As you might have seen on the Live Map the Chinese Megatribe BLDX, which is a former ARK Tribe that ruined entire server clusters, is now invading the east and rapidly destroying and enslaving every empire in their path! We, The Alliance Of The Free People are calling for help to defeat them! Why do we want to defeat them? In our eyes, slavery should not be tolerated BLDX and other Chinese Megatribe will ruin the game as they did with ARK, PUBG, RING OF ELYSIUM, CONAN EXILES, etc. We tried to talk with them, they don't have any interests in diplomacy They attack neutral and friendly Companys that were willing to move out or make some kind of deal At the moment, they are way to strong for any one company to defeat them, the only way to actually hurt them, is to form an alliance! They will eventually get to almost every corner of the map, so let us defeat them now before they get too strong and are undefeatable! If you want to help us just comment under this threat! We will accept everyone who is willing to put down an actual fight! No matter what Company or country you are from! If you decide to join the cause!   2. I remember in ancient times, the romans said bahumbug when their engineers suggested building a frame that could hold a huge wooden log that would break down enemy gates with ease. The roman general scoffed at the engineers and said "HEY! you fucks! have you seen our shields?!?!?! we need no complicated machinery for we have a shield bash! That can break down any door and topple any stone!" and thus the shield was made into legend, a mythical weapon used to break down homes and castles. So, one of my guys is on Atlas playing today and I get a text that 8 people who live in freeport, sailed out on rafts with shields and raided through every door of our stone base with shields. Now, its not the devs fault, i'm sure. like with any pvp survival game, players are going to identify certain exploits of items to bash through anything they can. Rust had it, Conan had it, many more have had it and will have it in the future. The good thing, is that all those stupid, unrealistic, methods of raiding get fixed.
  3. First off, great job stabilizing the servers; Game looks beautiful and is running well, so thanks. I'm enjoying the game, but there is a glaring problem, extremely few sources of fresh water. I know we can dig for waterspouts to top off, but it is tedious and never lasts long. In addition, we can't use water spouts to irrigate crops (or fill waterskins?) making creating a home impossible if you don't snatch up a freshwater source, which by now there probably aren't many free ones thanks to mega companies. Rain collecting could be an answer if it ever rained. I've played for 29 hours now (granted a significant portion was battling the rough start of the game) and I've seen it rain once. I imagine the goal was to get people to focus on island hopping, and making water a valued resource fought over in PvP, but as it stands on a PvE server, the fresh water situation makes the grandiose map irrelevant since most of the islands are unlivable, shrinking viable play space to a fraction of what it looks like. I really like the game, and building my first ship with a friend was an amazing feeling, but now that we've gotten over that first hurdle, we're basically hitting a wall. I know the devs are up to their eyeballs in salt water (heh) from trying to get the servers working and assisting players with struggles (good job stepping up after the initial fiasco), but when you get around to making in-game changes, I'd really like to see this on the list, at least for PvE servers. I don't like pointing out problems without proposed solutions, so if any devs are reading this, I came up with a few vague ideas below. Water purification system (must be in sunlight | byproduct is salt | must be emptied regularly) 'paint' additional water sources on islands, particularly large ones that lack fresh water entirely Craftable wells (game implies a water table with the waterspouts as is, so why not tap into it with a well) that provide large amounts of water that drain/replenish over time Some kind of animal/plant that produces/purifies water (there are already dragons in the game so why not something mystical like that) 'Bear Grylls it' by purifying pirate 'liquid waste' If there actually is fresh water on most islands and folks are as blind as bats, craftable water diviners to help us find it Increase the frequency of rain NPC ports that sell barrels of fresh water for some kind of vaguely rare resource (fish meat *lol* | snake scales cause they can be dangerous) Cut into some of the massive mountains and make caves with underground lakes If other players are experiencing something similar please leave a comment to let the devs know its not an isolated thought. If I'm totally off-base and missing something, please let me know! And to any devs actually reading this post, keep calm and sail on, you're doing good and thanks for your hard work.   4. Purchased a 1x1 private server we've not edited the map in anyway, We finally set sail to find this row of npc ships blocking off most of the other islands. has anyone else seen this or know how to fix it? ?
  5. Just from what I've seen so far, which is 2 blocks north of free port, all islands along the line do not have any fiber. Ships that get out there can't build anything because of this.
  6. I like many others get timed out on the loading screen of this game even though far above the minimum pc requirements. I'm now sitting at 1.9 hours playtime from the menu screen and failed loading attempts. I haven't seen any communication from the development about an issue many people are having which is perhaps even more frustrating than not being able to play the game. I just want one worthwhile reason for why I shouldn't refund now. Why should I keep this game at this point?
  7. Hello, I was testing some stuff out on an abandoned raft near our base and found a method to sink others' ships in PVE. I have not tested it on any larger boats but I assume that it would be the same case with them. I've searched around a bit on the forum and haven't found a similar incident reported and I don't want to give information on it so that others could exploit (It's not ramming it with ships/collision or anything like that, I've seen those reports). If there's a better solution to posting here about it, someone let me know. Otherwise, I'd love to explain the steps taken in PM's to a dev or some private bug reporting method that I don't see anywhere listed here. Thanks and may you find the bountiful land of trees on your travels.
  8. Seems to be only if you have a structure on that territory. On our small island there are 8 companies already, I managed to put some flags down to preserve some resources... but since days now the island is barren.. I have not seen a tree in hours.. but still people are complaining about the flags and constantly contesting... I could remove them all and another 8 companies build here then there will be no resources ever... Not a fun situation...

  10. Seen a dolphin and a jellyfish but it does feel empty. Even the island feel lost and need some npc around. I'm not saying it should be easy to get gold but there should definitely be other means to get it. Though right now I don't know how to get. That should cater for both solo and large companies.

  12. Given the limited gameplay I'm allowed to have, I can tell you that my raft has decayed fully 6 times in the past few days. That's the knowledge I've learned from playing myself and watching it happen. As I'll shout what I've seen with my own eyes from my own gameplay each time. All within 6 hours. In either a port or on the coast of a island maybe 300 feet from shore with anchor down. And points into sturdiness. They may have changed it now but for the first 3 days that's how it was for me, So either I have / had a bug or glitch. Or that's how it is.
  13. I've always seen this as an issue in ARK, more so in ATLAS. Still of the mind that dying should take XP from progression to the next level. Not much but enough to care.
  14. Slow and steady I think is the way to go for now at least. Band together with some people, build up a bit, hide until you have some defensive abilities. These large companies going out claiming will be going through their own problems. They are casting the net wide but it will semi implode before they balance out. I’m basing this all from what I have seen from ark pvp. Even alphas are not alphas for ever!

I'll just list the issues we've noticed which I'm sure have been mentioned but just letting you know what we have seen on our end :) The Double Log-in- you try to load in, it takes ages then times out and when you try again it hits snapshot 16 then immediately loads in. Freeport Load-ins- when sailing into an area with a Freeport you get a giant wall of what looks like fire and the moment you enter it almost immediately sinks your ship. Resource Spawns- islands are bare, resources are not respawning. Beds Not Working- if you have a bed on your ship and you go near a claimed area or a lawless island and die you are unable to respawn on that bed. Ship Ladders- The ladder you apply to the ship needs to be easier to climb up (in my opinion) you spend too much time in the water trying to get that 'climb up' option. Mast Destroy Option- I honestly don't see a point of having a destroy option on the scroll for the masts, almost clicked it a few times when adjusting sails. Alpha Animals- I'm not sure why there are level 200+ alphas at the start of this game, it seems a little much. perhaps lower level alphas would be hard but not impossible. I think that's about it for me, loving the game so far it has many great aspects of it but some things that I think tweeking a little would be nice.
  16. Best advice, is do your best to get into a freeport server. 1.) Die 2.) Click change home map (or whatever it says as for changing home server) 3.) unclick the show atlas map button on the bottom left so you see an actual server list not the atlas map (makes this WAY easier) 4.) In search bar, type in free 5.) Sit there, refresh, try to join one that has an opening. 6.) If join fails/is full. Try again and again. 20-30 mins to maybe an hour to change into a freeport zone and actually be able to play orrrr..... rinse and repeat what you're currently doing. I'm in a freeport zone and have pistols made now. I take my time, sail out to a lawless to level/craft stuff we need to place down and then sail back in. Rafts are HELLA easy to get in freeports. FIRST ADMIN I'VE SEEN!!!! Thank you for replying to the post! Awesome, starting to see more and more from atlas staff. that's great!
  17. 43 hours here, and none seen either... sailed through about 6 chunks... passed or landed on a number of islands.... *shrug*
  18. I had thought that the initial intent was that each player would be able to place a single flag... placing a second would remove the first... from what I have seen, that is not the case. Multiple claims can be set per person (on PVE at least, this would seem to be problematic) which would end up leading to an Ark-like situation where one person could theoretically claim a massive chunk of land with no recourse for anyone to be able to take it from them.

I don't generally agree with the limit claims to 1-3 generally because a lot of newer players will build over resources that they don't know are there, this has been seen in Ark and games like this numerous times. And I think we can do a lot better than just adding arbitrary limitations where we can create a more complex system that allows for a much better interaction between companies. Solution C : Build out the alliance portion of the game so that deals can be made and flags can be made "claimable" so that land can be claimed and bases built without resources of an island being impacted. Add in the ability to negotiate tax on the already claimed land so that smaller groups can come and go from the farming area without having to lose all of their resources. This can obviously be built out more but since we are in EA why not try to get something better than "You can only have 1" and then everyone who ever sees the island you are on tries to have their 1 and then there are no resources to harvest anymore.
  20. You have been able to do that no matter how long the land has seen its owner. The only change is that they are reducing the time it takes to steal a flag from 1 hour and 40 minutes to 30 minutes per flag.

This port doesn't exist :3 There is no way to earn gold other than treasure chest, played 40H already ... 0 Treasure map, we are 5 to play this game, nobody of us found one (We explored separatly, but NOPE). Also, NPC trading ? Nope, that's not in the game neither (lol) NPC ships ? Didn't meet any of them, not even a damned ship we seen in the trailer or on stream.
  22. Hey, I have a bunch of questions about the game for which I would like to find answers before I try to figure out if this game could match my tastes or not. I realise that it might be too early to answers some of my questions but I've never heard of this game before a couple days ago so I don't know if maybe the devs have shared their plans for its future. I also might want to specify that I've never player Ark, but I know that some of the game mechanics were taken from it so if you want to make an educated guess on how something might work based on Ark, that could be helpful. 1 - Other than building placements, what are the claimed places used for ? What can / can't a player do in his / other people's claimed places ? Aslo, are they permanent ? 2 - What happens to your ship when you log off ? 3 - Is there a concept of economy / trading / smuggling with NPCs ? (Buying goods from a port and travel the seas to make profit by selling the goods in another port) 4 - From what I've seen via livestreams, the only "in-between" ennemies (by that I mean ennemies that are not wildlife or big "world bosses" that were teased in the trailer) were very basic and quite lame looking pirate ships that did not have any crew members and were not modeled / textured for any other interaction than shooting at it. Is it the kind of NPC ennemies that we should expect ? Will there never be any PVE boarding action ? 5 - Assuming that someone would not be into base building, is it viable to "live" off your boat ? Is there something you can't do without a base ? 6 - Currently, the game outside of the starting ports seems a little bit empty. Is it due to its early access state, or is the game going to be designed as a sandbox that expect the players to make it worth exploring ? 7 - Apparently, the description of one of the stats (intelligence) mentions "magical skills". Do we know the nature of these skills yet ? Are we supposed to expect players to change wind direction to their will and shoot fireballs ? In advance, thanks for your help !
  23. When the streamers were playing the day before Steam release they had both treasure maps and were seeing a bunch of flotsam. I'm guessing the Devs were purposely spawning them in for the streamers to experience. We've spent many hours sailing through servers and haven't seen anything yet. That's with those skills that increase the flotsam viewing range too. So maybe the Devs have those features turned off for now. I imagine there are a ton of things we saw in the trailers that are GOING to be in the game, but are currently turned off or not available.

  25. I am having issues with the map place in the inventory under ATLAS. It is all blank as can be seen on the screenshot. I tried validating the game but it didn't help. As of now I can't choose any beds to spawn. No map no grids etc. Anybody with idea how to fix it?
