    Summed up in short Pre-crafted ships are Garbage. The excuse that exploits on ships are rampant is so lazy. No Blueprints, no use for resources, no use for sails. Just cookie cut versions that the devs which we already know are terrible at designing and implementing let alone following through with their ideas promised to expand upon. How? By allowing you to build 40 structures on the boat. Oh gee... They still have not fixed the bug where the precrafted ramming galleon's nose of the ship when down to 0 hp from 15k instantly sinks the boat despite the rest of the ship being repaired. If they cannot fix a precrafted ship thats been in the game since the start of the season why would you think they could bring in new boats that arent as broken if not more broken that what is currently in game. (wild how their solution to fixing something is to bring in a totally new system that's more flawed than the last) Some dev justified their job somehow by suggesting this swap is my guess. What are your thoughts about these pre-crafted ships and their effect on the future of PVP in the game. PVE aside. Also i feel the devs are brain dead with the new claim system they fail to realize mortars are a structure in this game capable of cross island hits. How are you going to defend against mortars when part of the island is in peace mortaring your part of the island in The new Kraken ship cannot turn without the sails open HOLY Crap thats terrible the new kraken ship also when the front or back plank are 0 hp Instantly sinks. Man Imagine still having a known bug in the "new" boat system and then adding onto it. If they implement the new system they should get rid of craft limits on blueprints and let it be like ark.We also neeed BP CRAFTING STATIONS to Craft the blueprints that require ALLOT of resources 500 slots please... This would make people farm more for resources not grind out RNG (what is this a fucking casino? ) for a bp that goes away after 2 fucking crafts or 5 sails.. after 5 months of looking for it.. that's garbage and you know it. We deserve infinity crafts on blueprints just like ark...this will push an economy into the game because you can sell pre-crafted boats for in game gold or other Blue-prints. New players could find a great gun port blue print or sniper or Armour and trade it for anything with another. If a mega tribe has multiple sail bps over a certain % it's in their best interest to trade them for things they lack.... Every one clutches their boats like pearls bc they are afraid to lose something they invested 4 months farming for. RNG in this game i repeat is garbage and you know it. NO ONE QUITS A GAME BECAUSE THEY CAN CRAFT AS MANY BOATS AS THEY WANT. combat.? @devs

    I've enjoyed this platform since launch. As a beta tester for most popular MMO's, I've been through a lot of radical changes. I've only ever seen1 change that destroyed a game and that was the NGE on NOV15, 2005 for the Starwars Galaxies game. This patch my friends, is not that bad, its just horribly executed. I get why they did it. With the announcement that this game will solely focus on the PvP aspects of the game, there was no consideration to you PVPers being forced to watch your bases getting taken over while you suffer continuous server side buffer crashes. It sucks, but thats what happens in PvP. I think its great they went back to the old school claiming system. this will allow more people to obtain lands. I picked up late this season and today I was able to claim 4 other companies bases. So of course I am very pleased. I went from the poorest beach bob to king of the island. Thank you devs! This is by far the biggest Dev grief I've ever witnessed on any platform and I have been around since UO/EQ times. As beta testers they can tell you oh well but lets all be honest. This game will never see an official launch. Having said that I think everyone can calm down. We wont get to enjoy this new found riches for long. They will wipe after they see how this goes on the PvP servers. just relax and go enjoy some netflix.

    Thank you George that you make the effort to show some details about the claim radius. How does it look in game? Does this patch show us that all complaines in the last week were not read by the Devs in this Forums? @Gortok@Nami@Chismebeard all absence in this forum since September... Well looks like there were no complains about it in Discord so far^^ Sorry but i have to be sarcastic at this point. I'd like to get paid for testing this game further.

    - One more thing. I'm solo and go 70 points. My neighbor have company of 18 ppl. He got 135 points. Meaning he can place like 33 tower around the map. It's 2 hours after the patch. Things are pretty intense on some lands : ))

    Ahoy Pathfinders! With this patch, we will be altering some mechanics and improving some features in preparation for changes to come in following patches. Mainly, we are introducing a new claim system for all lawless regions. Find some land, stake your claim tower, and defend your territory. Also in this patch, a new Seahorse saddle to ease the ride on our spiny friends, buffs to our latest ships, and other QOL adjustments. Lastly, we felt it best to provide an explanation regarding the latest server outages. Due to a read-only trigger, it seems our databases could no longer store information during the time of the incident and became desynced from the play servers. While our initial fix solved the problem on the master, the issue remained on the secondary and took a bit longer to remedy than anticipated. We apologize for any inconvenience but again, thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. To remedy the unfortunate side effects, we have decided that this will be the final patch before the wipe. This will allow us to work out any kinks with the new claim system before wiping. As always, we appreciate your support and ‘til next time, may your skies be clear, waters calm, and sails full in whichever way you roam. Released Patch Notes v523.8 New System: Area Claiming New Tower types have been added to claim land in lawless regions. Claiming gives ownership over an area, preventing any other companies from building there. A new claim also gives ownership over any buildings in its area. Destroying the tower removes the build prevention and allows anyone else to claim the area and its contents. The claimed area is visible on the map Claim Towers may be seen through concealment with the spyglass Claim Towers cost Island points, starting at 4 and maxing around 8 May claim Armored Docks and the ships inside them New Structure: Land Claim Tower This Tower must be placed on land. When first placed, it will start at 10% health, and slowly repairs itself and upon reaching 100% health will lay claim to the surrounding area of land. Claiming takes about 45 minutes without interference Enemies may damage the claim tower while it is building to slow its progress or destroy it Players may "repair" the tower for 2% health every 5 seconds (costs 100g) If a competing tower is built within the radius before this tower is complete, it is immediately destroyed New Structure: Water Claim Tower This Tower must be placed within already-claimed water.     Just wanna sum what I found so far about new lawless claims. - New structures outside claimed zones have just 12h decay. But those built before patch - have same 10/40 days timers. - Structures that built before towers appeared in territory goes to "claimed" state with no decay timer after tower appeared. Towers doesn't have decay timer as well. - Some pieces that built in claimed territory and attached to claimed structures - also goes to claimed state. - Structures that built in claimed territory and don't attached to claimed structures count as "not within claimed territory" and goes to 12h decay (this one is fixed). - Building on claimed territory that not yours is forbidden. Now about the towers. They are in "basic of building" skill, so no worries about extra skill point you need to spend for those. Costs: It fits 3x3 square (a little less). Water one has pretty cool night texture (but flag is down even after it hit 100%) It's not paintable, and flag also not paintable. It's white like you surrender lol : ) You can put one in unclaimed zone. Land Tower HP is 400 000 and it start with 40 000 health, It gains 400hp every 3 seconds. And hit 400 000 in 45 minutes. After it hit 400 000 you have your territory claimed. All buildings within your territory will be automatically claimed. If you destroy your tower, all building stays yours but goes to 12h decay (even those were in 10/40 days before claimed). Water Tower HP is 500 000 and it starts with 50 000 health. It gains 1k hp every 4 seconds after built. It claims additional territory in 30 minutes. You can speed it up putting 200 gold every 10 seconds to raise HP by 1%. For land tower you can speed up your building to 11 minutes 15 seconds. It'll require 13 400 golds. For water tower you can speed up your building to 10 minutes. It'll require 12 000 golds. ------------------- Your company have certain points for towers. - Solo company have 70 points. - Company of 18 ppl have 135 points. Each tower cost 4 points in the beginning and more you put in, more points it costs (6th one cost 5 points). You can not put 2nd land tower in claimed area: However you can put water tower in to land's tower area. But you can not put 2nd water tower in to 1st water tower area. If you put your tower right next to some players area, you'll have your area cut (Sry FH... didn't mention your windmill was there): And last thing. I you place tower and some other player will place his tower right near your tower - they both start to gain health. The first one that hits 400 000hp, will vanish all another towers within it's radius. Caution - the capture radius is not just green/red circle visible when you place your tower. But it's around 10 meters wider. So if tower will be placed at circle border or within 10 meters from outside the border - it'll be vanished as well.

    Dear devs, what exactly is the point in buying a small armored dock for 10.000 gold when just everybody can come along with a claim tower, taking your armored dock, your ship and all gold inside in just 45 minutes ?

    Just to put your mind at ease. The ships and tames inside the claim areas I've obtained did not steal the tames. Only the structures. If I can get in game i will verify if structures on the ship itself were claimed but rest easy your ships and tames are still yours. Except if they are in armored docks apparently

    Well, I enjoyed the game for several months, so I guess I should be grateful about that. This new patch has completely ruined the game for me. It makes absolutely no sense. Had to use most of our company land points just to claim farmhouses and warehouse. Now we can't even log into the game to feed our tames. Guess it's time to try Valheim.

    Just a heads up regarding "water claims" Even if this is patched and optimized and works as intended , it would only take about 4 minutes and 9k for somebody to demo their water claim and rebuild it, stealing another companies ship(s). Not missing something am I? Standing in the claim area doesn't slow the build time, right? Let me put it another way.. Player 1 "Sea Horses for sale!" Player 2 (noob) "I'd like to buy a Sea Horse..." Player 1 "Ok here ya go buddy..." Player 2 "Thanks, see ya."..."Hey what just happened...?" ** Feel free to substitute "Kill the Kraken" or "PvP against Jim Bob" in the scenario... ** The only protection would be... 1. To have a 3rd player watching the "water claim tower" like a hawk with their own tower, ready to instantly drop a defensive claim and have 9k on hand 2. Not conduct business or only do so very carefully ** Reminder Lawless Islands also pretty much surround Freeports (aka starter/noob area) ** Ya might want to reconsider making this a centerpiece mechanic, and continuing forward with a fresh start wipe, until you figure out how ya want to deal with this can of worms..     This game went from hearing the waves crashing and jungle noises while enjoying all the things this game has to offer, to being stressed out (because I'll probably be the less fortunate one after the dust settles) wondering where it will be safe to go in the game once I have the ability to log back in. The introduction of the towers was not thought through from what their functions are. My ships will be vulnerable to be claimed while I sleep by whomever claimed the shoreline that I'm anchored at using the claiming buoy. After the announcement of these claiming structures in the update all the toxic possibilities started running through my head. If you play the game you would know why this will restrict game play abilities not expand. I to somewhat understand what devs are trying to do but this creates more issues than it solves. I to feel the game will never officially launch because of these tail chasing ideas. I can't logically wrap my head around why the game isn't getting tuned by fixing bugs before we move on to implementing more broken things. Spending time coding in hats for animals is like a slap in the face when there's issues with just being able to play the game. I hope I'm not coming off as hating on the game because I this game has the potential to be epic. I just feel it's being driven into ground with a pile driver of short sighted ideas, horrible execution and lack of foresight. The players are their r and d team. If you were a developer, would you treat your team like the players are getting treated? By treated I mean lack of communication and ignorance? Sorry for the rant. Just want to be heard. P.s. I play in pve because I feel pvp to be to volatile and labor intensive, so maybe that's why my view is what it is.

After 25k plus hours in this game (YES that is correct) I thought I had seen it all but alas with every update and the stuffups that come from it just amaze me that these Devs of yours actually earn a salary. Grapeshot Games and your Devs have proven yourselves to the community time and time again. You DO NOT listen to us, and are certainly not honest with us. You DO NOT give due dilligence to your work. You DO NOT listen to reason. You DO NOT apply logic to your developments...and so this list could just go on and on. Your pompous, self-richeous arrogance leaves a LOT to be desired. Your pre-built ships are a joke (but no one is laughing) and are in fact so bloody terrible that you cannot even give them away! They are just an eyesore. You talk about improvements and balances...do any of you know what that means? EVERY update and your so-called improvements are a total disaster (Do not fix that which is not broken) When something is 'fixed' then guaranteed it reverts back to a worse situation before the 'fix' after each and every update. Today I have lost about 2 million in gold, rare resources and bases that took a lot of time and effort to secure - why? Well because you do not update the community as to what exactly will happen and just go ahead with your stupidity. If you hate this cash cow of yours so much, why not sell it to someone who actually would develop it into a world-class leading game? It has the potential for it as the many players have stated here over these past few years

    @Ranger1k - It's 400 000. - It seems that mortar will definitely reach tower within it's radius (I'll check one later if I get 1 mortar ammo) : )) - No tower within tower radius. So it just one. - It fits in 3x3 What I'm curious about is - how my claimed area will look like If I place tower right near some1 else's area. Wanna check this out. Also - what'll happen if I'm and other player will put towers near to eachother before they reach 100%?

    Actually, taking your point a step further, on PvE if you park your boat, disconnect, run to the store GO TO DO A MAP etc, for longer than 30 minutes I can just drop a claim on it and take it, I think... I could even be a dick, invite ya over to do something, when you log off or get distracted demo my water claim and instantly rebuild it for 20k stealing your ship, and boot your fucking tames into the ocean.. Wow...

    @Kummba @George Catcher or others.. How many HPs? I'm assuming a mortar (maybe even a large cannon?) can still be built just outside outside the radius and easily hit it? May as well ask, lol, can one built on a ship or in a submarine? How about on a horsecart?..Can I build a 2nd one on top of the first? Maybe a 3rd? Have them float mid-air all ridiculous maybe even crashing the server? Looks about 8x8 size? Just a lil bit of text spam, because we all know that as pirates we want to announce our location... Oh last things, theres a gap between non allied claims? Allied permission to build restrictions, on/ off toggle? Thx

    My early feedback: You cant see circles other then on map. You see a keepout area when oyu try to place on tho. The patchnotes ware wrong with the speedup its, 1% every ~30 seconds You dont get any notification other then someone place a tower in generall. Nothing when someone is claiming stuctures of you or is kinda contesting your tower. I got one of my 5 rafts that was parket in the tiny shipyard claimed, i could not do any other interaction then unanchor and scuttle, which i did as the structures on it belonged to the new owner. I havent seen any timer on the towers, are they static or loose hp over time? The point system seems completely out of protion, the radius is not big, but the amount of flags to place seems high. So they were thinking about a new claim system since november, what we got now is a bare minimum of something. And then they say, next will be wipe? What is with working markets, tradewinds, the lag and everything else. Did they finally found an propper angle to approach math?

    What I'm gathering here is that you need to place as many towers as you can before the first one hits %100 because after that happens nobody in that company can load in? Not sure. I couldn't see a radius around tower while placing. Could only see it when viewing the map. Demoed a couple trying to get my warehouse and farm in same radius. Looking forward to seeing 1/2 buildings claimed and other things that nature. Starting to think the crashing after the first tower was deliberate or dumb luck. Big companies' have only 45 min to claim entire islands after the first one is placed before the game crashes. I feel sorry for the guy that threw gold at it to speed it up.

    I think the more you place the more it costs i got down about 6 and the last one took 5 points to place. Then the game suddenly imploded and I can no longer log on. What does "outgoing reliable buffer overflow" even mean? Gibberish for "no compute"?

    Hmmm... my frist thoughts. - The servers now in huge tailspin. - Got crash. This one is new: - After my tower hit 100% my computer just froze. - Tower in basic of building. It's good in order to start again in lawless after WIPE. Now... - One tower has 4 points. My solo company have 70. It means I can place like 17 towers. Some dudes already doing that: Meaning, we going to 1st season back, where everything were overflooded by thousands of flags. The only difference - 1st season it was out of lawless and lawless was the only way to settle for small tribes. Now it's in lawless, so... If you didn't get a piece of land in the beginning, then you'll probably wont be able to settle at all. Same as in season 1. - Oh and... to speed it up, you can put 200 gold to get +1% Meaning to instantly get tower working you need 20K gold. - I would say there is a good thing there... from now on - no one can secure place their farms and warehouses over the island, but... well, everyone will have towers instead. - Oh and in PVE - you place your tower in Lawless and this territory is yours WITH NO DECAY!!! It means if someone will claim huge zone for fun, and then drop the game, his claims will stay like... for ever. Less chance for those who just join to find a spot.

    Well i get now over 13k gold in two days with 3 active routes of distance 30.00 which have all permanently 8-17 ships running. Keep updating your routes and hope you get one active player to trade with you. Or you may need to replace your market. If you only trade with your own islands markets you may get only 0 gold? You get cannon balls, gun powder, parrot eggs, wood, alloy and gem from events during the ships movement. Maybe your warehouse is unlocked and somebody stealing your gold? At H7 cold region there is all around cotton so nobody is really trading fibre... i only get hemp sometimes. Would be nice if the events would give me some sugar or crystal as well. I now have 40 parrot eggs... but get lots of iron and dark wood so far and have no 5 gems so easy submarine(after powerstones^^). Also events do not drop fibre or thatch. My issue is that i have lots of opal - gem nearby but can't place a farmhouse there due to worse terrain angle and other players farmhouse distance. I thin i could trade opal vs crystal next to me if i had opal^^ If i delete trade routes that did not get accepted so far i can't request them again?

    So your going back to the early seasons part of the claim system where you can steal other players bases and now even ships. There's a reason it was gotten rid of the first time. I can only suspect that no notes where kept back then, that new devs can learn from.

    stone wood thatch runns best fiber for fiber was working aswell and here we have the problem with the honey crystal trades... you can offer it, but the problem is to guess what it goes form is it wood is it gems is it iron, basically if you have a trade partner that has honey or crystal in the list you can try to make trades that trade fiber for honey or fiber for crystal this is based on that fact that in crystal areas is no fiber but crystal and gems but you can try every recource, you see instantly if it is working or not in the log. only accepted markets have a flow, ofc you can cancel or delete the other routs btw you can watch what your trade partner offers by revisiting the traderouts and look for your trade partner, over time some ppl offer more, you just have to guess or try what they want for it they have to be active tho and in laweless there is a great market flow but on claimed islands there is a rly bad one, idk maybe they don't need gold xd i think veryone that has a claimed island also playes on laweless anyway i think you need new trade routes

    @Nacona I had a .6 efficiency farmhouse, just as a coincidence, NOT on purpose, but just from rushing to squeeze 3 or 4 farmhouses near my warehouse a few hours after a wipe. Don't know if the efficiency was due to it being too close to another farmhouse, or because it didn't collect any wood, or because it was too close to the warehouse/ market. I think it was because it was too close to the warehouse because it was the closest and no other farmhouse had lowered efficiency. Anyway MAIN point was that the farmhouse was still buggy. Used to randomly shut off almost everyday. Sidenote coal used to be the best fuel. @George Catcher I actually feel bad. Maybe I was a bit rough on them in that last Announcement. Dunno. Yea I don't know some locations may just be glitchy for Markets for some reason that I am unaware of. I only have a small sample size.

    this is the worst boat in atlas, Worse steering than a galleon,sinks if 1 modular get destroyed, really really slow, the pointi thing at the front dosent clip in walls,cant place catapult,swivel, cant be painted, really really shit boat

    I've said in previous posts that i'd settle for less customization if it meant more realistic Pyrate ships. Sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. We seem to be getting disney kids Pyrate ships instead. Even potc had realistic ships and that was disney. In sea of thieves there are only 3 types of ship, and you get it back whenever you sink. But they do look like ships at least. and they do have furnished interiors so they are not like floating boxes, unlike atlas ships. I think in some ways early access can harm the direction of a game, because a dev may have a vision that gets waylaid due to player comments. It's glaringly obvious that the Atlas teem needs to hire a good leader with a fixed vision.

We have been working hard to introduce more realistic piratey elements into the game such as anchor turning and alternative methods to powering boat movement such as slave crew and oars. These changes are not possible without modular ship building which we are working hard to introduce! We believe this will provide pathfinders new ways to play and enjoy the game while delivering the most piratey experience possible! Please enjoy!

    Ship building is my favourite part of the game. However I would swap some of the build ability for more realistic Pyrate ships and decent interior design. When I first played ,the one thing that put me off from pvp were the floating fortresses that looked nothing like Pyrate ships at all, More like wooden pyramids. I don't want to play like that. But I havent liked anything about the pre fab items so far, ship or buildings.

    And the issues continue. I can connect once per DAY on my normal internet, if I crash or loose connection once I CANNOT get back online. So I have to swap to my cellphone internet. I need you to find what the fuck is wrong with your stupid servers please!

    Ahoy Pathfinders! With this patch, we will be altering some mechanics and improving some features in preparation for changes to come in following patches. Mainly, we are introducing a new claim system for all lawless regions. Find some land, stake your claim tower, and defend your territory. Also in this patch, a new Seahorse saddle to ease the ride on our spiny friends, buffs to our latest ships, and other QOL adjustments. Lastly, we felt it best to provide an explanation regarding the latest server outages. Due to a read-only trigger, it seems our databases could no longer store information during the time of the incident and became desynced from the play servers. While our initial fix solved the problem on the master, the issue remained on the secondary and took a bit longer to remedy than anticipated. We apologize for any inconvenience but again, thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. To remedy the unfortunate side effects, we have decided that this will be the final patch before the wipe. This will allow us to work out any kinks with the new claim system before wiping. As always, we appreciate your support and ‘til next time, may your skies be clear, waters calm, and sails full in whichever way you roam. Released Patch Notes v523.8 New System: Area Claiming New Tower types have been added to claim land in lawless regions. Claiming gives ownership over an area, preventing any other companies from building there. A new claim also gives ownership over any buildings in its area. Destroying the tower removes the build prevention and allows anyone else to claim the area and its contents. The claimed area is visible on the map Claim Towers may be seen through concealment with the spyglass Claim Towers cost Island points, starting at 4 and maxing around 8 May claim Armored Docks and the ships inside them New Structure: Land Claim Tower This Tower must be placed on land. When first placed, it will start at 10% health, and slowly repairs itself and upon reaching 100% health will lay claim to the surrounding area of land. Claiming takes about 45 minutes without interference Enemies may damage the claim tower while it is building to slow its progress or destroy it Players may "repair" the tower for 2% health every 5 seconds (costs 100g) If a competing tower is built within the radius before this tower is complete, it is immediately destroyed New Structure: Water Claim Tower This Tower must be placed within already-claimed water. It extends the claim radius out to sea to protect your harbors. Claiming takes about 30 minutes without interference May be repaired like the Land Claim Tower New Saddle: Seahorse Saddle The Seahorse Saddle can be crafted in the Tannery after learning the Underwater Taming skill in the Beastmastery tree. An equipped Seahorse Saddle is now required to ride a Seahorse Crafting Resources: 40 Fiber, 75 Hide, 20 Organic Paste Majestic Kraken Cannon damage increased from 150% to 160% Starting crew increased from 14 to 22 Dried Tentacle cost reduced from 75 to 50 Bug Fix: Deck widened on the middle level of the Majestic Kraken to cover the gap between the outer walls and deck Bug Fix: Cosmetic kraken meshes should no longer disappear Ramming Galley Cannon damage increased from 125% to 140% Starting crew increased from 14 to 18 Front Castle, Rear Castle, and Gunport Railings now appear damaged when at low health Bug Fix: 'Leaking' HUD text no longer appears when Gunport Railings are heavily damaged Ships A Ship Respec option is now available in the ship stat menu Ship Respecs costs 2,500 Gold which is consumed from the player's inventory Ships can be respec’d once every 48 hours A ship must be fully anchored in order to respec Increased the height of the lowermost deck on the Ramming Galley and Majestic Kraken.     LOL, i lost everything that i have farmed and built within months just in 45 minutes to your claim towers. Enjoy ATLAS with your beloved mega companies but without me in the future. I have no problems with PVP, but with patches in the middle of the night destroying everything for me.

    haha one week for PVE palyers to prepare the best pirate day of their life!!! Steal the hole Atlas without one cannon shot. GG. Hopefully my tiny base is still left over in 10 hours after work xD But my ships are not in a dock so i will have them(two sloops and a shooner).... but my tames are trapped behind an invulnerable gate. I shouldn't have closed it. Interessting who will be the new owner of my stuff.
