  1. Remove or limit fast travel, DON'T fix the claim system or avoid big companies to have more land. Fast travel it's the only way that small companies and lonely-wolf players have to travel, explore, gather resources and more from a huge distance. For example, it cost me a lot to sail across 6 or 7 servers with my sloop, to find ONE spot in a different lawless zones, to build a 4x4 base, and gather resources that i don't have in my other base. So, eventually, i'm gathering resources in one zone, and then, save all those resources, go to fast travel to the other base, gather different resources, and took my sloop and sail back to my other base. I save 1 journey, and like 2 hours of saling simulator. So, Next idea please.

  3. Bear: I agree that bears should be able to gather honey it's what bears do. HEY HEY BOO BOO and all that Chicken: Chickens could maybe help with garden with scratching being able to work as tilling and their poop as fertalizer while placed on a crop plot. Cow: ok but wish could put a saddle on it also. Bull: could gather thatch much better Crow: seems ok atm Razortooth : no comment atm Shieldhorn: no comment atm Elephant: The elephants tusks get hung up on EVERYTHING please find a way to fix that they can't move when they do this Giant Pig: Maybe make pigs dig up our treasure and give a buff or increase for using them?? Giraffe could gather thatch much better. Horse :Make Passive tame on the horses or make a carrot on a stick to lure them Lion : I like the idea of it being able to grab an animal and move it for u. Monkey : Give a climbing buff or food reduction buff. Ostrich: more hp is all i can think of atm Parrot: Maybe use as a way to find discoveries also allow it to be your eyes or something like that. Penguin: Fix penguins to help with babies I tamed 10 and they didn't help once with bears. Rabbit :Rabbits really should give some buff also, but glad they finally ride on shoulder. Maybe they could help find certain veggies in an area? Or as someone suggested a lucky buff when doing treasure. Rhino: Rhinos should get metal also from rocks like a pickaxe can and better metal from nodes i can mine more with hand than rhino can. Seagull: I loved VEG's idea that seagulls help with fog or someone else's idea of them warning of storm... ..Someone said seagulls to send msgs or bps in this case I love this idea. Can send maps also. Sheep: I loved the ideas others said about it being for fiber which is technically real world what it is. Tiger: not used enought to comment on. Vulture: Vultures could give a buff for killing animals or something. Wolf: Wolves need better stam period. Just some of others ideas and some of my own. make it so when you lvl certain aspects of shoulder pets they give a larger buff. Love the idea to make animals ignore gathering certain items like the ankys that got changed on ark. REALLY not animal change wise but you all had the fix for animals falling through the floors on ark please bring it over to here. I'm so tired of demolishing floors to get an animal unstuck. Some animal does need to be better with gathering thatch doesn't matter if giraffe or bull or something new. Breeding please please please infinity PLEASE fix it. Shouldn't have to babysit it past the baby stage a 30+ hour watch is horrible. Something not mentioned but maybe make more NPC's that could maybe help with raising baby's? Help with farming they can sweep decks maybe they can till gardens or milk the cows etc? Please make it where u can tame the animal you should be able to get it's food source within that region if not that island. I agree with those that have said crew should be seperate from tames. Also you have the means to have items go into a bank can we have the same happen when we buy from other players? I'd love to be able to sell from my own land I have a western town set up and would love to have visitors there because hey they might farm while visiting. I would also like to add i'd love to have more premade buildings we can use and be used like forge houses etc.
  4. Those left with nothing I find fine as is. Chicken Bear - Gather honey/saps. Cow - Let them be ride-able. Bull - More weight to make it the prime beast of burden for newer companies with the cargo saddle, as well as gathering thatch decently. Crow Razortooth - More damage, more hp, more weight. Shieldhorn - Better at gathering thatch, more weight. Elephant - Would be cool to get another saddle for the elephant. More armor (in design and actual value) that doubles as a platform saddle to build cannons/ballistas/cover on. They'd be the first line of defense when pushing into bases on land. Reminiscent of https://www.treefrogtreasures.com/images/Product/medium/AG066-FL.jpg Giant Pig Giraffe - Needs to be much better at gathering thatch. Horse - Change how they're tamed! I loved taming horses in Ark, it was unique and a lot of fun. Knocking out and bola'ing a horse makes no sense. Lion - More hp. Maybe slightly more damage? They should be the top tier carnivorous tame below razortooth, and do more up front damage vs DoT dmg versus the tiger. They're the king of the jungle after all. Monkey Ostrich - Wouldn't make much sense perhaps but a gliding mechanic like terror birds in ark would be fun and make them more unique. Could tame them in the same way as horses in Ark. Parrot Penguin Rabbit Rhino - REDUCE WEIGHT OF STONE (AND POSSIBLY METAL) and gather more of it. Seagull Sheep Tiger - Buff bleed, it does hardly anything PvE wise. Can't speak for pvp. Vulture Wolf - Give them a lockjaw type ability that slows your enemies. A pack bonus to damage with multiple wolves would be neat too. Would make them a great hunting partner to go ahead of you, track down an enemy and slow them so you can close in on them.
  5. @Temil2006 Thanks for that info. If it possible to do this without raising the wild dino spawn level? you used an example of a lvl 9000 bear. Id like the spawn levels to stay the same as official (under lvl 300) and have any level dino tameable (assuming that species was tameable to begin with). This way if I encounter a level 185 lion on a powerstone Island I can tame it, but I wont get attacked by a level 6000 wolf.
  6. Ok let´s Play. I am a Game Designer now.... Lets See what we have here 1. What Animals are in the Game/sould be in the Game? 2. 7. Elephant -No changes Notes: Elephants are quite possibly too effective at what they do, but I do not disagree with anything that reduces the monotony of farming materials. Bear - Health reduced by 25%. - Can only gather fiber. Notes: Bears are above and beyond all other tames in terms of combat abilities. They trivialize even the highest level treasure maps and can have such high damage reduction and health that you have to really mess up to risk killing one. They could probably use more overall nerfs, but I think it would be wise to go bit by bit until they are in a fair place. The fact that bears can forage food and gather fiber can be quite annoying at times, having to constantly empty put one's inventory of berries and plants. This also takes away from making a lesser used animal such as the Pig useful by being a dedicated foraging animal. Bull -Increase thatch gathering rate and increase the thatch to wood ratio. Notes: Bulls do not excel at anything except for the small niche of gathering bamboo/darkwood plants. Right now it is difficult to find a good thatch gathering tame, so it would be a good step on the way before obtaining a shieldhorn. Cobra -Remove from the game. Notes: Cobras are messed up. When you shoot them with arrows, they soak them up half of the time without taking damage. If you have a small amount of fortitude they can incapacitate you in 2-3 hits, leading to some horrible losses and bad situations where you are unable to defend a tame, etc. Crocodile -Can now be tamed. Will function similar to the bear, being a strong rideable tame with good speed in water and slower on land. Good for gathering fish, killing sharks, etc. Giraffe -Increase carrying capacity -Remove ability to gather anything other than plants/berries. Notes: Giraffes are huge and difficult to navigate with. Considering an elephant can get to the point of having around 4000 weight quite easily with post tame levels, the Giraffe should fulfill the role of being a dedicated cargo hauler. I suggest a max carry weight of around 5500~6000. Lion -Health and carrying capacity increased by 25%. -Tamed lions give their owners an aura that prevents monsters lower than the Lion's level from aggroing. Tiger -Health and carrying capacity increased by 25%. -Tamed tigers give their owners an aura that provides a speed bonus = (0.1 x tame level)%. If multiple tamed tigers are in range only the strongest aura is applied Wolf -Health and carrying capacity increased by 25%. -Tamed wolves give their owners an aura that provides a melee damage = (0.25 x tame level)%. If multiple tamed wolves are in range only the strongest aura is applied. Notes: Lions, tigers and wolves all suffer from being rideable tames with low weight capacity, and have also suffered collateral damage from being nerfed due to predator spawns being out of control early in the game. There is nothing they can do that bears dont do better, so I propose removing them as rideable animals entirely and turning them into follower tames that have relevant buffs. Ostrich -can now jump twice as high vertically. Notes: The ostrich is a cool fusion of the mobility of a horse while being slightly more combat ready and providing a temperature regulation buff. They could use a little extra push though to firmly establish a niche for their use, which I propose to be a rideable tame that can scale mountains better than any other tame. Pig -Change to be a pure foraging tame. Notes: Many other tames currently have the ability to forage plants and berries right now, so in my opinion either we remove the pig entirely as a tame or we make it so fewer tames can forage and that the pig forages the best out of all of them by a large margin. Rhino -Change the gathering rates so that Rhinos also get metal from rocks that yield metal in small amounts. -Increase base Stamina and Weight by 15%. Notes: Rhinos are not quite the elephants of rock gathering just yet, and considering the similar size and difficulty of obtaining them, should be more in line with Elephants. Rabbit -Provides a 10% chance of avoiding incoming melee damage while in shoulder. Notes: rabbits are quite useless right now, the good shoulder tames have set a precedent of decent passive bonuses, so the rabbit should be put in line with them as well.
  8. Besides rebalancing the gathering and carry abilities to make every tame viable like many suggested, i would also suggest to rearrange the creatures into a more exciting and challenging system. Normal Creatures - Reduced Size to real size - Normal wildlife, plentiful, less aggressive - normal behavior, wolves hunt at night rest during the day etc. - tameable, some smaller versions like wolves are not rideable, can be tamed faster than the current taming speed - levelrange, every creature can spawn at levels considering their strength and size: chicken lv 1-20 wolf lv 20-60 tiger lv 50-100 elephant lv 50-80 Alpha Creatures - using the current size(oversized) of creatures - tameable, but take more time to be tamed - rideable, for example alpha wolves are rideable unlike the normal sized ones - creatures picked to spawn as alpha will double their level and receive a health buff (health buff does not carry over to tamed ones) - alphas can be accompanied by a pack of normal creatures, for example a pack of wolves following an alpha wolf - only appropriate alphas, no alpha chickens and stuff Omega Creatures - rare and strong monsters of large size like dragons and other beasts. if you come across one while exploring the jungle you be running for your life - only hunt them in groups (introduce a tracking skill so they can remain rare sights) - if one is found trigger an local event everyone can join in to fight together (separate loot for all participants) Titan Creatures - like the kraken, only for massive groups - unlike the kraken they also appear randomly triggering world events for everyone to attend - can attack islands and all need to band together to fend them off, will disappear after a while if not defeated - is a natural replacement for decay, instead of buildings and ships getting deleted after a while they will get damaged or destroyed by titan attacks that only happen like once a month per island Behavior - attack delay, for example a shark will not attack as soon as you contact the water surface but start circling you for a bit bevor attacking, a wolf will tail you and team up with nearby wolves and is more likely to attack when turning your back on it, etc. General - need more creatures to liven up the world in the long term - tameable LotD with tarot skills, give us undead breeding, be the first ;) Taming New taming mechanic optional or replacement however you see fit.Activate taming skill and hold out the food. This will prevent creatures you look at from getting aggro on you or fleeing from you, does only work if they dont reacted to you already so you have to start from far away with aggressive creatures and always look at them to keep them from reacting in the normal way(aggro/flee).Creatures will also flee or attack with a certain chance that depends on your sneaking skill and how fast you move towards them. Once you reach them there is a chance they will eat the food depending on its quality and what kind of food you are offering. Agressive creatures will attack when rejecting the food. You have to repeat until the taming bar is full, if attacked you have to flee and loose aggro to continue taming or if it stays in the game you continue with the bola method.
  9. Bear is a boring mode, surely our company will stand against our statment here, but hate bears and wish they were gone, they are easy mode yetis, easy mode any animal, easy mode any quality treasure map, gather berries better than a horse, gather fiber like a champ, gather thatch like a champ (in case of having access to thatch bushes), they got gigantic aoe, there's no point in using tools or weapons when having a bear that can keep knocking enemies back with sustained dps. Those pricks also have tons of health and in wild they are pack animals and despite having so much health and speed and damage... they have no head hitbox! Chicken gives eggs, is fine as is. Cow gives milk, is fine as is. Bull is supposed to be a thatch animal, but is useless, also bleeding attacks are useless. Crow is cool, however inteligence sucks, the initial crafting bonus is a dice roll no matter how high inteligence is and it only slightly matters in upgrading, no point gimping self with inteligence and crow doesn't give enough to matter. Elephant is a easy wood mode, tbh that's fine, even tho hate tames, choping is boring and there's no hatchet bps. Pig is almost useless, however is an easy home defense when amassed except against alphas or radiculous bear aoes. Giraffe is a worse horse. Horse is fine as is, sturdy, loyal companion, one of fastest animals, flexible, not a damage dealing animal so no bullshit alpha yeti killing capabilities like a bear. Just remove the fear when standing near the wild ones, infuirating, especialy when there's a whiny alpha horse, they are also almost impossible to tame without them jumping into a trap. Lion is a douche, alpha lions should not exist as if it grabs us, there's no way to escape or corpse run for items, thankfuly never got into such situation but just wait for it, male lion have screwed head hitbox, they also fly further than frickin horses. Monkey is a poop turret, never used tho. Ostrich is like a horse but squishier and with more dmg (for whatever reason) Parrot... is like crow except with fortitude, however not going to keep parrot 24/7 to keep self warm so just gonna put few own points into it and screw parrots, useless. Penguin is cute for some, good selling product, nothing else, they are a walking campfire without cooking ability and need fish to eat not berries, definitely useless other than blubber farming or selling for cute factor. Rabbit is useless. Rhino is a walking pickaxe, however they are not that usefull as they do nothing to boulders, they only get bonus to pure metal nodes so might aswell just mine those with a pick insteed of hauling heavy and buggy animals arround the world. Seagull is useless, if will want to go diving, gonna grab a diving suit. Sheep is useless, just kill some sheep or find an alpha sheep for fleece. Tiger is a lion on steroids. Vulture and his six million vulture buddies wanna say hi before nerfs, but in all seriousness, they are useless, just gather than corpse with tools. Wolf was a cancer, then the guns were nerfed and made them extreme cancer bcs they could take 2-3 bullets in the face while charging at us in numbers of 5 in pack, and then they were nerfed very hard, however, since we hold so much hate and frustration and unfun from pre-nerf times that they may stay like this forever. As a predator we prefer lions bcs they atleast don't knock us arround like a beachball and don't have machine gun attack speed, now atleast they have so weak dmg that those things doesn't matter, just flying arround after being bit is still annoying as hell, they can now be destroyed with any weapon with a headshot. We thought that they would be a good fighting tame, but they have no aoe like bear and have pathetic damage compared to a bear and they have no weight capacity so wearing armor already consumes half of their wegiht capacity lol. Head hitboxes, yes, know this is about just taming, but those animals have no hitbox: bears, chickens, cows, bulls, crows, elephants, pig (they have but like, inside their throat or something when they bite, almost impossible to hit), giraffe, horse, lion (only male and only slightly, their head hitbox is screwy and sometimes counts as body shot, maybe that's bcs their texture is bigger but their hitboxes were not adjusted to the size from female model), monkey, ostrich, parrot, penguin, rabbit, rhino, seagull, sheep, vulture, (and now non-tamable creatures), bass, tuna, shark, manta ray, turtle, propably also angler fish and jelly fish, propably all those stupid dinos, and other animals that forgot about, why almost all animals have no head, wtf grapeshot?
  10. Bear - I think this tame is in a good place I never leave my port without a bear on the boat. It is the workhouse tame and best all around. Fiber, Berries, Sugar, Meat, Fur, Mapping, hauling. If there was a tame worth getting the bear is the first on my list. Chicken - Seems to be doing it's job just fine. Would love to see a way to build bird boxes or a chicken roost to stick them in and have the eggs gather in an inventory. Cow - Milk is nice give a fairly big bump to vitamin D without bumping up food but instead pushing up water. Bull - I haven't really used this tame much, I hear it gathers thatch from small trees but so do bears. Could make this the thatch gather animal as that one is missing. Crow - I haven't tamed one yet, I have been meaning to test out how huge of a bump Intelligence gives on doing blueprints. Not sure if its just a few % on top or a huge chunk more. Something I need to figure out. Not sure what other uses these guys have beyond that so can't speak to it. Razortooth - Have not tamed in here so no idea what it does. Shieldhorn - I hear this is a tanking beast that reflects damage like in ARK. Have yet to tame one and see how effective/useful it is. Elephant - Probably my number 2 favorite tame between split between a rhino and Elephant. Gathers TONS of wood so quickly and a little thatch. Can haul a bit more weight than a bear if it's base stat roll is good. I use these in a conga line for hauling weight back from metal nodes or as I am running around manually gathering thatch. Also good at getting berries although I usually use a bear for filling larders/troughs. Giant Pig (Boar?) Kind of a meh tame. I have a few since they poop a lot and you can have them poop on command to get fertilizer. Don't gather much of anything well. If you don't have any other ride able tames on the island they are ok for getting around if you need to scout and don't require a saddle. Giraffe - Elephant is better although these guys move much faster but I still prefer the elephant. Not sure what I would change about them, could make these better at thatch gathering instead of the Bull and drop their wood gathering rate. Horse - A great scouter, decent weight. Confused as to how these don't also include the cart as an option. Also why does the cart not have an inventory. In my mind the cart should offload some of the "carry weight" off the tame it's attached to. Say the cart is behind and has 5K weight the animal will be burdened by 50% of it since the cart is offloading the weight to the ground. Also would like to see the cannon carts adjusted somehow or make a new saddle called combat saddle that serves that and a work saddle which work's as a hauling cart for the horse, bear, possibly a tier for the elephant. Lion - Bit weak on stats tamed for health and can die fairly easy. But they have the bleed ability that causes some massive damage. Biggest issue is they also have terrible base weight and it takes a decent tame, lucky rolls and lots of levels to make them worth using if you are fully geared up for exploring/combat. Sometimes bring these to map and bear to carry the gold. Removing from mount ability is a bit op. Monkey - Love this guy I carry one when I am taming stuff. They have saved me quite a few times from dying healing me up between feedings after being knocked back.I hear they can unlock doors of houses supposedly if there is a window but I have never actually tried this no one ever has windows and using a cannon is a much faster way to knock on the door. Poo flinging is funny but not sure how useful. Ostrich - Another great scout. Decent weight, SUPER FAST. Bit weak but it can pretty much avoid all danger if you don't d/c or something. Use this to bring predator tames into the taming pen since it can jump a wall with no problem. Not sure what I would change on them we use these a lot around the base and when exploring. Parrot - Another tame I use a lot if not having the monkey. the foritude bonus is nice if you get a good high level base and get it leveled up a bunch you can easily get the fortitude bonus to survive some of the heat waves /deep freezes without needing to crank a ton of points into fortitude. Penguin - Have yet to tame one. I have mostly killed them for blubber, it feels wrong but I need the oil... poor guys. I know they are supposed to provide a slight heat bonus when close but haven't had issues with the cold areas once I got my fortitude up a bit and a decent parrot and fur armor on it's no problem. Rabbit - Not sure what these are useful for, assuming nothing. I haven't taken the time to tame them. Rhino - Love this tame about the same as the elephant. Carry weight could use a bit of love but use for gathering stone and flint. Would use on metal nodes but gathering with pick is usually better especially on bonus weekends. I know some people wish it would gather metal off rocks as well. I wouldn't mind it but don't think its necessary. Also great for charging and pretty much 1 hit killing most non alpha creatures. Seagull - Most annoying creature to accidently hit in game at the start. Probably could use some love as I haven't found a reason to tame any. Sheep - Wool... yep does it's job. Tiger - Same as lion. The removing off mounted tames is really annoying... especially since once you get free they bleed you, break your bone and you are pretty well doomed if your tames don't save you or you fail to get a good headshot. Vulture - A funny tame to sick on people. Wolf - Overly weak since the nerfs. We have some and have tamed some... and have accidently killed so many while taming. They are useful ish but could honestly be brought back up in their glory. People who found these hard to deal with were doing it wrong. All of these tames could be given a unique type of meat. Mutton, Bacon, Ham, Chicken, Horse, rabbit, beef etc etc. Ostrich could also lay really big eggs periodically. You could REALLY expand the cooking tree and recipes by having different types of meats and incorporating them into the menus. If .. No when you fix breeding and it doesn't take 2 days and the heat/cold is fixed people could setup farms raising some of these for the purpose of slaughtering for meat. Probably would be controversial to some people but could get some other resources off some of these like Ivory off elephants to make things like pipes, chess pieces, other things down the road. Feathers off some of the foul types to be used in making arrows and flashy clothing down the road.
  11. Long disclaimer: I play solo pve on a high rate unofficial and my views are skewed towards that. Ideally I would love to have the variety and functionality of tames from Ark combined with the new foliage and building from Atlas. Bear: Is in a good place. Chicken, Cow, Pig: Would automatically become more useful with a rework of cooking/farming, which we all know it needs. Would love to see (limited) riding added to cow just for parking purposes. Bull: Could become a plow, replacing the shovel mini-game. Crow: Collecting flotsam and maybe lock picking, although the latter might be a problem. Shieldhorn and Razortooth: I'm too much of a wimpy carebear to venture into our pvp zone but maybe the shieldhorn could protect against fire elementals or fire in general. Pvp players probably have better suggestions here. Elephant: Is in a good place. Like mentioned above, it could use better stam regen. There's also something about the hitbox around their tusks that gets me stuck on them a bit much. Horse: Mostly in a good place. Would prefer passive tame. A real cart, with an inventory and two horses pulling, would also look nice. I remember Wurm had these adorable gypsy wagons. Giraffe: I'll join the chorus and ask for thatch. Lion: Grab and carry should work in pve also but only on wild animals or your own tames. Tigers: Love my tigers. Ostrich: Saps harvesting and weight reduction for it. Rhino: I still get more metal with higher hand harvesting (might be the server settings) and they tend to get stuck on everything. One rock strewn desert island made me pull my hair out just trying to move. Monkey: Many will hate this but I could see them as a kind of ersatz-npc in some very reduced capacity. Maybe they could operate mortar & pestle or forges. Parrot: It would be so funny to be able to teach them words or even phrases. They could even act as a kind of mailbox. But yeah, I understand that it may be too difficult to implement. Penguin: Some greatly enhanced functionality as a breeding aid. I would go as far as allowing them to remove biome restrictions for breeding. Seagull: It's a natural born thief. Maybe the turtle or croc could become tameable and take over the oxygen supply. Sheep: Could give wool which adds hypothermic buff to any armor and can be added optionally when making any armor or maybe a new armor. Vulture: They can digest the nastiest disease away so maybe they could alleviate symptoms from vitamin deficiency. Wolf: Can be domesticated into a guard dog. Maybe howls (loudly) when enemies approach. Rabbit: With their big ears they could be the warning call while travelling. P.S.: Would love to see Fennec Foxes, which could be the weather warning system.
  12. Having multiple wolf tames can give you a running as a pack or riding a male lion with a bunch of lionesses gives you a pride. Killing sheep in wild gives the same hide we get now but once domesticated they can give fibre? Seagulls like in my previous post storm warning and SotD highlight on Sextant Map (Perhaps having them perched in your crow's nest on your ship?) Rabbits could increase crop yields if left roaming in a farm area (Although IRL the opposite is more of the case) Shoulder tames must NOT count towards crew... People choose a cannoneer before they choose a shoulder tame. An auto flee for shoulder tames that uses there stamina - hide in a tree near your body if you get killed (If I'm getting attached to my shoulder tame I really don't want to lose it as easily as I have several previous ones) Crew (As they are technically a tame) - better stat increase on leveling... Not at player level but close. Perhaps giving them job to do when stationed at a base. Perhaps placing them in a tax bank you can have them passively gather the resources you have in the area at a slow but steady rate. if you have farms in the area they could gather a slightly lower yield but again slow and steady. Could increase there value to gold ratio A patrol mechanic would be cool although not sure what kind of performance hit that would deliver to the servers Teleporting a tame to you is super OP especially in PvP (A whole company spawning in lions on aggressive in an enemy base) but if it was a feat that could be used once every in-game day (On one of my claims/ships or building I built) it could help with those glitched/bugged tames - (I would seriously spend points on this) Passive tames should be increased as almost killing a generally passive creature to make it love you is weird... Tames should also not be what the game is about... Shoulder tames sure. I get this is a fantasy pirate game but I'd much rather have a steampunk like machine than an animal to harvest things. In the same vein as the sub basically, I love the look of the concept art and think it will help in getting people over this "reskin of Ark" mentality if it is used to enrich the lore of the game... If this was a thing you focus on then I'd make cows, bulls, sheep etc. purely farm animals there to supply the pathfinder with certain resources. Large creatures: Elephants, Giraffe, Rhino etc. would be siege creatures only and other predators attack/defensive only. I'd also make the ostrich the fastest mount to purely get from point to point and then have the horse or multiple horses to haul large weights. As cool as it is at the moment having "multipurpose mounts" they dominate the game. Having the steampunk machines be mountable by crew could also be really cool to setup port towns that are self sustaining and interesting to visit. Kinda off topic but I'd also like to see a Captain's Skill Tree feat for quick dock when close to port (with the smaller ships) would help getting tames on the ship in a less "clunky" manner
  13. This is just one example , a whole coast walled up just to protect a tiny house and still , there is wolf spawned inside , and this is not lawless area . During my journey there are many like this , walled up the coast , animal still spawn in and outside the gate wall and people can't bring mule to carry resources .
  14. So far I am enjoying the tames. Here is how I would make it better. First I would love an ability to select what my tame should harvest and ignore the rest. Second pls let us select tame ans NPCs to only attack players and tames like they already do on guns, it will make them viable first responders and make ninja raids much harder. Bear - take away the ability to attach carts, the tame is either battle or utility. Once you have it both it becomes OP. The rest of it seems fine. Chicken - leave as is Cow - leave as is Bull - make it a hauler, give it good weight (say 2K), let cargo carts have an ability to snap a small box on top instead of a cannon. And let the animal haul say 2-3 times their weight limit if placed in the box on the cart Razorthooth - did not have enough experience to suggest anything Shieldhorn - did not have enough experience to suggest anything Elephant - leave as is Giant Pig - no idea. Giraffe - Make it 50/50 wood thatch gathering animal, so you get less wood than an elephant but more thatch Horse - make it a hauler, let cargo carts have an ability to snap a small box on top instead of a cannon. And let the animal haul say 2-3 times their weight limit if placed in the box on the cart. Unlike the bull it should have less weight capacity but higher speed. Lion - leave as is Monkey - leave as is Ostrich - Make it a primarily thatch animal, the reverse of the elephant (the light weight of the thatch should compliment it) Parrot - leave as is Penguin - leave as is Rabbit - leave as is Rhino - Leave as is Seagull - sentry, early warning system. Has a large aggro range about the size of a claim flag. Will respond to any non-friendly entering the range. Will seek out non friendly player, upon proximity contact will send a similar message as someone is stealing your territory, and will keep circling around the area for some time before acquiring another target and doing the same. Will return to original spot if unable to find non-friendlies in the area. Sheep - leave as is Tiger - leave as is Vulture - sentry, early warning system. Wolf - does a tiger type attack to cripple and bleed the enemies. Gets wolf pack bonus for every friendly wolf in proximity up to say 5 (stat buff so HP and DMG)
  15. #1 I'd change the way we tame. I don't know about you crazy devs but when I get a new pet I don't kick the living shit out of it and then feed it over and over and over again. It doesn't make sense. #2 Give us an animal that's good at farming thatch, like it's that animal's #1 priority. Maybe the wiki is lying but it seems to me there's no animal that primarys thatch, which is odd since it's one of the 3 most basic resources. Each resource in the world should have a tame that specializes in harvesting it. #3 Make the Rhino get metal when it mines rocks that you get stone/flint/metal from when using a pick. #4 Give us a command that allows the elephant to move to a location we point out, drop all of its inventory into a container and then return to where it was. So we can farm stuff, send the elephant back to base to drop off our load while we continue to farm. (Also, give us something like the hopper from Minecraft and allow us to craft while pulling from containers we're standing next to, so if i'm standing next to a box with wood, thatch and fiber in it I should be able to craft building components without having to move them to my inventory first.) #5 According to the wiki the rabbit is supposed to warn you about dangerous creatures, but it either doesn't work or the creatures are like monster level ones. It should warn you about any nearby predator. #6 The cargo saddle should actually allow us to put cargo in it, with a much higher weight limit. That's the whole point of the invention of the wheel, to move things that are much heavier than we ordinarily would be able to. #7 Wolves are underpowered compared to bears. The only reason I'd ever use a wolf right now is for the warming buff, also they need more base stamina. #8 Make one of the birds able to deliver message notes to allies, sort of like carrier pigeons or the ravens in Game of Thrones. (for that matter, add a note item and a mailbox item so we can leave messages in the actual game for people) #9 FIX. BREEDING. Breeding right now takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. I have no problem with it being challenging, I do have a problem with breeding taking as long as a full time shift at a job. #10 Allow us to craft a higher tier feeding trough that allows preserving salt to be put into it to increase the shelf life of the food. #11 Make chicken eggs give you meat vitamins instead of veggie. #12 Parrots can talk, right? So allow us to "teach" it a saying to say randomly using text to speech. This is a pretty low priority idea but it'd be funny. That's all I got off the top of my head.
  16. Move ostriches to tier 1, they are good for speed but not really for carrying anything. Wolf should be made a companion pet, not a mount. Needs a buff to damage, probably tier 1 since I would think of having them as hunting dogs. Probably rework taming methods. It just doesn't seem right to beat a dog, tie them up, and force feed them bones and meat. Ditch pigs, totally useless. Bears need a nerf to their gathering abilities and weight, otherwise they are pretty good for a tier 2 tank. Remove their cargo saddle. Their charge should be very stamina draining and not part of their sprint. Ditch the lion or the tiger, we don't need both. They can both fill the same role of providing a bleed. Elephants need more hp to be a tier 3 tank. Razortooth and Shieldhorn need to be buffed to make them better for endgame, possibly be their own exotic tier with it's own taming skill and saddle skill. If you're going to go taming then you really should have to invest more heavily into it for these special creatures. Bulls need to gather thatch better and have a better weight which can be enhanced with a cargo saddle similar to weight sails. Horses need a nerf to their speed, probably tied to its weight, possibly look at creating 2 kind of horses, one for weight and one for combat. That was a thing with knights and would probably still be around in the pirate period. As others said, you need to work on melee and hand to hand. Neither of these skills are particularly good and useful. Shields also need some work, not worth using. I think we could use some diversity in melee weapons as well. Axes were still popular weapons for boats. I'd like to see a 2 handed sword option in the same tier as the pike.
  17. @Jatheish Two primary issues that need resolutions asap, basic QoL changes that would make a huge impact, and some suggestions for tames: 1) Animals falling through the mesh of boats or structures absolutely needs to be fixed ASAP. I recognize you saying above that you are making this a priority, so I'll just reaffirm how crucial this is to the player base. This has to be the #1 priority for animals; we've stopped sending bug reports about this, because it happens so much. Daily. And it was never fixed in Ark. Don't let this one slip. 2) The main thing wrong with the breeding system is how fast the temperature spikes can kill an animal. In Ark, you generally get to a point where you can leave the darn thing alone entirely for large chunks of time, as long as you're careful and watch your timers. In Atlas, even if you've got all the temperature ranges for your biome/grid known, you still have a maximum of maybe a 10 minute window where, if unobserved, the baby can die, because it can transition from a heat wave to a cold front, and no amount of insulation we've found can prevent a swing like that from killing a baby without manual adjustment. This window should be significantly longer, especially further on into maturation. You can still keep the temperature requirements, but the window for failure needs to be much larger, given the extremely long maturation time. Boosting someone else's idea: Give babies a scaling insulation buff when close to their mother. This will benefit smaller tribes who don't have as many people to do babysitting, and still make it more complex for larger tribes to manage that proximity if doing mass breeding. We also need some way to cool down a baby. It doesn't have to be huge (but more than being submerged in water). Necessary QoL changes Add armored saddle blueprints to the game (even just a bit, doesn't have to be the full 25 armor of a bear) Add Medium sized gates, for Tier 2 animals (and smaller tier 3s) Make medium and large sizes cages (like those in the Piracy tree) to hold animals on board ships for better transport. Make the "Transfer <animal> to <x>" option move them into specific, named cages, instead of to ships. Filter gathering would be amazing Add the "Dino Leash" item from ark Animal Specific Seagull - allow for a 'homing pigeon' ability where it can send weightless items like blueprints or treasure maps back to a specified location at your home base (like a special bird cage you craft) Crow - Help you spot nearby undiscovered Discovery Points with a UI element, like the Bulbdog alerting you to high level predators Sheep - Convert the hide-like resource your shear off them to a Fiber. This would help alleviate the lack of fiber in certain areas, since you could just bring along a couple sheep. Also fur just seems more like fiber then hide. Pig - Allow it to act like a super-shovel. Bonus chance to harvest worms, gold, etc from the ground Wolf - Revisit the idea of a "Pack Buff" like in Ark, as a means of boosting the wolves' currently underwhelming power level, without drastically changing the creature itself. Elephant Giraffe - should be able to gather additional thatch from trees (higher up) Bulls should get a buff to farming thatch from plants on the ground (all plants, not like how with Bears it needs to be a special plant) Shieldhorn - Its special passive ability is fantastic, but it needs a base HP boost or armor to really be a viable tank. Razortooh - Needs a stamina buff, and probably HP or armor. Seagull - Gather fish, increase Fog of War reveal distance Rabbits - on the shoulder gives a "Lucky" gold boost buff PS: While the new taming system of getting hit by the animal is somewhat annoying, I really like that it pushes taming into more of a group activity, often needing people to do the primary tame, scout/kill predators, and have someone on backup to take over if you miss the sweet spot a few times and get hurt. I like this design direction; even though I end up doing less solo taming, I have a LOT of fun on our group taming excursions into dangerous areas! Edit: PS, clarity, typo
  18. Bear I feel this is in a good place. Probably too good? I feel they are way too tanky for how easy they are to tame. Chicken Again good place, supplies food doesn't really need to do much more. Cow Again good place, supplies food doesn't really need to do much more. Bull Increase thatch gathered or allow it to pull a cargo wagon. Crow Good place, doesn't need much more. Could you maybe make farming worms less cancer? Razortooth Good place, please DO NOT BUFF HP. They need to be squishy because you currently use the same fear table as ark I guess which means they fear EVERYTHING. Shieldhorn Maybe make this the goto thatch/sap farmer. But please for the love of all things good please up their stam, trikes always had horrible stam. Elephant Good place but please up their stam REGEN they are rediclously slow in regening stam. Also please allow elephants to hit multiple trees if in range, 1 at a time is a bit harsh, especially when you can harvest all bushes in range with a swing. Giant Pig Good place doesn't really need anything extra, I wouldn't mind them being able to heal like daedons? But you need to be careful with this or they will make tames next to impossible to kill. Another idea would be if a beast master skill is used on a pig it will pass that affect to all unmounted creatures around it? So if we have like 10 bears on follow killing stuff for us and they all need nature's cry, pig rider uses it and passes the buff on to all the bears within an AOE Giraffe They feel pointless and I can't see anything you could do to improve their use. Maybe give them ridiculously high weight so they can be used to haul stuff? Horse remove their ability to use cargo wagons, these with swivels/cannons is honestly stupid, they can jump around and run so fast it can be hard for the bobs to counter. Lion In a good spot honestly Monkey In a good spot Ostrich Add ability to give hyperthermal protection, but please make this pass over to babies too!! Parrot good spot Penguin Good spot, but need to make them pass their Hypothermal protection to babies/tames too! Rabbit Add a movement speed buff when carrying ? (please not too much or it will become ark movement speed meta again) Rhino Good spot, but you may need to reduce their damage multiplier on charge attacks as once people start using them for pvp everything else will be irrelevant. Also please enable the ability to harvest more than one rock at a time, and let them gather metal from stone/flint/metal variations of rocks please. Seagull The oxygen buff is all well good but the fact your bird drowns before you is a bit silly xD Sheep Good spot Tiger Make them slightly tankier and have more weight, they are basically a lion without the ability to smash ground pvps Vulture Health bar view radius increase, so let us see enemy health bars from further away, or copy dire wolf ability from ark that they reveal anything below half health? Wolf Good spot mostly, could do with more weight to allow them to carry the hide they harvest. I'd also like to add the following in relation to tames: Cargo wagons need swivels and balistas removed, they make ground pvp a single meta at this point Cargo wagons should also have their own weight limit (maybe you can have BP based wagons that have increased weight) and don't increase the tame's weight at all (except the weight of the saddle). This means they can be used for the purpose of a cargo wagon. Say one has a weight limit of 5,000 you can put up to 5,000 weight in the wagon and maybe another 2,000 weight in your bear and drag it around. But it would avoid any exploiting of weights on a boat both the cargo wagon and bear together will still weigh 7,000. Creature stasis. It seems that stasis food calculations aren't taking into account the new types of food in ATLAS or the Troughs use a different ID compared to ARK, but basically if you leave a creature long enough that it's food stat would deplete it won't matter that there is food in its inventory or in a trough in range it will starve to death. Baby raising. Health loss from temperatures is some what manageable even if we can't use penguins to help aid it. However there is currently a math problem with how you calculate this. It seems that the creatures X% of current max health per tick which is fine it means it will always take the same amount of time to die, however you didn't account for the steady health regen that creatures have. So I guess someone tested this on a baby where it would take about 1-2hours for a baby to die. However if you have a 90% raised creature it becomes a lot worse. Because the health regen does not scale like the loss of health per tick does. Example of this is a baby bear with max current health of like 60 visually ticks down about 0.1hp per tick. A bear though that then goes up to max current health of 1200 now ticks down like 20 health a tick. So the regen of babies needs to be adjusted to be % based like the health loss is or the % health loss needs to scale down based on how far raised they are. Experience limit, currently all creatures are limited to about lvl120 wild level, anything over this the creatures will not gain experience.
  19. General: Alot of them need improvements to their Hit boxes so you dont get stuck/teleported back in invisible walls when trying to pass them.Allow the building of cargo elevators on large ships so you can store animals inside like in an arc, improve the way they get abord ships so they dont get stuck in dinghy attachments as often. Add a way to reset the position of animals on a ship to be able to free them from such stuck positions. Give Male versions of animals that have females that produce something like Milk or Eggs something as a bonus to balance them out. For example there is hardly any reason to bother taming a rooster compared to chickens. Maybe have them providing an aoe buff to production or something like that. I would also suggest to remove all knockback effects from wild animals unless their attack would suggest it would happen naturally like when a rhino hits you with a charge attack. Also consider having lions/tigers attack the tamed animal like all others rather then dismounting/focusing the rider, or at the very least decrease the numbers of them on an island. Ostrich: Make Female Ostriches lay large eggs. Increase the amount of wood and tatch gained to metal tool levels to make picking at a tree not totally useless. Improve hitting area upon attack, it has trouble hitting cobras because they crawl under it for example. Sheep: Make Hair/Wool to Fiber on both sheep and Human hair. Make Female Sheeps milkable but give less Milk then cows. Horse: Increase base carry weight and speed a little, improve the animations so it looks less stiff , make the cargo sattle actually carry cargo. Elephant: The Stamina bar seems to deplete too fast when collecting wood, even when you put skill points in it while the Food bar never seems to deplete. Either make the stamina reserves huge so an elephant can fill up its entire inventory with one stamina bar but needs a long time to refill/rest before he can go out for another farm run, or increase the stamina recovery speed at the cost of more food consumption. But the ladder variant fits more for small agile animals in my opinion. Rhino: Needs serious improvements to its attack area, it seems to be unable to hit Vultures or Bees attacking if from above. Needs large increases to its carry weight of metal to be more competitive against the elephants carrying potential. Birds: Are very hard/annoying to catch with bolas when they are not trapped in your ship or something compared to the rather small buffs they offer, specially considering that they take up a crew slot on ships. I would suggest to make those small animals not count as crew anymore so ppl dont feel bad having a parrot on their shoulder when they are on a ship. They could provide a +1 crew buff to the ship that doesnt stack so you cant put 500 parrots on ships. Wolf: Seems to be underpowered as a tame since the wild wolf nerfs compared to others like a bear. I would suggest increasing their hp and carry weight a bit while leaving the damage as it is to make them more competitive with the mobility of lions. Maybe give them get an aoe buff thats boosts their dmg and defense when they act together with other wolfes. That way you could have them roaming around on aggressive defending your sheeps and cows for example, specially if you paint them to look like german shepherds. Seems to have trouble hitting crocodiles because of hitbox issues. I think i had some more but i cant remember it at the moment, hope you like the ideas.
  20. Bear - increase them to Tame/ride level 3 due to their large utility, overall stat distributions and cargo saddle use. Perhaps revisit cargo saddle in general, add flat movespeed debuff. Perhaps two tiers of cargo saddles. Chicken - Strong unique utility Cow - Strong unique utility Bull - good utility mid tier tame, unique attack Crow - Good spot. visit respec'ing in general with recipes such as the route ark took, or some other method like FOY/quest based. Elephant - Strong unique utility Giant Pig - Add seed creation as a feature. Feed it your crops and get seeds. Ties in with current use. Giraffe - Add thatch gathering on par with bear/elephant utility Horse - Good Spot Lion - increase damage by minimum 10% along with similar per level damage scaling. Currently lions are on par with bears in damage but have the grab utility. Bears have the hp/weight/stam/charge/cargo saddle over lions. Monkey - Good spot, unique attack and passive Ostrich - Good Spot. unique mobile mount. Parrot - afaik only grants level based insulation. Changing this to fortitude or adding an additional passive to make them more useful such as +5% gold from maps or a music buff duration/strength increase. Penguin - increased radius of buff, change to buff so it is directly based on the level of the penguin, increase to per level hypo buff Rabbit - good spot, perhaps additional noises/stances/ear gestures for storms. Noises could be kept predators, gestures could be storms/weather. or keep same noises which change purpose to weather when on a boat. Perhaps ears up, noises are for creature warning, ears down noises are for weather to limit need for more sound production. Rhino - Great spot, unique utility and unique strong attack style Seagull - Good Spot, unique buffs. Consider small fish retrieval or a passive buff to fishing. Sheep - Good unique utility, adjust domesticated wool cap to increase based on domestic level or tamed level. Vulture - add small animal hunting/retrieving with increase to spoilage durability in inventory Wolf - fine for mid tier tame. Utility as all around mediocre beginner carnivore. Nothing unique aside from they drop what is needed to tame them. Perhaps a pack buff (3+ members) +10% damage or +10% damage resistance is needed and a minor flat hypo buff for rider.
  21. @Jatheish As a designer I would scrap how animals are at this point. Currently this game is turning into an Ark expansion. I would decide to stop living in Ark's shadow. Currently I've done all PvE material so my day consists of riding around on a level 70 bear with elephants behind me harvesting X resource with hopes of actually needing blue print weapons to complete the next PvE tier. Currently riding is basically a requirement for things to do effectively either everything else needs to be brought up or beastmastery needs to be brought down. I would change the tree to crew. It would allow you to get animals but the animals would have something they bring to the table and not be rideable. The shoulder mount thing would be fine but cruising around on (current meta tame) is basically Ark. So I now have a blank slate and need to make it so I can get tames. I would want it to be a low chance from mate boosted animals when you harvest their bodies or a high chance from an alpha. Could also put a vendor in the game that sells the babies. So now my players have a baby X. This whole temperature thing currently is silly and the way to fix it going to require a lot of resources from my company (grapeshot) so the cost would be too great to keep this. The concept is cool but the creation and implementation creates a poor user interaction with it so I would scrap it. The concept of feeding animals something special is a good one so I could fill up a bear with honey and it would mature faster or just use berries cause they are easy but longer time until they are grown. So now I have a way for players to get tames so I now need to make them useful. This would be the bottom tiers of the crew tree. Different animals would have a function that fall into combat or utility. For this I would think of how I envision an amazing creature of the type. Bear- Combat- Taunt enemies around the player acting as a tank. Chicken- Utility- When on wander produces eggs Cow- Utility- Produces milk (more on wander) Bull- Utility- when on wander fertilizes nearby crops Crow- Shoulder- When you die acts as a bed. Razortooth- Combat- nerfs alphas. Shieldhorn- Combat- Produces a shield that deflects projectiles. (Currently elementals have little counter play) Elephant- Utility- When on wander collects wood. Giant Pig- Utility- When on wander finds buried items. Giraffe- Utility- When on wander gathers thatch. Horse- Utility- Rideable, pulls carriage and cargo which helps tranports large amounts of people or heavy amounts of resources great distances (we need something that makes unloading a galley not horrible) Lion- Combat- grabs smaller creatures. Monkey- Shoulder- barehanded becomes climbing picks at a much higher stam use rate. Ostrich- Utility- Harvests seeds when on wander. Parrot- Shoulder- Makes musical instruments easier to play and buffs the buff radius. Penguin- shoulder- fortitude buff. Rabbit- Shoulder- When on shoulder provides a movement speed. Rhino- Utility- When on wander gathers stone. Seagull- Shoulder- When on shoulder reduces/removes fog debuff Sheep- Utility- When on wander gathers fiber Tiger- Combat- reduces movement speed of enemies. Vulture- Utility- When on shoulder decreases vitamin depletion. Wolf- Combat- has a howl that increases damage. Turtle- Make tameable- Shoulder- Increase swimspeed, decreases oxygen use, and reduces deep diving debuff. Rattlesnake- Utility- When on wander produces venom, venom is used for anti-venom which reduces torpidity. So now that I have all these super cool animals I need to transport them and the current bug is they fall off (scavenging tames in the ocean is super lucrative I know a guy that got a Razortooth) I would make it so boats have a animal attachment that is basically a cage and when you send the animal to it the animal gets turned into more of an item that is placed inside the cage instead of being on the boat (no more lost at sea tames yay). We now need somewhere to put all these wandering tames. I would make it so tames on wander don't leave your territory. I would also make it so you can apply a filter on the map to see where certain tames are. Now for the meaty part of the new tree. I would make it so NPC's you get from SotD have a type of suffix like Bob. Bob would be a builder. You would need points in crew to hire Bob and then you can put him on a smithy. If you have skills in construction you would be able to make things like stone at a reduced cost. The points in crew would only be to get Bob, the points in construction would make it so you can get the discounted building from Bob. This would make Bob your righthand man when it comes to construction of things. You would still need the recipe to make it though. So getting NPC's and keeping them alive would have benefits beyond "I need guys on my sails" which you would want to keep around because sailor NPC's would make your sails better. This would lead into reworks of the other skill trees, I would make farming capable of making the large crop plots grow fiber, thatch, and wood that the NPC's can harvest at a drastically reduced rate. The rate they harvest can be modified by giving them higher end tools. Artillery tree would also get access to alchemists that can be put on a mortar and pestle that will make it so you can stack unlimited resources inside it and queue up organic paste for more than 220 at a time... it would also make it faster to give the QoL that is missing from the chemistry station. I could keep talking about how I would change it but the TL:DR is make animals more companion rather than a requirement but still have meaning. Make NPC's more than a parasite when you arn't sailing. As a designer I would change a lot of things but for creatures this is what I would do. ~Lotus
  22. Make all gatherers passive tames but add gathering levels like the Therizinosaurus from Ark. This way they are easy to tame initially but you have to work with them to make them more effective at gathering. Add the option to turn off berry collection. Add combat levels to predator tames that make them more effective eventually the more you work with them (stay as bolo tames) Bears, Elephants etc. would still have their base damage but would not have option for combat levels so they would not be the perfect choice for a combat mount. So, for example, a fully combat leveled wolf of a similar level would be more powerful than a bear as the bear does not have the option to increase combat levels
  23. First off, all animals hit boxes need to be revamped because elephant tusks in particular are a HUGE pain. I actively kill wild elephants who get me stuck on their tusks. Crocodiles also can't be hit from the front with a tiger/lion/wolf, this is very annoying. Sheep - Should give hide and fiber (maybe left clicking scissors gives hide, right clicking gives fiber) Lions - get rid of the god awful noise they make when running. The sound is fine when you're not riding a Lion (ex: one runs at you in the wild). But a rider constantly hearing the WISH WISH WISH WISH sound is really annoying. Tigers and Elephants are EXCELLENT swimmers, this should reflect in game with a swim speed buff or oxygen buff. Suggestion for new creatures: Hippos, excellent underwater animals that can help you salvage. I'd like to start a petition for Manta Rays to be nice/passive creatures and Sting Rays to be the hostile creatures. A minor nitpick - an animal being completely incapacitated while it does the level up animation is really annoying. Lions have an especially long one that is obnoxious. Tone down the blood animation of Tiger bleeds, I feel like I'm in a horror movie every time I get a minor scratch from a Tiger. Big animals like Rhino, Elephants and Giraffes should have high carry weights and medium health. It doesn't make sense to go through the hassle of taming these things only to have them be less useful than a bear. Buff their gathering rates, make them slower and stam out faster. They should be useful for gathering but not unstoppable killing machines at the same time (You should have to choose, gathering vs war). That's what lions, tigers and wolves are for as well. It would make sense to need a lion, wolf or tiger escort on a large gathering creature. Symbiotic relationships between animals! Let a monkey sitting on an elephant and they get a buff to their melee %. A parrot on a Rhino might give a buff to their stamina. A seagull perched on a giraffe gives a similar buff (maybe weight?). That would make the smaller creatures more useful and would also create a risk/reward situation (smaller animals could be killed by wild animals or players but it's worth the risk because of the buff they provide to your gathering creatures). If you pair up a tiger and an elephant then they should provide a small buff to each other, maybe this pairing is permanent. The Elephant can't pair with another tiger and vice versa. This would create incentive to going out and taming multiple kinds of creatures while also creating another risk/reward situation. It would make animals less expendable. That being said, if animals are less expendable then they shouldn't get wrecked by wild creatures as often as they do. Toning down alpha spawns should do the trick nicely. There should always be risk when going out but not to the point that it's at currently. Armor on animals. Say you don't want a gathering elephant, you want a war elephant. That should be feasible. If you want to pump those precious level skill points into stam and melee to make them viable then having some armor should be possible as well. The armor would weigh a significant amount so that you can't have a war elephant who is also carrying a treasure trove of explosives to the front lines. Having a barbed rope going from one tusk to another to create a little scoop of death. Things like that. Wolves feel inferior to tigers and lions currently. Maybe they could have an ability called Howl (30 second cooldown maybe) that causes a non-stackable Fear debuff on wild animals and players. Said Fear debuff would be minor but maybe it makes wild animals run away and for players it makes their screen shake or darken for a second or two (like you're struck with fear, eh?). A player cannot be Feared more than once per 30 seconds or once per minute to avoid abuse by having multiple wolves. Horses could have an ability called Charge. Maybe they rear up and all friendly players and friendly animals get a small stam/health regen buff for 20 seconds. Non-stackable and a player cannot benefit from Charge more than once per minute. Tigers could have Call of the Wild. This could increase movement speed for 5 or 10 seconds for friendly players and animals nearby. Same rules as the other buffs. Bulls could have Seeing Red. Increases melee damage but reduces coordination for 10 seconds, same rules as other buffs. Cows are not war creatures so I could see them having some sort of calming passive ability. If you have a cow nearby then maybe your vitamins go down a little slower (I know, that doesn't make sense but the immersion is already broken so just bear with me). This would be similar to Penguins. I feel like having each individual creature type contribute something would make them way more valuable and would encourage people to go find and tame them and work harder to keep them alive. It would also make people think more strategically about making space to bring them on a ship to go raiding. These are just some thoughts that I've had! Enjoy
  24. Wolves! Take 2 wolves breed them. Take 2 different wolves breed them. Take 2 baby wolve siblings 'NOT RELATED!' breed them and get a dog? Or a Dire wolf. Same could be done with large animals. Dogs?
  25. Bear - Remove taming Chicken - It's fine Cow - It's fine Bull - Give it ability to drag cargo cart Crow - It's fine. Razortooth - Remove taming Shieldhorn - Remove taming Elephant - Remove taming Giant Pig - Change to allow some kind of meat production Giraffe - Remove taming Horse - It´s fine, perhaps a war saddle ability Lion - Remove taming Monkey - It´s fine Ostrich - Remove taming Parrot - It´s fine Penguin - Maybe an ability to catch fish Rabbit - It´s fine Rhino - Remove taming Seagull - It´s fine Sheep - It´s fine Tiger - Remove taming Vulture - Not sure. Wolf - Remove taming Then add NPC and structures to anything you want to do. It´s supposed to be a pirate game, not another zoo game.
