  1. could you give the cog a specific set of sails so it doesn't look so miniscule compared to the boat? kinda like the kraken rail, have cog handling, weight and speed
  2. I love this game! however it is getting quiet. It is supposed to be an MMO and there is nothing keeping mmo style players in the game. Here is my suggestion for a new 'mega update' -fix and then bring pirates settlements to official. -Every large island should have an npc faction on top of this which offers quests/ jobs. This town would be a sanctuary from pvp and have shops which you can buy or sell things to. -in order to claim a large island your company needs to have enough members and have enough influence with the local npc town. ie: you have to do jobs for them and keep doing them -if another company wants your claim they need to have enough members, get on the same reputation level and 'bribe' the npc's with gold. -smaller islands would have the current claim system, except pirate factions can spawn a certain distance away from the flag. -put NPC faction ships on the sea. Depending on their faction they will either pull you over to search your hold for contraband or try and steal your wares. -make a pvpve server. This would have pvp hot spots in areas of rare resources, safe waters and pvp waters, havens' in which to have a base which is not going to be raided pvp. This would be a big update, but it would bring a whole new level of depth to the game. Allowing you to do another launch event, potentially making more money for the coffers. It also future proofs your game, as you can open new 'quest areas' and 'storylines' which can be dlc like ESO or a monthly membership that would allow access to all dlc. So i'm not just asking for content here, I want it to be profitable for grapeshot because i want you to keep making marvels like this! and lets be honest Atlas is already amazing!
  3. New server type PVPVE -Structures on land to be un raidable (no player damage) -Claims to work on the PVE server rules -PVP is allowed against players, Animals and ships. While offline Ships and animals take no player damage Explanation: This would allow those (Like me) who don't have the extra time to keep a full pvp base up and running to enjoy the game and the PVP aspect without fear of being logged off for too many hours. I believe this server type would be great for player shops and encourage piracy as oppossed to base raids (You have to leave your island for more resources and to buy stuff so it gives the pirates something to hunt!) I think the server would have a really interesting dynamic by having more sea battles, more players willing to trade and a less salty environment (If you can only be attacked when you are in a position to defend yourself it doesn't hurt so bad

  5. You mean like the 30% sailing upwind speed and being able to magically reverse the ship you are right though, im probably the minority
  6. Could you make the sails behave like their real life counterparts? At the moment the sails always have to be 'pushed' which makes no sense. Real sails only get pushed between downwind and 90 degrees to the wind. Once they start heading upwind they work like a wing! The pressure difference makes a "pull" effect which is why an upwind sail still curves. Also triangular sails are much better at upwind and square sails are much better at downwind. So instead of speed and handling sails we should have advantages for getting closer to the wind etc.. Eg: a boat with a triangle sail would be able to sail at about 25 degrees to the wind, whereas a square rigged boat can only get 35 degrees to the wind and is also not as fast. On the otherhand on the downwind straight the square sail would be much faster. This would also allow us to use the wind tactically in battles depending on our setup. It may also facilitated the need to only use certain sails for particular situations It would also be nice to introduce more sails that can be attached to the current masts: spanker, gib and staysail
  7. company rank system defaults inventory rank to person building it (in this case rank 5). It won't let us change it so we have had to disable the rank system. Would it be possible for everything to default to 0 and we manually put up? Main thing is access inventory rank is 5 also, while company ranks is active, pressing F to access inventory doesn't work
  8. can we make beds on rafts harder to kill? or even impossible without sinking the raft? I can accept my crate being robbed, but to destroy my only spawn in the game just for fun and send me back to the beginning is a little brutal
  9. as said in the title. Is an admin able to move my raft into another sector perhaps? so that I can at least spawn on and continue instead of starting from scratch again?
