  1. OK, first off i posted this in discord but it was first cut and then deleted. Kudos tho for recovering the pictures. Here i start with the conclusion, then with the facts. When a server wakes up from statis, it first spoiles all meat/food for the time in stasis, then spoiles the spoiled meat, then let the baby eat from the remaining food. I had this happen: I left them with 6 stacks for 50 raw meat, they had 3h45min to the first imprint, so less then 1h45m to go to become juvenile. I went to sleep for 6 hours. this was the server time about 10 min after logging in. The tigers therefore got killed when I woke up the server. Tow of the tigers (one 78 and the 79) left a bag (cache), here is the containing of one So i do some math here: A super young tiger eats on raw meat every 33 seconds, i allways calcuate with 30 seconds. So in 10 min 20 meat are consumed. In this 10 min one meat spoiles per stack. So 26 meat are consumed at max every 10 min. 300/ 26 ~ 11,5. So the meat was about to last nearly 2 hours. Tigers should have been fine, and would have been fine when the server hadnt gone into stasis. But waking up from stasis, the server does this: (here with meat, it is the same with veggies and berries, but bc of longer spoil time /stacksize, it doesnt matter to much there) It spoiles meat for 6 hours, so 36 meat per stack. then it spoiles the spoiled meat 8 times 6 stacks (48) spoiled. so it leaves 216-48 = 168 spoiled meat. Ofc the logic is not fully, but near enough and in the end it checks out. Then the server let the baby eat from the remaining food. 14 times 6 is food for about 42 minutes, so the baby died about half way. Here a picute showing the bags plus the FT they would have eaten from: Now the mods in discord think this is not valuable information for the QA team. Here i go overboard and make a suggestion with the bug report: How about doing the same method in 10 min increments (for babies, and FT), so in intervals of the shortes spoilt time. If it kills performance to much, just increase spoil time (in babies maybe), the crabs and vulture tamer will be fine
  2. THERE SHOULD BE A REASONABLE TIMER ON BEDS MAKES IT VERY HARD TO SAVE YOUR ITEMS WHEN YOU CANT EVEN SPAWN. FURTHER MORE THE SPAWN TIMER AFTER YOU DIE IS RIDICULOUS I DIED 3 TIMES AND GOT AN 8 MIN TIMER WHICH CAUSED ME TO LOOSE EVERYTHING. I UNDERSTAND THE TIMERS ARE IN PLACE TO GIVE THE PEOPLE IN A PVP SITUATION A CHANCE BUT 8 MINS IS VERY EXCESSIVE I DONT BELIEVE A TIMER SHOULD GO ABOVE THREE MINS MAX. ESPECIALLY WITH THE FACT THAT YOU SPEND HALF THE DAY SAILING FROM ONE PLACE TO THE NEXT TO GET MATERIALS AND SO FORTH JUST TO LOOSE IT ALL BECAUSE YOU DIED 3 TIMES AND COULDNT SPAWN BACK IN TO SAVE YOUR STUFF.
  3. First time: I was climbing a little rock, as soon as I reached the top of it and got the blue line letting me jump to stable ground. Thats when my screen went black and I got the message (you are dead). When I got to choose where to respawn it showed me a area I had'nt been to (O13 I was in L10). After I respawned at the base, my body was gone and so was my items I hade carried. So I decided to teleport to another sector where It wanted me to respawn to (L14, we have a ship there.) Second time: As soon as I pressed teleport to L14 and started loading, It just gave me the message (you are dead) again! and I only see the respawn map again showing me out on the ocean at L10. Tried to respawn to O14 again. And this time it worked. But! Got killed (this time by my own stupidity to run in the arms of a hydra and wolfes). But when I tried to respawn back to another location (M12) this time it told me a 2nd time that I was killed "again"? by a wolf! However it showes my death X at L10! So a quick recap. 1, Died! Lost everything I was carrying. 2, died while respawning. 3, Respawned, died. 4, Died again while respawning. Added two pic showing where I got killed while trying to spawn. 1st. Spawn to O14 2nd. Sawn to M12
  4. Here is my list of improvements after a fair amount of playtime. Please consider the critics. The game have good potentials but you really need to step away from the copy paste all mechanics ARK had. You need to bring more new stuff. Specially how to interact with objects. Your E menu interface is not fun at all. Noticeable when sailing. My list of suggestions: 1. Cold = Death: If you decide to be on cold islands well fortitude won't save you, spent 8 points into it still freezes to death unless near 3 campfire with cloth armor. Also standing in houses require a lot of fire to keep warm. Increase fortitude resistance to elements House give resistance to all elements 2. Acid Rain: Rain comes together with cold fronts, as mention cold was already a huge issue and kills you a lot, being wet makes it even worse. I died in a warm freeport because a cold front with rain came. It is savage. Also spawning in rain 100% wet, 1 nano second in rain 100% wet. Make wetness scale linear instead of 100% wet when outside. The skill tree for resistance to coldness in water should apply to the coldness applied by the wetness bar. If wet you resist the extra coldness a lot better. Right now it is not even noticeable. 3. Building: It was not nice in ARK and since the game is more or less an exact copy it is still a pain. The use of T and Q to bring snap points and so forth barely noticeable and sloped half wall has a right and left config and it is pain in butts to pay attention to when to use the right one. Automate the half sloped walls to fit for left and right. Either make better visual for the use of T and Q instead half opacity white in left bottom corner or bring back old ARK building with blueprints instead of T Loom is huge scale it down! looks like a big shop. Longer time to pick up or always able to pick up. 4. Vitamine: So yes super cool idea but don't really work? I guess you want cooking to be a huge thing although the vitamine destroys it. You eat one source to the rim of overeating and vitamine overeating. The deplition of vitamine is far less than hunger. You get hungry much much quicker and whopsie daysie you are poisoned for eating to much of same vitamine. This can kill you. Remove damage from overeating same source of vitamine Sync vitamine depletion together with hunger depletion Make skill of lesser vitamine depletion to also make hunger deplete lesser. 5. Boats: They are bad, it is so hard to sail them! Anchor is impossible, you need to find that hidden spot with small text, sails well you need to navigate through the worst interface menu of all games to find rotation and sail lower and raise buttons. Instead you could bound them to the actual buttons. After pressing E on sails use W and S to raise and lower sails. Hold E to get Massive interface where you can quick lower or quick raise. Will make it more easier to sail. Afer pressing E use A and D to turn around sail to Left and Right. Will make it much easier. Sloops hole in middle totally useless unless hiding from acid rain. Can't build anything down there or take part of fire warmth. Add visual anchor spot to press E on, If stuck on land have sound effect and increase the turn speed for easier unstuck. When sailing instead of only a small picture of showing wind and sails, add some sort of wind blowing in a certain direction. Make a fancier picture. More animation and sounds during sailing. Like more water splashing against the boat when more rough seas and more bounce up and down on the waves with sounds of boat splashing down after a big wave. 6. Death: So there is a lot of glitches when it comes to death. If you die many times it clips through environment and you cant reach it. Fix the body clipping through building, minerals, boats and ground. Transfer all items button for all inventory management Make the death beam smaller and more centralized. Death beam animation of skull need improvement. 7. Resources: Well it is not that bad but some remarks here. When using sickle you get berries from berry bush and fiber from fiber bush. Why not get fiber from all bushes increase the rate of fiber gathered. Specially in the cold biome from cotton bushes barely noticeable. Increase fiber gain from using Sickle. When you harvest stone as an example you can hit anything near that stone. I got killed by a pack of elephants because I harvested stone on the opposite side of where an elephant stood. Spears also hits everything in its surrounding even behind you. Once again elephants killed me because I tried to kill a chicken! As a last mention please be sure to at least try to optimize things. 100 GB disk space and computers can barely run it. My friend gets black skyboxes and I run below 60 fps with GTX 1060 3GB where I could run ARK with almost 60 FPS with much higher settings in graphics. To me it seems to be the water causing a lot of problems.
  5. Do not. DO NOT build on ceilings. All tames and players offline fall through the floor. 39 tames lost to tigers. 39, including Giraffes, Elephants, Rhinos, Ostriches, Cows, Bulls, Sheep, Penguins to name a few. HOURS of work, just poof. I have included the tames that were killed. I don't know if theres anything an Admin could do, but the amount of hours lost is just baffling.
  6. I logged onto my save, which was working just fine yesterday, and as soon as I started to try to gather wood i would hit the tree and receive nothing. The same happens with rocks and stone. I also am unable to attack anything, as my attacks do not register and go through the creatures. Yet for some strange reason I'm able to gather from plants, and chat with other players. While all of this is happening my hunger, water, vitamins, and stamina drain as normal. If i'm unable to gather or kill I'm unable to survive. is this happening to anyone else? Any advice on how to go about resolving this issue? List of things I've tried: Resetting the game Resetting the computer (Soft and Hard) Fully shutting down the computer Trying another server, then switching back (other server plays just fine)
  7. Death should have consequences... Currently death has no real consequences other than those that are a result of other consequences. I think death should have character consequences, so that players would generally seek to avoid death, and as is it can even be exploited a good deal because it has no consequences what so ever. If one were to lose a certain amount of maximum hit points per death, either based on a static amount or a percentage based on total amount of hit points, down to a maximum hit point reduction cap, which I think should be no more than 25% of the characters total hit points (based on base amount + hit points gained from level). These should be regainable over the course of time, eating healthy, applying remedies (and possibly magic if implemented) and avoiding conflict - the amount of time should be tweaked to find the appropriate amount and should obviously also be tied to the amount one would lose per death, so one should as a minimum recover a base amount equivalent to a day per death, or similar. This way, death is taken alot more serious, and won't be exploited, at least not to the degree it is now. This will also be beneficial to taking hunger, thirst and vitamins seriously, where as now because death has no consequences, it's more of an annoyance than anything else. The consequence of dying could be as much as 5% per death and as little as 0.5%, which will be up to the devs to decide. To clarify: This would essence be a temporary debuff that last at maximum a day per death, up to certain maximum, which sole depends on how severe the consequences of death is going to be, so these should be tied, which basically is just the debuff being stacked and as such should the recovery time. This is something that characters can recover from, through eating healthy, avoiding conflict and death. As it currently is, the hunger, thirst and vitamin system is disliked and not even taken serious, because there is no real downside to it, as you can just let your character die and then respawn without any real and lasting detriment to player's character or the player for that matter. This can be improved to a point where it can both a benefit or a detriment to the player's character. So how could it be achieved that the thirst, hunger and lack of vitamins is taken more serious? For one, by introducing a more lasting detriment to the player character if death to the character incurs, for whatever reason, like for instance reducing the maximum number hit points the character has by a certain amount or percent, although still with a maximum reduction that it can be reduced to. The character would be able to regain these by a certain amount/percent per day, where keeping certain vitamin types in the high area would lead to faster recovery, and it could be considered that certain foods would lead to even faster recovery, various remedies could possibly also be considered to add to this effect, including magic if that becomes a thing in the game. Furthermore, the vitamin surplus debuff really needs to be removed, as having a vitamin surplus has realistically never been a thing, because for humans excess vitamins is flushed from the system and does not become absorbed. The maximum hitpoint should also be able to be increased through the same as above, but only to half amount of what it could be reduced with. Actual values will need to be tweaked to find the appropriate amount, but I think the maximum hit point reduction cap should be around 25% of total hit point, and the maximum it can be increased temporarily to should be 12,5%. Further clarification: The bonus to maximum hitpoints, etc. is the equivalent of a lasting temporary buff that will expire upon death, where this death would put one to 0% in terms of bonus or penalty. It's basically a stackable buff that will stack up to the maximum 12.5%, the increments it will increase with depends on what values the devs decide to go with. However, 2.5% is a fitting number. This is to encourage attempting to stay alive for prolonged periods of time. A note on wildlife & other issues that needs to be fixed I will say this though, there are various things that certainly needs to be fixed before implementing this, like wildlife has to be fixed. Because wildlife currently as is - a great threat and would only be intensified if the above is implemented. But why do I say that wildlife is a great threat? The thing is, most of the wildlife that are aggressive by default can out right kill you, especially if you cannot outrun it, you can outrun snakes, but they can torpor you even after you've outrun them, where it will either attempt to still kill you or some other aggressive animal will. The primary issues with hostile wildlife is that they can attack through the mesh of the environment, including buildings and ships, where they should not be able to, the spawn amount and respawn timers, and that they're way too lethal and you cannot outrun them. Some of the absolute worst in the game currently would be wolves, lions and crocodiles. On the note of crocodiles, they're so bad currently because they can attack characters on smaller ships and can prevent players from getting rid of them, even trying to lure them away from the ship won't work, as they swim faster and only takes 2-3 attacks to outright kill one, they can potentially kill you before you even get a chance to lure them away. And given how respawn mechanics work, it almost litterally impossible to get it away from the ship. So yes, the wildlife is too much of a severe threat and seriously needs to be toned down, especially BEFORE implementing the above. In regards to implementing the above, it also means that bugs, glitches and game imbalances where death can incur needs to be fixed appropriately before implementing the consequences of dying as suggested in this post. I am interested in knowing your thoughts on this @Jatheish and the community as well. Perhaps others have ideas similar to this or ideas that will support this even further.
  8. Now it has happened several times that a player for no reason drops dead. One was standing on a rock and just simply died with full health and stamina, next one was putting roof on his house...and just died for no reason. No deathmarker when coming back in game, no gear to recover, all gone. Quite a serious bug. Server hosted at Nitrado, and we all have good gaming pc's.

    I can't die

    I cannot die since my sloop was destroyed, I always respawn in the same zone when I restart, my stats dont decrease or increase. Need help please, i cant play.
  10. Hi, i was attacked by a manta ray and was killed. When i died, the manta instantly became a shark and the message was displayed that i had been killed by a shark. I was then moved to the create a pathfinder screen with no option to go back. I had just put around 35+ hours into this char in the last 2 days (since buying the game) and have 2 territories which are set up quite nicely. I'm hoping that because i was in a company with my bro (invited him to my company and made him admin) that the territories will go to him? Thing is, i made a new char with the same name as i didn't have another option (as far as i know), and visited the first territory i claimed. The flag is still there but doesn't show an owners name, but does show the company name on it. I'm just waiting for my brother to log in to check to see if he has the claim to it or not / if he can invite me back into the company and basically see what happens. Will update the post later today. Anyways i just thought id let you guys know the issue is still occurring, i know that others have lost their characters also.

    Upon dying and respawning I don't get the pillar of light like my friends do and my corpse is missing or I don't get the satchel of items.

    LOVE THIS GAME

    I love this game BUT I cant seem to play, either because the server pushes me out for whatever reason, or because I cant seem to collect any of the resources like wood or stone... I punch the trees & nothing comes out of them... or very little... no wood I die after so many times punching trees Then I cant get back in game because the server is full or some timeout message... The last I played... I couldnt even collect anything like fruit from the bushes... I push the "collect/use' button, & my girl just stands there collecting nothing.... Help... I wanna play this game so bad... PLEASE
  13. I know other people have had this issue, but I just wanted to put my name in there too. I was level 8 and grinded all day through the lag yesterday to get a raft and get off the starting island and get to a new grid server, K12, and there luckily was minimal lag. I was on a PVE server and had a bed on my Raft. I logged off for the day (I was getting spawn camped by Tigers for an hour straight) and came back today to it saying I was killed by a snake in my sleep. I don't know how that works when I was on my raft, but OK. At least I still had my levels so its fine. Nope. Clicked respawn at bed, and it did nothing. I tried multiple times and it eventually spawned me on the starting server ????? Where I had 6 fps and massive rubberbanding because of all the sleeping people. It forced me to spawn there because my bed was glitched, I could see it on the map and see the spawn on bed option. Then after killing myself finally on the starting island, I clicked spawn on bed (which was now in the next server over) and it RESET MY CHARACTER AND BROUGHT ME TO THE CHARACTER CREATION SCREEN. Hours of suffering and all the progress from it - completely gone. Why should I play this game and grind through the awfully designed first few levels if in the end all my progress gets randomly reset? Unless my progress is restored, I don't think I will continue to play the game. Thanks.
