  1. I have 2 computers with Atlas on both. I use 1 computer to play Atlas. I copy the save folder to an external storage, as a back up. I've played Atlas for years, and learned to survive crashes and bugs, by restoring the saved folder. I use computer 2 to play copies of old saved Atlas folder. I play Atlas by login to Steam like the rest of players. My question is this, If I "Delete Singleplayer Data" from the Atlas menu, will I be deleting my character from online and not be able to login on and play on computer 1? I have spent years playing Atlas, I don't want to lose all that content. But I'm curious to create a new character. Anyone have an idea? I guess I can create a new login in steam with new email, and have it as a second account. It's just that I have allot of mods installed. I don't want to start from scratch and add the mods to a second account. Basically, I have my char in PVE as a single player. I've played that char for years and want to keep it. I want to create a second character but don't know how. If I delete the data from the Atlas menu, will I be deleting my old character?
  2. Very sad love the idea of this game I really wish they would improve graphics for Xbox. I hope that they won’t give up on this game it does have serious potential just needs some major improvements. I tried capturing images to send but this platform won’t let me post any. Compass, extremely blurry, trees/bushes are very blurry and playdough like, animals are also very distorted as well. Very blocky like textures and choppy. Please invest time and effort in improving this game. If it’s a funding issue i guarantee if they started a funding request for improving the game people probably be happy to donate. Just some suggestions love to get back into the game again but I guess I’ll have to leave it be until major improvements are done.
  3. it crashes for me on sp grid a7, but works fine in a8 and freeport. no idea if there's a fix.

As far as im concerned what broke the game was grapeshot trying to please everyone posting here instead of sticking to their original vision of the game, the first iteration was the best, the world was huge sailing for hours to get some resources ment something, trading had value, but they listened to the whiners that want everything quick and easy, and now we have this mosaic of shit, that has nothing to do with the original idea of the game portals ffs etc... real shame.
  5. I have looked all over the internet and haven't found a solution yet. Everyone either says "enter this text into the server file" (it's already there..) or 'oh i figured it out, did something dumb' (ok but..what?!) I have followed several tutorials and tried 3 different server management tools (Atlas Server Control, Steam CMD, Atlas Server Controller) and every single one errors on server start up in the same way. I have no idea what I'm not doing, I followed the guides to the dot. I have port forwarded, I run Redis before starting the servers.   6. Return to claim flags ( only A idea ) Start game with 1 company claim flag of 50/100 meter radius. Company flag has a gold cost to keep it active ( 100/24hrs ? ) Each member of the company gets a claim flag at lvl 1 25 meter radius. Each member gets a second flag at lvl 20 then one every 10 lvls after that. Each member flag placed after the company flag adds gold cost to the company flag ( 25g/flag ? ) ANYTHING built outside of claim flag area decays in 24hrs ( ships need different timer perhaps same as tames , you can claim after 10 days ) If company flag runs out of gold ALL flags on entire map go down over 24hrs then decay takes over for another 24hrs.
  7. ok so recently started playing atlas again, so created a server using ASC on my server pc, it works perfectly locally, but not publicly for people to join yes all the ports used are forwarded in router. so any idea of possible issue?
  8. Plagued by the same problem. Spyglass worked fine yesterday , now it crashes the game, i have no idea how is this allowed to persist for so long, i feel like this game has been abandoned in regards of bug fixes
  9. Hi Guys, So I followed the guides for setting up a server and everything seemed to be going well. However, just as the server starts up, I get a fatal error. problem is, I have no idea what this means or where I have gone wrong. Can anyone decode this and let me know what I have messed up? Thanks

I've just returned to Atlas after 3 yrs & when I heard bout the modular ships like the Carrack I got excited & decided to build a Carrack for island hopping (maps & mats etc) , when ship was completed I grabbed some maps & my favourite bear but found it impossible to get my tame onto ship so scuttled ship but will be willing to try modular ships if they are fixed , Dev's I think you are onto a great idea for new ship designs but if nobody can use them with current game mechanics they will be ignored, please fix this.
  11. Yeah, my company is sitting out this season due to the small grid and the early wipe of this season (frequent wipes are a waste of our time). I believe they pulled the servers from players to "test an idea". They should really just hire some more servers temporarily from NItrado, but I guess they're short on money or can't be bothered. I read on discord they want to get to release 1Q 2023. I can't even remotely see this happening if they're still "trying out ideas" and given the state this game currently is in. Generally it's hard enough to find space to settle. I'm curious what a 6v6 grid will be like. I would assume you'll struggle to find anywhere to settle, but given the lack of players still playing, it could be doable. I'm not willing to find out. They hired a new community manager which looked promising, but if you (rightfully) express dissatisfaction with what they're doing you get banned (harassment) for a week or worse. So yes, it's still a dumpster fire.
  12. Thanks for the suggestions! We are exploring the idea of crew storage (no promises yet thought!), as well as keeping crew with bottled ships. We're also looking into making it easier to place the large structures, because I agree, it's quite a pain to place those down!

I'm talking bugs like animals falling off boats, I'm talking tiles vanishing when placing other tiles, I'm talking placing objects and 'hoping' they'll appear where the blue outline actually is. Bugs that have been in this game since day 1. And yes, I was here for that mess as well." I finally plopped down on an unclaimable island. Do I have any gathering structures? Nope, not one. Entire island taken. I checked 6 grids, all of the islands before I gave up finding something claimable. Claims allow people to just drop them anywhere, even on land they have no intent on using, just to say it's mine, mine, mine. Taking a week to find a place to put down roots is NOT my idea of entertainment. Dime a dozen to you. I have 1 bear and 0 on any island in my sector. I lose that one and I'm out trying to find another. And yes, I'm aware of the techniques on how to recover bears that fall off boats. The question is, should I have to employ these workarounds myself in order to get past bad code? The real problem with Atlas is the same problem with every mmo any more. Back in days of C-64's the coders HAD to get it right as there was no patching. Now, the companies really don't give a shit about fixing things because that doesn't make money. Adding new, useless, pointless, flashy, buggy baubles does.
  14. On both singleplayer and official servers I am forced to play on the lowest graphic settings despite the series x having hardware well above the recommended system requirements. I can't even read my own compass it's so low poly. However when I first got the game on my Xbox one, the graphics were perfectly fine, better than what we have to deal with on modern consoles. So I have no idea why this is happening, I'd love to be able to play this game but the playdough makes it unbearable.
  15. New guy here but used to play a loooot of Ark. Firstly, is the 5x a temporary promotion or more permanent feature? Second I wanted to get some idea of how long it should take a solo person to make a brig in these conditions. If it's worth farming for such a ship or stick to sloop? Thanks!
  16. I'm not against the idea of adjusting company mechanics but nothing you said here is accurate. Megas aren't content gating smaller companies. Megas don't have magical exploits to level cap faster than others. This game was designed around the concept of large companies existing (in addition to smaller ones). Every issue you listed here has nothing to do with megas existing and everything to do with poor game design and an incredibly high knowledge barrier for entry. Also, the whole concept of a "mega" is completely relative. In season 1, megas had a thousand members. In season 9 now, people call companies with 30 players a mega. Because if you're in a small 3 man company, 30 players is an overwhelming force to deal with. So anyone who complains about "megas" at this stage in the game is naive. Or simply bad and unwilling to learn. Or all three. No one is preventing people from farming the maw; even when we had 10+ boats in the maw earlier in the season we would still see small, never-before-seen companies doing their own thing in there. If you're expecting to do content at any time of day with zero resistance, it sounds like you should check out the PvE server. The whole concept of a survival PvP game is that when you go out into the wild, you're risking your stuff. The only company getting content gated this season is Molon Labe.
  17. Good idea would certainly be more thematic running into a ghost ship should be something people talk about, something to hunt down and something that carries good rewards maybe have it as a source of power
  18. So, hear me out. This idea will revolutionize this game and breath new life into it(and likely a big fat healthy playerbase). I'm no game dev but seeing as a large percentage of other games have implemented something similar, it really shouldn't be to hard to do for our wonderful dev team. I know, I can hear some you whiny players now "we don't want to be like other games, wah! Atlas is fine the way it is, wah! You should just go play fortnight, wah!" Well suck it up crybabies! If you want a successful game and a heathy playerbase, Atlas is going to need this fresh new concept. "Fresh" and "new" to Atlas ofcourse. Many if not all of the most succesfull games on all platforms impliment this radical idea in some way and 100% owe their place on the gaming podium to it. I know it may just be my opinion, but there is data to support that this will vasty improve all aspects of the game experience for both PvE and PvP. That's the best part! It's for everyone! I'm actually quite surprised the dev team haven't even thought of it yet, thier going to feel so dumb when they realize how this simple idea could have made this game so successful if they had just thought of it and implemented it earlier on. Ready to have your mind blown and change the world of Atlas forever!!??...Fix it. Like, make the fucking game work. Stop focusing effort into shinny bits and bobbles. Fix what is there before adding more broken shit to ignore. I know, I know. The devs have their excuses, "Early access!" "no game is bug free." "I like the heat up poptarts in my underwear.". But the truth of the matter is crashes, piss poor mechanics, lazy workarounds, and gross oversite eventually kill the game for players. Adding more broken content to a game that is dying off mostly because much of it is broken is like buying a lifetime pass to Disney World for a kid with terminal cancer. TL:DR blah blah, the devs are fuckwits and poptarts are better at body temp.
  19. I am having the same exact issue while hosting. Everything is fine if we are sailing a grid, but the moment we try to go out to another one the game crashes for them. I have no idea how to fix that, or combat dying from heat even after adjusting the health recovery rate and dumping points into fortitude, seeing as swimming doesn't always work even when fully submerged.
  20. I think it's a bad idea for devs to create a medium (a game) for players to be a$$holes to other players. This is a lose lose situation. In order for one player to have fun, it's at the expense of another player. Ideally you want all your customers to have fun. This game has so much potential but the leadership behind it is taking it in directions that just don't make sense. It's hard to imagine where this game will be in a couple years but I feel it wont be in a much better state than it is now.

Since the crew vanishing bug I've been knocking around on a cog collecting discoveries and maps, easy enough to do without any crew to loose, with only one sail. but it has meant going through a lot of zones and my bear has fallen off the boat a half dozen times now, it's not so bad in calm weather, but entering a zone with a storm and cyclones or SoD's nearby makes picking them up hassle that I'm sure is not meant to be a feature in this game. The last time I was traveling slowly along a transition line looking for it I was wishing the bear could be as secure on deck as the water barrel on the back of my boat, and realised it could be as there already is a way to store creatures in objects, 'tame house', Pegasus module. So how about a cage, more fitting than a small thatch stable that can hold dozens of huge creatures, 3 sizes would be suitable small 'shoulder pet', medium 'horse or bear', large 'elephant, and make it only hold 1. I'm not sure if I'm being too realistic for a computer game, and wanting to worry about the logistics of scale when transporting animals, or doing it in a not immersive breaking way, either tame bugging off the boat or cramming a half dozen giraffes into a shed too small for a horse. Any thoughts or revisions to this idea welcome.
  22. found 3 lava vents in the world so far, so far 3 companies have decided that its their lava vent and walled it off from everyone else. way to go once again atlas devs. now anyone with an island that doesnt have a lava vent wont be getting the supplies they need to go the industrial age route. when will you ever learn.. if you leave it up to the players in your game to decide...inevitably the dbag patrol will ruin it for everyone. and thats what theyve done.. in m7.. peaky blinders company walled off lava vent. in f6.. a lawless territory.. another company has walled off a lava vent... in the african territories.. not only has a company walled off the lava vent, they insult and smack talk every person who comes through their sector. brilliant idea devs, smdh.
  23. SNAFU Or, rezzing from refresh/death, only to be starving 20 minutes later. A B C D stats all over the place. Why do we need to eat so often now. I stopped eating altogether. All I eat now is turds to reset. Lost a stage 2 or 3 bear that starved to death right next to 4 full feeding troughs. Checked other bears around to find some but not all were near 0 on food. Some were full. Some just stopped eating. And what's with the market changes this patch? Market/trading used to produce way too much to the point of discarding materials to now so low you must make up the difference by going back to chopping trees. Or just causing bugs. Why mess with things that were working ok? This idea of just pushing mostly meaningless content and not bug fixing is just cheap and all too expected.
  24. Hello, I would like to create a server myself. As a test I have created a 1x1 grid. Normally a computer with DSL-Lite without real Ipv4 is not reachable from the internet. With a SSH tunnel or server-2-client portforwarding I could establish this accessibility now. A local web server is thus accessible from the outside without any problems. Normally this should also work with a local Atlas server or ? The test server is running on Windows 10 and with Bitvise I forward the ports locally to an external Linux server. Which then successfully accesses the local computer from the outside, at least for the web server. I have tried different configurations: The Atlas server bound to 127.0.0.1 which would be the same as the web server. Bound to the external IP which if I understand correctly is not a real ipv4 with DSL-Lite ? The internal IP tried but all without success. Atlas itself does not recognize the server at all so it does not appear in the list. Steam recognizes the server only if it is bound to "localhost". Redis and the server run at least as far as visible without problems. The server appears under Steam - I go to Connect - Steam asks for the password and then loads Atlas. Then comes a message that disappears a bit too quickly followed by a essage box that says "Unable to query server info for invite". I had this message on previous attempts without SSH tunnel with loopback adapter. So something very simple is missing, or I misunderstood something about the whole thing. However, some have already achieved success with the "MS Loopbackadapter" or somehow via VPN so I thought it should work so even more. In the example with the web server it is interesting that this has neither in the Cable Router "Vodafone Station Wi-Fi 6 Technicolor" nor in the Windows Firewall a port permission. The server ports (Atlas) on the other hand are all unblocked, if you can call it that. The cable router, which is probably not intended for this, calls the whole thing "IPv6 Host Exposure" and in detail "Connect remote computers to your private network. Use Host Exposure to control the connection to a specific device.". Does anyone have any idea where it hangs, or if it is even possible ? I'm happy to send configurations or other details if that helps.
  25. I thought that was the original idea from the devs way back but they haven't bothered to implement it yet. Until such time I wish they would nerf the aging process. Before you know it, you're old and you have penalties, so then you have to go to the fountain of youth. I still haven't bothered to go there nor do I know where it is.
