  1. I'd rather see more variety in the storms. Light rain. Heavy rain. Intense wind. Hell. Make some even do sail damage if it's too intense? There are so many options they could go with if they wanted. Make lightning an actual thing too? As I said, there's a lot of variety. Hopefully, it's on the agenda, but part of me worries it may not be and instead turns into more of a what mega clan can demolish the other rather than enhancing the core experience where weather and other things should certainly matter.
  2. u made the walls less durable and pushed the materials to craft them. in Addition still no legal method to Transport heavy loads like the required metal ^^ gj sounds like a really nice game. to be honest....... thinking about to Switch to another game
  3. organic paste is at least not heavy and u can transport a lot of it. what about the islands which have no pure metal nodes???

Which is fine if your working somewhere consistently like your base (I actually have several set up there) or are high enough level to have specced into wood/stone (not everyone has) but if you're just visiting an isle to look for whether it has a new type (straw, jute, fronds) you can't exactly carry a full pen plus fires and wood for when you run into an alpha especially if it's a resource like gems or crystal or stone that are heavy. Before if you survived the initial attack you could scramble up high and either kill/drive it off now best you can hope for is to kite it away with regular feedings of your body. Passive ones aren't so bad if you take a little care but aggressive ones like snakes, tigers, crocks can make an area a no go area till they despawn or you waste time trying to build a short term pen for them. Which doesn't even address the issue of multiple alphas which happens a lot or them ignoring you to attack your base as has happened to me even with normal animals like a wolf I killed while it completely ignored my filling it with arrows so it could eat my water barrel instead.
  5. I have been trying to tame them all day on NA pvp server and all it says is its too heavy to bola. I've tried many different levels and male and female but nothing works. tried as low as level 3s and getting them super low hp but nothing seems to work. I am convinced these are not tamable on official servers.

Not everyone is able to log in to the game at any time due to things like family or work especially in a smaller company and really where is the challenge in your raiding their "weak islands" and destroying everything they've worked to build up when they aren't around to protect it? As for PVE in this game people seem to view it as PVP with the challenge of not being able to directly target their opponent which results in things like them waddling onto ships loaded down with things to sink them or when that was fixed steering rafts into docks to render them unuseable. Which doesn't address the fact that changes to "balance" pvp also affect PVE with things like alpha's being currently all but invinceable to a player who doesn't have a combat heavy specialisation investing a lot of skill points to deal with them. The best way currently to avoid PVP if you aren't interested in having to rebuild your stuff every few day's is to either join a massive company that as you say has people online 24/7 usually with resulting restrictions on how you play or to go to an unnoficial server with associated costs in running and given the set up of the game not having access to everything because you can't afford to run a 250+ server game.
  7. Has anyone tried taming any of the shieldhorns/razertooths @ H6? I could not bola any of them with my crew mate. The game stated that "they are too heavy to entrap" but yesterday we was able to bola AND tame a shieldhorn AND Razortooth (got cucked by the game, razortooth asked for "meat") on C6. So, I'm confused whether it's only allowed on specific powerstone islands that allow taming or if it just bugged the hell out for me and my crew. Yes, we have tamed Shieldhorn.
  8. I'm getting there... What I see as the downside is that this game forces you to do large amounts of things you have no interest in doing, to be able to do the things you are interested in doing. And in the end, those things you are forced to do are getting heavy. First, cyclones... I'm sick of them. They are not interesting. They are not fun. Once you have seen 10 of them. They are something that stops you from playing the game and forces you to waste your time until they stop. And this happens what? Three times an hour while on the water? It would be different if they popped up once a week. Three times an hour is a total waste of time! Food decay... I want to log on and jump on my boat just say, but no. You have to go kill and animal, then go get a fish. Then start cooking them while you go and harvest two types of food plants. By that point you have already wasted 30 minutes of your game time, just because most of your food from yesterday is gone. I think food decay rates should be days, not minutes. Sotd… It takes 30 minutes to cross a grid, ok I understand this, in context it works. But why can't you see the Sotd ships miles off? As you would see a ship at sea. 30 minutes of open travel and you can't even go get a drink without these spawning in a way at causes you to react right then to avoid them... or you lose everything. If I could take a good look and know, ok I have 2 or 3 minutes that I can get out of my chair safely, it would be far more workable. For the amount of time it takes to get anywhere insta spawns do not work. As far as the bugs and lag go... I've done alphas, betas and early access games for 15 years. As interesting as this game is, I would say it's still in beta. You paid $25 to beta test a game that was called early access to be able to sell it. At this point many core issues like claiming land has not even been worked out yet. Most games only get one big chance at opening, doing it before its ready often spells long term trouble. Over all, it has some fun things about it and could be good if they get some of the big issues resolved quickly.
  9. The fix is not more code. The fix is listing things as being an act of griefing, and making this a TOS that you have to accept each time you log in. This would list things such as sinking another player's ship using crew or weight to do so. Placing pillars to destroy other people's ships. Using your ship to block access. Etc. Then, they start publicly banning people for these actions. Once word gets out that they are banning people for these things, they will stop doing them. I don't understand why this is a tough concept to understand. People do what they can get away with, and stop doing what gets them in trouble. I went back to college several years ago. I had professors deal with tardiness in many different ways. One, literally did nothing if you showed up late. Consequently, people showed up late all the time. On the other hand, one professor would lock the door when class was to start. The start time was 2:00, so she would show up about 5 minutes before that. Everyone was standing outside waiting to get in. When the clock struck 2:00, she locked the door. You could leave, but not enter. What this showed with clarity is that if there are no consequences for bad behavior people will act poorly...selfishly. Yes, it was very disruptive in that class when every 5 minutes throughout the 4 hour class, people decided to show up. But in the class where you were locked out for being late, the class was better...no disruptions. But the lesson there is that because there were heavy consequences for showing up late, people did not show up late. If you missed too many classes, you were dropped. The same thing here. If the Devs do not punish bad behavior, there is no incentive to stop. So long as there are no bans for sinking somebody's ship in PvE, these people will always look for ways to do it. And so the Devs will have to constantly find ways to defeat them, without causing problems with the other game play aspects.

Can we get some type of Large/XL sea walls? some of the best islands to get stuff or build on does not have any real great spots to part your ships like the brig for a example. so can we get some type of a Sea structure that we can build. like make it long as the large ship yard. and it has to be place on water like the large shipyard. snap-able and snap angles like with the S+. and a Sea gate. and maybe a sea tower. i think it would be a great thing in balancing the land vs sea pvp because atm sea is way more powerful then land defense seeing that Heavy cannons out rang everything.
  11. is it possible to tame a high lvl lion or wolf there? tryed it but wolf i cant feed after bola and lion it say to heavy to bola.

I live in one of the regons you was talking about and yes whales and sotd's do sit heavy at borders as that is where they are lost and you are right about the 1 and 15 polar regions having mass amounts in them because they are very unpopulated . My region I think I have seen 11 on at one time only because there ws a group looking for whales , the norm is 1-3 of us in the zone at peak times . sotd are everywhere and ive seen as many as 3 whales at once .

Yeah, before today we didnt like taking our bear out for anything but gathering fiber due to fear of alphas, but after the fire arrow nerf we were looking for a better way to run maps and someone in our square mentioned that the bear was great at taking out army of the damned so we took a chance and it worked great, plus a bear is a great way to get heavy gold back to the ship. After 3 maps we had enough gold for a months salary for the 3 npc we keep full time
  14. The gold does weigh to much. A group of mine went on an exploration for Treasure Hunting and 14,803 gold weighs 5912.2 kg. My concern for this is we are half way across the map from our home island and this was only a couple of treasure maps (16+ Quality). It took almost 4 hours to sail in a straight line to get to the first one and in 1 hour of hunting treasure our 20,000 Brig is almost overflowing and slow. Why is these coins so heavy when it takes so much for the cost of crew, cosmetics and even way more in the coming patches with Player Owned shops? This needs to be adjusted.

So, I was looking through the game files and I found this:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Content\steampunk_packIn there were assets for steampunky stuff, which I liked, BUT........Please tell me devs, you're not thinking about putting in airships, are you? That would quite literally destroy the game unless done with the mentality that they couldn't be armed and only used for transports. Even then a heavy crew with oil jars would wreck anything they came across and barely be able to be touched with conventional arms in game atm. As a counter, or just a general suggestion, do steampunk submarines instead and give us underwater stuff to play with. It's a sea based game. Use it to the utmost you can. Let us build underwater bases, fight sea monsters, PvP seek and destroy, etc. Make it so they have to come up for air and refill tanks periodically so they won't be underwater forever. Make primitive torpedos that can be fired in pairs only. Give it a parascope. Give us a steampunk radar to find them and to navigate underwater. This would be far better than airships that PvPers would potentially overarm and rain fire down on anything that moves with little to no real chance to counter attack. Js, my opinion and I'd hope others would feel likewise. Community, comment on what you'd rather have and why.   17. I get nerfing tames to be more game balanced. However, you guys are taking it beyond reasoning. You keep reducing the base stats of tames to the point there is no reason to tame because the base lvls of a lvl 30 can only have around 300-500 base health. How do you expect creatures to live if the mount and player get jumped by a pack which naturally spawn? I rarely see one of any creature besides snakes running around alone. You are literally screwing tamers and breeders over so hard. If you are going to keep nerfing tames like this then either get rid of the Alpha creatures or NERF THEM! On top of this you made elephants no longer have a weight reduction for wood, a heavy material they are SUPPOSED to gather. I dreamed and hoped for the day you would have the Rhino reduce the weight of stone, but you killed that too. This all leads to the question of, what are the point of tames at this point? Either make taming useful and worth the points to fully invest into or don't have it in the game. You'll crush a lot of people who love the taming aspect and who love animals, but repeatedly nerfing tames to the point they are pets in the base that never leave is even more of a let down than just not having it in the game. What is the point of taming devs?

First time suggesting ideas on here, but I had a couple things come into mind in the past few days of playing that I thought would be good to post. 1) Animal corpses or entrails as 'wards' around bases. If you've played The Forest you've probably encountered a similar concept. In that game, you can build effigies that keep the cannibals away from camp. My idea would be that you can kill predators (or prey, really) and use their corpses or entrails to make a ward (spike in the ground or a box on the ground, whatever) that wards off that type of creature, in a radius, for an amount of time. It prevents us from having to use turrets to defend our bases and harvesting areas, but still encourages us to go out and kill things on occasion to refuel the wards. To prevent players from placing wards all over an entire island and completely destroying all spawns, they could be limited to placement within a certain foundation range or only placeable on walls or foundations. 2) Further refining resources to get more benefit. As an example I'll use wood, but this can be used for most of the primary resources (thatch, wood, stone, fiber, metal). For wood, you could add a sawmill structure down in the construction tree. You can still harvest wood with a regular hatchet and get a modest amount, or you could use a logging saw. The logging saw would add an extremely heavy single piece of lumber (basically the whole tree) that you have to haul back to your base. Once it's back, you can process the lumber in a sawmill, which would give you more wood than you would have gotten with the hatchet. It requires more steps and more work, but in the end you get more benefit. For thatch you could use the sawmill as well, fiber could be processed in a cotton gin or similar, and metal could be refined in a blast furnace or something. This would also enable bulls, cows, and horses to have more uses. There could be a lumber saddle that lets you drag logs behind, greatly reducing the weight of the large trees but only letting you drag one at a time. This ties into the resource weight reduction issue we're having right now. I think most of us would be fine with no weight reduction provided there were ways to increase the amount we gather or reduce the time needed to gather resources. As a survival game I understand that gathering is necessary, but as time goes on, like in Ark, you should be given more ways to gather resources and gather them more efficiently. It's a natural power progression for humans to develop ways of doing things easier. By the time we're sailing on galleons and brigantines, we would have logically developed ways of getting more resources for them besides simple hatchets.
  19. Can we at least get an alternative of some sort so we can carry a decent amount of material? Like some sort of cargo wagon or anything that can carry a decent amount of weight. Making it more and more difficult for the solo and small groups of players to gather materials. I run out get 500 on wood or stone and have to go straight back. At least with the elephant I could almost come back with 2000. I just don't understand all these weight nerfs and no other solution to carry heavy materials.

  24. Stupid feature just like the food system is right now. I dont think these guys get it. LIF game is not very popular, and the more you frustrate the players the more they will walk away. Not everyone is heavy into PVE game play. As far as i am concerned PVP should not be totally balanced out with PVE game play. We dont need to do massive mini quests inside of PVP like that. Its already bad these mini games inside things like reloading or looking for more water. Nobody cares for those features in pvp. 2nd of all fix the massive bugs first, like freezing to death and quick death system. The exploits are horrible, more you add to the game the more will just break it all.
