure that I have not thought of. Veterans have fought their wars, they only want to go on a game in pve mode so they themselves can not only control their situations and not have to fight which would most likely trigger a lot of players. Many of the Vets I have seen posting in the blogs and on the game have left due to them thinking it was going to go to pve/pvp and global server. PVE offers them the choice to put themselves in a controlled situation. People with disabilities now have a way to get up, move about like they can't in real life, they can jump, run all of the things that they can no longer do in real life and if it isn't stressful enough in real life, making them play pvp ( if that is your intentions ) in order to play this awesome game would be, well it just wouldn't be right. Agoraphobia, there are more people out there with this disorder than one actually realizes, they have anxiety about their environment, if it is not a controlled environment then all h#ll breaks loose for them in real life. With the pve aspect of a game it gives them more control of their surroundings. Introverts, shy people that would not really have anything to do with other people due to the severity OF that shyness, in pve they can actively participate in conversations and of course, control their environment, this gives them some sort of platform to build better skills and confidence to actually talking and interacting with people. People wanting to escape the crap of the world today. I am one of them, if I don't get on a pve game I am in F# jail on a constant basis fighting politics, on games like Atlas it keeps me out of F# jail lol. I absolutely hate how our nation is acting and so Atlas gives me a MUCH needed reprieve from the real world one where I myself have control over my actions and not have to worry about the actions of others. There are a lot more out there like me in this aspect than what you think. Last and I feel weird offering this up but, Atlas brought me back from a stroke, I had a mild stroke, didn't know how to use the asdw I could barely decipher left from right and it took real hard thinking to get that straight, after six days of playing Atlas I finally was capable to sail one of my ships, scary as h#ll but, the game itself helped me to get back my functions I am convinced and of course, those gorgeous baby bears!! OMG I lOVE those bears!!! In short ( finally ) PVE is a lot more than what you guys realize, meet us, your pve players Now please, put us back on NA servers, global servers are not only horrible on the lag and rubberbanding they have a high account of mean, snobbish people ( and jerks scared to play pvp so they do it on pve ) whereas you just don't get many on the NA server, that plays an important part of the pve community and why people ARE pve players. Thanks, sorry for the long winded explanations.

  6. I have a cow and a bull that I have bred a few times trying to (unsuccessfully) get a cow instead of a bull. Is there a trick to it? TBH, I don't remember ever getting a baby cow before, but maybe I wasn't paying attention. Any tips for me?

Everyone's just mad because now they have to fight to get somewhere since all company's lost everything they had and all They're power in the wipe and now they have to fight to get it all back and fight They're way to the top again and they are lazy and dont want to do that so they are complaining about the update guess they never ben told cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen dont worry dev's good job some people just have a case of big baby syndrome they were never kicked from the bottle
  8. What would need you to work in shifts? Gestation is 4 hours. Once the baby is born you fill it with food and just keep topping it up for the first half an hour or so, this should then give you at least an hour away from your comp by then. Come back after an hour and fill it with 5 stacks and that should be enough. Once it reaches 10% it becomes juvi and feeds from a trough. As long as you have plenty of them stocked up you could walk away and come back 2 days later to a fully grown bear. The only time you would need to come back is to imprint and that is every 8 hours. So if you time it right you can do one late at night and one early morning, set an alarm Bottom line, you only really need to be with them for the 1st half an hour or so of their lives. They are very easy to breed.

  11. I understand the sign post I saw the other day now. Was walking past a new base the other day with a sign out front which said "disgruntled NA PVE Players" now I get it... By forcing all PVE players onto one server do you think there is going to be anywhere to build when everyone floods the grids... NO! Imagine the lag this is going to cause. If the post reads how it sounds like focusing on PVP and something more for PVE is this a response to Sea of Thieves which you've probably lost a lot of players to reading their steam reviews. I've played each phase of this game since launch, i'm not starting from scratch again. All the time spent breeding and getting my bears stats up, wasted again... Why do you need to wipe maps? Why cant you add servers and create a new map on them like your little ARK baby. The Island, The Center, Scorched Earth etc and you can travel between them. You've already got the Mayan / Aztec aesthetic in Atlas, you could utilize that as some sort of long lost Mayan Power which you can use to travel between them, our version of Tek which you have to unlock through end game content. Previous experience says this is going to go like it has the past 3 times, give us a little taste, reap whatever profits and pump it into the next exp of Ark. People remember.

    I so totally agree with you, a lot of my friends have been saying the very same thing that you are saying, this game I bought for the PVE aspect as well as the sailing aspect I do not DO pvp so if the devs are going to baby the pvp'ers and ignore the pve'ers then I would like a refund please because I am one of the many that you just wiped without warning and told that I have now got to go to an EU server as there are no more NA servers, what is that? A lot of people, including myself, feel cheated devs and I am one that not only raves good about Atlas game but encourages others to buy it but now I am not so sure, this is just sad and mean. Love the idea of a new map but not an EU server. As a pve player I feel left out in the cold by you guys and, I am not alone.
  13. As we all know Colonies solved none of the problems that Empires had, save for offline raiding. On PvE servers it serves little purpose but to advertise your island on the map. I feel like it has it's place but it could be SO MUCH MORE. With all this talk of Factions I have my own extensive ATLAS OVERHAUL that should see surges of returning players. Functionally, these are minor changes... just to get it out the door and working. To tie it all together, though, it's a big undertaking. I haven't seen other threads tackle this kind of system yet, so I am going to bring my own ideas to the table. I am not going to be touching on QOL issues in this thread, that's for another day. Sorry. 1: The Nations System Overview Currently, the colonies system works by allowing players to join a company, and then an alliance of companies. This would not change. Companies and Alliances will still be critical to the game. Emergent Player to Player scenarios drive sandbox games like Ark, Rust, and EvE Online. The current claim system does little to provide the player with a "bucket and pail" to tackle the sandbox with. Currently without any tools or encouragement there is no reason for cooperation; therefor, the fun of the current sandbox is had by shoving handfuls into someone's shorts and eyes. Ergo, Mega clans, griefing, raiding bambis, and tears.... lots of tears. Due to it's limited nature the current system is pretty punishing for players. Another issue I find is that: everyone I know hates playing in a mega or simply not playing for themselves. I am the same way. While, I enjoyed my time with the likes of GypSEAS, Uganda, No No No, and TC I can not say it was ideal. I never felt like I was actually having fun. It felt more like a social obligation; one which only was needed to protect my meager stash of tames and a ship. The social aspect is and was a huge draw; and part of the reason I stuck around. However, once I got a taste of playing for myself on Private Servers/PvE/SP it changed my views quickly... it was FUN. Exactly the same gameplay... minus just about all of the problems. Players have made the system punishing. The issue is that players and even the devs carry the same ideals and gameplay philosophy that works for Rust, Minecraft, or Ark but does NOT work for something like Atlas. Atlas, has more in common with EvE Online than any other game, and thus; it should do as much as it can to try to emulate it. Therefor, the claim and PvP system should function in a similar way. Colonies already does this for claims (vulnerability window + wardec), which is great for large alliances; it is not great however, for solos or part time players. It drives player interaction toward raiding... and just raiding. No trade, no intrigue, just raids. I think a good way to reconcile this is to allow hardcore PvP, PvE and casual PvPers to exist on the same server. Alright, here we go: Players will be able to chose between four main Nations, all four of which are split into alliances. Players may also chose to not affiliate with a single nation or faction They may even chose to remain hostile to all four if they like. Each alliance decision has different drawbacks or benefits. Each nation and faction has it's own ideology, special blueprints, cosmetics, and benefits. The Nations are as follows: Eastern Empire Western Kingdom Norse Republic Southern Syndicates Pirate Cartels Eastern and Southern Empires form the "Golden Empires Collation" Faction. Norse Republic and Western Kingdoms form the "Western Trade Companies" Faction. Pirates will ignore and defend players who prove bloodthirsty enough, but this comes at the cost of Navy attention. The presence of the Nations has lead to different levels of "security" in the waters. National/Empire Waters: PvE except for players enrolled in Faction Warfare, pirates, or those under a PvP war declaration. (More below) Lawless Waters: Basically nothing changes. Outside of player alliances: anyone can attack you, you can attack anyone. Resources are the most abundant, wild animals spawn at higher levels and are difficult to tame, sometimes lesser mythic mobs (gorgons and yetis) spawn here. These areas surround Powerstones, rather than Freeports. International Waters: This is the same as standard zones under the current system. Semi-open PvP, any player can claim, decent resources, better wilds, less dangerous islands. Homestead Waters: These are regions hosted on the player's personal computer. Only they and people invited can access this area. (More below) Sovereign Waters: An extended version of island claims, this sets an entire grid to PvE and taxes all islands to a central bank. Once waters become Sovereign the company or alliance who owns the water can not be removed. (More below) Powerstone Waters: Only slight changes here. Convert zones to PvE and allow temporary builds. Allow taming of all non-mythic powerstone spawns if the player has the powerstone for said island. 2: Waters Explained. National/Empire Waters: These areas are owned by the corresponding nation, and take the current place of Freeports and Lawless islands surrounding them. Players are completely safe from PvP when in these zones unless they are at war with each-other or in faction warfare. Waters are patrolled by NPC pirates who attack ships and players on islands. Occasionally spawns WPE's. Faction Warfare most often happens in these areas. Players with sufficient reputation with either/both the Nation and the Faction Navy may claim certain islands. Faction Navy members get access to larger, better, yet cheaper islands that give more resources once claimed. (Areas owned by Pirate Factions also function in a similar way but are hostile to "good" players. ) Players who's companies are at war are able to attack each-other in these zones. Limited verity of resources spawn in these areas. Travel to other areas required to make anything better than FINE bps, thus encouraging trade, travel, and piracy. Homestead Waters: Meant as a starting point and offline storage area, Homestead Waters host a single grid containing an island with a pre-built small shipyard, low quality map spawns, and crew recruiter. Homesteads provide every Freeport resource. Homesteads do not spawn useful creatures, but do however allow the player to breed any creatures regardless of conditions at a cost to the baby's wild level. Players may store up to TWO personally owned ships. Nothing stored at a Homestead decays and remains in stasis unless the player is present. All NPCs and Tames brought here are fed/paid at no cost to the player. Companies can not store company owned ships at a Homestead. As was mentioned before, this is just a place to start and tuck things away when you go offline for a long time; or a place for absolute casuals. Homesteads provide NO experience. Players are also granted access to a "lumber mill" which provides unlimited wood building pieces, and deployables only placeable on the homestead (not boats). Players must have unlocked desired deployables. Sovereign Waters: As mentioned before, a sufficiently advanced Company or Alliance can purchase a token from a friendly faction or nation to convert an area into a PvE area that can only be attacked under a war declaration or by an opposing navy. These areas can still be raided, however, the residing company/alliance can not be removed, nor do damaged structures remain damaged (boats and tames however do not regenerate) anything popcorned/left in bags is deposited into the claim flag. By default, only allied companies can build in these areas. Companies may have ONE sovereign grid. Declaring a zone Sovereign spawns uncontrollable NPC ships belonging to the player's company and allied navy. Players can be attacked in open water in these zones. The residing company must remain at a certain level of activity, pay gold upkeep, have settlers, and appease its allied Nation/Faction to maintain control of an area. Piracy: Areas claimed by pirate players spawn extra resources but are in PvP mode longer than normal grids/islands. They also attract a larger and more powerful than average Navy presence to the area. 3: Better NPCs "Drone Better. People make problem. Trust me... drone better." - Ivan Vanko This is going to be a quick one. NPCs don't do enough. NPCs should repair ships when at sea, be able to help farm, watch animals, etc. Make special vendors or quests to acquire specialty NPCs/crew. Allow players to place their own crew recruiter/NPC quest giver. As was mentioned earlier, more NPC factions are needed. Less reliance on mega groups to enjoy the game to the fullest. Having the ability to assign an NPC to a ship and it automatically patrol/escort the player would also be spectacular. NPCs need to preform anything players can do; busy work wise (raising tames, resource gathering, etc) Solo players should not need other players. Instead, players should always be better at what NPCs can do; rather than being a requirement. 4: The Content is the Reward. I've noticed that playing this game without PvP changes it's nature. In a PvP setting, PvP is the reward for 'content'. Doing a games content for a reward is a poor way to play a game, and a big reason this game ( and WoW) is doing so poorly. Playing the game should itself, be a reward; and it is only that way for PvE /local/Single Players right now. Rewards should be things that make content more fun; tames and buffs are on the right track for that. As you may have gleamed by now, under this system player actions result in the ability to do the same content faster, better, and in more fun ways. 5: Naval Battle + Ships. Deplanking in its current form looks bad and feels bad. Planks shouldn't disappear. Instead, they should form holes and catch fire/splinter depending on the damage taken. But, never be "lost" instead, they are repaired as needed. When "deplanked" they begin to leak as they would now. The option to surrender and turn over the ship/portion of resources to encourage piracy would be a boon. As an anti-griefing and a "fun insurance" measure ships sunk should have the option to re-surface them. For anchored ships, this is just a resource fee. For ships lost at sea, it should require the Submarine and a special token/feat. 6: Faction Rewards What would alliance be without benefit? As was mentioned before working for a faction/nation rewards you with reputation (or negative rep) used to unlock BPs, powerful ships, tames, NPCs, land rights, and cosmetics. Conclusion: I do hope you can see how all of this plays together to encourage ALL types of players. No one is left out under this system. Small groups, solos, and mega groups are each rewarded in their own way. Every form of player interaction is encouraged, and maximizes fun. Even with our current player-base this system would still benefit the players. I hope that even if this system is not utilized that the devs consider some aspects of it. I know if I were developing this game, this is the system the game would have come out with.

  15. I have a few bugs I would like to address first starting with ship issues. The first issue is that takes will slide through the ships during loading sequences. Most the time they lag back on the ship but in a few instances the will lag into the ocean never to be seen again. Another Lag issue with ships is occasionally the ship will render beneath the surface of the water. This brings the ships closer to the sand bars( which in my opinion should only beach a ship wink wink) causing increases likelihood of a lost ship when near a sand bar. All the ship issues generally occur when entering a new region and I am a Xbox user. The second issue is bows as the hit box on a bow is similar to the mana's ice breathe in ark where as the target is only taking damage when aiming at his anus. The Hit box does not appear 75 percent of the time for head shots or body shots even though the arrow is obviously stuck into them. Guns do not possess this issue so you may look into firearm ammunition coding as a possibility to a solution. The last issue refer to takes and lag issues. On console I have noticed the big lags of bases are due to the system trying to liad bases as a whole instead of render in piece by piece. An option to add structure render rate may debunk most lag problems as the coded seems more efficient than ark. Also when crashing if the characters can just go unconscious that would save tame lives while swimming as normally a tame float in the water but if your on it, well it sinks and drowns before you get back on. The last issue involves the age old babies ignore their inventory when all players in tribe or offline or out of render range leaving a baby to starve with a full inventory. These are the only issues i have found so far. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
  16. Nah man it wont take 30hours. Once pregnant you come back in 4 hours for the birth then... For bears its about 2 hours till you can get the 4 stacks, then its just like 2 min ever 8 hours. Tigers will take a little longer, thinks its like 6 hours? To get the tigers to 10%. After 10% the babies will eat from feeding troughs and are immune to the heat/cold, so you just come back for imprints. WRT levels, stats for the baby are based on the base stats when tamed (31,32,34) not thier current level (63, 68, 69).
  17. Temperate is good for bears, usually never have to worry about temp. Use any veggie for food as it gives the most food and lasts the longest. I would stuff mine till 4 stacks of celery then just leave em be, that will be enough to 10%. (At 10% they eat from feeding troughs). IIRC 1 stack lasts about 45 min, so you are able to wander off and do some other stuff. Most of the time youll get 1 cub. But you can get triplets and twins too. (IIRC id get maybe 4 sets of twins with 50 bears poping per run, but rng is rng) Dont feel bad if your 1st ones go, youll quickly get to the point of letting half or more of a liter die bc of crap stats. (At my "prime" Id pop 50-75 bears and keep 3 or 4 on a good day) Tigers our company was breeding in tropics but I think you had to heat em at night. There might be better biome but honestly not sure. Just have lots of meat ready, you will have to baby sit these guys. Dont forget to restack meat in troughs every so often as itll let stacks last a little longer than having em spread out. (Ie 25 stacks will rot 25 meat per decay, but if you can restack em to 13, only 13 stacks are exposed, so you lose 13 meat per decay instead of 25)

  21. Hey guys! Ok so ive done my research, and ive added in the ramp overrides past lv 225 for my difficulty 4 server. But yet we just tamed a 116 bear and it came out to 173 and it cannot gain any experience. We then bred a baby from it and it came out at 156 and it also cannot level. Any thoughts?
  22. It's sad to say, but yes. I'm also, frankly, tired of defending the game... and playing the game. In all reality, ARK is just better and I'd really rather they just focus on making that.... better. And yeah, I will be playing New World. I suspect many of us will. Honestly, it's looking like Amazon (as weird as that feels to say) will be delivering a very good product. This year is looking at some possibly really fantastic titles in general. And I want to play them. Atlas seems to me to be designed in a way that prevents gamers from... gaming. You basically sell your soul to this one game if you want to get enjoyment out of it. And that'd just not something I want. I don't want to HAVE to log into a game every day. I didn't HAVE to do that shit in WoW, ESO, Everquest, Guild Wars, Asheron's Call, Horizons, Ryzom (being ones I remember off the top of my head)... the only other MMO I can think of that had that be a thing was Ultima Online... and... just sayin'... That's been a while... and even then wasn't exactly a requirement. And please don't get me started on waking up in the middle of the night to imprint or feed a fucking baby animal. That's really just an absurd thing to ask of anyone. It's rarely a thing even real-life breeders need to do (as someone who has, I've literally never had to do this). ARK does suffer some of the same problems, but they took those and made them worse here. But the benefit of ARK is that it is actually entirely playable as a singleplayer game. On your own time at your own pace. You can enjoy ARK and you can enjoy any other title at the same time. With the total lack of dev communication within the past 6-8 months, I don't see much reason to even bother. These guys had a vision, I think, but totally lack the experience to see it through. It's... almost like they have literally never played any MMOs in the past and have no idea what works and what doesn't. At this point, I'm here maybe once a month to check in and see if anything is happening. Some kind of lasting hope, I suppose. It's not. My time is better spent elsewhere. And playing other things.
  23. the bonus over Valentines day was great! our company was actually able to start breeding as you could raise a baby in one play period. When do you guys think we will get another one? breeding animals to make good bloodlines is a really cool thing in this game but it is just not doable if you have a life a and a 9-5 . do these bonuses ever just happen on random weekends?
  24. What about the talk* I hear of them combining Ark and Atlas and calling it Arkelass? From what I have read, I gather that the dinosaurs age and grow old unless you put sails on them and sail your Dinoboat to the Golden Age Of Tek. When you get there, cram them into a tiny hole where they become baby dinosaurs that die if it gets too hot. Don’t forget to get your discovery-note explorers-points along the way! *fake
  25. let us take breeding a bear for example. you get 2 bears to mate then wait 4 hours. then when the baby is born you have 4 hours to get to 10% where that bear can feed from the trough. that is an 8 hour playtime. I know you don't need to babysit that bear for the whole time but it's not very realistic.
