  1. The only naval fight I had fun was in the beginning of the server we had no npcs. in a schooner using the canons manually, the capital said go to portside or shoot starboard side. I find ship battles very boring. Only the capitan have fun, others are just playing hammer and bucket simulator, until you are boarded and granades destroy you. I would like to use the canons and let NPCs repair the ship or the planks to set automatic. It Would be cool if players could use a top deck morter, or something useful im battle that cannot be used by a NPC. NPC take all the fun and leave the boring tasks to players. This game is all about people having their personal ships, and when you are raided you have 2 people online having to move 12 ships anchored fully manned of NPC. As a crew member, in a ship battle you can only do podium, hammer, bucket, gliding and trying to board a ship when you are not laggy rendering a ship. Shooting canons is something NPCs do better. Devs should go and play blackwake until they realize what is a naval fight.

  3. The wipe is so close that I can almost smell it. It would be foolish to think the wipe is not coming after watching steam charts of active players, and the fact that they didn't release a major update in months, they were saving a lot of new stuff to attract players after the wipe.
  4. 1.- render lag, and lag in ship battles. 2..- maps disappearing when looted in the shore. Maps in pillars. Maps in foundations or close to structures made by players. AoD stuck in mesh. 3.- tames stuck in mesh forever, when doing maps. Tames stuck in pits. 4.- all defense towers NPC being completely useless against ships, crabs or high level players with overgeared items. 5.- gold sink of maintaining the useless NPCs, leading you to point number 2 and 3 in my list. A repetitive cycle of boredom. 6.- losing ships for random reasons, losing ships when getting to close to the shore at 10% speed, losing ships when trying to go throw a large behemoth and crashing with the door closing, close the door when your ship is going half of the behemoth. The ship will bounce around doing 360 degree circle. 7.- encouraging megas to be the center of the game, locking content behind powerstones, neglecting solo players and small tribes letting them become cannon fodder for megas. Until they left. And megas left after losing their prey.

  6. You just said, enclosed structures. Not all structures are enclosed. Raided structures spawn AoD inside. if only the roof or a wall is missing. They spawn inside. Spawns of maps a defined places. I had did 5 maps in the same spot before. I builded foundations over a pillar in a owned island and they respawned over foundations. If you kill them you can't loot the treasure because shovel don't magically penetrate stone. One of my favorites is when they spawn over a platform. You cant shovel either because you can only crawl under the platform, but not dig. Maps always spawn in the same pillars, when the map is at level of sea there are more spawn points, but when the map is in natural pillars or over boulders is always the same spot. Block all the AoD spawning points with stone foundations. The game will keep generating maps for that areas. They always spawn in the same areas, anyone that had done thousand of maps in the same island know this. 90% of the maps I did maps where common maps farmed in the same location, 1 grid away of my island. My island had 20 natural pillars and AoD only spawned on one of the 20 pillars. So yes the areas are defined and you can know where this pillars spawns will be.
  7. The diferente between berrys and veggies, is vegetables last longer than berrys, the berrys weight more than veggies, when the baby is born his inventory is very limited. Like 1% of the weight, when is growing that % increase until.he reach 10% and can feed from feeder doesn't matter anymore when it reach juvenile. You can deposit in his inventory more veggies than berrys that's the only difference.
  8. Offer random generated quest based on the reputation of someone. Better reputation, you get better quests. Give equip already crafted with no extra % increased by int. It would be nice that normal players can get fine, journament, mastercraft, legendary or mythical gear like armors, melee weapons, ranged weapons, pistols. Depending of what the quest is the reward. Could be a farming quest and you get a legendary shovel. Or a quest of killing a NPC in golden age, and you get a gun. Or a quest of fish a rare fish and get a fishing rod mythical. You need to do great quest with good rewards. The gear have to be good like myth legendary or mastercraft. Like 95% of the general population have no items better than fine. Usual players dont move more than 2 grids away from their islands. Let them take quest in Freeport and get some useful items. People will raid more to get more items. And if you are wiped you can always do quest to recover some items, you dont need to travel around the world to get good stuff for equal PVP. Right now only big tribes or organized have access to end game weapons and equipment, the pvp is not fun when an average Joe with common equipment have no chance to fight a guy full mythical that can tank carbine headshoots. Or implement a shop to sell stuff in Freeport, the coin to buy is points for quest. Also give experience with every quest.

  10. I sailed yesterday to do two mastercraft maps to A14. Like 20 grids away. I had a route of 8 maps on lawless before reaching A14. I did 2 fine of the 8 maps. 3 of the maps were in cliffs and throwed them. Another one was over a base with puckles. One of the maps was over stone foundations, couldn't use a shovel over freaking foundations. My favorite map was one that was in a cliff base, I somehow made it, jumping with a tiger to the area, I got stuck between structures and AoD., couldn't move and the tiger with the maps of A14 was killed. Couldn't recover the maps, because AoD don't despawn when the map holder die or no one is doing that map. It was a blue map and I only had an option. Throwing myself in a hole full of lvl 50+ AoD and trying to kill them with the sword, circular blade didn't help me in this one. I had to go back 8 grids to my base. And still don't know if the 2 mastercraft maps i got had structures or were on a freaking mountain. I lost 4 hours to do 2 fine maps of 800. What a waste of time. I will rather do 40 shitmaps in close islands, but there is no other way to get exp past lvl 80 faster than maps. Not to mention that I expend from Monday to Friday collecting maps. all my week to collect over 500 maps. With a 50% of maps over 14 quality dissapear when you collected and still got 2 maps mastercraft, and throwed other 300 because were useless maps of low gold and exp.
  11. It could be, if the information is not relayed the map dissapear, the far the map is difficult for server to generate it. But I dont think the game check if there are no structures in the map, I often receive maps with respawns over foundations, there's a thread of a guy who lost all his tames to a mastercraft map spawning in his PEN.
  12. I know all the respawn points of maps in my island. Building over pillars is advised. You are in PVE you dont have to be a douche about blocking spawns. If you were in PVP I would understand if you blocked spawns to maintain a defensive position. But since is PVE I can only say that is something you did to yourself placing yourself in this position.
  13. I dont know if someone had posted it yet but I picked 4 maps quality 13 to 15. I only looted 1 of 4 maps. Is ridiculous and is happening in all the islands. I usually gather 200 to 300 maps every week before Saturday and 75% of the high quality maps I pick in the shore are bugged and dissapear not giving me a map.
  14. Yes, pillars maps suck. I used to buil swivels on top of pillars in my local island to do this maps, but not anymore. Devs haven't fixed yet the bug of maps quality 15 or more disappearing when taking them.
  15. I don't think that's the case. I had seen maps dissapear in low maps areas or literally in areas where there are maps very far from each other. I state this bug is only for bottle maps that are not common. If the Sprite is the regular bottle. This bug rarely happen, but if they Sprite is the other one there is a high chance. I farm like 200 maps every week and throw half. People told me that is because you have the same map already, but that's false. I had farmed literally 5 maps in the same spot of the island with no issues. Quality 8 or higher the Sprite of the map is different and is when the bug happens.
  16. Its a bug that happend sometimes, I noticed that if you get closer to the bottle and dont move, there is a higher chance to get the map. I loss maps that are 8 quality or higher when I recollect quickly while moving. This dont happens with the common quality. This happend only with a Sprite different that the common bottle map.
  17. High risk, high reward. I like it. The more gunpowder in the barrel more damage and more heavy. It would be awesome to make it impossible for gliders in tower to use this tactic, they will need weight to carry a barrel that will do more damage. We kill two birds in a row. Increased weight when carrying a barrel, increase the fall speed and gliding speed when using glider. That will be awesome. Also shooting a glider and exploding him would be fun to watch. You could decide if you go with a 20% barrel or 30% barrel or 100% full gunpowder barrel. More weight= more damage. We will have the option of using 5 barrels of 20% or one of 100%, when having a barrel of 100% is overkill most times.
  18. well, propose a system for PVE that maintain people interested. Like ranking of who have the most financial resources, as you said, per week or month. The island of the week My idea was for pvp server, I consider that pvp need wipes once in a while to reset the balance of power. If ark proved something is that you can't maintain a server of 5 people for years. It doesn't matter if there are space available if you wanted to play in an old ark pvp server. You will be murdered in the moment you login. The alpha start looking for you in the moment you are in steam players, they track you find you and obliterate you. You end up with several mini servers of 2/60 people online and casuals joining for few days before they are wiped, camped and destroyed, until the servers are closed forever and players inside ask why? They destroyed the playerbase. The same tools to track people exist here in atlas. When this thing is empty they are going to explore and wipe the "new players" that will play the game and eventually sink it. Most people want to start in equal foot and the only way to achieve that is with seasons. If you want players to fight between them with ships, create events for pvp as a lot of players suggested. For example something like capture the flag or Participants get their ships copied to a random island of the server ( in a event server ) an area where they kill each other until one survives. Depending of the rank you get a reward. Only ships in Freeport participate. This event happen every 6 hours and people dont lose anything when they are eliminated. You can either do some kind of event to finish the pvp server. Or try to maintain the game interesting with pvp match were no one lose anything. The last will require more investment for servers to hold players in matches. but the first one is only code and probably do a ranking system and some rewards. Or you can wipe the server like the last time, telling them that you are pressing the reset button again, with no real incentive to keep playing and no sense of accomplishment when finish because everything you did mean nothing after the rates are 12x and you feel the emptiness of wasting your time for no purpose. Receiving a medal or something to show off matter.
  19. Add some feature called vacation time, structures will decay in 20 days and can only be used once in a year. Problem solved everyone happy. Cooldown 365 days, cost 10000 gold. Have fun. Or a ticket that extend 10 days your structures 100 k gold, can be used any time, or 1 gold for every structure you have, I bet some tribes will have to pay a grotesque amount of gold for this. But Bob's will have it almost free because they live in tatch huts of 3x3.
  20. Auction house killed diablo 3. What would be cool is having an interface that show you stores in real time, or show you the offers. So you decide if worth traveling to get deals, maps or blue prints.
  21. Yeah, seasons is the way to go. Games with 0 content can make it, just look diablo 3. They just create a new armor set, do some ranking system and people is farming countless times for the ranking and the casual players play for the reward. Same as league, a lot of people only want to be gold to get the skin in the season. Devs have more time to develop between seasons. People have an objective to do, people who want to tame do useless and random stuff can live in the background and be ignored by megas. In my experience after the 100 days when megas are focused on winning the server. Little guys who want revenge can do a lot of damage when mega alliances are focused on other stuff and ignore grids.
  22. Depend of the pillar and the terrain, most cases not all the AoD jump with you, others stuck in the mesh, specially archers. Some areas have impossible to escape pits, if you or a AoD fall there, is impossible to make him fall. Nades used to kill this guys, now you need to stuck your tame in the pit, or jump with a sword. Gun is not always viable, the DPS is too low and the AoD usually full heal after some time of reloading guns.
  23. This is my idea. I will talk about the pvp aspect. This game have to be played by cycles or seasons just like travian (browser game based on grids). The game needs a end game because is not sustainable playing this game for months without being tired of doing the same stuff, the lack of content and the nature of a pvp game when a lot of players are wiped or destroyed and stop playing after another wipe or more content. Let's copy the idea of building the wonder to 100%. Just like travian. Once one of the tribe make the wonder, the company who built it win the server. The wonder that won will have a top ranking 100 of who made more contributions I will explain it later. And another general ranking of the top 100 players for players of other tribes that lost the server but dont want to feel shitty about it. The rules are simple, the wonder can only be constructed using blueprints of construction of wonder. And there will be a limited amount of blue prints of construction, a tribe need 1 blue print of construction to build a wonde from level 0 to level 50, after that level you will need to have another blue print of construction to build from 50 to 100. The blue prints of construction will spawn after 100 days of game in a random lawless island for each region. Maybe we can set a timer for this and we can define it the blue print will appear in a flotsam, in the beach inside a bottle map, or in the island, no one will know where it is until someone pick it. After someone pick it. Everyone will be able to check the map and know the current position in real time, just like the ghost ship ( if worked as intended). If the construction blue print is destroyed it will respawn again in a lawless area of the grid area it was from. The golden ages ruins can be taken after the day 130. You will need to clean the island with land troops to take it, killing some mini bosses in the process, you will need people. Once the golden age Island is in your hands, you will be able to start the construction of the wonder, the first 50 levels will require only 1 type of resources of wood, tatch, stone and metal per level. And will require different resources, like 2 types from 60 to 70, 3 types 70 to 80, 4 types 80 to 90, 5 types from 90 to 95, 6 types for the last 5 levels. This event will take weeks or months to complete. There will be 9 wonders of different tribes and a ranking system to check who is leading with more % in the wonder. Different tribes will use different strategy to level up their wonders, for example resistance, food, storage space to be able to set more resources in the wonder, this will be decided by the admin of the wonder. What attributes to level up in the wonder is something we can discuss. There will be multiple ways to stop a wonder, one could be stole the construction Blue prints ( the cant queue levels once they lose the construction blue print, there will only be allowed to have one level in progress and another in queue). If you lose the construction blue prints you cant level up levels of the wonder, but you can level up other stuff like storage for more resources in the wonder, resistance in the wonder, food for troops, I dont know we can think about this later. With a end server event like this we have 100 days (or less) to fool around, prove new stuff, and after that big company's will focus in leveling up the wonders, and average Joe's are not going to be harassed in the meantime. Big tribes will need to focus on the wonder and forget other random stuff like islands and wars. All the attention will go to who make it faster. Big tribes will fight each other to prevent other tribes of "winning the server". Megas will be forced to fight each other instead of making alliances and harassing new players or small company's. We will talk about the rewards later for the winners and the top 100 contributors in different areas, like sinking ships, resources, gold, kills, tames killed and so on. After the server is done you need to give people at least a month to rest mentally an physically. You can have at least one server open for no lifers or people who was destroyed and want to start flesh in another server. We can define what attributes can be level up in the wonder apart from levels, like bonus for the island you control if you level up something. We can discuss if the wonder can lose levels or completely destroyed if is attacked. How you attack a wonder. If the wonder can lose levels if is attacked we need to discuss how to prevent players for destroying all wonders and avoid a stalemate ( like increasing the resistance of the wonder over time, eventually the server have to end, trolling players shouldn't be able to stake infinite time). The endgame shouldn't be mythical guys destroying new players, taking all the islands and destroying every base. The end game should be achieving a goal, with group effort, farming work, strategy and some luck to complete, everyone can win when there are like 4 or 5 different groups trying to win. Certain restrictions should be made in order to prevent a group for monopolizing everything.
  24. I have always thought that maps in pillars were pointless. I always throw that maps. Usually is a waste of time going up there. Unless you do a ramp, but that's not viable since the auto decay. Fighting AoD over a pillar, cleaning the top berrys bushes every minute before they grow up again and block your vision or bug your character floating in the air is not cool.
