  1. really ideally would be best to look into removing alot of every tick and use more Parent to child BP less overhead and enforce rules on buildings would go for a long away. like the biggest issue with server performance is mainly due to Pawn density and Buildings... Recently Conan exiles did a thing where they scrap the idea of trying to make every building pieces to be its own BP now they are all instanced based on a single BP. madness i know. but it was what they had to do you could also look into a possible upgrade to the latest engine 4.20 or 4.22 as you guys might have more bugs due to internal engine then you like... but that my guess and .02 cent suggestion.

Why not just have the cannon have a long ass reload time.... or better have it to do 30% damage to the bear health so you can only fire 3 time before bear dies..... this is due to me thinking that recoil of cannons can be brutal against bears since it force and recoils are insane .... Or induce a 30% chance of the cannon misfiring and instead self explode harming the bear destroying the cannon and doing 50% of damage to the cart. There bear cart with cannon nerfed.....
  3. I really like the Jade cocoon Ps1 game style of breeding. It still is the best breeding type combat game you will ever see.
  4. or you know they could take conan exile aproach and just have a fish trap that takes in a meaty bait and ever 2 sec it randomize a chance to catch a fish for the duration of the meat's decay rate. so if it has a 5 min decay rate then that mean you get 9000 attempt to catch a fish in it. It is low grade fish mostly with a chance of mid grade fish... the low grade fish is then used as bait to catch mid to high grade of fish. What do yall think... it lessen the effect of needing to find the stupid sap and it give you a bait type for real fishing at the same time it lets you obtain low grade fish to be use in recipes. Honestly its stuff like this that makes me wonder how does they even profit.

  6. Ill be honest they shouldnt go around nerfing things without buffing something else. Like here an idea give a crab the ability to Toss cargo at things for damage obviously cant damage buildings or ships but can do damage to wildlife, tames and other players. like Grab cargo random ten things and add its weight up and that how much damage the thrown (cargo crate) as a weapon does but that can only be used when you are +40% weight so in essence it limits your movement but gain offensive ability. Its a short range weapon but act as boulder. This my friend is call Balance. Im sure someone is gonna load up the heavyiest shit in the inventory and procceed to try to do massive damage but keep in mind you lose that loot and its randomize so its alot of preparation to work with. Keyword is Balance... for every nerf you must buff something else.
  7. So i was thinking instead of raising the cap of population of clans. Why not put on a very high gold cost , Maybe 3,000 g at start, with a 24hrs cooldown it give 5 population expansion And each new upgrade multiplies the cost required by a factor of 4. And to purchase these upgrade you must travel to a freeport. so mega tribes would have to work toward a goal to increase pop size rather then zerg flood from day 1. and of course the limit would be 25 extra pop in additional to the base population.
  8. or you know they can use a ABS node to force anything that 0 to a positive 0. or put condition like if less then 0 then force set to 0 and then add a clamp. UE4 is easy to do this... But they dont have parenting blueprint so they gotta fix for all tames bp individually.
  9. its mainly because of textures being so damn high. cut down on textures and you will have less sized game. its all about texture and polygon size
  10. I'll be honest here What makes a game great is when you set rules to make a game free of chore while allowing the chores to be how should i put it a choice to do rather then require to do. IF they want to see a growth in player get rid of vitamin make the game easier to play and to enjoy not harder.
  11. with float values this is an issue in UE4 you can go negative or positive. to which they should a gone with int variable as it can only be postive and no decimals and later you can make conversion on int. the only reason to why you want to use float value is if you want precision such as rotator and location based. Or if you really want to use negative value.

One of the thing they could have done... to which to this day i still have no idea why no one want to do this.... is to make Tree never respawn but only respawn if you lay the seed down in a given area and have it grow the tree over time. With rocks id suggest to let us have a burrower animal like a giant beetle that would collect resources at a given rate... Thus makes you farm for resource but control how finite things are. So if you wanted to you could chop all tree down and not plant a seed and make the island barren for a few days.
  13. Just keep in mind that CE is on 4.15.3 while atlas is on 4.5...And to boot private servers on Conan exiles are much more exciting then official server. I mean sure it doesnt have boats but we have thrall and its Conan and It has much more dynamic dungeons then pirate of dumb caves. Also graphic is much more pleasing on CE.
  14. actually the real shit is to allow food to get stacked and pause timer on multiple of them ...or better yet Put a Hard quantity cap on them such as for example 10,000 quantity but Allow unlimited stacking... so you could have 5,000 Of one type of meat and 5,000 of one type of berry and you are locked out and thus greatly extend the timer of the food and now you can store actual food to last. This is pretty easy to do. im sure they can do it. Its not rocket science... for those who are devs Loop de loop is your best friend.
  15. just had this thought... If you have a treasure map and when you load into the island grid IT activate the undead And they go around murdering everything on the island Until they are defeated. Would be a great way force some base to be redrawned.
  16. well if you gotten your hands on dev kit and take a quick look.... the data base changes isnt so easy to do since they have to change it for every Blueprint.... if they would use a more upgrade and less unstable engine they could have compile all of their data into data table and made the game run so much easier and more easily accessible to do changes.

Heres how you solve off line raiding are you ready for it... every claim you have X that by 10 (including sea claims) Per day.... so a large companies that has liek over 200 or 2000 flag Would need 2000 gold or 20000 gold per day upkeep or risk Flag to start declaiming all at once And the Tax bank that we have.... It would just draw from A single Tax bank that you as a company declared. and i would move tax bank to at the top of the list of stuff to be built with. A single flag claim would not charge you any gold but on the 2nd one would charge you 20 gold per day and then 10 more per claim. Like ill be honest 3 claim is big enough for any sizable clans. Now what this got to do with Offline raid its easy... Requiring more land cost more gold more gold mean they have to grind more now. Which mean less time to make time to pvp.

  19. Id like to chip in is that most of the other games are more of a pick up and play and forget... with atlas its like pick up, play, and lose everything. To create high stress game is just gonna drive people away. We dont play game to be stress out... in fact we play game to relieve stress.
  20. That what i thought it was at first. As it would just be consumed when you make it since it would make blueprint that much more appealing and toward the value of it. To make Trading more plausible since this would give power to smaller companies / big alliance the ability to craft stuff without having to wait on certain people to get on.
  21. Soemthing to point out...... This isnt even covering over if you are playing on Official server or not.... So if you were to say 30% of those player that are on private server that mean only 21k that are spread out 4 servers..... so thats what 5250/40000 sever if we are talking evenly spread out myself i am not playing because of reasons.... and that is REAL life comes first.
  22. they need to re do the classes anyway as they have have too many variables that are not in use on every single one of them for example On animals they have the vitamin ABCD as variables. And I dont see a damn thing that makes them different from players. they use hte same set up tamed wild alpha etc. for each variable that are not in use on a Blueprint just Add more saved data onto the game that doesnt need to be there. I cant see what in the parent class of those BP to see the blueprint events to see whats going on. But it depends on how they have it set up. I know from in Dark n light dev kit I belive they use the same stuff? I was able to see stuff... and my god they used event tick on everything.... that really bad.... because that mean that Every frame tick it was updating variable and checking variable. It was strange to be honest. Id would have changed it from every event tick to Signaling when an action has been done .... im sure you know the... different between Input -> action... And The need to Check every frame (did I press A) boolean -> action Those are examples that ive seen personally. And i did a test a couple of times in UE4 and that was Avoid event tick at all cost instead change it to a dispatcher/callable so that input call action instead of Ticking checking input. Those are just examples also there a really good Video that explains what i mean by Parenting child and actor component.   23. ? have you used Ue4 ? now for granted i havent done C++ blueprint yet. but As far as im aware Ue4 makes it extremely easy to do this. Like for example Let say in your game you have 400 type of monsters but within those monster you have sub group such as Wolves, bear, demon, mermaid, etc. so you would first figure out that Monster base parent Should have these variable and then you create a child class and then you just work your way through determine that each child should inherit variable and component. So that As a bear and a wolf would have different Parent but each of those parent 's Parent would be the controller variable and event that all animal should behave. And with using actor component you can custom code and easily change how blueprint behaves. Compare Ark dev kit and Conan exile dev kit. And see how they are structured. You will see what i mean. Ive had ALOT of modder who came from modding ark.... Said that Modding CE is ALOT easier to deal with since they have proper Data management and stuff. And you guess it they use Data table for their items to control from a central source to influence what each item does. So it takes alot away from Blueprint to blueprint to Data table to load in values on the fly and can change for easier balancing. If anyone got the time compare the two... and come back to me with your opinion. Let me put it this way I can mod CE on this PC as 16 gb of ram is enough. But with ARk or Atlas i cannot do it there too much Referencing and unused variable that bogs down the system rams.
  24. Well i dont know... I didnt build the game nor would i build their game using Ark code. Id would have gone ahead and get Ue4.21 and rebuild the game with better Actor parenting and Actor components... and to use Data table to be used as better data management. and Less buggy issue. So basically what happen was that they didnt want to rebuild the game to better suit Atlas Views so they took an existing game and mod it... in hope that it would be more fun then ark. but really what they have done is screwed themselves over... dont get me wrong the artist that they have are really good.... it just the developer that they are lacking at this point. They need to have a seperate team of dev to rebuild the game in a different version and then re-tool their Blueprints to better suit their needs. I gaunteed that the game would run alot better and less laggy, as well as im sure you all guess it... by using Ue4.21 improved network capability they can increase pop count on each grid.
