  1. The ships info is already stored in a database that has everything on board and the current state such as plank color/health, your rifle and its durability, etc. Flipping that state in the DB to be inside a hangar/shipyard of some sort should be easy. The database should not need a major overhaul to do this. We just need a new structure (very high HP) to stop griefing/suicide runs from destroying dozens of ships, server side updates to handle the process and clientside updates for animation and control.
  2. Water should be radioactive due to the Kraken thus requiring we farm iodine to make pills and they are only located in a trench in a specific part of the Atlas.
  3. I hear you chewing on them. That is when I show you the ones I want you to see. If you had the discipline to not chew on Cheetos for awhile you might see the other one.
  4. What a shit show this thread is. Sheesh.
  5. They are going to fix it......it just needs to be tweaked. We liked the change, but immediately saw the gap in its implementation and complained. Turning it on and off sounds good, but does not fix the underlying issue in how it works. 1 metal lost every single repair. Every time it decays 1 HP another metal lost. We checked our ships 6 hours after this was implemented and none of our ships had metal on them and many were missing other basics. We keep some ships stocked and ready to go for a quick reaction force, not possible with this change without a lot of extra work. Defeats the purpose.
  6. If they can look in your chests then they are already in your base thats built to protect your assets. In that case you need to get more creative like mentioned above. Another place is under water. I've built small storage areas under water that have never been touched. Not even more own company knows they are there.
  7. Is there any way to enable this disabled feature? I have randomly gotten it to turn back on after green screening when trying to fast travel, but I cannot replicate it consistently. I ask because many of us are hitting max levels and traveling around to new islands for discovery points is beginning to be very important again. This is difficult to do when its hard to tell which ones you have been to and which ones you have not. I really wish there was an option we could turn on and off. I would probably leave it off most of the time if performance was an issue and turn it back on when I need to get more Discovery Points.
  8. In your case if you unanchored and reanchored I would submit a ticket. Possible bug or they can clarify how this mechanic works and you can report it here. This is how things get fixed. Lodge an official complaint so they can officially look into it in an organized manner. Random comments in the forums are very difficult to check up on. In my company this has not been a problem, but we also have quite a few more active members. I hope they are able to investigate your issue and resolve it. Which reminds me. We still have a galleon stuck between zones. @Jatheish was looking into it and has seemed to have forgotten. Its more of a company joke now than anything else.
  9. I think this change was more about forcing old abandoned crap to be deleted automagically clearing space up. People actively playing can avoid this.
  10. I would argue heavily against A. The devs have consistently implemented player ideas and made changes based off of our feedback. We've even had them pop in our zone and ask us to do something specific for them to see what happens. Its not super unusual to see Jat talking in global.
  11. This is something my company has discussed and for the most part we all like it. It would be nice to have the ability to recover some of the high end planks, cannons, decks, sails, etc when a ship goes down. In Eve it randomly drops ship parts. Why not in Atlas? Want to see more standard ships at sea instead of high end mythical ships? Put this in. I know a lot of people who would be happy tossing 10 standard brigs against a high end mythical galleon to sink it. We could lose every single one of them and consider it a win if we could loot that ship. Flip side is if you lose your high end ship, you have a chance to recover some of the planks, cannons, etc to start building a new one. Softens the loss quite a bit.
  12. I can confirm that the crows int buff is purely level based. We breed some crows and now I am trying to take it everywhere with my bear and slaughtering every animal on the island to level it up. At 85 now. Would like to get it to 100 by the end of 4x.
  13. I do agree it adds to the overall immersion to the game. Gives it polish. I personally can do without it, but if its there you better believe I would play around with it and quite possibly piss my company off with what and where I build it.
  14. I've never spent more than $1500 USD on a PC build. Over the years I might toss in more HDD space, RAM and newer GPU's, but never more than $1500 on the inititial build. Current PC is quite old. I7-3770k @ 4.2ghz. I've upgraded the video card 3 times in 6-7 years time. Anyone who spent $5k on a PC when I built mine either replaced theirs by now or spent just as much as I did to keep up with the times. In the end I spent $3500 less over its lifetime. It is not worth it. Been building PC's since the 90's and work IT for a living. I see no benefit spending that kind of cash besides announcing to the world you have more money then common sense. EDIT: Going to be upgrading soon. Debating which CPU I want to get. Waiting on the Ryzen 2 reviews next week. All I need is a motherboard, RAM and cpu/cooler. Reusing everything else. Should be able to stay under a grand no problem. Running a 1080ti I picked up off of Ebay. Should get me through another generation or two before I bother upgrading that and making the ray tracing plunge.
  15. 5k? What currency are you using to spend 5k on a damn PC?
  16. I've never had a icebox not produce ice. It does it on its own. You are either doing something wrong or its bugged. Make a new one.
  17. Sounds like more work. More responsibility. More that can go wrong. There are enough things to worry about and adding another job on a ship, another thing that can literally blow up in your face sounds like a bad idea.
  18. You can all stop the faction talk. This isn't Planetside. You bitch and moan about large companies and their alliances then mention factions in the same damn breath. So dumb.
  19. I like regional markets. Go to a freeport. Find market vendor and put the goods you brought with up for sale. All market vendors in that freeport zone show the same goods put up for sale on the other islands in the same freeport zone and they can be picked up from one another. Example: Go to south freeport island market vendor and purchase goods that were put up for sale in same zone at the north island. The goods are transfered to the purchaser at the south island. Saves time and decay on the boat. Its not like you can be intercepted picking it up from another island in the freeport. People can put in sell/buy orders and/or sell/buy immediately if the price is right. Let people also see what goods at all freeport markets and their prices. You can buy if you want, but you have to sail there to pick it up. This promotes transporting goods and gold. People say why buy/sell when you can do it yourself. This is true in almost all games. Sure some are easier than others, but in the end convenience and time are a HUGE factor. If I want to build a mythical brig and I am short on a couple resources found in multiple locations I can either plan a trip to get it or hit up the market and have the resources much sooner. I have all this gold laying around so why waste hours farming when I could travel 2 zones and buy it. I'd also like to see maps, BP's, and finished goods for sale as well. Hell if they could auction ships that would be awesome. I'd love to see where that could go. So many BP's go to waste due to lack of time/needed mats to build them. I have 50 laying around I want to build, I just can't. Don't have the time to farm it all up and transport it back. I also have more than enough gold, but cannot really spend it on anything. A regional market could solve that issue in one night. EDIT: Take it a step further. Allow transportation contracts. Buy resource your region does not have from another regional market. Setup vcontract to have it shipped to your regional freeport for pickup. Puts more ships at sea transporting goods. If I was transporting a package to another freeport you better believe I am looking for resources I have that are on the rarer side at the destination so I can bring them with and sell them and then doing the same for the trip back.
  20. Choosing the priority would be nice, but I feel its a bit of a knit pick. EDIT: We need all the server performance we can get so I am ok with that.
  21. Haha nice. I read the thread title and was like "wtf is this guy talking about? did he find an exploit?" Love the design!
  22. He is a proven idiot. I would not even engage him.
  23. Love the tavern idea. @Jatheish make it so!
  24. He wants to shrink company sizes and alliance sizes. Kinda flies in the face of people working together when you artificially force them apart.
