  1. What's going on? Still no announcement...did they just leave the sinking ship or are they still on holidays drinking cocktails and laughing their asses off about the community? What's wrong with those devs? It's a fucking joke...
  2. this shows once more u have your priorities set so wrong its starting to look like a benny hill show., keep this up and u'll loose whatever player base u have left faster then the previous incompetent devteam. it also shows again that u have no clue about your own game because u don't play it yourself. - fix your garbage servers, your game lives or dies with solid foundations, one of those foundations is are stable servers that doesn't become unplayable the moment it crosses 50 players. y're pushing sea play yet u cant even do sea play properly because of your garbage servers. - fix the SOTD (no explanation needed) if u do see the tip at the bottom. - Clean up lawless, allowing people to build sky scrapping pyramids or walls that donald trump even can dream off is what makes it impossible for even xbox players to login on there own base is a joke. (PvE C7 f.e) -U decided to reduce the map to 11x11 and put NA and EU together for , (whoever came up with that one should be fired on the spot) at least put a limit on islands owned per company to 1 so more people have a chance on there own island and not forced to live on lawless wich is resulting in lawless being unplayable and a mess. having 1 island per company is more then enough. if they need resources or anything from other biomes they can sail for it, helps achieve your agenda for more seaplay aswell - fix your farmhouses/warehouses, even tho its ecstatically pleasing to look at they really don't do/add much other then being used as a griefing tool on pve. for island owners they only should be placable by themselves or allies., for lawless limit it to 2 per company. best is to get rid of both at all cuz they don't add anything to the game. - lit a fire up those behinds who are your so called support ticket team, reports being closed instantly with solved without even being looked at is a joke. remember, those reports are for u to make the game better! -stop adding new stuff and fix the tons of issues first. with every update u do u breaking the game even more. - tip: make a character and start playing the game so u get a feel about whats wrong with your own game.
  3. PvP has combat timers. The island owner sets a 9 hour combat window. So the island is in peace phase for 15 hours, then combat for 9 hours. what usually happens is you chose an island to become a tenant on based on their combat timer. Then you join the island alliance. So your ships and defences don’t kill the other occupants and vice versa. When you get attacked or anyone from the alliance gets attacked you help each other. A lot of times the landowner helps also. But occasionally the landowner doesn’t because they have to remain neutral against some groups. It’s very political in PVP. Do wrong to the wrong company and SHTF very quickly. Also you’re not always being attacked by the group who is attacking because they are carrying out a ‘Hit’. They are being paid to raid you. Like I said. Political. Very yawn. And so petty. Lawless is 24/7 PvP with no safety net other than Freeport’s. but some megas live in Freeport’s also so can’t be touched. Freeport living needs to be removed and lawless. PvP is more of a mess than PVE. And is played backwards. Those who want PvP should be on lawless and those smaller groups who need protection because of life, work and family commitments should be on private islands.
  4. I started playing ATLAS about 2 weeks ago. When I try to look at the wiki or any form of context that relates to islands and the map, I always end up getting wrong information. I joined in on the [PvE] The Whale's Solitude official server and it only has a map grid of A1 - D4. I know that a regular map goes up to K11. I don't want to lose the progress I made on this character but there isn't a forum on this type of map. Is there any way I can get information on this map or know how to migrate my character to another server? Any and all help is welcomed.
  5. Oh and just one more thing I forgot to add. It's about PVE battles SOLO, and also SOLO ship controls during those battles. 51 - Sails control improvement. Right now boat control made totally wrong. When you make a french louvers stern with shotgun and kitting damned ship straight - all fine. When you do battle like I do with my battle Brig, board-side fight - all wrong. It's every second matters, to approach, to shoot, to go "bow like" departure. You need to raise/low your sails a lot, you need to turn your sails alot, you need to turn your boat - alot. And do it all together. Which you can't do. You also can not tell - how many % you sail raised, especially with junk sail cosmetic. So... well what I would love to see is some addition sail controls with hot keys and HuD shows numbers. Let them be FOR EXAMPLE "ctrl+" keys. Ctrl+W - raise your sail by 33%. (so one push will be 33%, second one 67%, third one 100%) Ctrl+S - lower your sail by 33% Ctrl+A/D - turn your sails left/right to -75 / -38 / 0 / 38 / 75 degrees points. Oh and you know it was made this way in old Russian "Corsairs" game. Sails could be in 4 position. - Low state (0%). -- Approaching/Departuring mode (33%) - so you could not hit things while parking your ship. --- Battle mode (67%) - where MOST SHIP HANDLING comes in! ---- Cruise mode (100%) - less handling but most speed here. (oh and... well I personally would reassign current control to ctrl+ and this new one I mentioned above - would assign to WASD). p.s. - There were also voicelines in Corsairs. When you raised your sails you heard: - Raise the sails, yes captain! Same with lower sails and change ammo types. - Load barshots! Load buckshot! Load bombs! Load cannonballs!
  6. you do realise of course that even just playing the game gives devs all the data they need for how there numbers and systems work , bugs are reported either through the official reporting channels or via youtube videos that show exploits and more , the devs are screwing this game up not the players the few that remain are making good suggestions daily / weekly yet they are ignored in favour of the devs own vision about what the game needs, which is their choice as its their game, all the suggestions in the world will never change what the devs vision is for their game , if they get it wrong then they get it wrong and move onto the next project , the devs biggest mistake was thinking this game would work if they had the same systems in place as the very successful game ark ,taming and building and more taming, guess what ? they were wrong , players want less tames the devs add more , the players want crew to be more meaningful they add more tames , the players want more ship types they add more tames , the players wanted aggro range on wildlife reduced the devs removed the wildlife to the point that there are no land based dangers, ,see the pattern here, the answer is players suggestion are ignored everytime ,

  8. Holy shit seriously.. you've cleared all the input keys.. and now my brand new ship just sank.. so now I'm stuck inside a sinking ship, with all the wrong keys setup.. Nothing apparently wrong with the ship, no busted planks nothing, it's just not a ship anymore.. all mastercraft.. full stocked and loaded. And the diving mask cosmetic is broken as well. Ship was under half max weight when it sank. There's just no reason or explaination that I can think of that caused this from the games side. Fortunately, it's only a schooner.. a very expensive one tho.
  9. New stuff sounded interesting, so I thought I'd check it out. But they've introduced so many new bugs to things that were working that I'm quitting again after only 3 days. Beds are messed up: You have to search for a name of the bed and then hope that you can click on the bed to respawn instead of choosing beds normally Taming is messed up: Even with tier 3 taming, you can't bola tigers (who knows about some of the other, only tested with tigers) Farming is in a bad place: Unless the resource map is wrong, chili seeds and wheat seeds do not exist in the wild. And unless there is something that I'm missing, you can't get back to rookie cove for the freeport seed seller, and the freeports in the other areas (at least the one in D6) don't have seed sellers in them. Portals are messed up: Almost lost 6 of my 8 crew that I was transporting because they all spawned off the boat and were getting eaten by the shark sitting right there Troughs are messed up: They don't exist as far as I can tell (searching for what skill teaches them through searching the item crashes your game) That's just the stuff that I found in just a few hours of playing. Who knows what other stuff that was working is broken, and what new bugs they introduced?
  10. There is nothing at all wrong with that type of thinking!!!! The thinking that there is something wrong with it and the only correct type of thinking is utopian communism is the Problem... If you want a Utopian Communist style group then you get like minded people together and make it so... But for use that Want OUR OWN elephant and ship and house seperate from our guild then there is nothing wrong with that if the guild has a like mind..... Lets not limit the style of play lets provide the tools to allow all styles of play!
  11. First if your a practicing legal professional then you intentionally swerved from the "free fruit" scenario to a "island BP discussion so you wouldn't have to admit your wrong lol. Boo Epipilepsy, graphic and obscene warnings probably evolved from a series both civil and criminal complaints..... correct? Your defense regarding this games issues is a warning "sticker" & disclaimer Lets extrapolate this into a real wold scenario.. Lets have a buddy of yours write me up a sticker and disclaimer stating "i will take a shit on the desk of any double talking industry insider that doesnt appropriately address my concerns".. Or are those disclaimers only for companies?... My point being,.. That every law, warning and etc needs scrutiny from time to time to ensure its still reasonable and not being abused. During your self promotional rant you missed my point entirely. PRIORITIZE FIXING THIS PROBLEM. Just because your peers scoff at it doesnt render it invalid. FURTHERMORE THE DEVs actively encourage feedback. Read thier posts... Expressing my frustration and concern wasnt a threat, it was friendly advice that theyre getting into a grey area. Like warning a drunk friend not to drive... You embarass yourself with youyr inconsistencies. Go write a 200 page contradiction filled human resources memo plz Regarding your obssessive request fot "civil tort"... For years in our it county it was perfectly legal to burn a woman at the stake based on testimony from just 3 witnesses...   12. RedBeard, i am afraid that you are aiming in the wrong direction again, just like all of the other 5000 Grapeshot devs before you. No, we dont need more content, we need the current content working. No, we dont need buffing the zerg conpanys. We need buffing the solos and small groups, who are the majority of the players. You could start by removing the claim towers, which finally have driven me and all of my friends from the game. Please remove the fountain of youth, as it is no fun. Remove the Kraken quest to unlock game content like subs and torpedos. Remove the max level penalty for players not willing (or not able due to company size) to travel and do the stones quest. Please strengthen defence and nerf offense. Just now it does not matter if you have 100 stone walls around your ships and treasure or not. If you refuse to do this small companys will stay to be cannon fodder for the zergs, just like it is now. No, we dont need modular ships. Modular ships have driven the creative players away from Atlas. Your plans for the future will, once again, strengthen the weaknesses of ATLAS and nerf its strong parts. We dont need stupid zombie voodoo temples, we just need a pure working pirate game. Of course you will not listen to me, as devs never do, i loved the original game, at the moment it is „way to much of nothing“. I certainly will return if i see a perspective to survive in ATLAS in the patch notes, which is currently not the case at all.
  13. My list of horrible PVP games 1. The Atlas! (all what can be wrong is worng here) 2. Dark and Light (Really bad Ark copy) 3. Ark (only way to play are private servers or singleplayer) 4. Ark II (im sure it will be bad as Ark 1, only visual side can be little better cause unreal engine 5) And my list of good PVP games 1. WOW 2. Lineage II (this old game had karma based system, so more friendly you killed more karma you got so in end sity guards and all turned against you.) 3. ArcheAge (So this is game atlas must learn how to manage PVP so that all would be happy) 4. Runescape 5. No man sky (i guess i'm only one who liked pvp there :D) Atlas, Ark & Dark and Light are like same and looks like that Dark and light company is also wildcard's failed miracle project. So my good pvp list is really long, but i added games what are little bit similars with atlas. So cause PVP is BS in this game i like PVE and PVE can be really good if they add more NPC's, mission's on land and sea but as we see they only add useless broken content here.
  14. Imagine if Atlas had the original player base it used to. Nobody would find anything. We would assume that Atlas' goal is to increase the player base so this is an inherent problem with their game design. It's these choices that lead them to inevitable failure. I almost think they need to give up the whole land claim domination/ hoarding game paradigm and just stick to being an exciting adventure pirate game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's what people are looking for when they buy this game. I know I am. When you think of exploring the seas and coming across islands, you wouldn't expect every single square foot of land being overpopulated. If I wanted that I can just look at real life. It would be more exciting to find deserted islands instead. Assuming that they changed directions and wanted to forgo the world domination aspect, maybe they should simply allow one base per cell per company? Even still I think that wouldn't be enough to free up space for new players. They need to have room for new players to settle, and they shouldn't have to travel for hours real time in their shitty ramshackle sloops to find it.
  15. I actually agree with most of what you said. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying the claim system is the entire reason for numbers dropping. There were a lot of factors like the launch as you said that was responsible for the first drop in players. I am just saying that the claim system and upkeep is the reason for this batch of drop. i also don’t think that I have the one absolute right decision. The thing is the devs should actually know what will raise numbers because they do have ark to use as a reference. Even though ark left a bad taste for some they still have been able to maintain steady numbers which means something went right throughout all of the wrong. for instance, small company/tribe servers were very welcomed in ark and we have already seen a lot of people want them. It raised numbers in ark and I am sure it would raise numbers in atlas. This specific point is where I am saying not to listen to current players. Big companies or Megas don’t want that to happen because they know nobody wants to play with them so they will have to break up even more. So what? I would bet money if they made a small company server and didn’t have claims they would have a good sized increase and it would be the most populated of the clusters. these devs make wrong decisions but they do know how to hook players on again. Different map=increase, more tames=increase, small company=increase. You are right that because of ark they have a bad rep, but it was because of ark that they have the money for this game. Why abandon something that is clearly a better design. Who knows I might not be right but I guarantee it will end up better than what they are doing now.
  16. The biggest time sink in game atm is hands down the breeding!! Stop wasting our time with "farmhouses" and start actually getting us off the land and onto the Seas! You Devs should reduce breeding times by 1/2. Do that.....and then you can work on other stuff. But before you even do that......you should fix all the bugs you recreated from Season 1. Give us back our 6 resources for each material....cuz atm....we are missing 1-2 mats from each resource. The farmhouse is nothing more than a glorious claim FLAG!.....We already have a resource pool! Also stop lying too the community too get them back playing the game! You said a "New World (order) map! You said Tradewind routes! Sofar we've seen none of that! You also need too fire that Admin running your Discord! We are testers in your game! When we find things missing/labeled wrong/or bugs/game breaking stuff( not having all 6 of the resources for mythic mats)....we are required too report them! But every time someone does....that Admin deletes the post and most likely does not report the bug/problem to the Dev Team! Saying we need more info! With the old Dev Team...we had a "fix" almost everyday!! This team has only done 2 fixs so far in the first week....first fix worked.....2nd fix was about the resources FAILED miserably! And so far that is it! No more fixes! What are you guys doing over there! If you have a job.....DO IT! Don't 1/2 ass it like you are doing now! I love this game....I would hate too see Devs ruin it! And PLZ for the love of god!, start listening too the player community for once! I have seen GENIUS ideas posted about game mechanics and such! But you just keep steering the game in the opposite direction! Down the drain! What do you all think guys?? I mean am I wrong??? I don't think so
  17. Only point I see as valid is there needs to be some weapon balancing. If virtually everyone worth their salt is using mace and shield, obviously there's something wrong with the viability of other weapon setups.
  18. Ok, you seem not to have understood what is wrong with the game, even in the latest Redbeard Patch from tomorrow. So i explain it in very easy words : a) player is building ships, bases and shipyards over several month b) naked Beach Bob troll with a claim tower is passing by while the player sleeps/works c) game over Anything about that somehow is not fully clear and obvious to anybody ? P.S. If you suggest that working/real life sucks : I agree
  19. They hand picked the questions to answer in the Q & A and only answered 3, just when you think t hey couldn't stoop any lower they go and break the record. Here is a question about PvP server. I'm reading between the lines and could be completely wrong but with opt in conflict why would they need a PvE server when you can go about your business with opt out? With them saying "we are breaking PvE away into something else" I'm betting on them putting everyone on PvP server so you opt in/out of PvP. I say again, I could be completely wrong but they certainly don't give me the motivation to play with these stupid answers. I bet someone posted a question "are you removing PvE servers in the future?" and they said to themselves, na we won't answer that, next question. Question: I guess my main question would be about new PVP official servers. When you claim an island, is it safe for you or is it possible to be raided? I don't mind PVP at sea, but base raids suck. Just curious. Thanks. Answer: Atlas is intended to be a game about pirates, and while our land-based combat is deep and rich, the new energy behind Atlas is to bring that depth and richness to sea as well. More interesting interactions with the oceans and ships is where we are pointed and we'll be making a host of changes to drive more player energy in that direction. Look for our future development to lean towards creating opportunities for greater rewards and higher risks on the water with more opportunities for opt-in conflict.

  21. Ah, sorry - I just found your question today. Here are the answers: 1) Place for maps: I know of no better place to get a map. I created my own 4x4, using the ServerGridEditor. That is fun - except that there is no official documentation about resources. And Grapeshot changed the resources in the latest patch. That means all resource lists that the player community made were voided by Grapeshot. (Question: How are people called who do something like this to their community? And without displaying any sort of sympathy even?) 2) Freeports: First make a copy of your ServerGrid.json (or whatever your map is called) and save it under a different name. So you have a backup in case something goes wrong. Now open your ServerGrid.json (or whatever your map is called) in the ServerGridEditor. On the right is the list of all available islands. You can recognize the freeport islands by their ending: ..._E (not EE). Now place new freeports on the map on your home server grid. If you want them to be in the exact same map spot as the old freeport islands that Grapeshot removed, do the following: a) open your old, unedited map in the ServerGridEditor (using the old islands.json !! -not the new one that they provided us the download link for when 406.7 hit) and look in the island list to the right, write down which freeports you had - you see that by their ending _E. (Example: One of the freeports I had was the island with the giant skull that they removed. I see on the map in the ServerGridEditor that it was called: Cay_H_WR_E). b) now open the ServerGrid.json (or what your map is called) in the windows editor (or any other text editor), use the search function to find your old freeport island in the .json, look for its coordinates. (Example: I search for Cay_H_WR_E in the text editor and find it. Now I scroll down until I see 'worldx', 'worldy' and 'rotation for that island. I copy these 3 lines.) c) now put the new islands.json that they gave us the download link for with 406.7 into the folder 'data' in your servergrideditor directory (save the old island.json under a different name first in case you need it again). Then add your new freeport island to your home server (must be the same grid server as the old map of course) in the ServerGridEditor. Save map. d) and then open the edited ServerGrid.json (or what your map is called) in a text editor, search for your new freeport island's name, again scroll down to 'worldx' etc, then replace worldx, worldy and rotation with the data from your old island. Save. e) open the servergrid.json again in the ServerGridEditor and look at the map to make sure the island is still there and now in the same location as the old one. Save. Now you can run your map again with the changed freeport in the same location. Warning concerning buildings: If you had buildings and flags on the old island then remove those before you swap out the islands. That's because the new island may have another shape or - even if it has the same shape - have other stuff on it (rocks, mountains) and in different places. So the old buildings risk being in the wrong places for the new island and maybe mess up your database. Remove them first. Better safe than sorry.
  22. What do you mean by the "old dev company"? Are you referring to Studio Wildcard? If so, I felt that the development of Ark was "smooth sailing" compared to Atlas. As for being corrupt, I"m not sure what specific point you're drawing upon. I don't think I'm cynical enough to think Grapeshot is corrupt, but lacks proper direction, leadership and at the risk of sounding harsh, competence. I think they went into this with lofty goals and good intentions, but continue to prioritize incorrectly and make bad decisions. I hope that I'm wrong and they pull an awesome game out of all this.
  23. Hello, First off please forgive me if this is in the wrong area, I am very new to the game and forums. I have a dedicated server for myself and 2 friends through the GTX Gaming host . For some reason we are stuck in A1 with red almost fire like borders stopping us from travelling to the next region, does anyone know how to fix this? I also tried to make taming faster but there was no option to? I tried contacting the site's help but they were very vague which makes things pretty hard for someone who is very new to it all. Thank you in advance.
  24. Removing the grind from discoveries is ok but removing most discoveries is just wrong. Some People liked it and the game lacks content anyway it should have stayed atleast optional to go and explore them and have something unique to come across from time to time. Removing the old map completly for no apparent reason instead of leaving it as an optional map for private server/sessions is also just wrong again there are people that liked traveling and exploring on the old map or it setup with multiple hotspots that allowed a more cooperative playstyle. There are no fixes for the issues of the game. Atlas lost a lot of players as in it current state it is not fit for high player density and the playerbase stabilizes only at a low number. A smaller map with only 4 freeports around 1 hotspot means in the long term the new map will hold a lot less players than the old map did. The official server will turn out more like an ark server with 2 or 3 rather small groups that actually own the server and not allow others on it. I hope you got a good plan how to fix this, but i would suggest to not keep it secret and talk with the community. A lot of feedback can be gathered before putting all the work into it.
  25. I decided to jump on and give it ago on PvE, got to a big island on lawless and the spam already is unbelievable. Could not even put a shipyard down, sailed around and all blocked. I just don't know if I have the motivation anymore to sail island to island. Soon as I entered the grid chat comes up with "why are you blocking my path?" "it's not your path, we build where we want" "why do you have to spam like this?" it was all just deja vu for me. I think with them forcing NA onto a smaller map with EU is just going to get worse, I hope I'm wrong but from what I seen I'm not hopeful. They did say it would bring more conflict and battles, not wrong there.
