A strange thing just happened to me. I logged in inside my shack. Went out for around 10 minutes. Got back to the shack and a large storage box that was inside was just gone (including everything inside ofc). The door to the shack was closed and locked and there is no significant damage to walls or anything else (just a couple of hitpoints missing which is normal). There are also other containers inside and outside of the shack which are unaffected. The location of the box was [ cheat TP C5 184834 262951 747 ] (EU PvE).

It was quite an experience when I encountered my first mermaid. I was sailing on a raft and I was looking for some fish to cook. I had to be fast in the water because of sharks. I jumped in, killed a fish and jumped back on raft. Suddenly, something started "pushing" me into the water, musical notes everywhere, I had no idea what was going on. I fell into the water and kept getting further and further away from the raft. I tried to swim back towards it but to no avail. I was freaking out because I knew the sharks weren't too far away. I started looking around and I spotted the mermaid over the waves. I was mesmerized at first but I have managed to snap out of it. I pulled out a spear and smacked her in the face at the last moment. Finally, I was released from her grasp and I could swim back to my raft. I jumped on, turned the sail into the wind and got the hell out of there. Then I got blown up by 3 SotD when I crossed the border to next region.

This should be possible. Just to add some additional info. The hole to the upper floor is 2 triangles but it doesn't work with 3 triangle hole either and I think it should work with just 1 triangle hole anyway. The location of this specific construction is on EU PvE at [cheat TP C5 180265 262895 788], if that's any help.

I had the same problem with cloth pants. I could craft the whole set except pants. Fixed it by dying, didn't go through Freeport though.

No. It starts at 17k and goes down to -240k.

IDK about that. But the timer goes from +17k to -240k or something like that. So both 10k and -230k timer is "normal".

It should become contestable soon.

I also got only Drink option in the wheel menu. Has anyone tried F to "open target inventory"? I'm not at home ATM so can't test.

Like I said, it's not just those 17k seconds. It continues into negative and works the full 3 days. Again, it's a theory that it goes down all the way to -240k because I have personally never seen such low number. But it definitely goes down to at least -138k as you can see on the screenshot. And 138k + 17k = 155k seconds = ~43 hours. So it's at least that long. If the timer you see does not go down then maybe that's because someone is active or sleeping in the claim.

Timer display is bugged (has been for a while), runs to negative numbers. Theory is that it runs all the way to -240k or so before the protection is removed but I couldn't confirm myself. Look at my post here, where I provide screenshot with timer -138k where claim is still protected.

Maybe in later iteration of the system we will be able to designate areas where buildings are allowed. It's just the initial version of the system, let's see how it works first and give feedback on how it can be improved. Maybe even gold tax will come later. It would make sense if they implement flag upkeep. You get gold from renters and use it to pay claim upkeep.

You have a 3 day protection timer in PvE. You don't have to camp it, just make sure you have someone there to reset the timer every now and then. Unless by "camping" you mean "return to the claim every 3 days". In that case we have a very different definition of the term.

It will be changed in today's patch. We will see how it goes. - Animals health regen rebalanced, so they're not regenerating high amounts whilst in combat!

It's obviously not intended to show negative numbers so why would it be in patch notes? All I tried to explain is that negative number does not mean expired timer. And regarding the guy not logging in in a week all you have is the word of his "friend". Was the guy alone in his company? What about his "friend"? Were they not in the same company? Someone seems to be resetting the timer if it never goes further into negative.
