Yo! Trying something new here, this is more of an informal blog-style post where I’d like to do a bit of a post mortem on recent events. That could be following a large update, a tradeshow, an announcement of a new feature, etc. My aim with these kinds of posts is to provide some additional insight, it will be less about what’s coming/promotional content and more real talk from myself. Fair warning, my musings can be pretty verbose. Unlike the Captain’s Log, these won’t be made on a regular basis, but when I feel they might be necessary -- keep in mind, at indie studios people tend to wear many hats and whilst I am the Lead CM, I also work on the development side of the project, this was also the case for ARK too For the first Post Mortem, we can talk about Patch v10, bug reports, late-night deployments and the timelines surrounding them, support tickets, as well as rollbacks. Patch v10 So! This was a pretty big update, it dropped later than we intended due to some personal problems (people being sick), and then needing the extra time following that for people to get everything ready, as well as our QA team to run through it all. The delay did allow us to bring in more tweaks and fixes, which is always nice. I am not going to go into much detail about the patch itself because we’ve had two Captain Log’s which share the notes, but I do want to address some of the feedback and reports we’ve received since. If you want to know what came in v10, as well as our big announcements for the week, you can read about it on Captain’s Log #16: So this patch didn’t come without its flaws, and to be honest, it would be delusional to think any major one would, especially whilst we’re in this highly iterative state. Our development team, including QA (yes they exist, and they work damn hard and are often underappreciated in this industry), aim to catch and resolve every patch-related issue before it gets out to you, but we’re human and sometimes things can slip through the cracks -- whether that’s due to design, lack of numbers (tens of thousands are much more likely to identify problems!), or just something that was overlooked. Our style of development is to work hard, fast and get the changes out to you guys as soon as possible, though we still run checks to make sure it's stable and it meets our release goals. We don’t like to sit on updates, if it checks out, let’s get it out there! Hence the frequent late-night deployments, though some nights aren’t as lively as tonight, lol. Our goal is to ensure that ATLAS feels like a vastly different experience in a short period of time due to the improvements and changes we’re making on a frequent basis. This means that comparing ATLAS day 1 will be very different to ATLAS day 30 and then again to ATLAS day 100, so on so forth. This will come in the form of optimisation, bug squashing, rebalancing, and new content. This is how we develop titles as a studio, especially during Early Access. We find it effective and enjoyable. Sure it comes with its frustrations, and there could be adjustments made to our processes but the same could be said about any style. Not that we won’t make changes should we deem them necessary, but what you’re experiencing now in terms of the pace and size of updates, is most likely what you’ll be experiencing throughout Early Access. Updates coming at you harder and faster than the busted Ship of the Damned did in v10.72 . (Note: That patch did go through QA, sadly we didn’t expect our change to effect SOTD and had it patched out as soon as possible. My condolences to any seafarers who lost their lives and had their boats sunk). Now onto the hot topics! I may not cover everything, but I’ll try to cover what I believe are the important ones to address. If you think I’ve missed something, get at me: Discord: Jat#0001 Twitter: twitter.com/Jatheish Reddit: /u/Jatheish (not Jaton… also that was JATonreddit guys.. not Jaton…) Additionally, you could also reach out to Dollie! My co-captain on all things Community. You might recognize her from the forums, Discord, or from the Official ARK PVP Community. We’ll do a proper introduction post for her on Monday, in the Captain’s Log. Discord: Dollie#0001 I won’t reply to everything, in fact, I probably only respond to like 20-30% but I do read the majority of my messages, unless it gets super chaotic and impossible to keep up with. E.g you crash my browser/phone/discord (which has happened far more often than I’d like). This should be obvious, but I’ll say it anyway, I would like to reply to everything, but I learnt very early on that is not possible. I remember when I first started at Wildcard in 2015 and tried to respond to every Facebook and Steam comment. Mental. I will respond to the critical reports, assuming I am still actively investigating it (or the team is). OKAY. Now we’re really onto the hot topics. Sorry, I did say my musings can be pretty verbose. It’s crap when there are platforms with a word limit! Thankfully, I don’t think that’s the case on the forums, but I guess we’ll find out. Lawless Regions: Spawns, Resources, Temps. and Weather Shortly after launch, we temporarily hacked up a change which turned Lawless Regions into Homeservers and enabled some special settings on them which prevented Alpha Creatures from spawning, it had faster respawns when it comes to harvestables, and weather events (or might have just been rain) were disabled. In the latest update, we removed these changes and have set it back to our initial design. These servers are meant to be unclaimable land to allow players to gain a foothold once they’ve left Freeports, but they’re meant to be a temporary area before setting sail into the wide ATLAS! Based on our investigation thus far, resources are certainly respawning on these grids, and the signs point to the structure spawn-prevention radius causing confusion and leading to the reports. This system is native to the game but wasn't present during our initial launch due to Lawless Regions being listed as Homeservers, so from a technical point of view, it's intentional, however, I know better than to rule out possibilities for other issues (hence they're investigating). There's an argument that the radius itself needs to be adjusted, so we'll have to think on that. Keep in mind that this can change, whilst there may be some things we’re unlikely to change, it doesn’t mean that we’re set in stone. We’ll keep you posted if we have any updates! A quick note about the weather systems, these are the initial Early Access launch systems we have in place. We’d like to take it further, beyond just having fog, cold, heat, and rain! Though we believe there are certainly other things we need to prioritise which will have more of an impact on the game… such as volcanoes and of course the holy trinity of: bug fixes, optimisation, and balance! Plus. seeing that we’re on the topic of weather, I think I should mention temps too. Yes, they suck in some places, and we have resolved a lot of these in the most recent patch, as well as made it more clear when you’re experiencing a certain weather event, but there are more fixes to come, hopefully in the coming days. One of our designers is meticulously going through all the various biomes (we have a lot) and adjusting the temperature time of day and armour insulation values to make sure we’re hitting the sweet spot. Combat and Creatures: Guns, Melee Weapons, and Armour The overall goal with these changes was to ensure sure that weapons were more effective against higher armoured players, whilst not making the lower tiers completely worthless. The primary change you should notice is that the weapons themselves are more piercing and have had their base damage reduced to reflect this. Clearly, this had some knock-on effects on how players dealt with creatures (tamed and wild), which we expected but to know the full extent of the changes it is best witnessed in a live environment. The gameplay/balance team are consuming your feedback and will make adjustments when necessary, it’s possible that there may be some potential tweaks too with some multipliers which are being looked at right now. Not going to confirm anything is being changed right this instant, but just acknowledge that we’re aware of the feedback and it is actively being discussed internally. Tamed Creatures I figure this needed its own mini mention itself. ATLAS isn’t a taming orientated game. Yes, we have it, and we plan to expand on it, as well as introduce more creatures for you add to your arsenal, however, the creatures themselves are meant to be supplemental and not the main focal point. Prior to v10, we felt like certain aspects of the creatures made them too strong. Primarily how quickly they could restore health via shovelling food down their mouths and consuming corpses -- mechanics we weren’t really keen on with ARK either but for legacy reasons are necessary to that game. It’s understandable that we may have overshot with this update and we’re happy to bring some baselines back up, but it’s not likely we’ll adjust those healing mechanics. At this time, we’d rather have creatures that are inherently more powerful than having immense regen. Though we do understand the need to manage your tame’s health and we’ll be investigating additional ways we can do this beyond the skill/feat system. Something we’re toying around with now is the idea of custom cooking recipes for individual creatures (or more broad recipes that can affect multiple creatures) to heal em up. It’s safe to say that you can expect changes and content coming in the days/weeks/yadda yadda ahead revolving around this. PvE Exploits Not going to share what the exploits are, that would be unwise…although I suppose for those of you who weren’t aware, you might be with my post. Just wanted to say we are well aware of what’s happening and are exploring ways to deal with it. The obvious solutions won’t quite work due to some backend stuff, however, we are actively looking into a more delicate and effective solution. In the meantime, quit being jerks and griefing each other, otherwise, I might have to set Amberenix (our Game Master) on ya! I think that covers most of what I wanted to discuss about v10. I realise that doesn’t cover everything, but then we could literally be here for days on end and right now it’s 8 a.m and I’d like to get some rest soon haha. We had some hotfixes and patches go out today following the release, mostly just to resolve things that had been overlooked/missed in the update and some exploit fixing… as well as deal with the menacing rapid-firing Ship of the Damned that we introduced ourselves. Which kind of brings me to another topic... Server Deployments and ETAs! Typically when we have a release candidate that’s ready to go out, we announce it via a server broadcast in-game. The release candidate usually will go through some basic smoke checks to make sure everything is running smoothly. Assuming we do not encounter any problems and the fix checks out, we then begin the deployment immediately. Unfortunately, sometimes we run into issues that were unexpected and have to deal with it, or a player report has just come in and we want to get it fixed prior to deploying, saving us needing to deploy multiple times a night -- unless it calls for it. As for the comments asking why we don’t keep builds in QA for a week at a time, well, to be frank, running a full playthrough of all our content and having QA check every nook and cranny for every update would take longer than a week. It would increase our development time and is not incredibly useful to us in our current development cycle, and as mentioned previously, we don’t want to sit on updates. If we believe a patch is ready, we plan to roll it out as soon as possible. It’s not our intention to get these times wrong and we don’t plan to make you guys wait, it’s just how it happens. I will say though, as long as I’m around during the deployment process I will be keeping the Discord and Twitter fully in the loop when it comes to actual-actual deployments, as much as I can. In essence, if it’s mentioned on either of those platforms, it’s probably going to be incoming. This is when it comes to specific deployment messages such as: in 15 minutes major version etc is incoming and not in related to the larger ETA timelines we share (i.e 4 hours). It’s no secret that we’re not the best with time management, there’s no point hiding it. It is definitely something we need to improve on and I’ll be encouraging the team to do so, it’s been a quibble of mine for ages and not just because of all the hate messages I get about missed ETAs, but because I know how frustrating it can be. For those of you asking why we even bother giving you these inaccurate ETAs and not just say the moment the patch is ready to deploy. Well, when we share these ETAs, we believe they are accurate at the time and then XYZ thing happen. Some players would like to be informed ahead of time so they can try to plan out their day around our ETAs (to their own risk... might I add, I always get messages about folks taking off days from work or skipping dinner to hang around for a patch, I don’t recommend doing it! Even if we were the best damn ETA-deadline hitters in the world, ya never know what could happen and if you do decide to, hey that’s on you man :P). For those of you who don’t want to be informed and would rather wait until the very moment we are deploying, then I’d recommend ignoring our general broad ETAs and look out for the ‘15 minutes’ to deployment ones, those are the most accurate -- and especially if they’ve hit social platforms like Twitter/Discord, but ya, the criticism around how we handle this is warranted. As for late night deployments, well I think I’ve covered this a few times with this post but just to reiterate. We don’t like to sit on fixes and updates. If we’re confident in something and the team is available, we’re happy to set it live. Whether that’s at 4 AM or 4 PM. It’s a little more chaotic at the moment as we’ve just launched and soon enough we’ll have some more structure and planning to it, but generally, you can expect the same frequent updates. ATLAS launched as an early access title and we plan to update it often, and regularly with meaningful changes. Rollbacks Moving on from that, let’s discuss rollbacks as this was mentioned today shortly after the Ship of the Damned patch was released and some players, unfortunately, had their ships sunk. First of all, I’d like to apologize profusely for that. I feel for anyone who suffered a loss, it definitely sucks and we’ll always do our best within our process to ensure we’re able to avoid those scenarios as much as possible. When it comes to rollbacks, it is something we explore as an option in the event of a catastrophic game failure, as they could potentially introduce other problems. This means things such as an unintended wipe, data deletion, game content not being cooked properly, etc. There are other scenarios, but not feasible to list it all out. Just know that as a team we do not take these decisions very lightly, and everything is handled delicately on a case by case basis, if we determine that a rollback would be warranted, we would inform players as soon as possible. I know that doesn’t make up for the loss of boats, creatures, etc in the event that a deployment goes awry; please understand that due to the rate that the game is changing, this could also happen due to a balance change, or the introduction of new content. A lot of players had their boats sunk early on by the insane fire arrows (which may still need to be looked at), or cheaply sunk with metal picks; it could happen for a number of reasons and is a downside when playing a highly iterative and ever-changing title. On that note, we will do our best to ensure that we avoid these situations. Having a patch screw you over sucks, having a rollback sucks, so let’s stay away from both if we’re able to! Support Tickets, Player Reports & Bug Reports As of yesterday, we launched our support ticketing system. Right now we’re helping out folks with Company Ownership issues and Players getting stuck, though hopefully, the latter is not as necessary anymore due to the recent v10 changes. Over time, we’ll be increasing the options for how we can support players as we identify more areas where it is necessary and implement more tools to tackle these. Please note, that we’re always going to be leaning on the side of technical solutions to game problems versus direct Game Master intervention where we can help it. We’re a small team and our resources are better funnelled into development. We’re also going to be actively investigating player reports as they come in. I primarily want to shut down cheaters who are using hacks/3rd party progs or ridiculously exploiting unintended game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage over other users. Please keep in mind the final verdict of these punishments comes down to us, in a sandbox environment, monitoring your game is best done on a case by case situation. There is no silver bullet, but we will certainly invest time and resources into dealing with this. Not going to go into details because it’s best left close to our chest - but it won’t be tolerated. This isn’t solely just limited to cheaters though, but also ‘toxic’ users. That word is probably overused now and has lost some of it’s meaning, but to be clear; we understand when people are joking between each other, we know there’s an element of banter when playing a competitive game, especially one of pirating and world-conquering nature, however, we will not tolerate outright harassment, discrimination etc on our servers and have already taken action against multiple companies/individuals. And finally, bug reports! Right now the reports are coming in from a variety of different platforms. The forums, Discord, Reddit, Twitter, Twitch, Youtube, etc. We’ve got our eyes spread around but are looking into a more effective way to accept reports, as well as show you that we’re aware of them. Whilst I was working on ATLAS pre-launch, I know the ARK team created a custom bug report system on survivetheark. I’m looking to do something similar based on the Support Ticket system, but hopefully more customized with better user permission management, highlighting things like developer response, and upvoting. Not sure how much of that is doable based on our current systems, but going to be exploring it as an option with Chris. We’ll see how things pan out with the Support Tickets and Report Players system, if it holds up well then we can look into implementing the bug reports area. In the meantime, continue as you are -- we’ve got enough coverage around the multiple platforms and you can be sure that your reports are being investigated! OKAY. I think I have covered everything that I wanted to talk about in this blog post. It’s a lot wordier than I anticipated. If you prefer seeing posts like this, let me know and I’ll probably end up doing more in the future, but maybe not as wordy -- this was more so as it was the first and there was a lot to say. Anyways, take it easy, and here’s hoping you all continue to enjoy sailing the seas of ATLAS!

The more I play this game the more the problems with its design become obvious. It's got huge potential but I can't help but feel that they need to make some massive changes in order to correct its path. The Devs announced at the start that they were taking massive inspiration from Eve. Given Eve's massive success it's a logical choice to look at for ideas on how to make this type of game work. Eve is effectively a game about space ships (ships) moving between planets (islands) with everyone harvesting resources to create everything that exists in game. With that in mind... There's a significant different between Atlas and Ark currently from a game design perspective. That is the existence of High Sev vs Null Sec and the existence of very mature player trade. High Sec being the area where approximately 70% of the players live and play. High Sec is safer, CONCORD (the police) rule the area and maintain law. Anyone breaking that law is swiftly dealt with (the police spawn in and blow you to pieces), it is possible however to break the law should you choose (incredibly difficult to do this successfully, near on impossible). The further you go from the safety of Concord the more dangerous and lawless the area becomes. I think it's the Atlas version of CONCORD that's missing. There should not be PVE and PVP servers. Just servers local to your region. It needs an AI controlled Governing force that maintains ownership of primary squares. Those squares become PVE squares. There should be enough to provide adequate space for the PvErs. They should absolutely have Trade Houses that are run by the game. Players should be able to place Buy and Sell orders in the Trade Houses knowing that they are in a relatively safe place. Those places should act as players hubs. Allow companies to have Company Offices if they are acting as trade merchants. Allow the bounties to be placed from these hubs. Ships should be able to be docked in relative safety in these locations with the understanding that they are under the protection of the local government. The PVE players can live safely within the governed regions. The PVP players can try and sneak into those regions and cause chaos if they like, with the knowledge that the AI controlled Government will come down on them swiftly. To make this work you need to create a reason to go out into Null Sec (pretty much all of Atlas is currently Null Sec). Define the resource availability in a way that there is reward for stepping out into the risky waters. Allow the'Pirates' to create their own Trade Hubs. This will encourage players to try and sail to these locations to fulfil trade orders. This gets the trade working. Prices need to be defined by the market. Not by the game. We need the market to fluctuate as this will encourage people becoming traders. Buying low and selling high from one port to the other. The Null Sec areas become serious business. Political borders start to form between some of the largest most feared companies. They may allow smaller companies to operate within their borders as alliances form. Eventually things will no doubt get very interesting. This would be a much better game experience for new players. They can begin the game in relative safety and as they grow more confident in their ability they can set forth into more dangerous waters to seek out glory and fame. If they fail, they can retreat, if they succeed they may very well end up dominating new lands. , This will encourage more mature meta-game. It will encourage better PVP. It will create a better community.

Hello all! Instead of bashing the change, I decided to go and lay out the current state of the bows and firearms in general for myself. I like thinking and taking notes, so I am just going to go through this for myself while taking notes in here. As I do so for myself, you will get to reap the information I gather. So let's go to it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Reload Timers------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bow Reload Timers Test Quick Draw shot = 1 sec Full Draw shot = 3 sec Pistol Reload Timers Test NO RELOAD SPEED BONUSES Perfect Reload = 15 seconds Auto Reload = 19 seconds Spam click (complete failure ) = 20 seconds _____________________________________________ +30% Reload Speed Perfect Reload = 12 seconds Auto Reload = 16 seconds Spam click (complete failure ) = 17 seconds ____________________________________________ Carbine Reload Timers Test Perfect Reload = 15 seconds Auto Reload = 20 seconds Spam click (complete failure ) = 21 seconds ____________________________________________ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------DPS TESTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Test #1 Object: Training Dummy Bow skills = 0 All Gun Reload Skills. Bow : 4 x shots at 35 dmg each Dummy DPS score of 28 Pistol: 1 x shots at 90 dmg each Dummy DPS score of 18 Carbine: 1 x shot at 160 dmg each Dummy DPS score of 32 I don't trust this meter since it has a flawed truncated calculation method based on 5 second rule. Test #2 Object: lvl 7 Giraffe Field Test Carbine shot = 136 Dmg Extrapolated Perfect Reload DPS: 136/15 = 9.06 Extrapolated Auto Reload DPS: 136/20= 6.8 Extrapolated Spam Click Reload DPS: 136/21 = 6.48 Flintlock Shot No Buffs = 75 Dmg Extrapolated Perfect Reload DPS: 75/15 = 5 Extrapolated Auto Reload DPS: 75/20= 3.95 Extrapolated Spam Click Reload DPS: 75/21 = 3.75 Flintlock Shot +30% Reload Buff = 75 Dmg Extrapolated Perfect Reload DPS: 75/12 = 6.25 Extrapolated Auto Reload DPS: 75/16= 4.69 Extrapolated Spam Click Reload DPS: 75/17 = 4.41 Bow Shot No Buff = 34 Dmg Extrapolated Quick DPS: 34/1 = 34 Extrapolated Full Reload DPS: 34/3 = 11.33 In this controlled test we are able to see that the Bow wins even with 0 buffs. However, this example does not include a situation where multiple pistols are worn and the switch can be done within 2 seconds between each shot, but even in that specific case the damage of the pistols would go up to about 37.5 in which case the pistol would win the damage race. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SKILL POINT COST------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let us look however on the other side of the problem that is caused by this firearms nerf. The problem is the investment cost of Bow vs. Firearm First cost is in Skill Points: Bow requires these skills: Tools of Trade (1 point) > Archery (3 points) totaling 4 points for non-buffed damage explored above. Flintlock requires these skills: Tools of Trade (1 point) > Archery (3 points)> Ballistic Studies (2 points) > Improved Ballistic Studies (4 Points) > Expert ballistic Studies (10 Points) > Sapper (6 points) > Firearms Unlock (4 Points) > Pistol Basics (2 points) a total of : 32 points for 0% reload buff weapon crafting; (32 total) +14 points for +30% reload buff; (46 total) +24 points for Carbine unlock; (70 total) Bow once again wins in accessibility and point cost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CRAFTING and MAINTENANCE COST------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Second is the Crafting and Maintenance Costs: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bow (Can Be crafted anywhere!) 60 fiber 6 Hide 22 Wood Bow Repair 1/2 resources: 30 Fiber 3 Hide 11 Wood ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flintlock (Crafted ONLY at the Smithy!) 16 Flint 18 Hide 36 Metal 8 Oil 22 Wood Flintlock Repair 1/2 resources: 8 Flint 9 Hide 18 Metal 4 Oil 11 Wood ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carbine (Crafted ONLY at the Smithy!) 65 Alloy 3 Flint 32 Hide 20 Oil 85 Wood Carbine Repair 1/2 cost: 33 Alloy 2 Flint 16 Hide 10 Oil 43 Wood ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clearly, yet again Bow wins! Last but not least the per bullet cost as well as accessibility of resources in materials goes up exponentially when we compare Bow to Flintlock and Carbine making per shot cost yet again in favor of the bow. Sadly, bows are currently the most powerful weapon and the cheapest weapon with ease of access in our hands, at least when it comes to culling the wildlife. Hope this helps.

since you nerfed firearms for PVP reasons, us people over in the land of PVE are paying for it. Can't kill a cow by shooting it in the head with a pistol. Need to use a blunderbuss and two pistol shots to take down ONE croc. What if theres more than one croc? Dead. edit: I don't want to play a game where bows are the meta over FIREARMS!!

Not anything major but lamps should be able to be repaired in inventory. I have street lights made with the lamps so it sucks that you have to take it all the way back to the smithy just to reoil them and then take them back to their hooks. Would be nice to just be able to oil them on the spot. I understand making them on the smithy but you don't need a smithy to put oil in a lamp. lol

I'd be content it being removed from the game. I see no point in it existing.

Who wouldn't want to spend their leisure time hanging out with 500 guys just exactly like Chuckles, here? (Or worse) Gee..what an attractive prospect. I know when I get some (rare) time to do stuff I want, the first thing I always do is run and find a bunch of belligerent, unintelligent, humorless, arrogant little boys to spend time with. Because that's what FUN is all about, dammit. You damned solos and small groups better hurry up and join the Megas, because I said so, and you dumbasses don't even know how much fun you're missing. Hell, we already have 35 guys in our Mega named on some variation of p3nis, and 2 dozen trying to see how many times they can work n***r into their names. It's a riot! And hey, if you're female, hurry up, so we can harass you all effing day...voice chat mandatory. You kids, you weebs, you anti-social freaks need to STFU and just associate with us. Hilarious.

fire arrow are ruining the game. its not even close to real life. this is a pirate game not medieval age.. everyone uses them. for they are op. guns have a extremely slow reload time that is good. and a game whit slow range weapons and melee weapons make it balance .and to make a weapon that is not even what Classic pirates use(what we think when we think of pirates) and make it so op... so everyone uses them. i will say your falling hard. (Story time)in this world with pirates and dragons you stand there white your heavy armor and weapons ready to sink the enemy ship , and then you see its only one man on the ship with a bow and some fire arrows .you begin to laugh for yourself and prepare to crush your enemy with just a bow......what you didn't know,,, is its not just an arrow whit fire on it..no,no,no,no,no its made of chlorine trifluoride. and burst insane fire where it lands and kills everyone moving over it......... …. ......…. ...…. G....G..... then we have some more funny things with this fire arrows in this game. when your offline you only need 1 guy to sink your ship... ONE..not one whit a ship that have cannons on it and pay crew to help him fire. but one whit a bow, yes I can agree that in real life setting a wooden ship on fire works great.but in real life your fleet is defended 24.7 with many men,, that can easily stop 1 guy whit a bow. and you may think i'm in rage and saying this for i have lost ships to ppl this way then i say to you no.,i am the one thaT done it. if you like to have fire arrows in your game i can understand, but then try to consider it to only burn things like wood trees planks so on. not grass dirt stone and so on. and maybe think that more then one arrow on same spot to make it burn. and this is a GAME maybe make it so that you can't sink anchor ship with fire. yes i know that you can but for this is a game. using cannons and so on, on an anchor ships make it more playful than just one guy whit a bow. this game have so good potential. i just hope you make it more pirate. good selling fellow pirates and traders and see you all on EU pvp!

I shouldn't feed the obvious troll, but for the other people who are reading this. I've not defended anything from this game or said EA is a bullet proof vest for it. I have different expectations of EA games compared to Full Release games, and even different for Indie studios vs Major companies. I get that you just want to hate this game, and that's fine. The game needs changes, it needs balance, and it needs an open discussion for people to actually make good suggestions to improve the game, not just knee jerk reactions from people who are thinking only about their very short sighted needs.

This is a forum, people will have differing opinions on things. Expecting everyone to have the same opinion or attempting to censor one side of the argument will be the killer of this game, rather than people who disagree with you about what needs to change and how. Stop trying to tell people to shut up, try to convince them you are right or at least listen to their viewpoint. Contrary to popular belief, people can disagree on one thing and agree on another, and the world won't end because of it.

^^^^not anymore. ANd only if you can trap them in a pen or get on high ground because you can't kill them before they kill you. Alphas are pointless. We've lost 4 wolves, 4 bears and 1 monkey to Alphas (wolves, horses, vultures and lion). Almost a 5th bear but we were able to get the alpha lion to de-aggro by swimming out. The alphas are terrible. They aren't fun, they one shot everything. It's great that my 2 hours of time taming a bear and a monkey was ended in 2 seconds when we were pounced by an alpha lion. SUPER FUN TIMES. I get losing tames sometimes. But it takes a lot of skill points, resources and time to get them so it's extremely frustrating to have them one shot constantly by alphas. They don't even drop anything exciting. You don't get special Alpha Meat or hide or SOMETHING. The game would be far better without them.

Really, and why do we need alpha animals in this game? Since they nerfed the weapons, you cant even 1 shot kill a non alpha, what do we do now? We run the whole day, we cannot tame a single animal because there are animals spawning over your head, if you tame an animal it will get killed by an alpha, so what is the point of this game atm? Build a ship and live in the ocean 24 /7?

Doesn't really seem fair that PvE-focused firearm users should be shafted at the expense of making guns more "piercing" against player armor, so I'm going to go ahead and post a reminder that guns, especially pistols and blunderbusses, are extremely weak right now. I really just want firearms to go back to the way they were against creatures. It's not fun when a wolf or a lion miraculously survives a rifle headshot with 30% health remaining and charges you like a mad, raging bull.

Hitting an alpha gives 0 experience now. Killing an alpha gives minimal experience compared to pre-v10 and only for the one that gets the killing blow.

Why do we need this shitty Alphas anyway ? Is there a Story behind it ? like did they got shit out by some Dev's that have been on them islands ages ago or something ? because to me they make no sense what so ever besides killing progress that the player makes. I want to play a Pirate/Ship game and not Ark 2.0 where i fucking grind 10h and after 1h my progress is gone. If you cant Program something you shoud leave it outside the game !

I agree with that Clowandering fella. Going out to harvest some fiber; wait, let me kill those two crocs, four giant snakes, rattlesnake, and a couple scorpions first. Right, good. Sickle sickle sickle sickle GIANT SNAKE APPEARS WITH FRIENDS. I really hate snakes now, almost to an Indiana Jones level.

I wouldn't mind the number of predators if clearing them out around a base would last more than 5 minutes. Respawn times are ridiculous. It makes it very difficult to do any kind of material collection when you can't leave your base without getting swarmed. If I could clear out the wolf packs around and have even a half hour of relief, it would make a huge difference. The alphas are just out of control.

V10 made Firearms close to useless on PVE. They were already problematic due to the long reload time but at least you could oneshot things with the Blunderbuss (not Alphas, Alphas are the devil) which justified not using Bow and Fire Arrows. But right now our guys spec'ed out of firearms, there is no reason wasting the points atm. Fire Arrows are the only thing that can kill Alphas. An Alpha Scorpion killed all our tames (10 Cows, Elephant etc) before it could be killed by my mate with an fire arrow. Nothing else does enough damage to make an Alpha even care.

Beast spawning randomly, in your base, fulll stone construction, and kill all your tames, i think that the point that pisses me off the most atm xD

It is a 5 length ship built in the Advanced Shipyard once players have found blueprints for it. Blueprints can be found in shipwrecks. Unlocked in the Advanced Shipwright Skill It comes with 6 tame railings that can store 5 tames each (30 Total). Resources for a base version: Wood - 2500 Thatch - 2000 Fibers - 2000 Metal - 20 New Modular Ship UI We’ve added a popularly voted on request to the game in the form of additional UI for captains to know where leaks and damage is on their modular ships. There are 3 stages for durability: Green - Durability is good Yellow - Durability is moderate Red - Durability is poor If the portion of the ship is flashing, it means this area has a leak. We will look to make this UI element colorblind friendly in the future. Map Menu UI Visual Revamp The Atlas tab map UI has been revamped visually for an easier navigation of the regions. Instead of having dropdown tabs of the regions on the left, all regions available will be shown on one Overworld map. Players will be able to click and see all regions available on the overworld map. To get to the Overworld map click on the icon of the globe in the top left of your map screen. The region the player is currently in on the Overworld map is highlighted in green. Open Water Servers There is a new way to traverse through the atlas’ regions besides portals. There are now intermediate open water servers that connect regions to one another. There are no islands to be found here, just open seas and the treasure and dangers that come along with it. They are known as open waters and there are four of them within the world. They are connected through all sides of the Central Waters region. Depending on which cardinal direction the player goes through determines which region they travel to. Northern Sea - North Pole, Eastern Waters, Central Waters, Western Waters Eastern Sea - North Pole, Eastern Waters, Africa, Central Waters Southern Sea - Central Waters, Africa, Antarctica, South America Western Sea - North Pole, Central Waters, South America, Western Waters Industrial Wonder Content The industrial path of Wonders is slowly making its way into the Atlas. Transient and Static nodes for this path can be found and harvested exclusively within the Uncharted Sea region. Industrial Wonder: Power Nodes Transient Node - Geothermal Vents This transient node is similar to the Army of the Damned ones in that they have a time limit of one week before they deplete, despawn, and respawn at a different location, but they spawn more inland. Players will need to craft the new Ore Miner structure in order to harvest the resource of these nodes. These transient nodes produce a new resource type of coal: Brimstone Static Nodes There are two variants of Industrial static nodes - Lava vents and Sulfur pits. There is no need to create a harvesting structure for either as Pathfinders who’ve traveled here have built them already, but they seem to have perished. Lava Vents produce a new metal: Orichalcum. Sulfur Pits produce a new type of coal: Pure Sulfur Both of these resources are needed to craft new Industrial structures and gear now and in the future. Lava static nodes allow players to build the Industrial Smithy. Sulfur pit static nodes will get new crafting recipes in the future! New Max Level Cap: 110 New Base Max Level (before discoveries): 77 All skill disciplines have been reworked Removed the song and dance skill discipline Changed firearms discipline to ranged combat Map Changes Atlas has expanded! Visit new areas based on geographical locations Regions Available Rookie Cove - An area for all pathfinders to cruise the seas in peace. A cove for all to gather their bearings and test their newfound abilities until they are comfortable to progress full sail ahead! Central Waters - The largest area in the game and host to a healthy mix of tropical/temperate islands, but also an ancient evil told in Atlantean myths. Can you find all the power stones and defeat the greatest challenge? South America - A region home to tropical/equatorial areas. However, there seems to be faint chanting amongst this region. Will you be able to find the source of this hidden power? Africa - A region home to the hottest desert Islands around. Crocodiles, venomous snakes and lots and lots of sand call this region home. Antarctica - The harshest sub-zero climates, icebergs, penguins, and illusive yeti's populate the islands around here. North Pole - The north pole is similar to Antarctica, but to the north. Same freezing weather but perhaps the treasures here are the defining difference. Atlas Menu Map The Atlas Menu has been modified to fit the new regions available. The following tabs are available for you to look at. Overworld - The first map drafted by early cartographers. A general outline of the world is available. Rookie Cove - The home to the starting, self-titled region Central Ocean - You will find the map to the Central Waters region here Mediterranean Sea - The blazing hot desert islands of Africa region is here Central Maw - Uncharted waters, but rumor has it that the Kraken's lair is here South Atlantic Ocean - Tropical Oasis of the South America Region are found here Arctic Ocean - The extreme colds of the North Pole Region are located here Southern Ocean - The freezing depths of the Antarctica Region are here Portals Atlantean technology has arisen from the dark depths of abysses unknown. With it however, it looks like traveling from region to region has become a whole lot quicker, but perhaps even more dangerous. Pathfinder Portals - The privateers before you have taken it upon themselves to start studying the portals as well as providing safe passage through these portals. Located within Rookie Cove and Central Waters, these portals will transport you between these regions! Perpetual Portals - It seems the Atlanteans created a sort of oceanic highway. A free, reliable way of travel between regions. They have arisen from the depths and are available for all to travel through and explore! Damaged Portals - In the thousands of years Atlanteans have gone missing, not all of the portals have been kept in functional shape or have been left unfinished. These portals need some extra gem power to travel through. Be warned these do not stay open forever! Cost: Magic Marrow: 50 Gold Coin: 250 Central Portal - Seemingly, this seems to be the first type of portal ever created! However, it seems to have been keeping something away rather than allowing others in. Located in the Central Waters Region only, it seems to need power stones to open. Will you be the first to see what's on the other side? Power Node system Transient Nodes Transient Nodes are special locations on islands that allow for unique resource harvesting. They have a time limit of one week before they deplete, despawn, and respawn at a different location. Movement Transient Nodes will move from one location on an island to another within the same server. They can move anywhere on the same island, there are no height restrictions. Resource Current new resource that is able to be gathered is "Cursed Bone Chips". There will be additional resources in later updates. Harvesting structure A new autofarm harvesting structure has been added. The "Grave Digger". It is craftable at the Smithy. Players must first learn the skill Knowledge of the Old Ones, in the Piracy skill tree, to learn how to build this structure. Static Nodes Static Nodes are permanent structures found on several islands in the Central Ocean. They provide new resources and the ability to create a unique themed crafting structure. At this crafting structure, you will be able to craft several new structures. Army of the Damned Static Node Damned Altar Cursed Altar Resources Current new resource that is able to be gathered is "Cursed Wood". There will be additional resources in later updates. Structures Buildable at Static Nodes Damned Smithy - The Damned Smithy is similar to the regular Smithy, except that it only allows you to craft Army of the Damned themed structures and gear. Buildable at an Army of the Damned Altar. Ritual Pedestal - The Ritual Pedestal allows players to perform powerful island wide spells / buffs called Rituals. There are three available to players at this time. Sacrifice Collection - Causes all creatures and players to drop their hearts when they are killed. Collect these hearts and bring them back to the Ritual Pedestal for use in the Raise the Dead Ritual. Unnatural Fog - Causes the island to be covered by a thick fog. This means, during bonus rate events, imprint timers will automatically adjust to compensate for the quicker maturation. v401.10 - Disabled Claim Flag height limit on all Official Network. Functionality still works and can be used on Unofficial Servers, a word from our Lead Designer: v401.9 - Disabled Claim Flag height limit on PvE servers (only meant to be active on PvP) v401.5 (Server 401.8) - Islands on the Official Network now have a maximum z-value for how high Claim Flags can be placed, unique to the island. These are based on the highest terrain points, before considering mountains, large rock formations or steep pillars. The in-game HUD will let you know whether your current claim flag is in a valid location. If your claim flag is not in a valid location, when attempting to place a new one you will receive HUD feedback informing you whether a spot is valid or not. Players will have approximately a month (Mid/Late November) to reposition their flag to a new location. We'll provide a more specific date closer to the patch which changes this. When placing the flag at the new spot, it will automatically destroy the old claim flag and transfer the inventory into the new flag. - Unofficials can activate this setting by changing the following config in their game.ini: MaxSettlementFlagZ = 999999 (default, which means FlagZ can be placed at 99999 z height above the per-island specific height). This is an offset value, if you adjust this, it will use the per-island specific max height + the offset. For example, making it 3000 will look for the highest 'legitimate' location on an island, and then add an additional 3000 z to that height to determine the flag's maximum location. The following game.ini config can be used to destroy all invalid claim flags, please be advised that this cannot be reversed once done: bDestroyInvalidSettlementClaimFlags=true - Fixed a bug which prevented Unofficial Servers on Xbox from being able to see the map v400.63 (Server Only) - Online Players (no changes towards offline or NPC Crew) can only contest flags (defending or attacking) when in one of the following states: > When a player is grounded (e.g walking on the ground) > When a player is seated (e.g sitting in a chair) > When a player is riding a creature (This means player states such as climbing ladders/picks, gliding, etc will no longer contest flags) - Contesting flags can only happen when a player is above -300 on the z-axis (basically, above the ocean/sea level) - Code change for client compatibility v400.62 - Voice chat fixes - Fixed a bug that prevented you from being able to modify the radius-checks for Yelling, Whispering, and Talking. - Fixed a bug related to locking on v400.61 - Fixed 2 client side crashes that could occur on server-load or transition v400.60 - Fixed description on song "A Mockatoo Once Told Me" - Dynamic nameplate scaling enabled on ships - Fix for NPC crew members occasionally missing the accordion visually in their hands v400.59 - Fixed forge giving graphite instead of base coal - Fixed typo in Pistol Steady Aim skill. - Very tall character's head is no longer cut off in the inventory view - NPC Crew Accordion: npc's can equip accordion and play songs("loaded" on accordion or first in inventory) using multi-use option "Play Song" song is consumed after start, buffs will be applied after first loop of song is completed song will loop until "Stop Song" option is selected from multi-use v400.58 - Fixed a bug which prevented silos from paying/feeding crew on Lawless Servers - Fixed a bug which caused ground clutter to flicker on Xbox v400.57 - Added missing ceiling when building ramshackle sloop with vendor in Freeport - Enabled Revolver reload mini-game - Fix: When you use the map camera while piloting ship, the compass won't hide from the view - Added missing Forest dye craftable to grill - Changed salted fish stack size from 30 to 50 - Moved pipe engram into pipes folder - Applied treasure gold multiplier buff to: floatsam/aodloots/shipwrecks - Lawless regions on officials should no longer show any "island points" on the map. - Beds on cooldown are now visible (it will indicate when a player can spawn on them) v400.56 - Fixed a bug which causes your map to be black with HDR enabled on Xbox v400.54 - Volumetric fog and ground clutter improved and enabled for Xbox One (and Xbox One S) - Fixed a bug where the shift key would stop responding on Xbox - Fixed a bug which would cause the camera to always be selected when pulling out your map with a gamepad - Fixed a bug which causes your map to be black with HDR enabled on Xbox - Enabled multiple client-side options for players to disable HUD/UI clutter - You can now fill water barrels directly from waterspouts - Improved Army of the Damned animation on Xbox One and Xbox One S - Right bumper now cycles between two inventory UIs - R3 now toggles use states (for example light fires) again - Fixed a bug which made navigating between rows in two separate inventories reset location - Fixed a bug where some fantasy creatures weren't tamable on Golden Age servers - Lawless Servers now check for structures (at a small radius) before spawning folliage to prevent trees/rocks/bushes from spawning inside bases. - Fix to destroy sunken ships when last structure is removed - Added HUD callout on handheld map to re-center on players - Fixed a server-side crash for Modded Servers which have modified their loot tables v400.51 - Fixed structure tiling textures. The new modal construction system should make 45 degree foundations and ceilings as easy as the 60 degree ones. Adding these to the game would give the base-builders so much more creative freedom!

Lies. Wildshot clearly has never hired a PR person in their lives or they wouldn't have botched launch communication so badly and then have to have a developer step in and be lead CM because no one would do it.

Score one for the guy who actually paid attention in biology class while the rest of us were trying to Google octopus pr0n. I mean the rest of you. I don't do stuff like that. Obviously. Don't look at me in that tone of voice.

I don't know. I complained about your font color and you changed it. That makes my eyeballs feel better. Kidding aside, thanks btw. Normally I don't like to ask for things that might crimp someone's individual style, but it was pretty hard to read your posts, and I think you've got something to contribute, so being able to comfortably is nice.

This is what Jat had to say in his musings posted yesterday: PvE Exploits Not going to share what the exploits are, that would be unwise…although I suppose for those of you who weren’t aware, you might be with my post. We had some hotfixes and patches go out today following the release, mostly just to resolve things that had been overlooked/missed in the update and some exploit fixing… as well as deal with the menacing rapid-firing Ship of the Damned that we introduced ourselves. whether that applies to the thread topic is open to interpretation, but if it doesn't, I'd be more than a little surprised.

And they're making it even easier. Prior to 10 I was thinking I'd have to make several trips to get the resources I need to tame the animals on my island. Now? Berries is all I need. Seems to work for most anything except the wolves and I just kill a few of them to get the bones I need to tame them with. As for comparisons to EVE: In EVE, I was a huge trader dealing mostly in buying mission drops cheaply and then recycling them into minerals. In Atlas, tossing shit on the ground and hoping the other guy you're dealing with does the same is not an economy. In EVE, I could always get in a mining barge, run out to belt in high sec and make a few coins if I needed and easily deal with the rats that spawned. In Atlas, I can't even leave my house to chop down a tree because of the 5 wolves and 3 alpha vultures circling overhead. I still have not fully explored the island where my claim is. In EVE, I could always hop in a freighter and, with relative safety, run to a trading hub and make a few coins selling my excess on the market. In Atlas, my sloop hasn't lifted anchor in days because of the constant threat of SotD. Seeing a video of a galleon chewed to bits by a green SotD with bugged guns convinced me this has been a good decision. In EVE there is hundreds and hundreds of zones to explore that easily supported a population of 50,000+. You could even find zones that no one had been in in days. In Atlas, you open your back door to take a piss and you're likely pissing on someone else's house. I played EVE for around 13 years before I finally got bored of it and was happy to pay them the monthly fees till I did. Even then I knew there was so much that I had no knowledge of. In Atlas, I feel like I've already discovered most of what it has to offer and I've barely left my island. EVE? Atlas? No. There is no comparison. Can I hope there will be? Oh yes. Oh yes.

i seriously dont get why complexity is put on the same page as , for example, harvest rates. the game can be super complex, yet not too grindy to play. its all a level of risk vs reward. if you want the best loot ? go to the most dangerous places. which , right now, is everywhere and it does not scale at all. there is no natural order of progression in the game. you are stuck on lvl 1-8, then get thrown to the wolves,. literally as you will not be able to defeat a lvl 3 wolf if it hits your first, you have no high ground and no water to get it swimming. also, a lvl 36 wolf might be right next to a lvl 1 snake. how is that a natural progression ? if you are lvl 10, you are cannonfodder for every mob out there, except the slow ones. and you keep being cannonfodder, except the ones you can kite or can shoot from away or above. a lvl 40 char with the right weapon is as danerous in battle as a lvl 10 with a flame arrow. sharks in lawless are as deadly as they are in the middle of the map. it all makes no sense whatsoever. trading is not needet at all as there is no incentive of foing it. politics instead of all out warfare will probably never establish because there is no incentive in doing so... griefing is more efficient than real pvp and battles. if it continues like this, the servers will consolidate more and more until theres only two mega tribes left (or alliances) that meet in the middle and battle it out, OR do offline raids as in ark whoever thinks that grinding days for a schooner is fun gameplay needs to wake up. only because somelarge companies can do it and others cannot does not make the game harcode. dieing evere 5 minutes to restart from scratch s not harcore. it is bad game design. any MMO should not be played because you get "the best loot.. highest weapons" but because the content the sandboix allow you to create. I havent met so many players in atlas yet that really want to create content. most just want to see the world burn.

This looks incredibly cool. We only bothered to slap a stone box with few scout windows on higher level. Don't have talent to making nice buildings, only know how to make symetrical stuff lol. Also did not bother with anything nice bcs... wolves, everything needs to be practical in this tower defense. So an area CAN be walled off and have no animals spawn inside?, would love to know how to find those spots... however, think have 1 spot inside hom so propably would have to scrap half the house and somehow wall that or... dunno how to stop spawning. (2 times horses spawned and today once wolf which killed us when asleep and lost all gear... mmm fun)

1-2 weeks is a long time? If it was your base and you couldn't play due to RL, 1-2 weeks were probably too short.

Could you make the sails behave like their real life counterparts? At the moment the sails always have to be 'pushed' which makes no sense. Real sails only get pushed between downwind and 90 degrees to the wind. Once they start heading upwind they work like a wing! The pressure difference makes a "pull" effect which is why an upwind sail still curves. Also triangular sails are much better at upwind and square sails are much better at downwind. So instead of speed and handling sails we should have advantages for getting closer to the wind etc.. Eg: a boat with a triangle sail would be able to sail at about 25 degrees to the wind, whereas a square rigged boat can only get 35 degrees to the wind and is also not as fast. On the otherhand on the downwind straight the square sail would be much faster. This would also allow us to use the wind tactically in battles depending on our setup. It may also facilitated the need to only use certain sails for particular situations It would also be nice to introduce more sails that can be attached to the current masts: spanker, gib and staysail

Indeed I did, what is the issue with such a thread? Its interesting and I enjoy reading peoples trials and tribulations. If you don't like it, don't read or post within it.

I'm a little surprised that the super annoying groaning noises made it to Ark 2, and I'd like to be able to turn them off. They're dumb. I've got a HUD for a reason. All in all, great game. Audio is trash though.

At this moment, I have 3 alpha vultures trying to eat their way into my house. They've already destroyed all my tames. What part of this is supposed to be fun?
  43. 2 points
Don't want to be forced to have tames, they should not focus on them, they just should not nerf them. The wildlife is the problem, not tames. The tames would need thousands or tens of thousands of hp to fight all those predators and alphas spawning.

WHICH ONE!? I have six people in my company and we have over a dozen ships between us. The brigantines in particular have many crew. Given the small set of name options for the RNG, when one mutinies or suddenly keels over for no apparent reason, we have to conduct a wild goose chase to find out which ship it happened on. Logically, whomever told us that the NPC died would also be able to tell us what ship they were on and why they left. Please have the notice inform us which ship was affected and why they mutinied. Secondly, please allow us to rename our NPCs. I'm roleplaying an Irishman. I'd like to give Irish names to my crew. Allowing us to rename our crew would also make it trivial for us to have something like "<Seahorse> Ronan Callahan has mutinied! (Starving)"

I stepped down as leader from a 150 man PvP company so I could make a new character on PvE as a merchant. Brought a handful of my close friends with me and we built our base and started a schooner. Really fun to role play it out as something like “grizzled pirate veteran leaves a life of crime to try and start an honest living.” One day I want to try and write all this stuff out as a story and this feels like a sequel to the first part where all I did was fight other pirates and try to defeat the Zerg.

Anyone saying "just level up and kill them" obviously hasn't seen just how bad wolves are. They always spawn in groups of at least 2 and have a tendency of spawning right behind players. Have about 300 Hp at level 1. Attack 3 times a second for about 25 damage on a naked person. Have a larger attack range than any melee weapon. Knock you flying 10-20ft with every hit. Run faster than a player ever can (and for longer). Can attack through walls/ships. Have a massive aggro range and almost never drop aggro. They also roam around a lot because of how their AI works (they chase and kill any animal in their aggro range, so they move around constantly). There is no way to fight them fairly. Saying "just get a pike" is stupid. You'll land one hit by the time they land 6-9 hits and by then you'll be dead anyway. The only way to deal with wolves right now is. Shoot them from a safe place (up a cliff, building, trap them and so on). Hope they attack a bear (a bear can kill 1 wolf, but 2 wolves kill a bear) or an alpha so it kills them. Very unreliable but a blunderbuss can 1 shot kill them if you do it at point blank range and get a decent headshot. Only works vs 1 wolf (and they come in packs). That is it. Outside of this, wolves will just kill you. Your best bet is to just avoid them, but if you can see their health bar you're probably already dead.

As a former EVE player, I wholly agree with you in part! I think that's a fantastic vision for the PvP cluster. As a career-carebear, I don't like conflict with other players, period. I love minecraft, Age of Umpires and games like Ark on private PvE servers. I'm happy to shell out my money for games like that. The 1.0 game gets dull pretty quickly; There's only so much fun to be had running missions and mining kernite. I'd still like to have fun with more difficult content but I have no desire at all to fight other people. I think your vision is quite compatible with PVE; just need to prevent player combat and remove the opportunities for griefing (which I feel should also be removed on PvP servers because griefing is a shitty substitute for PvP.) I think resource scarcity and an open market would still generate a rich and vibrant dynamic. I just wouldn't have to spend my play time constantly in fear of losing all my stuff because some punk in his mother's basement is jacking off while suiciding his drone-domi on my hauler in 0.7.

Please quote the design spec you're reading from that says only mega groups are allowed...no solos or smaller groups. Or are you a dev in disguise? You don't have any more say in what this game is than the rest of us if you haven't got something like that, so put up or shut up.
