  1. Biggest thing making them not valuable is how easily they can be killed within a house or fall through the floor foundations. I have 7-8 chickens under my house in the foundations for weeks now. Bear - Fine Chicken - Fine but falls through the floor. Cow - Make milk more useful in cooking, more recipes, better food Bull - Give it more damage to be a low tier mount with higher weight for hauling Crow - So hard to tame right now, even trapping one in a cage they fly out. Int doesn't give you much anyways inregards to craftin buff. I believe the issue lies with the taming method & usefulness of Int rather than the animal itself. Razortooth - Can't comment Shieldhorn - Can't comment Elephant - Fine Giant Pig - Can't think of a reason to ever want one unless they drop a meat that gives taming buff or if they poo often or being force fed makes them poo. Something to let you make fertiliser easily. Giraffe - Let them gather thatch better than anything else. Horse - Seem okay, taming process is harder than the reward tho. Lion - So so weak right now, It should be the hardest/strongest predator. Monkey - Lets you consume less Stamina while running/jumping Ostrich - Its okay where it is, nice fun mid tier mount. Parrot - Fine. Penguin - Fine Rabbit - Fine Rhino - Fine Seagull - Warning system to when a SOD is near? Sheep - Too much hassle to tame one of these and keep it alive vs just killing them and harvesting them in the wild. Let shaving them give a unique kind of fur (Clean wool) rather than the fur you get from killing (Dirty wool) Tiger - Same as Lion. Vulture - Their hit boxs are really weird and with lag they just don't hit. I think they're fine but with high ping/lag they do become useless Wolf - Also very weak but overall seems fine in terms of the job it does.
  2. Let's play a game! If you were a designer, what would you change about the following tamable creatures? We often hear feedback that players don't find value in most of the ones we've tamable, and I know some ideas have been shared in various threads previously but figured I'd make a giant thread where y'all can suggest. Not saying any of this is going to happen, but curious to see what you suggest.   3. you mean only bear is op. thats right. try that with a wolf or bull tame lol. tames are weak as fuck except the big ones like bear.

There are moments when I miss the good old days of a level 2 wolf slaughtering my LVL 50 character in two bites, or that same LVL 2 wolf taking well over 6 shots to kill...all six guns loaded and equipped were not enough....however some islands have all the baddies you ever imagined in one spot, and others are quite calm in comparison neutral setting ftw and as mad eye moody would say...constant vigilance GL and may the odds be ever in you favour lol
  5. Same happened to my recently... but ti was an alpha wolf... - 5 more regular wolves. - 7 cobras. - 6 lions. - 3 scorpids. - 1 rattle snake - 1 croc. At least I counted that much of them... it's 23 different animals from different species! Cats, dogs, coldblooded, warmblooded all were best friends to each other... (I tamed another bear, took my well armed boat and went to revenge next day... they say that the taste of vengeance is bittersweet ©).
  6. Ok, so obviously you weren't around pre-wolf/alpha nerf. The reason people are laughing at your post is because of how utterly absurd it sounds compared to just a few weeks ago. You were what? Out with TWO bears farming? Pre-nerf, you would have been called an idiot. Now, we'll just call you a newb.
  7. Not all of us like to follow others like little sheep !!, many of us like to lone wolf or play in small groups so we can do want we want to do and not be a slave and told what to do.
  8. We also have this bug. We had it once on a tamed wolf. and then on several of the breeding bears. very annoying after all the effort put in.
  9. Left bear overnight on the highest platform in our base. Thought it disappeared like most of our bears before (For example one was later levitating a hundred meters above our base and another one disappeared suddenly on a beach while riding it) but found it later outside our base. When mounting it, it switched/glitched to the previous location. When moving a bit forward it jumped back outside the base again. One of our Elephants glitched through the ceiling. would place all the tames on the natural ground but there it would die by a wild spawning like snake, tiger, wolf for sure within the perimeter of the base. Youre developing a very ambitious and addicting game. Many bugs are gone since release. Keep up the good work.
  10. Ever since the reduction in wolf spawns, I feel like I'm not getting f***** nearly enough. I can work for almost 3 minutes straight before being savagely disembowelled by something spawning directly on top of me. Could we please get an increase in lion, cobra, snake, crocodile, shark and manta spawns ? Especially lions. I love losing control of my character, because I feel like I have too much control in my life as it is.

Upkeep/repair/durability - I really feel like spending my time repairing stuff... boat, tools, armors, weapons ... really start to be a burden. -Thats just part of playing survival games, never played one that didn't require you to maintain your gear Snake - more and more of these buggers, everywhere and any time and spawning in loop ... F'ing annoying to the point to rage quit. Not including they aggro from so far and follow you for ever, enough time to bump into more snakes... This is really really a pain. I visited some islands packed up with cows/horses/sheep... might you want to review your spawning rules seriously. -The spawn rates of predators in general could still use some love, but I just hope they don't nerf other predators as bad as the wolf nerf SotD - WTF you've done?!?! Yellow and red ships all over the seas ... Like really?1 Green was OK but swarms of green and yellow .. No good. when stuck in storm or small wind you are F'ed!! So was I -I have never had an issue avoid ships, even if I manage to get close enough to aggro one I have always been able to outrun them, even with low wind Repair - You should look at Conan, no need to have the full amount of mat to repair but just use what you have in inventory and repair to that amount, no need to go all the way to 100%. Really annoying when you cannot repair for 1 unit of mat missing, that would do for 99% repair which is enough. -I could see this working, but in general I always keep enough resources in my crafting stations to repair gear, and I have NPCs to repair my boat. Xbow - What do you have against? Best basic weapon ever, really missing mine from ARK -I prefer a bow over the crossbow generally, but that's just personal preference. However if they decide to add a cross bow the reload time should be greatly increased from what it is in ARK. Arrow not damaging - I have had many arrows stuck on mob but they completely ignored them... Really. On the over side, I can never ignore a bit - not fair indeed -Hit boxes need some work. especially on snakes and birds. Wind - If I go north so does the wind come from, south itoo ... I keep my sails at 75 angle nearly all the time ... I even spawned at my first boat to bring to my new plot of land, guess what? The wind was also from the front... -You really can't expect a sailing game to always have the wind at your back, that's just part of the experience.
  12. 3 alpha cobra, rattlesnake, alpha wolf, 2 tigers and last but not least the alpha scorpion were all eatting me once, bear almost died I had to jump off and let it fight itself. Why do I see a snake in the freezing cold anyway.....your post is spot on.
  13. Today I lost my bear. We went to southern regions to gather some metal (there is just 3 metal spawns in my island so I have to sail somewhere if I need a lot of it), and while exploring and gathering recourse in H3 we've been attacked by wild fauna. Are you ready? There were: - 7 cobras - 6 wolves pack with 1 alpha wolf. - 5 lions pride. - 3 scorpids - 1 rattle snake - 1 croc 23 creatures in total. At least I counted that much. All together. They were act like they are best friends to each other. I was just gathering another tin mine when suddenly was hit and hold by a lion. And then all I saw - this huge friends crowd arriving and killing my bear (we've been thru a lot together...) and then it was my turn. So... I understand - it survival game but... ...well. Maybe it's a good idea to separate wild creatures families? So cats would not be a best friends to dogs, cold blooded reptiles would not be friends to warm blooded creatures. Arthropods on their own, etc. So If I face for example the pack of wolves - there would be just a pack of wolves, not all fauna in the island alltogether. After all, we're not in MLP where friendship is magic right?

The only tames that are "oped" in pvp, have swivel cannons attached to them, the only reason tames have high health and damage resistance is because grapeshot decided that alphas needed to be everywhere and spawn every 10 minutes for 2 months. Alphas kept killing tames and there was nothing anyone could do about it, if you had a fast alpha on you, your tame was dead, it didnt matter. An alpha wolf, lion, or tiger specifically would tear tames apart. Maybe, you should have some context as to why tames are "oped". Grapeshot did this, and didn't think about the consequences that interconnected game systems would have.
  15. First time: I was climbing a little rock, as soon as I reached the top of it and got the blue line letting me jump to stable ground. Thats when my screen went black and I got the message (you are dead). When I got to choose where to respawn it showed me a area I had'nt been to (O13 I was in L10). After I respawned at the base, my body was gone and so was my items I hade carried. So I decided to teleport to another sector where It wanted me to respawn to (L14, we have a ship there.) Second time: As soon as I pressed teleport to L14 and started loading, It just gave me the message (you are dead) again! and I only see the respawn map again showing me out on the ocean at L10. Tried to respawn to O14 again. And this time it worked. But! Got killed (this time by my own stupidity to run in the arms of a hydra and wolfes). But when I tried to respawn back to another location (M12) this time it told me a 2nd time that I was killed "again"? by a wolf! However it showes my death X at L10! So a quick recap. 1, Died! Lost everything I was carrying. 2, died while respawning. 3, Respawned, died. 4, Died again while respawning. Added two pic showing where I got killed while trying to spawn. 1st. Spawn to O14 2nd. Sawn to M12
  16. Off the top of my head. Wolf nerf Fire arrow nerf Alpha and mob spawn nerf Adding resources in zones that were lacking them. Pve servers with players sinking other players ships by making them overweight. Making ships cheaper Increasing gathering rates Nerfig gliders Guns and armour balance Dragon nerfs Ship ramming balance List could go on and on.. all requested by the player base.
  17. You're stuck/respawning under a floor which had changes made to them that are retroactive. It may or may not apply to already affected structures, but prevents you & structures interacting that way in the future to help avoid the situation. No fix is perfect- there have been clipping issues for years in Ark. The fact is they are making progress. In all the transporting of animals I do as a bear & wolf trader, I have never had a tame completely dissapear. I have had tames fall off my boat- I've had tames get left behind while entering/leaving a laggy grid, to which we went back and retrieved them from the water. If they aren't dead in your game log, they still exist somewhere on the map, you just need to have the brain to retrieve them. See you when the game goes gold. Thanks, @Percieval
  18. as you saw in my video sneaking is not even required if you start from the belly and inch your way towards the face. I tame rhinos the same same..i NEVER get hit. I have 0 points into sneaking, its not necessary. Arguing its broken because you can't feed it from behind the head is about as legit as complaining you used to be able to feed it from its butt and now you can't. Get over it, things get changed. Some animals you can feed from behind the head some you can't ..or shouldn't. example the bull, can be fed from behind the head but getting hit by the horns is like 80%, or you can feed it from the belly and its 0% of getting hit. Carnivores can be fed from the front face is 90% of getting your face eaten, belly is 50% and back of the head is 0%. rhino, elepant, bull = belly tiger, wolf,bear, tiger = back of the head
  19. Unfortunately, greedy people don't share, and the non-greedy people are very few and far between. Either you sail forever hoping to find that little space you can steal from someone who isn't playing the game anymore, or you accept the first week overlords who snapped up all the land and tax everyone and rent the land out. It's a pretty crappy system if you didn't grab land in that first week. In all my searching, I found one place I could plant a flag, but there was a wolf still alive that I could see, so I knew that person had been active somewhat recently. I've found one person that was willing to give a couple claims to those looking for their first land, but with the dynamic expiration time update came some bad bugs, and they told me they don't want to risk letting go of land for fear of compromising the land they want to keep. I also live in lawless and have been searching for land for the better part of two weeks. I have about 500 hours in the game so far, but that's also pretty evenly split between a stint in a large company on NA-PVP, NA-PVE, and an unofficial server I'm helping building a new map on. Unofficial is an option, but it is pretty easy mode most of the time and you need to make sure it has active admins that enforce the rules and aren't prone to abuse.
  20. On: NA-PVE First, my situation: I'm living in Lawless, battling the foundation spam (an issue in itself). I created my character on Hydra's Den on launch day...but at the time I was trying to join a large group on Kraken's Maw which has since dissolved (I felt like trying to pvp with a large group and do the pve thing within them). I wish I had just played my character on Hydra's Den from the start...I would most likely be enjoying my own land now. I have 5 sloops currently out in various parts of the world searching for a claim to take. I've seen a lot of the game and here are the issues I've seen: 1) "1 land claim" despite multiple obvious land claims - I'm a programmer, so not being able to count claims which entirely match the criteria to increment that counter, just doesn't make sense to me...how can it be SO broken? The following picture was taken to illustrate this problem, there were several other land claim flags on the left, right, and out of view in front of me from the same company when I took this. Also led to this reply from someone willing to give away claims to friendly PVE players. 2) "1 land claim" despite multiple obvious sea claims claiming all the land near the 1 land claim - Sea Claims which overlap land need to count for the timer calculations. This leads to bigger companies with lots of claims (the ones that were supposed to be punished with the 3 day timers) relying primarily on sea claims to claim their land to get around the land claim calculation. In a game so heavily based on being on the sea...having a single claim in the middle of an island with no ability to make ships, is quite pointless. No one is giving up claims that I've seen, but they might be converting all the seaside claims to sea claims to lower their land claim amount to get the long expiration time. 3) Negative Land Claims - How the hell are we supposed to know how many land claims someone has? See image in #4 4) After PVE Expiration counts down for a flag that has negative land claims, the new clock counts away from 0 and really makes no sense. 5) Upkeep time vs PVE Expiration time - PVE expiration can count down...but the Upkeep time defaults to 21 days no matter how many land claims they have. If you meant for people to be able to steal claims more quickly from large companies, this will stop it every time. In my searches I've found exactly one place I could actually put down a flag. But there was a wolf still alive, so obviously still somewhat active....so I did not claim the land. I don't want to ruin someone else's time in PVE. The claims by people on the forums that "90%" of the land is free for the taking, are bullshit, not with these bugs. Hell, one guy that was offering to give away land claims, won't do it because his flags show bug #1 above...only one land claim. He thinks it will risk his other land claims he doesn't want to lose. I understand why he doesn't want to risk it, and I don't blame him. For someone actively looking for land to claim, these assorted issues make looking for a claim to steal frustrating as all hell. Along with that and greediness of all the players in the game who DON'T give up the extra land and would rather "let" us build and "rent" the land (only to "evict" if you ever cross them), how is anyone ever supposed to find any land to claim after launch. I pay rent in real life...I'm not paying rent in a god damn game. Fix the damn claim system to discourage people from overclaiming in PVE. Land Claims are obviously preferable to the foundation spam of lawless and the foundation spam from Ark....but the system needs to be better than this for PVE. There needs to be limits on how many claims one person can claim in PVE...that's the only way to resolve this. Stealing land is not PVE content...that's PVP content. I really like the experience on PVE, specifically official PVE, if you ignore the claim system and are able to actually enjoy the game. Virtually endless exploration, but I'm not one to live on a boat, I have to have a home base to feel secure. PVE on unofficial just doesn't give the same experience...it's easy mode. Unfortunately, the badly thought out PVE claim system makes it impossible to steal land if you weren't there for the first land rush. If you weren't there, you'll spend all your time searching and hoping to find someone else's land to claim...which is again, NOT PVE content. I have no interest in debating this system with the forum...which is why I'm filing this bug report instead. If you want to add to the list of bugs or various issues, I'll be happy to update this original post with that information. I did not see a bug report for these issues which is why I created this thread. Also, if you find this bug report helpful, please upvote it for visibility.
  21. 4 of us went to H6 yesterday. I had to log off, before seeing the cave. They finally made it after several deaths. When I got home, I made a ramshackle and went there... no way to do it alone. A friend joined me, then another, one who had completed it earlier. He was going to be bait for us and lure the baddies out of the way. There was a lion blocking the cave entrance. We could dodge the elementals, but the lion would not be lured out of the way. We figured it was close to moving to M12, so went to the close freeport, built a raft in 5 minutes (3 of us gathering) and headed out. M 12 was SO EASY! The only thing we needed to do was have the one guy who did it earlier lure out a couple of snakes and bats. We were able to walk in and complete it easy. I do wonder though... Maybe the longer it is open in a zone, the harder it gets? Not one elemental or lion or wolf to deal with at M12. If you are solo, I recommend getting maybe one or two more people there to run with. Should be a breeze. As far as the whole mechanic of it? It could be a cool idea. The current implementation is not very good, but has potential.

  23. I've seen people talking about FoY being hard and tbh I don't know if there's a difference between FoY on PvP and PvE, but I doubt it besides the fact other players can kill you. I got my raft the other week, went over to M12, found a parking spot on the south side to anchor my raft. Fast travelled back to base, then at 9pm (when it was expected to be there) I fast travelled back to the raft. Ran straight to the entrance, skipping past 2 cyclops and a wolf. Made it into the cave entrance where there was a bit of a squeeze with people on the floor. Made it through to the FoY, which wasn't there. There were about 10 of us all there laying around on the ground waiting for the FoY, with multiple bats either flying at the wall, or flying around hitting the odd person. The FoY didn't appear until 10pm, so over the course of that hour I died twice due to bats hitting me in the FoY area. The rest of that hour I spent laying on the ground on top of the FoY location. It was much easier than I ever anticipated. I'm pretty sure PvP should be the same besides players attacking players. I find it confusing as to how people struggle with FoY in its current state.

    Wolf Stuck

    So since yesterdays treasure hunt, 2 of our wolfes stuck between a wall and a mountain. I would like to ask for a ingame option to unstuck animals or a report so that ingame admins can take care about it.
  25. Ty Devs to kick me from the game. Not because a dev use a command to kick me from the game... just becasue u demostrate useless solving the HIGH amount of problems the game have, Bugs, exploits, Hacks... You dont have a direction to develop the game, just sold a early access game (Wildcard to Devs to Fuck their Customers) and u are going forward doing changes here and there without a clue where to go at the end. We have a huge amoun of bug, connectio problems, but what next... a submarine, on a pirate game... a submarine... The game have a problem with the ships, because everyone can sunk a ship just entering the ship... The solution, bug everyone that join a ship they dont own. (easy) So many wolves, no problem, less damage, more spawn time, bears Hp increase,... so now, Every time u see a wolve is like.. OMG!!! AN ALIVE WOLF!!!! Alpha spawn at base, unsolved. Ships sunked because u got disconected, and server doesnt let u reconect... Ships Sunked, because u change the cluster, u lost the control for a min until u load the new cluster, and surprise M F, u look your ship have a hole in the hull because when u enter the new cluster u find 2 ships of the dammed, and you cant respond the attack in a min... At last, but not less important... Even in alpha access, Early access, or whatever name u want to put here, other DEVS from other COMPANYS, Give Ingame Compensations for the BUGS, time wasted bcause Rollbacks, Connections problems... That kind of actions determinate the future of the games. TY to let me fell, im wasting my time here. Better late than never
