    This review is on Steam. Is it true? "Whoever gives this game a 'thumbs up' is lying to you. - probably written by staff members and their family of the game developer and publisher. The game is 100% completely unplayable because there is no land to build on. ALL of the land is completely taken by other players. It literally WILL NOT allow you to build anything, nothing. WARNING - you will be wasting your money if you buy this game - there is NO land to build on, and I explored almost every island in the game - look at my hours played - all of that was exploring the seas on a raft only to discover that there's zero land to build on - super boring. Also, if you're lucky enough to find a small patch of land or able to steal a piece of land from someone then trust me when I tell you that someone 60 levels higher than you will take your land away from you within minutes or a few hours - a complete waste of time - find a better game to play."

    Hi..... Thursday I started my journey to get Wheat seeds and Turnip seeds, I sailed around 3 hours until I reached the first location to get some Wheatseeds and another 1 hour to get Turnipseeds. Additionally it took some more hours on each zone to actually even find the Flowers since they seem to not just grow everywhere and only on 1-2 spots on each island. Well but thats not the Issue, Im extremly dissapointed with this game like I never have been with any Game before and I played 3k + hours of Ark and many other survival games. So I just spend 2 evenings to get the seeds and I also tamed a monkey and even if the hours of just straight sailing across the sea haven't bothered me much. But something happend after I have spend around 10 hours of my life to get the seeds and I would need to spend a hole day again to finally bring the seeds back to our Base since I have to do it all over again. I just did the big mistake of changing servers..... I just sailed to the next region, I could not see anything and I could not prepare myself at all for what happend right after I had the short loading lag. I just reached the next Zone and got destroyed in seconds because I spawned right into 2 Ghostships!!!! I could not see them before! I could not prepare myself or anything, even if! What should I have been done with a Sloop against 2 Ghostships? I tried desperately to sail back to where I came from to avoid getting sunk but nothing helped, I managed to get back but around 4 or 5 ship planks have been destroyed already in matter of seconds and the ship sunk quicker then i had the chance to save it or at least anything on this ship. The situation that Ghostships are right at the borders between 2 Maps just finally killed the fun for me. Its really not because I lost some items or a Ghostship sunk my ship, its because I could not see them before to react properly or do anything to avoid this situation. As long as I dont read something about fixed spawns for Ghostships I will not continue playing your Game. They really should not spawn at the edges of the map..... really its bullshit.

    how about wolves dont need super speed, crazy bite speed, AND a ridiculous knock-back and spawn on the sides of cliffs where your climbing.

    Have you created an accordian but don't have the ability to play it? Check out my Autohotkey song macro tool: http://delayatlas.com/songmaker All you have to do is install Autohotkey, create your song, copy the text to a text editor and save the text with the .ahk extension like "mysong.ahk". Double click the file and press F12 or whatever toggle key you chose, and your character will start playing the song! The toggle key will pause/unpause the script.     When a company loses its Capital Flag, a notice will flash up at the top of EVEYRONE's screen saying "so-and-so lost their capital flag in sector A6, 78 flags lost". This way everyone would know they can run there for some land grab and would create a mini-game within a game as everyone tries to fight for some newly-available land. It would effectively annihilate a large company and truly force them to start over. This is exactly what Atlas needs. A Capital Flag System (PvP) is the perfect solution for countering very large companies and freeing up land. Essentially, every company would have to designate 1 flag as their Capital. If this Capital Flag ever falls into the hands of the enemy the company loses ALL their flags and all their territory instantly becomes neutral free for the taking (the Dynamic Atlas Map would certainly be monitored more frequently for potentially-neutral lands as one would look for previous large clan territory which no longer exist). It could also open the door to allowing a well coordinated large company to take over the world in a relatively short time period thus ending the game to start a new game (servers reset). Atlas would officially feel like a game for once by having an end game and a new-start game. Now, imagine 20 smaller companies (or 3 semi-large companies) in an allied attempt with a coordinated attack on a VERY large company. They succeed at destroying the enemy capital making all of its land instantly neutral, then these 20 smaller companies and whoever else might be around have lots of land to share in a land grab. Now THAT's an exciting game. (Is this the solution to the China problem!?) It will also make Large Company outer-region lands easier to capture since it will be a bit paranoid of losing its capital it will be hesitant and less reactive in defending its distant lesser-important non-capital lands. It'll also open the door to a wide array of strategies and tactics both offensively and defensively, and promotes alliances of smaller companies even more so.

    Regardless of 'how easy they are to kill' or whatever else, the fact is wolves, lions & tigers are frustrating, unfair, and anti-fun. The majority of my time farming or doing anything else is spent killing dozens of wolves, and god forbid more than one shows up at a time. It doesn't actually matter how easy someones experience is, it doesn't matter how easily you kill them with a bow from a cliff on an island without 100s of predator spawns. They spawn too quickly, they move too fast, their damage is way too high (even vs metal armor, you're still dying in 5-6 hits, which with 2 wolves you're pretty much dead or sub 30 hp and dying to un-hittable vultures). How is this considered acceptable design? Where even the wolf shills who deal with a max of 2 at a time give the solution of "just die again but really far away this time". It's not some masterful skill to kill wolves, it's not that players 'just suck and cant kill them'. It's literally that it's not fun to play with. Killing wolves constantly, being knocked around, dying to random spawns overwhelming you just outside your base, is not fun design. Just because dealing with them is possible does not mean they're immune to criticism or well designed. Inb4 "it's early access." Early access means giving feedback, saying something is un-fun or bullshit is feedback.

    @Percieval Telling someone "go play unofficial" is rude at its best". How many unofficial Servers with a 15x15 Grid u know ? Can u give a guarantee that the Server owner doesnt quit in 2 weeks or 4, or 6, so the peoples u advice to go unoffical have to start over again. And if u are not playing official (15x15) how to get all the discoveries to lvl to max ( and there are other Probs that come along with it) ? What u basically saying is: Go play somewhere else and shut up that u cant play the product u paid for. Legit... PS: And no wonder someone is goin on a Vendetta. U always sound like u are the only one who knows everything and ur opinion is more worth then others.

    im going to assume what happen similar to one of my tennats heres the situation. I added an included company id of person to the flag, they then created a company later, thus chanigng id, and it is now set to decay what she had already built. because her id is no longer validly included, which means i need to go change the id so her stuff doesn't decay. so looks like if a landlord kicks osmeone out, they have 7 days to get their stuff

    I would like to see them implement the same kind of thing they did with the shore lines, where SotD will wander away from the map borders and don't spawn close to them. I've had a few situations where I've loaded into a new grid literally inside a SotD, which honestly shouldn't happen so I believe it is a legitimate issue with a relatively simple solution to implement.

    Thats what it means eh??? I really thought it ment something more along the lines of the game at its fundamental levels sucks right now! Because its so blindly focused on 1 and only 1 thing... PvP.... It has Zero content beyond that, no economy to trading, no professions, nothing to make it a credible Sandbox MMORPG!

    Hey Captain Obvious, thanks for making my point, numbnuts. My point was that you can't blame everything on EA. The SotD is lazy programming. Instead of making AI with sailing ships, which would require the Devs to actually code AI....Artificial Intelligence...with actual intelligence, to allows for a nemesis that sails in a manner that makes sense, they took the lazy route and instead made an idiotic enemy that does not use sailing ships, while all the players do. Here's a clue...the majority of people don't like that, and most of the people I know who quit the game, did so because of the Alphas, and the SotD. Not what they want in this game. When people criticize these things, it has nothing to do with EA. You also avoided the other things on the list. People buying this game weren't looking for a knock of Big Game Hunter, but that's what we got. A lot of the criticism of the game is criticism of the choices the Devs have made. That has nothing to do with EA.

    You can use a cow or anything on PvE, as every blueprint/map is .5 weight and characther have nearly unlimited carry capacity (I think ark had 500 slots on anyone). We have betty the map carrying retarded cow.

    Thank you for telling us alphas are back in lawless islands. I was out with my bear and 3 wolves harvesting before the update and surprise!!!!! right after update i got attacked by and alpha rabbit that fucked up my bear, then an Alpha lion that killed all my animals and my and my friend and lost all our shit. You guys are fucking assholes. Like the game needed to be fucking harder. But you'll bend over backwards to help the fucking Chinese PVP bullshit and fuck everyone else right because you already got our money. You suck, your game is ruined, and it will be dead in a matter of months if you keep this bullshit up. We already last 12 people off our crew that quit the game. Why would anyone waste time taming now if a 189 lion walks over and kills everything it took you weeks to do!!!!!! So funny too, we finally got to take out the animals had about 10 min of fun finally on this game without getting murdered and boom lost everything in a second to 1 lion. Go fucking throw yourselves in a lion pit at the zoo and let someone else take over development of this game. You are about to lose 3 more players. Thanks for a wasted month of my time you jerkoffs.

    MMO literally just means thousands playing together and has nothing to do with being a solo game or not. 99% of mmorpgs (or any mmo) do not require groups to progress to midgame or endgame, and most of the ones that did died. You can play solo in EVE even, not saying it's advisable but it's possible. I mean I really have no problem with end game being groups or groups being encouraged, but nowhere have they ever said that even this game will require medium or large groups to play it. IMO solo and small groups could have a place in the games world as renters or people living off their ships pretty easily. Sorry if I come off a bit strong here, been seeing old Ark players misuse the term constantly for weeks insisting soloers and small groups should just leave.

    This is why you region lock China. Their entire culture promotes cheating, hacking and exploiting... there is no positive to having them in ANY server. Give them an Oceania server and lock them away from the rest of the world.

    Thanks for the info! But again, they really need a PR person because words matter. There is a difference between saying griefing is not encouraged and saying griefing will not be tolerated. Saying only not encouraged implies you don't like it, but you'll tolerate it. I don't think that's what he was trying to communicate, but this is what happens when you don't hire professional communicators.

    I think you should allow the sword and flintlock dual wield. It allows for more diverse combat, and why wouldn't it be possible.

    Well yeah, I have no problem with the non-aggro alphas, it's the aggro predator alphas that delight in spawn camping you and tearing down everything you build and killing you repeatedly if you try and stop them that I'll take a rain check on.

    So we are on EU PVE, we tried over and over and over again to see the best in this game but it is not playable at all in this stadium. Few things that we encountert in over 200 hours of gameplay: -Players are toxic as hell (i played Ark on Private servers only so never seen this behavior before) -No Anticheat, No Admins, No Support -Devs are working on something but we will never know what they are actually doing (missing communication) -Claim system is a bad joke (in PVE only) its like give the griefers more to do. I Explain: in this toxic environment how do you think the new system will help? Desperate players or companies will grab the first spot they find to build on claimed land (some will spam everything with foundations). The most "Landlords" will raise the highest possible tax. Most of the "Landlords" will not allow to build on their territory, or will let you build and than exclude you from their list. -Lawless regions are overcrowdet by both, innocent players that want to start and griefers. Most of the islands look like Manhattan (shipyard next to shipyard) -People now start spamming the islands with foundations and nobody cares, even after reporting. -ressources respawn not being patched. -Sotd are now somehow balanced (i know that there was an issue with rapid fire), it is now easy to avoid them or kill them with minimum risk. In the northern grids, somehow nothing changed, we saw about 30 ships in one grid yesterday, most of them over lvl 25. Their loot is a joke, except NPC's. -tamed animals are worth nothing, tamed Bear lvl 23 makes less dmg than a bow on wild animals. -some islands are pure cancer. Saw an island in the desert grids (Lawless) with only predators. Looking at the shore with my 2k resolution monitor i counted: 2 Pigs, 14 Crocs, over 30 vultures, 8 Giant Snakes, 12 Wolfes, 4 Lions, 4 Scorpions, 2 Spiders. All that at one shore. -Alphas on Lawless islands are way to op and there are way to many -Serverperformance: We are back at the releasetime only that the serverpopulation decreased from 150 to arround 40. Serverping on EU PVE is almoast everywhere 240 (sometimes with only 15 players). Rubberbanding is back. Fighting against hostile animals or npc's while treasurehunting is impossible. -No way to protect your ships from beeing sunk by griefers. Yeah we can report them, but why should i report someone when my stuff is allready gone and i know for sure that they where reported by others allready. We managed to protect our "respawnship" by building a box arround it on lawless. -Shipdecay and Maintanance is out of this world. Skilled it to the max so far, but we have to login every few hours to refill the ressources box. Released a Galleon today and needed to refill the box after an hour (travelling from one lawless to another to go treasure hunting), after we met not one but 20 cyclones while anchored at a shore, arround 4000 wood, 500 iron, 4000 fibers and 2000 thatch were gone. Wait there was something, ah yeah how do i refill the box when there is no ressources on the islands? there is a lot more to mention but my fingers are hurting so let me say one last thing. How would the game look if i started it today the first time? I would deinstall it after 30 mins Sorry for my bad english, i am not a native english speaker

    Can someone explain why when an ally is trying to steal your territory and you go near their flag you are not contesting it? Also please make the message “Someone is stealing your territory at XXXX” stay on the screen longer, you can’t even screenshot it if it’s multiple people doing it. If you can make it so that message appears on the company log that would be greatly appreciated!!

    It was quite an experience when I encountered my first mermaid. I was sailing on a raft and I was looking for some fish to cook. I had to be fast in the water because of sharks. I jumped in, killed a fish and jumped back on raft. Suddenly, something started "pushing" me into the water, musical notes everywhere, I had no idea what was going on. I fell into the water and kept getting further and further away from the raft. I tried to swim back towards it but to no avail. I was freaking out because I knew the sharks weren't too far away. I started looking around and I spotted the mermaid over the waves. I was mesmerized at first but I have managed to snap out of it. I pulled out a spear and smacked her in the face at the last moment. Finally, I was released from her grasp and I could swim back to my raft. I jumped on, turned the sail into the wind and got the hell out of there. Then I got blown up by 3 SotD when I crossed the border to next region.

    because the BP's are useless because you likely have x2 or x3 depending on the quality and what you don't know is that x2 means two different types of wood... or x3 means three different types of wood So you want to make that amazing stone wall, well go sail across the world for a few hours for the mats OR just Make two walls instead and layer it up for more protection without having to run all over kingdom come!!!

    Set Skill resets to level 10 after 10 must spend 20 gold at a FP to reset skills by an NPC. its tireing to go into a tree with bugs like music and not able to reset.

    While I agree completely that the current setup is hell, I'm willing to give them the benefit of a doubt for now. Think all the damn hackers are slowing down work on other aspects of the game at the moment. I'm just guessing but I wouldn't be surprised if how things are constructed by a player on a ship (planks, walls, everything) makes the weight issue a ton harder to deal with. It's not just a single entity, but a collection. Depending on how they coded it it might be an cascading mess of bugs to do a simple change. Or maybe they're just overthinking things (immobile turret ships being op) and over complicating how it should be fixed.

    The main problem is there really is no downside in PvE to claim as much area as possible and cranking up the taxes to 30%. Options I see: Encourage lower taxes by making the owners pay taxes at same rate as other. - Is that the tax rate is paid for ALL players including company members, then the same tax rate is applied to what the bank receives and that is removed from game. The officers would decide how the taxes are spent. This would encourge also to recuit people to harvest in you area and provide reason to go to you area vs others. Encourage players only to claim what the need or can afford - Taxes must be paid in a Freeport bank once a month at a rate based on total claim area the company controls. The rate would be on an Arithmetic Progression and based on the amount of land created divided by the number of people in the company. Large Company would be taking great risks delivering the amount of gold needed to pay the taxes, single player claims and companys with small claims and meny member the effort would be trival. If this tax is not paid "ALL" the claims are removed. While the ideas above may not be what is needed, there does need a reason for a PvE Company not to claim everyplace the can and put max taxes.

    Babysitting a baby bear for temperature four hours long might me somewhat possible, but the temperature influence should end with juvenile status as there is no automation like air condition. Baby bears shoulld have a much wider range than 7-19 °C. mIght count for other creatues as well. Very unpleassant to spend the whole night to see theat it simply can't be done. You should remove that sadistic unhealthy person that implements such stuff from your team at all. It might be the same sociopath that did it with ARK. Still not sure if it is worth breeding at all if an alpha wolf/bear/lion can 1-2 hit a high level tame to death. The funniest thing is that wolves and lions agro very close after render distance.
