  1. In a game like this it's very natural for conflict to occur and occasionally this conflict can be resolved through diplomatic means. Anything can happen when there is communication. Obviously, when players can't communicate diplomacy is off the table and this is often the case when players from different countries speaking languages foreign to each other are put together in this game. It seems that often people become resentful and mistrusting of literally anyone that they can't communicate with. I honestly think that the mentality this game fosters within players toward foreign players is very unhealthy and negative. I don't expect to see a solution but I don't think I'm the only person to notice this.
  2. I have been victim to this type of bug on more occasions than I care to think about .. I have lost a total of 6 bears on the EU official PVE server, and even more on the EU PVP official server when I played there before. It seems like there is always a risk, for me, that when either ordering a tamed creature to follow, or command it to board a ship, there is a likelihood that it will just get stuck between the structure of the ship and end up dying or just simply disappear before the much dreaded and almost insolent 'your creature was killed!' message pops up in red. I cannot express how frustrating this has been for me. I truly have developed a love-hate relationship with this game, as I did with ARK before. I have 178 hours on ATLAS and 917 hours on ARK but often wonder how I have persevered through such game-breaking bugs; I guess I must really be a fan of the developers and games themselves, which makes it even more painful when these things occur. Please, please, implement some means to address this and stop breaking our collective hearts - I am appropriately posting this on valentines day in the hope that my message is more poignant. Thank you in advance.
  3. so i log on today na pve all ships gone 2 brigs and a galleon and most of my base is gone and these guys striping everything bare patch 18.6 v18.6 - Crow's Nest peak will no longer block the camera. - When it rains, cyclones now only have a 33% chance to occur (previously 100%), and will deal twice as much damage. - Dolphins chance to jump has been reduced to 20%. - Client-side option to hide the Gamepedia Wiki button in player inventory. - Patched out some .ini changes which allowed people to remove certain visual effects granting them an unfair advantage in PvP - On PvE specifically, Ship of the Damned should not attack anchored ships that have not fired upon them. - Rare Resources are now available on PvE Commodity traders for a higher gold amount than regular resources. - Fixed crew on puckle gun taking damage from fire aoe buffs. - When gunports are closed they now reduce their specific snapped-cannon weight by 60% (previously 50%), open-ports are default cannon weight. - Gunport crafting and repair costs are now the same as regular planks. - Fixed an exploit which allowed players to place multiple claim flags at once. - Large Cannons now do 30% less damage against Ship planks and Ship decks.
  4. This is correct. I am 100% unwilling to do breeding on official in it's current state as I just do not have the time and I'm not willing to put anyone else through that in the company I am in. This is due to an issue with stasis calculations causing the animal to take more health damage/food consumption from events that may occur during the time no one is there when someone comes back to the area and renders it again. If you want to breed anything, you have to be there or someone has to be there the entire duration at the moment. I've done breeding on an unofficial with faster times so that I can actually be there the entire duration and will say fires/firepits/grills seem to be inefficient when you can just pop down some torches in wall hooks. I've used 30 torches to stabilize a bear in temperatures between 0 and 40 degrees(tundra) and they last a long time compared to burning wood.
  5. Even if so, it is a bug anyway. PvE players are losing their stuff while trying to get to discovery zone with climbing pick. Instant death could occur when you are using it. This bug happened several times with me and my teammates.
  6. - 2 days ago i couldn´t craft fertilizer. I´m 100% sure i got all the stuff needed in my inventory, the icon was highlighted but it didn´t start crafting -yesterday i was able to craft fertilizer BUT crafting stone arrows didn´t work -today i can´t paint my ship planks. it shows that the colours are applied but the planks look like unpainted last but not least i´ve noticed that i don´t get ressources back when i demolish my own placed structures. even from stuff placed some minutes ago. all these issues are not game breaking but annoying. and they occur since a few days. is it a broken patch?
  7. With the special kraken cosmetic for beating the kraken currently bugged, i think it would be a good idea to have a fail safe built in so people can recover their rare cosmetics if bugs occur. Allow us to purchase the special cosmetic from the cosmetic vendor in freeports after we have unlocked them. Make it like 5-10 gold to get the skin back
  8. 1. You're a tamer, get a rabbit, it's warn you of dangerous animals. 2.Doing treasure map, especially when x2 weekend, you should get enought for pay them for a week irl, with 3-5 quality one. 3. Agree, i think they will fix it ASAP. 4.Craftable in tannery, forcing you to learn about tannery or get a tanner in your team. 5.I think the bigger is your ship the deeper it can be anchored, it should be like that. 6.Rope ladder are not perfect but better than emergency ones, personally, i use grapplin hook. 7,8,9,11. It's your point of view, i respect it, but may be when all things will be great balanced, it will make sense for us. 10.They decrease the rate wich storms occur, and they damage more, it's a good balance for me. Playing as a pirate, storm should not be a problem for us. 12. I run the game at medium custom settings with my old 750 Ti and i find the water beautifull. Always sit down a lil for enjoying a nice sunset. Sure they can & will do better, stay patient mattey!
  9. Hi, in my optionion, the Best Changes in a Small patch since Release! - When it rains, cyclones now only have a 33% chance to occur (previously 100%), and will deal twice as much damage. Perfect! - Client-side option to hide the Gamepedia Wiki button in player inventory. More Perfect! - On PvE specifically, Ship of the Damned should not attack anchored ships that have not fired upon them. About Time! - When gunports are closed they now reduce their specific snapped-cannon weight by 60%, open-ports are default cannon weight. So its finally Usefull to Craft Gunports? Guys you are going in the Right Direction! - Gunport crafting and repair costs are now the same as regular planks. Same. Guys i love this "Small" Update just keep going. Other Players, whats your Opinion?
  10. I know this topic has been mentioned before. But this error has come and gone almost depending on game patches. For example, played for several hours last evening before 2x started. Woke up this morning after 2x enabled and cannot stay in game for more than 60 seconds before the D3D crash happens. Its been this way for the last month or so and a client/server update seems to be the trigger as to whether it will occur or not. If anyone knows of a fix for this it'd be greatly appreciated.
  11. Will have to try the stomach, but attempting to tame last night was an exercise in futility. Getting it bola'd is not difficult. Can use a ranged weapon if a mace won't work. Getting close enough to feed introduces you to incredible knockback from headbutts together with severe injury which makes you unable to RUN in, feed quickly, and spring back out of range. Even having a partner's help and several nearby respawn beds doesn't insure more success. I would find the appropriate feeding prompt, spam "E", and NOTHING would happen. No feeding occurred. Headbutting DID occur though, and more severe damage. Knocked back the distance of a football field with broken bone injuries, the attempt to return to find the feeding prompt was so slow the animal had lost taming by the time I got back. This happened over and over again with zero gain in taming. I think waiting for a 2x taming event and having 2 - 3 people tag-team the feeding might give you a better chance of taming. But for the record, I find the entire process ridiculously difficult. Might be on par with killing the bosses - I haven't done that yet - except that in this case you're trying to keep the animal alive while you're taming. By the time I called it quits last night, I was ready to skewer and roast the devs who developed this near-impossible tame. Used the rhino as proxy instead. Not nearly as satisfying.
  12. I've noticed since i started placing mods that i'm getting this errors starting the nodes... The 'steamcmd' closes but before that plenty of errors occur in several mods (example bellow). Anyone knows what's this, how to fix it and what does it break?? Downloading item 1629969292 ...\src\common\contentmanifest.cpp (650) : Assertion Failed: !m_bIsFinalized
  13. Let's face it, FoY quest is a train wreck under a mudslide covered by an avalanche. Even in concept it is horribly flawed, as how did they expect anything other then what we have to occur. The enemies are overpowered and are in too large a number to fight, evasion only way and virtually impossible through most of it. Take the fact that they had to know we would park a bajillion boats for fast travel and you have a tailor fit nightmare for the community that we have to periodically go through. Not cool Grapshot, not cool at all bro. On the other hand it was a masterful troll on us....
  14. Just keep making noise about breeding. I am sure it will eventually be addressed. As for the moment knowing it's broken I would move on past breeding for the time being and enjoy the other aspects of the game. If you are bored then move on but keep coming back and making noise about it so in the long term it will be resolved. I gave up on taming after the first few attempts when I realized quickly how broke the temperature was. Also kept losing them to patches and the follow up patch spam on the weekends when it's the only time I would even have to attempt it. I finally realized I will just have to wait. Hopefully it won't take days either and they fix the crazy temperature extremes in every area that occur daily.
  15. As with most changes so far, this change will hurt the new player the most. The suggestion you give above for looking for lands was great when the timer was 2 days on all flags, but now even the inactive players with negative flag counts (ie they've had lands taken from them since the patch 3 weeks ago that they have not replaced and have only checked in to refresh their timers) are now uncontestible for 3 weeks. There are many many many people "hedging their bets" having grabbed land back in the start and not played since but continuing to log in to refresh their timers. Then there are quite a few using this system as the original poster suggested might occur; having one or two critical claims in a region and doing nothing but visiting these spots once every couple weeks to ensure no one else can claim them. I don't have an answer here nor am I even saying that this change is a bad one, both systems had their flaws, I just feel there are a lot of what seem to be knee-jerk reactionary changes coming through such as the stone foundations and now immunity for 3 weeks which only truly help pre-established players. Still, the Darksea Dawgs have many lands and welcome the greenest of sailors through to the saltiest old sea dawgs. If you're struggling to claim/retain lands and need a home get in touch! 16. Ahoy Pathfinders! We’ve hope you’ve had a bountiful weekend! For those of you on our Official Network, we’re currently running a bonus 2x event through until Wednesday with double harvesting, gold, and taming on all our Official Servers! This Captain’s Log wraps up a big week which included our first ever Developer live stream, which we’ll have a link to below, as well as the introduction to our upcoming mega content patch, featuring bounties, player markets and more! thar she Streams! Thank you for joining the Seattle Crew for our Livestream! We were thrilled to interact with the community directly in a live environment whilst answering questions you had sent in, sharing an overview of our developmental process, our vision for the game, as well as giving ya a sneak peek at what’s to come! For those who weren’t able to catch the stream, you can check it out here: land ahoy for bounties, markets, cosmetics, and more! Complete Patch Notes During the live stream, we spoke about three pillars of development: optimization/bug fixes, balance changes, and content. Over the past few weeks since the launch of the title the team have been highly focused on the first two pillars, but now we’re ready to talk about the 3rd: additional content! In February, we’ll be launching our first major content update which will introduce a number of exciting new gameplay features and mechanics, new areas to explore, creatures, end game balance, fixes and miscellaneous changes. Here’s what you can look forward to: V16 - ETA: LATE FEBRUARY New Features - Bounty System for PVP: Don't like a particular player or Company? Set a bounty on their heads, then other players can get gold for bringing in the target's head - Guillotine: hanging your foes in a noose taking too long? Off with their heads! - Submarine: explore the depths of the ocean in this small scouting submarine. No weapons on board, but it does have claw arms to help harvest the ocean floor and explore (demolish) shipwrecks - Player shops in freeports. Players can setup automated shops in each freeport, listing loot for sale and naming their own gold coin prices - New creature: Giant Crab. It can carry heavy loads, along with players, tames and wild creatures - Tame tokens are available for more mythical creatures, allowing players to have limited-time tames of the Fire Elemental, Rock Elemental, Cyclops, and Gorgon. BONUS: Rock Elemental and Cyclops are rideable! - New cosmetics: get your pirate on with hook hands and peg leg cosmetics. Yarr! - New armor cosmetics to customize the look of your Company and crew - Streamer Stealth Mode: client option to disable showing all location information; super useful to prevent stream-sniping - New ship figurehead cosmetics to customize the look of your boats! - Added a new deep ocean trench environment to explore, with powerful underwater creatures and is the home of the new Giant Crab - Added a new extensive Polar Dungeon, only accessible by Pathfinders who have all the PowerStones or have defeated the Kraken Endgame Balance improvements - Beating the Kraken unlocks a new Feat, which allows players to prevent wild creatures from aggroing on them within range for a period of time - Beating the Polar Dungeon unlocks a new perfect water breathing Feat, allowing players to remain underwater for a period of time without consuming any oxygen Updates - Players can now mount a sail to directly control the sail's open/close amount and rotation settings in a more intuitive way - AOD AI Ships will now come in multiple size variations with different stats and difficulty levels - Global territory message updating - Any dead ships (shipwrecks) from your Company appear with a unique icon on your map now, so you can find the wrecks - Character creator now has a Height slider to make it easier to set your character's desired height - Territory map will now display allies as teal-colored - Reorganized claim flag notifications, so they no longer clutter up the entire HUD when lots of messages are flying by Misc - Streamlined ship hull rendering for performance gains - Server Performance improvements round 2 (+25%) - Additional balance changes - NPCs will be added to Freeports which will allow players to redesign their character's tattoos for a gold cost - Significant server improvements over the coming weeks, where we'll be doubling performance increment by increment. released patch notes Over the weeks ahead, we’ll be talking more specifically about some of these features in detail, including the Bounty System for PVP servers and Player Shops in freeports. Whilst the team have begun working on the content changes, we’ve still had a lot done over the past week in terms of updates, with more on the horizon too! In regards to balance, we gave wolves a thorough overhaul, as well as tweaks to both the Wild and Tamed Dragon plus the Kraken is now easier to defeat after having it’s health sliced and more rewarding, with a brand new passive skill that reduces all Feat cooldowns by 33%! Additionally, this patch also introduced phase one of our aging process and the Fountain of Youth. Characters aged 90 years and higher will receive a specialist quest which encourages them to visit the Fountain of Youth to reset their characters age back to 20, remove an age debuff, and receive a rejuvenated buff which is a significant permanent statistic boost. The past week has also included a number of other bug fixes and balance changes as we continue to iterate on and fine tune the live game. You can check out the full list of changes here: current v15.35 - Fixed an issue with Wild and Tamed Dragon scaling which would have cause it to have incorrect stats. - Rebalanced base weights for tamed creatures (increase) v15.33 - Fixed an issue where clients would not correctly see the Rejuvenate buff - Fixed an issue where players could not tame the Dragon using the token - Fixed an issue where players may not have been able to feed bola'd creatures due to a desync on servers v15.21 - Fixed an issue where doors, gateways, and gunports would break on server reload v15.1 - New "Fountain of Youth" quest will appear for characters aged 90 years and higher. The "Fountain of Youth" (currently represented as a magical particle effect) appears in a single Golden Age Ruins across the ATLAS, near the Power Stone Container. 18. Agree completely. This is a more robust version of a PvP game designed to make meaningful PvP occur. It's clear the Dev's never designed this as a PvE game and want to take it in a PvP direction though.
  19. speed sails are just far and away the best. ships of the damned do not have to cope with wind so having sails with a cool bonus to wind direction are meaningless. speed sails let you smoothly get away, they make your cargo move faster and your adventures occur faster. Manoever sails should either go a tad faster or make your boat turn much better. even to the point that you can swing and avoid a cannon volley. weight sails are horrible. they should increase your ship weight by a percentage (a chunky one) AND they should let you suffer near 90 percent encumbrance before you get the 75 percent penalty.
  20. You can actually fit more than 2 people in a carriage, it's a bit like a clown car if you want it to be. But we've most recently used this for doing some treasure maps where it was more beneficial to have a few tames(bears) haul a carriage with 2 people rather than have everyone try to follow on tames. In water it ends up being a submarine with windows so the people in the back can and will drown if you go under. They do need to add collision to it so that when travelling around they don't just get launched into/on rocks and random bits of terrain. Cargo saddle is the strange one, it adds nothing right now that matches the definition "Cargo" I've seen one post saying it was supposed to increase weight by 1k but I've not been able to get this to occur. I would love to use it for "Cargo" and be able to carry around things like adding a storage chest or something to it and be able to haul around a few thousand kg of stone/metal(reduced weigh on hauling tame as it's not lifting but pulling the weight).
  21. It's an easy change, really don't understand why they don't just bang it in with the updates that regularly occur. How hard is it to change the decay time? Just like with structures after 4 days. If you're serious enough that has a boat and doesn't want to maintain it yourself then get an NPC on there. There is no reason rafts and boat should be littered along the shore, ridiculous.
  22. TBH they should just try to reduce freeport decay and see what happens until they find a better solution (like spawning additional instances of freeports when needed). Maybe freeports will become cluttered with ships and unplayable. Maybe not. Can't know for sure until it's tested. If the problem occur, maybe try to improve stationary defences to the point where people with land and resources will prefer having ships at their bases and ready for action (ahem, instead of nerfing our stone garages), while those who aren't that lucky or just adventurers who found themselves too far from home will have some way of going to sleep without being certain that their ships will still be there when they wake up. Mega companies can already use freeports for safe storage btw - just let a few people from their army log in and repair their fleet every 5-6 hours. Since they don't do that there's a reason to assume that freeport cluttering will not be such a major problem after all.
  23. Lost at zone transfer at same time servers seem to crash. Two things occur: instead of zoning you default to a respawn screen, but are unable to see or select the boat you were on. If that happens, you usually cannot spawn anywhere, and are forced to do a new character in order to play. The ship you were on is often lost entirely as if it has been deleted. No message in log.
  24. 1) Set up how? Uninstall or give permissions? I tried AVG and Avira both seem not to block any BattleEye operations. Built-in OS? 2) What's a bramier? Couldn't find that word's translation 3)Tried that already, only gets me a new prompting window after reinstalling and first starting the game, but kick still occur afterwise. 4)Disable UAC in your OS is only for trouble shooting and shouldn't be kept for long. It’s what makes it safe for you to run an administrator account as your daily user account. 5)Change of region? Where and to what purpose? Aslong as they deal with chicken shit like organic paste for stone structures, and can't reply in such major gamebreaker threads that prevent people from playing on their official servers for weeks now, how can I think they really deal with it? No answers or help given up to this point. As great as the pirat game idea with customizable ship building is, as bad is some of it's execution and customer support, sadly.
  25. Well you could make a boat out of pumice, which is a stone, and DOES float. And it has been known to occur naturally. And the largest recorded "pumice raft" was several hundred KM across and thick enough to walk over it. So in short you could build a boat out of stone.
