Was on F8 running around while my crew was sailing to E8. Got killed by a lion and then instead of a respawn screen i was in the main menu of atlas. Now I can't log back with my character into the game. when i try to log in it will log me to E8 and force me to create a new character. I am the owner of the Company with 6 members. What should i do now? I have restarted the game, restarted Steam, restarted the computer. It seems the data of my character has been lost. Any ideas?

Hi, i was attacked by a manta ray and was killed. When i died, the manta instantly became a shark and the message was displayed that i had been killed by a shark. I was then moved to the create a pathfinder screen with no option to go back. I had just put around 35+ hours into this char in the last 2 days (since buying the game) and have 2 territories which are set up quite nicely. I'm hoping that because i was in a company with my bro (invited him to my company and made him admin) that the territories will go to him? Thing is, i made a new char with the same name as i didn't have another option (as far as i know), and visited the first territory i claimed. The flag is still there but doesn't show an owners name, but does show the company name on it. I'm just waiting for my brother to log in to check to see if he has the claim to it or not / if he can invite me back into the company and basically see what happens. Will update the post later today. Anyways i just thought id let you guys know the issue is still occurring, i know that others have lost their characters also.

UPDATE: Logged back in this morning and it logged me into my temporary level 7 character... UPDATE: Character data was restored. Noticed after my temporary character died a few times around lvl 7, suddenly had my original level and character name back. So me and my buddies were taming a wolf and I happened to die to it and when I tried re-spawning at a raft, I did; but it spawned me on a total random strangers raft in the same grid zone but I somehow body swapped with the character owner of that raft and he body swapped with my account character. We tried dying and restarting game but issue still persisted. After a while I finally met the "new character" window. Me(Chaotic Squid) and the other person involved (Ava Skylord) were pretty high level. Unsure if they managed to keep their character but if not; we want this fixed please and restore character data for us. Picture attached is me(Chaotic Squid) but in "Ava Skylords" body. I lost my 8th character to a mystery reset. This time I fast traveled from a bed to another but spawned stuck between two chests on the floor below. I punched the air to get myself down to 5 hp in an attempt to kill myself. Once I realized that my food / water would not get drained because my stamina could not regen while falling I logged out. A tribemate tried to move me and may have killed me with a tool using that bug to try to get me reset. When I joined back in I was met with the character creation prompt. We play on the PVE server so between dying while falling and dying to another player I am not sure which may have triggered it. If I can provide any more info let me know.

My character file was lost today after I died. This one we had just sailed from one island to another when I was killed by a Lion. Right after the lion killed me the character creation screen opened up. I did not press anything on my side after dying, it just seemed to default to that screen. Time to make character 9, if there is anything I can provide to help troubleshoot this issue let me know.
