just one question: why do you ignore player wishes?

This would go down in history as one of the most fowl tactics ever devised by a pirate. Where ever he plucked this idea from, it certainly added a nefarious feather to his cap.

It beats me why people never seem to read posts by other people who have messed around with making a company and then left one they made. It must be like people in zombie films who have apparently never ever watched a zombie film. If on Official, contact Support, sacrifice 5 chickens, pray to Cthulhu and hope that they will even read your ticket. If on Unofficial, try messaging an Admin. If on single-player look up Admin Commands and reclaim your stuff that way.

Hello Dear @Dollie , I suppose you are the community manager for Atlas. One thing i would love to see in Atlas as well in ark, is the Return of a game mod called SOTF(Survival of the Fittest) If you could somehow implement it into the game it would be huge.I love ark sotf i think it will completly correspond with pvp mechanics in Atlas. yacque.

Have you thought of putting a map with pvp and pve areas together like a lot of the private servers have made so that small tribes can enjoy the ship pvp without having their base trashed by the large tribes and have a safe area to relax when they want to just build.

    1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down. If you like any of these options, please reply to this thread with your comments and feel free to suggest some more ideas pertaining to ships! And a special thank you to @Jatheish for taking the time to read this! Loving the game.

Freeport Island You can drop claim flags on the freeport town and other structures on the island. South eastern Island bugs. This is a spawn island for new player start but covered in cyclops. I think the cyclops are supposed to be on the north eastern isle with the drake? You can just walk up to the drake no problem. Majority of Island Is missing snap points. Looks like a Temparate Island but has the weather and temperature of a Tundra island. Central Eastern Island No snap points anywhere on the island for building. Very few animal spawns North Central Islands No opposition getting to drake. Will do more testing on this island today Building is enabled, maybe intentional? All Islands and map in general Missing salt water fish around Island shores. Beds don't show on map and randomly stop working unless you create a new company. Lack of SOTD (Yeah I know, thought you would never hear that one right?) Vegetation seems to be mixed up. Aloe plants give fiber, fiber plants give berries, Berry plants to fiber are 4 to 1 it seems. Missing or lack of medicinal plants. Missing Wheat or lack of. Missing or Lack of Iron, Copper and Cobalt nodes. I’ve searched every island. Two islands have silver, one has Iridium and the rest have tin. Unable to grow crops due to biomes restrictions. No discovery points. Needed for two achievements and skills. Found several Sperm Whales but no Blue whales yet. Possibly missing. Trees floating in the sky northwest of south eastern island. Merging companies deletes merged companies claim flags. Silos cant be placed on Blackwoods type of claim system. SOTD spawning outside server boundary and becoming stuck. Sunken treasure spawning along coastal areas with treasure being underground. Sunken treasure spawning outside of server boundary.

There is exactly zero incentive to PVP in atlas. Why hassle with trying to attack an enemy fleet in an epic sea battle, or siege a well equipped fort with heroic defenders when you can simply wait for your enemies to log off, then kill them without resistance and destroy everything they ever created in the game in minutes. Once your enemy logs off, they are defenseless, sleeping, and therefore can be killed with a single hit and looted of all possessions without any skill or difficulty involved. There are no safe places to log off either. The strongest walls anyone can build in the game can be destroyed with a few salvos from a ship, so in about 10 seconds. Even walls that are built far away from shores can be destroyed by a single cannon cart in about two minutes. Also, a simple cannon has longer range than any defensive armament of a base, so you can safely park your ship or cannon cart outside any base, and shoot it without any chance of retaliation. Any ship you may build will also go down in a matter of seconds if found unmanned, even if you spent a week building it. Suppose you are really vested into not dying when you log off, and decide to spend an enormous amount of time and effort building on a remote mountain top that is both away from ships, and cannot be reached by cannon carts. Well, then then any attacker can still destroy the strongest wall you can build in the game with about 30 grenades, in about 2 minutes. To put this into context, grenades are relatively cheap to make and the average player can carry about a hundred. Interestingly, not only is it incredibly fast and easy to kill people offline and destroy entire bases, its rather expensive to build them. Atlas has the odd logic of making it cheaper to attack a fort than to defend one, even not counting the range advantage of attackers that makes all the defensive armaments useless anyway. At the moment not even mega companies seem to keep a large enough player force to defend themselves 24/7, so just build yourself a cheepo ship, get a horse with a cart, pack in a few grenades and sail around to find any building or ship left unattended for two minutes. Destroy it, loot it then move on. Its what everybody seems to be doing as its the most efficient strategy with the current game mechanics. A single player in underpants can currently beat any mega. I had this stupid idea a month ago to start the game, team up with some friends, build an awesome pirate base and fleet and then look for other fleets to battle. After a month, the four other guys left, as if we built something, it would always be destroyed while we were offline. We never witnessed an actual battle. We did see ships sometimes, but if they found us online, they would just sail away without attacking, and avoided us if we tried chasing them. The few allies we met have the exact same experience (most of them left after getting wiped repeatedly). I have only witnessed actual ship vs ship combat on videos. And to be fair, cruising around we found countless fleets moored on shore with their owners logged off, and also countless bases built by fellow players. We made the policy of not attacking anything if there are no players on it, as it did not seem much fun griefing others. But for most people this is the game: find an unattended ship or base, destroy it, then loot it. If you find other players, then just avoid them. Offline griefing is by far the most efficient strategy in this game, and this makes it a very unrewarding experience in my opinion. Its not the fault of the players, its a mistake of the game developers that made offline raiding the easiest and most rewarding activity in Atlas. A very poor game design choice if I may say so.

Let me start off with this first, I'm a PvE player so this goes from PvE only (my view); the following is not meant to be too sarcastic but you guys really have done a great job in letting the (almost) entirely community go to the bottom of the sea and even deeper. Why? Thats an answer you all know, the silence on all threads and only responses on the Blackwood thread makes it even harder for the majority of players to even making it worth while to comment on this forum. Here goes; Almost 1600 hours playtime. Thats how many I got since the release in december 2018. Good deal for a game wich costed me about 20 euros. When I saw the anouncement; ATLAS, a MMO with 40K players. THE pirategame where you can tame and breed animals, NPCs and even companymembers, I was stunned. Finally a game wich lives up to my name and created by the people from ARK. I just loved ARK and almost everything about it. I often wondered how it was like to sail around in a pirateship and do the same as in ARK. Taming, basebuilding, making awesomely insane ships, upgrading canons/weapons and so on. Now we got the chance of fighting pirates and all what came with it. Hyped. Everyone got hyped, we watched the TWITCH channel for the release and even when it got delayed, people still wanted this game so badly. It looked like you guys hit it spot on. We all where gathering old friends to buy this game and set up companies. Opened up multiple Discord channels and we where LOVING it. In the next weeks after release, we got alot of patches, the game is in EA and it needed alot of tweaking. Players where giving alot of tips and bugs and we had the feeling you guys learned from ARK and finally stood closer to the community then before. Then; the wipe. The wipe was something needed, we all can agree on that. New players where given a chance to try and get an island for their own, next to alot of improvements such as the claimingsystem. We where all hoping for more "piratecontent", wich was promised to us. More boats/different canons/breeding NPCs/villages bursting with activities like in the anouncements. We also got a skin for helping you guys out. (ikr), communitymanagers where appointed to keep in touch, but to be honest, here it stopped. Entirely. I'll never forget your face Jat, when people where spamming the TWITCH feed with comments like; Where are the new shipbuilds? Why is there a charwipe? Why don't you fix bugs? It was there and then we said as an alliance;" He's in way over his head, this game will never leave EA." Griefing. Players and companies where being griefed big time. Like us, we tried to get help in alot of ways. The only response I got, after 3 days of continiously spamming the the "ticketbox"; "I see what I can do, but I can not give you any info from here on." Thanks for that, I guess. Alot of companies where not having the "luck" of being smarter then the one who griefed them, they also tried to get in touch and/or help, but nothing happened. They left and felt like being stabbed in the back, most of them never will return. I remember and issue with one of our allies at that time, they went on and on and on for weeks on the Discord from ATLAS. Finally they got help from one of the admins. It was solved in 5 minutes, the griefing player was warned firmly and it was solved. 5 Minutes it took for the admin, was it that much for the other admins to do this? And before everyone goes ranting on them, remember they are being told to do things. Or not. The "Mega updates". You gotta be kidding me? That was our first reaction. Unreal, we get a, yes people; A Ron Jeremy of camels. I still can not believe it, an animal to make salt water tastes sweet, it feels like a screwup wich was done with sweet waterspots during the design of the game. No new ship designs, no new canons... Erm, ok, we got a torpedolauncher wich is almost completely useless on at least PvE and wich is expensive as.... For soloplayers/little companies? Nothing changed, it has gotten worse. Foundation and pillerspam? Some companies think it's normal to bomb places entirely, still happening. I asked once if a company wanted to remover theirs, I got so much BS about it, now they even made all of the floors 5 wide. "We just want to prevent other people from building there, due to the resources." And how about blocking other players to build? "There is space enuf now, let them keep on searching..." Sigh... pathetic. And not a single person from ATLAS does something about it. July mega update? It's august ffs. We don't even want to know the updates anymore and alot of players do not even care anymore. We know we're getting new animals and a new gun. That's not wat we want; WE WANT NEW SHIPS, NEW PIRATE CONTENT, BREEDING NPCS, NO MORE BROKEN PROMISSES! I do not care anymore about fixing, for instance, the so much hated building bug? Keep it, you guys know how to fix it, but leave it please. It has been fixed by a couple of modmakers. And in this rate with the game being drowned, we all go to unofficials. This game should NEVER been thrown into EA. It has been completely changed since it has been introduced as a "Pirate MMO with 40K players." Too bad to see all players go, people we got to know in the last 6 months are mostly gone allready. They will not return, so be happy with their cash. I really couldn't care any less if one of you responded or not anymore. Only one thing me and alot of players want to know now; Is this game going to be as it was sold to us or not?

Wiping the game certainly will not bring me back. The game is simply too time consuming for the average player to remain competitive in pvp. Sure once you have tames you can bang out a galleon in 2-3 hours not counting the hour or so to sail to the freeport and back but then you go to sleep and your npc defences are in capable of stopping someone from sinking it. So you start over the next time you log in it doesn't take long to decide to play something else. Logging in after work and everything you achieved the day before has been reset. There is no reason to carry on doing that

*Blunt Truth's Time* Truth 1) OMG news flash people don't like having their stuff wiped! Shocker! Truth 2) If you can't deal with wipes DON'T play an Early access game in development! Truth 3) Major changes to the base game will change the game experience from start to finish and Developers need to know how and if they need to balance things thus a NEED for a wipe from time to time! Disclaimer: I am in know way supporting or not supporting a future or upcoming wipe I am merely pointing out things that should be common sense, apply them to this situation as you see fit.

How about making pvpve mode instead of pve. The essence of the regime is the ability to play pvp, but without protecting your base for 9 hours a day. This mode would be suitable for the bulk of players and add to your popularity. The essence of the regime is as follows: 1) In each square there is one main island, where the 9 hour military phase, and the rest of the satellite islands, where the 3 hour military phase. The main acute is rich in resources, the owner of the main island can impose a tax on the extraction of resources on all other satellite islands, and payment for maintaining the islands with gold from the flag goes to the flag of the owner of the main island. The main island and satellite islands can be declared war for 24 hours once a week, while the main island can declare war on the satellite island in its square for a price 5 times cheaper and with the possibility of 2 times a week. Thus, the pve players on the satellite islands are protected from the daily grif by a 3-hour military phase, but there is no complete pve, this is just a simplified pvp mode, where there are fewer ground raids and accordingly more sea battles, as the game was supposed to be from the beginning. 2) If the owner of the main island occupies the satellite island in the same square or in the neighboring ones, then its satellite islands receive the same military phase as the main island in this or the neighboring square, that is, 9 hours. This is necessary so that the owner of the main island does not use satellite islands as safe bases. 3) On water everywhere pvp mode. The game requires a rating system for the meaning and incentive of the game for pvp players. The meaning of the rating system is as follows: when killing an enemy player, glory points are given, they are taken from the enemy when he dies from the enemy. Points are awarded for killing a player and for sinking an enemy ship. The higher the opponent in the ranking, the more points are given for him. Killing the enemy, the player receives personal fame points, and also earns them for his clan. Thus, the rating of players and clans as a whole is formed. This will encourage players to fight against strong opponents, because for them more glory points are given. For fame points in freeport you can buy unique items and skins.

Can we get the fire elementals removed from game? They are ridiculous The kraken and ice cave are fun but not worth multiple runs. It would be nice to have smaller caves with loot drops or something worth running numerous times.

People are not leaving because of the claim system... But because of the PVP imbalance causing only wipes and sinking, and the lack of PVP in PVE... But as you are the only one here that does not, because cannot, know the state of the game... you are just pushing solution to your fears... Realist cannot own an islands... get rid of claims... Realist as a solo cannot maintain his yuge ARK base, because of gold... get rid of gold... Realist cannot play with other in a dynamic player diplomacy... make factions so atleast some cannot KOS him, although everyone wants do at this point of the conversation with him... Realist cannot compete with his toy against PC periphery... remove PC from 'his' game...

will the map layout changes be able to go life without a wipe?
  24. 1 point
Will you be adding repeatable end game content. The Kraken and Giant Yeti are cool but not much incentive to repeat. It's hard to choose to spend time in Atlas when you have finished all the content when there isn't any repeatability.

What about something in the vein of daily quests from other MMOs. Go to the freeport, pick up a couple of quests (one to bring back a tamed tiger, one to bring certain resources, one to kill so many of this or that), bring them back for rewards of actual gear (NOT BPs) and some gold, etc. Also, are you considering changes to skill trees? Specifically, promoting trade by requiring the skills in order to *craft* the items, but not to use them. Would be fantastic to have trade/specialization in those skills be useful. As it is, to be able to use the item, I am already able to craft it. Not great. What is being done to remove the "land warfare" meta from the game and move it towards ship/open-sea conflicts? PVPVE all on one map?

Are you planning to work on your deficit documentation for help modder? (because you make a whole map blackhood to help us, but there is no explanation at all for anything) Do you plan like the Ark to integrate one or two animals for each update? Will you add one new ship or sail (no cosmetic) this year? Have you worked for an improvement of the colony system? Can we have a whole plan for everything you will develop during this year? (like priority fix bug, adding an island, adding quests, console... etc.) For the next big update, did you plan a wipe? What do you think about the meta pvp on the ground and the ship we are actually playing? Did you plan something for bringing more player for counter your very bad evaluation on steam? Does ship will go faster or official will have a smaller map for the early access because of the low population? Is there any possibility that the EU and NA server merge?

Are there any plans to make sailing in PvE fun? (or at least less boring) Are there any plans to allow solo players have fun? (like unlocking groupal content like the submarine for solo players) Are there any plans to remove decay? Are there any plans to make the game progression meaningfull? Are there any plans to make SotD grind worth it? Are there any plans to rework the skill tree? Are there any plans to make guns better than bow/crossbow? (as logic indicates it should be) Are there any plans to allow pirates to be free entities instead of feudal lord slaves?

So many of these can be up on cliffs where you spend forever to get to them and cannot get tames to assist with the spawned damned. We had a Mastercraft Map recently for example where we spent over an hour sailing to it then many hours (much more than the loot is worth) building multiple ramps and massive ladders to get right up to the highest point on the island where it was. In this case when we did get there, we built a small fort and mounted a puckle gun and a cannon only to find for some silly reason they did no damage to them.. (apparently related to golden isles having damned pulled to ships and farmed for gold? Making them immune in all locations isn't the answer..) We did finally manage to kill them all in melee, but took to long to do it i guess, as when we approached the area to dig, another full pack respawned. Anything that can be done to prevent the spawns from being right on top of pinnacles of mountains and cliffs, or at least making the high level damned kill-able by small (3 man) company i.e. being able to use Artillery would be much appreciated.

Generally speaking, we have a lot we're working on behind the scenes and information we're excited to share with the playerbase soon.

A few days with multiple MMO Official server issues that need addressing, and tonights patch proves it to me. Tonights Patch addressed NOTHING on official. Only concern was all single player issues on a modded map, that again will never be an official server hosted. ANd now consoles. Am I wrong here? Are the MMO Players being punished for some reason? Nor was any comments on the forums addressed in regards to the ship going Poof issue. Yes Im pissed now.. I post about a ship... MY ship just randomly going "POOF" other players comment, we agree its a bug/issue and bring up many points on what the issue could be. Yet not a single response from anyone. So what then, in the next couple days here, you gonna let more players shit go "Vanish"? Already hardly online on the NA PVE server, each grid i sail all night long is 1 person me! and thats Daily from N11 to J11. I don't understand... I dont care about the poof and everything i lost with it. Just own up to it. let us know this is a problem you are aware and are addressing it. If players read the forums and come across that topic. and say to them self's. Ships can "poof" why would they want to play, or spend the time needed to build a ship. Only so it can randomly go bye bye? Its EA yep for sure. WIPE the servers again, ill come back. But dammit guys. A little communication WILL go a long way

Maybe we can help you - please check out this thread : Single Player Crashing At Startup - page 1-2 You probably have to delete the "LastCoordGrid" file in your "SavedAtlasLocal" folder. This worked for nearly all of us,single players. If you do so ,you respawn at your starting freeport and then you have to find your way back to your old base but your previous discovered map is vanished though islandnames are still there. This isn't a devs solution. We found it out and you maybe have to deal with some smaller issues and bugs. But it's largely playable. If you're from my country - dann wünsche ich Dir viel Glück und lies bitte den thread durch.

This means that enforcement will now include three tiers of action rather than two: Temp bans, Permabans, and HWID bans. Whether your offence receives a temporary ban or not will be at the discretion of our Enforcement team. For the most part, temporary bans will likely be appropriate when enforcing against player misconduct, namely, chat related misconduct. Repeat offenders may receive longer bans, or in some cases, enforcement action will be escalated to permanent bans. Moving forward, in regards to some players feeling that what they said in-game was not deserving of a permaban: We work with the overall community and within our own company guidelines to identify what disruptive behavior and misconduct are and what the consequences for those behaviors should be. If your disruptive behavior has resulted in a permaban, it was either deemed highly excessive and harmful or this is not the first time you have been informed that your actions were inappropriate and unwelcome on our network. Please bear in mind that bans, both temporary and permanent, are seldom revoked. If you feel your ban was issued in error or seek clarification on the nature of your ban, bans can be appealed here live game patches v218.24 - Fixed a case where ships would enter a broken state where it visually appears to be unanchored, but you wouldn't have been able to move it. - Releasing a ship from a shipyard now has an activation timer - Fixed a bug which would cause players to throw items out of their inventory when rapidly pressing E to equip them - End of Magic Mythos event on Official Servers - Critical Save Changes to Non-ATLAS Dedi/Blackwood which fixes the following, but may require a save wipe: Players were randomly removed from their company Companies being deleted Being unable to spawn on beds Beds not appearing on the map Ships not appearing on the map Additional info on Blackwood/Non-ATLAS Dedi changes: v218.21 - Prevented the hotbar from outlining red with broken items when at the ship wheel - Fixed a bug which prevented melee attack with weapons whilst carried by Lion - Fixed a bug which caused players to lose most control of their characters after dying to exhaustion when shoveling (was previously solved by relogging) - Fixed a bug where buoys would not provide light and be desynced on the ocean at high waves - Fixed a bug which would not allow players to change the name of the ship if they hadn't previously given it a name (this only occurred when pressing accept without naming it, rather than cancel) - Fixed a bug where the reload mini game would not take effect when mounted on creatures - Multiple Misc Blackwood Level related fixes (floating foliage, ocean water transitions, holes). v218.21 - Fixed a crash which would occur when attempting to open a Dinghy's inventory - Fixed Advanced Able Mapmaker being unlocked by the wrong skill - Fixed Ship Max Level being erroneously counted by the Shipyard's current health rather than the total health. - Fixed dedicated servers not using passwords on Blackwood - Fixed a case when searching for Blackwood servers would cause only one to list at a time - Fixed a bug where corpses with inventories would not calculate their correct weight - Fixed a bug which wouldn't allow you to select the Home Server to change to on Unofficial Networks - You can now plant an assortment of seeds in Blackwood - Fixed multiple islands on Blackwood being marked as non-buildable - Fixed a bug where beds would sometimes not function on Blackwood - Fixed Shipwrecks spawning on the coast of islands in Blackwood - Fixed multiple foliage and terrain bugs with Blackwood - Moved the 'Exit to Main Menu' button to the bottom of the pause menu options v218.15 - Fixed a client-side crash (https://pastebin.com/U3QN7KyQ) - Blackwood content moved to optional DLC, for those who do not plan to play it and want to save the install size (10GB): https://store.steampowered.com/app/1129370/Blackwood__ATLAS_Expansion_Map/ - Added multiple treasure map locations per island for Single Player and Non-Dedicated Game Modes v218.14 - Client-side fix for Treasure Map crash v218.13 - Blackwood is available!
