  1. This may be me neighbors! They be going for Kraken this coming Saturday. Grey Wolf I think? We plan to join in the fun! Great guys. aka Can Abyss
  2. They are simply copying real life, Clipper Ships were the fastest thing on the seas. The bigger the sail boat, the faster it goes. It is called "Hull Speed" and is the result of hull length and width mostly and is also the result of wave size and water displacement. Even today a 50' sailboat will go faster than a 40' sailboat, all other thins being equal.
  3. I think many people will leave the game if they can't claim an Island. I doubt very much I will continue to play if I can't claim a peace of land. We are a small group and spent half a day doing treasure maps to get gold for an Island, set our claim flag, and with just 20 minutes to go it canceled and we lost our gold. We really had no idea someone else had started a claim there, the flag message only told us we were contesting after we set our flag and lost all of our gold. We do not need an entire Island, we would be happy with a piece the size of maybe 3 of the old claims. We played NA PVE, which they did away with for 2 weeks, we are playing now on the NA not full PVP. We will try to get an Island when NA-PVE comes online, but if we can't get an Island I will most likely quit. I really enjoy this game, but I own my own home IRL and have no desire to pay rent in a game I paid the same money for as my landlord. IRL if you want to be a Landlord you have to pay out big to own the place you are renting out, here you pay the same as the homeless. And what is making it much worse now is the fact that when we do a treasure map, 50% of the gold is going to the owner of the Island. Can you imagine a real life Pirate paying taxes every time they dug up treasure? What a crazy notion.
  4. so do we keep the bata or set our atlas account back to the norm?
  5. has the DL started for anyone? im still 24.0
  6. We killed a Hydra yesterday, something we would not have attempted if it were not for the wipe. We did try it once before and decided it was a waste of resources, with no worry of saying resources for "later" we went for it and did it. 3 guys, 6 guns, 600 bullets = 1 dead hydra We got lucky in that he was near shore between two cliffs we were able to climb and catch him in a crossfire. Was a good time except when two Chinese blocked the cave to the turn-in place and got one of us killed and stole his turn-in.
  7. From your keyboard to the Dev's eyes I hope!
  8. Why don't they add PVP and PVE Asian servers? Move all Asian IP accounts to them and free up tons of land and solve tons of grief?
  9. I have lost so many tames in the past week due to them sinking into the floor of my schooner it is getting crazy. Then when I free them they just vanish, so not only do I have to replace the deck panels I destroyed to free my Bear, but I lose the Bear! Please fix this, taming new bears two and three times a day is getting very old!
  10. The only way I see for them to fix this is to add more servers, starting with one for PVP and one for PVE for China, maybe even two for them. And then force all China players to move to those new servers. To me it seems like a simple fix, but I am no internet, mmo game guru.
  11. It is always about money, no company will continue a none profitable project, lets do the math: 40,000 per server x 4 servers ( 2 PVP and 2 PVE ) = 160,000 players 160,000 players x $30 each = $4,800,000 4.8 million dollars is not even close to enough to cover costs and profits, not even close. Remember $30 gets you this game for life, no more revenue. OK so some will say each zone of the game is a server, A to O x 15 = 15 x 15 = 225 "servers", but for this to work each zone would to house 40,000 players, get real, 150 is too many, can you imagine 40,000 players in f7 or any other zone? LOL So do they care they are chasing people to the delete key? No, they need paid customers to quit to make room for new subscriptions. This is of course just IMO. I hope I'm wrong, I love this game. I have been playing since day one and have faced all the same problems as everyone else, I hope I am wrong and they will make this game better, not worse.

  13. Ya, the game at this point has so many issues it is very hard to have fun, just when you think you have accomplished something great it is gone. Parked my sloop near shore, anchored an taking no damage, ate supper to log back in and find my ship no longer resisters in my atlas. I was camped at our base so I know I did't aggro anything, my best guess is hostile natives sunk it to loot my storage boxes and just be a holes. Parts of this game I really like and parts of it I hate, not sure how much longer I ill play. It almost seems like they are trying to drive people to quit because they have an over crowed game, with no land for most with too many people fighting over too little everything.
