pvp [PVP 10XP,10Tame,10Collect]Mods Extreme Weekend Warriors 5x5
OctavariumGaming replied to MsgAmmo's topic in Advertisements
My company, Krakengard, and I have been enjoying your server for a couple of weeks now. However there are a couple of issues, the other night my buddy and I were in A1 taming a male lvl27 wolf and we noticed the taming speed seemed to be x1. In the process of trying to tame it, it was accidentally killed with errant crossbow shot at 96%. This was our first larger tame so we were both a bit miffed. So we thought it was taking too long tame and I noticed I was barely getting any XP even though I had the "New Discovery" xp buff on. We verified the lower rates by harvesting a tree and only getting a tenth of what we normally get on the servers. I sailed us down to A2 and there I was getting the normal x10 gathering and XP rates. The next issue I have is the Fountain of Youth. How are we supposed to defeat the PvE monster without a huge company and alliances? On official we did the dragon but it was 4 brigs fully loaded with company/alliance members shooting it. How are we supposed to kill that with 4 man companies? Is there a mod that takes care of this? We are looking to play with some more guys so if you need a crew hit me on discord here https://discord.gg/qKd5pu See ya out on the seas! -

Hi team, I feel that the view distance for ships on the ocean is far too short. In reality, masts and even SotD pennants would be visible for miles. In-game however, they appear about 4 or 5 galleon lengths away. The ships in the image below are at the extreme distance. A galleon just winked out of view. If a wolf pack appears directly in front of you, as has happened many times for me, my galleon has no opportunity to evade and must hope to simply weather the assault. I get that the proximity adds some challenge but I feel it's unreasonably challenging at this time. I'm lucky that this hasn't happened when I've been running 6 kts under shitty winds, but it'll happen sooner or later and it's likely that I'll rage quit at having lost an expensive ship and all her cargo to a poorly-designed game mechanic. It would be just peachy if you'd double or triple the ship render distance, perhaps just for ships of the damned, or perhaps just on the PVE servers. Cheers

I really dont like the implementation. I was looking forward to harvest some ice in polar. NOW u would need an outpost for idle generation of it. Everyone will CHEESE it on the ocean floor instead. (Idle is idle, why transport it, finally a use for the crab again) When this get fixed we have another flame arrow/wolf in the game!

After building many traps that did not work I finally figured out the best way to get a herd built up. I will call it, Block & Build. First it's best to already have a horse. I know, this is not what you wanted to hear. Buy one, borrow one or try this technique with a wolf or a bear or whatever you have. Build 6 thatch foundations and about 10 thatch walls and put them on your hotbar. Then run around with the wild horses, when one stops near you, walk you and your animal in front of it for the block. The horse will rear up and try to run, but it usually only runs forward. You will need to back up a tad and then move forward a tad very quickly to get the horse stuck inside your mount. At this point throw down your foundations and walls around the wild horse and you, as fast as you can. Start at the left and right of the wild horse to stop it from turning, then cover the back. The foundations do not need to connect, in fact it's better if they don't. Leave gaps for taming, if possible. After that, figure out how to partition off the wild horse, get your mount out of the mix, grab your sugarcane and bolas, the rest is super easy. Or, come on over to G8 (PVE) and buy a horse from us. Happy Herding

AGREED! The time it takes to tame a wolf vs the time it takes to rot your meat is insane.

This for sure! We were in C11 Temporate and had wolf packs we constantly were dealing with. Leaving the base and making a run for the shore was a challenge in itself sometimes. And we died a lot, and we built traps to catch them, and we had so much fun!!!! Lions came out at night and we would sometimes just hole up and talk about what we wanted to do when the sun came back out! And to agree further with other comments And the agro range was crazy on some of them. You tap a horse and the alpha horse from the other side of the island decided your face was dinner. And the Alpha fights were like mini boss fights and you felt awesome when you beat them. Or you would use the terrain and crush them from above. Either way the game was dangerous and I felt like I really had to play to survive againg the environment. -

Some places seem ok, and a bit of a challenge. Spent most the weekend in K3, realy good place to find bears. unfortunately it's also a realy good place to find lions & wolves, came across 4 alpha lions and 5 alpha wolves, so lost a couple of bears, my life a few times, my monkey got chewed right off my shoulder and an almost tames 29 female bear to an alpha wolf that apeared out of nowhere. That seemed a fair challenge to me. Some places however seem too tame, where only compete inattention might be harmfull. So i don't think it's a global thing that needs adjusting, more of a regional or even an island specific spawn udjustment. -
Hello, so i'm not sure anyone else has had this issue but like a week ago I started having an issue with base rendering and fast traveling. So basically what happens if I am really far away from my base for instance in A9 and I fast travel back to my base I sometimes get killed by my base defenses and it gives me an option to create a new tribe if I hit "L" to check the company logs... This has also happened when I first log in also. I tried to be as specific as possible so the Developers can try to fix this. If you have also experienced this try to help spread the word. I have noticed this issue happen more often and more consistently when I die and spawn in a new region. I am not sure if its a temperature issue from traveling from a high desert to a tundra or not though that is just one example. Things that happen with this Bug Note* My Max health is 199 and when the problem happens I have around 90 health when I respawn after dying, I have noticed if I bed port to a new bed the health goes back to normal - Killed by company owned Npc's on login or fast travel - lose 50% of my health instantly because it thinks I am floating in water after fast traveling or logging in --- Has also happened when I spawn on a foundation and not having a render issue, mainly noticeable when traveling from different biomes after dying and spawning into a new biome - can't see company logs as soon as I spawn because it gives me an option to create a new company after fast traveling - wild animal's glitch into the base when rendering "Not 100% sure about this one, but somehow a wolf spawned in our tower on the 2nd floor and was stuck in the wall and killed an NPC" Possible Related Causes Ground Check / Render Issue = I noticed ceiling tiles I have a tendency to glitch through when spawning Temperature Check / Biome Issue Info about my PC Yes my PC is old and outdated and I played Ark for a very long time and never had issues with the world vanishing and spawning me into an ocean. It seems like it is a very consistent thing on Atlas maybe the islands are to large to render on lower end hardware that causes these issues but I have friends that have really good Hardware that have also experienced this PC Spec's i7 920 OC 3.8ghz CPU 16gb DDR3 Ram 1 TB Hard drive AMD Rx 570 8gb GPU Image 1 - Create a New Company Option after fast traveling Image 2 - Floating in water below my base while the base renders

Still not a lot in the way of any danger on g4 larger islands, giraffes and rhinos galore, Only danger is ants and the off low lvl rattlesnake Al the wolf's / cobras/ crocs that used to keep me on my toes are almost non existant -
Is there any particular reason why Razortooths are completely useless and weak, shouldn't they have at least a decent health pool and not be a wolf with less stamina and a bigger hitbox?
-
thats only if you have two, they cant buff themselves, it is one of the weakest due to the fact solo, it runs out of stamina so quick. while 1 fear roar should drain stamina, that should be by %, but when running you just drain so quickly. their bite does horrible damage, i agree with the OP, wolf damage.

Taming: Flavor text vs. the frustrating reality.
Captain Jack Shadow replied to Ichor's topic in General Discussion
The taming system definitely needs and overhaul. The Devs of games like this think that evertything must be monumentally difficult, or people will get bored doing it. Not true at all. Many people love building things. That's not hard at all. Same for building ships. Farming isn't actually that difficult. Taming a monkey isn't actually difficult, and I enjoy that no less than taming other things. Frustration is not good. People don't like being frustrated. That being said, other than the Elephant, taming isn't too difficult, and I know people prefer the much lower time to tame here, than in ARK. Don't get me started on Breeding. Just get a good bear and pump everything into health. Then, do the skills that will make it easier. Sneak 3, Taming proficiency, and get the Monster Whale achievement. Then, put the taming food in your 0 slot, fill your inventory with bolas, and put a couple in your hot bar. Find the animal you want to tame, and start hitting it with a bear. If it is an area with a lot of predators spawning, you will not want to do this alone. Take at least one other person on a high health/high melee bear to kill anything that threatens you and your tame. Put your bear...the one you are riding, on passive, so it won't kill the tame, in the event that you get hit. The bear that you ride, you want high health, and you are better served if you have Nature's Touch 3. You do not actually want this bear to have very high Melee, as having lower melee allows you to use the bear more safely in lowering the health of the tame, so you can bola it. The person who is riding the other bear, should have Nature's Touch 3 and Nature's Cry 3, and his bear should have high health and melee. Put down a bed near the tame so you can get back quickly, if you are killed. It helps if there are at least two people spec'd fully into taming, but just being able to continue feeding is the most important thing, so tier 3 for the Giraffe. If one person gets killed, the other person takes over feeding, to prevent loss of progress. If lions are nearby, and you are doing this alone, learn where the [-] key is. If you get pulled off the bear by a lion, that is your first action...press the [-] key to take your bear off passive and put it on neutral. Don't use traps. For some reason, these cause aggressive animals to last out more. There are ways around this, but you would need a team to do it. Like placing down wood walls just before the tame wakes up, and demolishing them to do the feeding, rinse and repeat until the taming is complete. I do use structures to close in a horse, to tame it. Get it's health down from the back of a bear...and once sufficiently down, bola it in an area with relatively flat ground, and few obstructions. Once down, enclose it with structures. Begin feeding only after enclosed. Medium gates work best. Thatch foundations with walls at least 2 high also work. If taming an ostrich, or other low health tames, such as a wolf, put a bow and arrow in your 1 slot. Bolas in 2 and 3. Do not spec into Strong Arm for the bow. Use the bow from the back of the bear to lower the tame's health if you fear the bear will kill it with one more hit. A good indication would be that the bear takes half or more of the tame's health with one hit. A second hit might kill it. Biting does a little bit less damage than swiping with the paw. -
This may be me neighbors! They be going for Kraken this coming Saturday. Grey Wolf I think? We plan to join in the fun! Great guys. aka Can Abyss

Loathsome chests : about 12 gold from a purple one. Not worth changing the course or stopping the ship to fetch these. You lose too much time. Whaling : Well, 800-1000 gold is not bad, BUT you lose a lot of time sailing into the grits with whales.. and back. You have to take care about the cold, about the whales sinking your ship, about searching endless time for a whale, paying your crew on the harpunes during that endless waiting time for a whale to appear, about sharks eating you while looting the whale. shipwreck diving : dont try free diving, squids and sharks will eat you. Do it by using the diving suit from the pirate skill tree. You will get about 120 gold for a wreck. Well, it takes too long, sailing to the next wreck, diving again, waiting for the night to use the sextant.. and so on. Its ok when not already owning a pet for treasure hunting. treasure hunt : best option to earn gold. Grey maps are not possible to solo with plate & bow, because the fat soldier is regenerating before you can kill him. Pet will do the job, Ostrich or wolf will do grey maps just fine, even without natures touch. Bear is overkill and can also do green maps. Best if you hoard a lot of maps for the same island, about 200 gold for a map during the 2x weekends.

Spent the last 24 hours getting a wolf pup to 50%. Had it stable for 12 hours using a single grill and LOADS of food nearby. Up and randomly died at 53%. Yaaaaaaay. I assume it died from too much heat? I don't know, there's zero goddamn feedback in the logs. Wasn't even a heatwave or any weird weather.

Breeding carnivores requires too much maintenance, due to low meat stack count in feeding troughs. If we could get the stack count increased to 100, so it matches berries and vegetables that would solve the issue. Or let carnivores eat cooked meat, that has higher spoil timers. Just had 2 baby lions and a wolf die after refilling 5 feeding troughs with full meat before I went to sleep. They died after 5.5 hours due to spoiled meat. Unless it suppose to be this time consuming, I doubt it. I can raise 20 baby bears at a time, and sleep for 8 hours with the 100 stack support for vegetables. Thanks!

Your nerfs to the firearms was UNWANTED unneeded and UNDESIRED. Guns are utterly USELESS now in PVE. they are so expensive so late in the game and they are literal TRASH. I want to play a pirate game to feel like a damn pirate! not use a god damn bow and freaking arrow! this is not ARK this is not the stone age! we do not want to run around with bows and arrows! we want flintlocks and black powder and guns! cannons! BOOM! that kind of thing what in the hell did you devs do to the guns!? Bows get skills that can up their damage by 60%!!! guns have no skills that up their damage ?! o.0 Bows hit three times harder than guns and reload 3 times faster than guns when fully skilled what the hell did you do devs?! and with fire arrows they hit way harder! Bows were supplanted by guns fucking centuries ago! we should not be running around with them in late game or even mid game!? Guns can't even hurt the damned?! it's use a bear or fire arrows or doesn't fucking bother hunting for treasure. FIX YOUR FIRE ARMS. Rebuff them right now! leave them alone! if you can not kill a god damn level 1 wolf in a single shot with a late game carbine?! you have fucked up your game design and need to retry.
