Hello, I am fairly new to Atlas, my buddies and I started this high-seas adventure about a month ago. In that time we were having a blast and were under the impression that this game is having a bright future despite its current population crisis. When I have heard the news about the new lead designer I was all hyped up. I was waiting for the upcoming dev stream like crazy - after all, you have marketed this stream as if it was the Second Coming of Jesus. I was feeling the incoming "wind of change" to the point I have decided to participate in the forum thread collecting questions from the player base, in that thread it was the first time I realized how many issues this game has and I saw some real, constructive and important questions being asked there - for sure they will make it to Wednesday's Stream, after all the new lead designer would be reason enough to touch on the current state of the game. "THE Stream" finally happened and my naive hope for this project going "full speed ahead" died along with it. Seriously, last time I have seen such a question-dodging non-answer vague dev stream was in the early Elder Scrolls Online days and that nearly killed the game (but Zenimax Online Studios has a massive financial backing and tons of developers on payroll so they eventually recovered, I sincerely doubt you guys have such resources). You know that situation when you are working at a corporate office, and they force you to do some bullshit presentation meeting or you will be excluded from "Granola Fridays" for a month? So you come up with some bullshit pie-chart about "Vertical integration of best collaborative practices" or some other non-topic nobody cares about? This is what this dev stream was. I work at a software company and I know it is sometimes very hard to come up with a meaningful developer stream, but doing a pre-recorded dev stream with a new lead designer that announced big changes and then filling it with pie charts, "maybes" and "we are thinking about it" was honestly disrespectful towards your backers. Forum topic (you have marketed heavily) was filled with some genuine questions yet you have ignored the issues completely. From what I have gathered from the game chat, discords etc. people do not bother to log-in to the game as they have no idea if the servers will be wiped or not. I'm a new player, I have just started and I have no business to hope for a wipe as I have not experienced the game fully yet, but the "wipe or no wipe" question seems to be tearing whatever is left of your community apart. You announce "big changes" (altho we still have no idea what those changes will be as you have talked about them so vaguely Todd Howard would be proud) but refuse to specify what those changes will be and you have left all the possible, heavily requested, content information in a realm of speculation. You also announce Xbox cross-play yet you do not touch on the wipe issue The stream had over one thousand viewers, the chat was nothing else but a wall of people asking about any information regarding the wipe, yet you have ignored it completely with this pre-recorded nonsense and chose to answer questions about cat whiskers and color palettes - if I was a veteran player I would feel insulted. Do you guys have such high hopes for your Xbox launch you believe you can ignore the current players? Cause it sure looks like that and let me tell you - with that attitude whatever player base you will accumulate through the console launch won't last for long. After watching this stream I am on a crossroads, I am not sure if I want to continue playing a project with no vision and with such poor communication, at this point I think even Fallout 76 does a better job at managing their community and I never thought it was possible to be worse. It seems that your Galleon is sinking and all you have is medium planks.

There was a real moment, an honest, enjoyable and significant thing in the stream that was said, and it was said by Jesse funnily enough, when he was laughing while saying something similar to "what other game can you put a elephant on a ship, go sail then board and fight other ships" The most frustrating thing is that the devs made such a good skeleton for a game, that surely all that was needed is for them to play the game and add to it piece by piece, but they refuse to take steps in order to create an actual game. I enjoy the game, I just don't enjoy the way the devs operate. Re watching the previous livestream is quite funny now. They are so adamant about stating "no wipe" and then they happily announce torpedos and the water camel etc. Torpedos was one of those infamous wildcard/grapeshot things, where they demonstrate that they don't know how their game works by releasing a feature that did not work within the game, it broke the game to the point where the new feature was then nerfed into the ground, the nerf was so broken to the point that nobody uses the new feature. Now in this new video, we see a bunch of if's, maybe's, we don't knows, it's lots of hard work so we are just milking xbox. Meanwhile, it still costs less resources and effort to destroy a base/ship than it does to create it. From one extreme to the other. They will just tell us whatever they think we want to hear. Actually, the other significant thing that I can think of off the top of my head, is when Jat mentioned that he had read threads with detailed ideas and suggestions, thought out posts with thousands upon thousands of words. I think it was a thread about factions. It was most likely a post that demonstrated why factions can prevent player base from cannibalising itself. The stream then continues with the guys not mentioning anything further at all from this thought out, well detailed thread. Its all just "too much work" and not giving any details or thought out explanation of anything, no details or their current thoughts on factions. I think the theory that microsoft provided the devs with a laundry list of fixes that they needed to make in order for them to sell their game on xbox and not be a total embarrassment/totally obvious that the game is currently a sham, is probably true. They need to fix the shitty ladders etc, but they wont fix them for pc players, they need to be told by microsoft and will only fix stuff for that quick short term buck off people with *new* money.

I wish I had been. I watched it this morning and it was excruciating. Recap - 8 months after the game launches in which they repeatedly state that they are emphasizing performance and bugs, they present a roadmap. The roadmap is not going to start until they launch Xbox, which may or may not be sometime in the fall. The first phase of the roadmap is performance and bugs. So 8 months ago they released a pirate game with no pirates in it. After a year of focusing on performance and bugs, while delivering claims 1.0, claims 2.0 , a succession of increasingly ugly tames, and a couple of single player modes, all improvements are now going to be held while they focus on new sales. There may or may not be a wipe for the new sales, but if it makes things all nice and comfy for some rube holding a 20 dollar bill , then hey, why not? (You'd think the rubes would see this as a sign of how well they'll be treated in the future , but I guess that's why they call them rubes) After that's done, they are going to try to improve performance and fix bugs. (If you can't do that in 8 months, can you do it at all?) And they have stated very firmly this time that they really do understand now that it ought to be a pirate game and they have the charts to prove it. Water. Lots and lots of water. No new ships for a long time because those are hard. Water is easy. All you need is 2 hydrogens and an oxygen. So hold onto your missing reward hats. If you liked the first 8 months of Atlas, just wait for them to finish the sales part of game development and starting next year you can have all the performance and bug fixing you can stand. After that - pirates.

Ive been playing since Christmas. I put a lot of hopes on yesterdays Q&A. Those hopes disappeared long before the pre-recorded session did. There was a lot of if's and maybe's, but no real hard fact of what was going to happen. No new content till after Xbox goes live? That is a kick in the face to the long term players. The so called road map should have been happening right from the beginning. Stage one should have been in place from day one not 8 months later. Stage 2 was so hit and miss about what we might get. when new ships were mentioned all we really heard was "well we would like to add new ships but the are to much hard work". Not disputing that, but hasn't the ground work for them already been done with the existing ones? You know how the system works as you have 4 pretty poor ships already. The pie chart seemed as if it was put there to make it look like there was going to be some major changes. IF that is true they need to be happening now not after the launch of Xbox. The game needs new life. We thought we would get that with a new lead dev but all we are getting is more of the same. Mega update 3 has been ditched or become "Mega lets add Xbox and ignore the current players update". This is not what we want to hear at all.

Yep, they did not want to be there. Many moments that were disrespecting and even insulting to their player base. I was disgusted. So many cringe moments. No details. Just make xbox version. They don't play the game is the cause of the problem (sound familiar, guys? lol) The gally is sinking, they don't even play the game, and creating new variation of medium planks to fit a gally is resource intensive so they would like to not drown but maybe they have to. So sad to think that that nonsense was pre-recorded and the best they could do.

When I first bought Atlas, I was expecting it to be a reskinned ARK. As a long time ARK player, I wasn't overly phased by that as despite the quite average performance, ARK could be a quite beautiful game, rich in diverse and interesting locations. And so when i first bought the game, I did so expecting to refund it after 2 hours. I just wanted to check it out basically. I ran around the first Freeport and enjoyed the new setting. I thought the little Freeport itself was extremely underwhelming and lifeless - something which didn't remotely look like what was shown in the trailer, but I continued. I ran around doing the basic things to level - killing, collecting etc until I finally had enough for my first raft. By this point i was planning on refunding. I liked it, but it just seemed under-whelming. And then I got on the water. I set out on my first raft and holy crap - the water was amazing and far better than I had imagined. I'd always liked the water aspect of ARK but it never felt fully-developed, but this water - the way it moved, the way it bobbed my raft atop it, the feeling of being on it, awesome. It was here that it didn't feel like ARK but it's own game. As I journeyed further out and the sun went down, i had my little fire roaring and my sail up - i bought the game. I was so impressed with that early experience. In time, I built my own sloop and started to explore properly. I crewed it with NPCs, began collecting salvage, deep diving, exploring islands. All of this was extremely enjoyable, but the more i played the game, the more dependent on land i became and the water aspect became something that fell into two categories: 1. I was either not using my ships at all or: 2. I was sailing for vast amounts of time with nothing happening other than changing the sail directions from time to time. I was spending huge amounts of time on farming. I was banging my head in frustration trying to tame animals to reduce the farming times. I was having to erect great ugly structures to house those animals and well, the cycle just became boring. I didnt want to be spending time on land, I wanted to be on the sea - but to be on the sea it required a bunch of land time and well - it just declined from there. One thing I really thought lacking in ARK was a lack of structures/towns of any form. With things like the Freeports and various ruins, I thought this is where ATLAS could have really taken itself to the next level. Funnily enough there's little docks and buildings around the various islands but they're always empty - interesting but soon forgotten. I wish it was here that the developers started to place emphasis. The game needs to be about the sea and the coastlines. Not taming animals, not erecting giant inland bases - but erecting coastal ports and trading hubs. Give us a reason to travel. Dont spend all your time on island biomes - create interesting mini-islands and atols, reefs teeming with fish and hand created shipwrecks. Create port towns which are like the Freeports on steroids - fleshed out with NPCs and things players themselves can add to them. Give us more to do when sailing - more aquatic creature diversity. More NPC ship varieties that aren't always threatening. Migrating birds, weather diversity, island forts. Return the emphasis to the sea - for that's where Atlas truly shines. Create bigger waves, different waves, whirlpools, sea monsters, different coloured water. Create a ton of different underwater biomes so we have a proper reason to visit them and dive. If we want a land based survival pvp - we have ark and conan. Atlas is only weakening itself by continually expanding down that area. Work on the sea. Focus on the sea. Make the sea the best thing possible and focus on why people like me bought the game - to sail and be on the water. Or by the water. Always

I could do dead guy quotes all day long and Twain definitely had some of the best. Two of my favorites are when he said of a politician he despised “ I did not attend his funeral but I wrote a letter saying I approved of it.” and also a great quote for fathers “When I was 16 my father was the most ignorant man who ever lived. By the time I turned 21 I was amazed at how much the old man had learned.” And since you gave me an excuse I’m going to also throw in a random fave of mine i’ll never have a reason to use here. ”I am sitting in the smallest room of my house. I have your review in front of me. Soon it will be behind me.” - Max Reger

How it can be possible, after month of waiting without any news, after all the topics post in this forum and dying network you can make a stream like that. There was more than hundred of question post on your Q&A livestream and you just answer about two question, "what is your roadmap" and "do we will have crossplay of xbox" but what about all the fucking other important information we are waiting for? You didn't even speak about the sail who was on the background on the start of the livestream. Speaking about color and hat skin when they are hundred of people asking for a wipe or not in the stream..... 40 minutes of stream - 10 min of intro and you get the smaller stream you ever made when it's the more needed I'm really fan of atlas but at this state, it's supporting a game who doesn't want to success...

Nah, When you plunked down your cash you had no idea what to expect. The premise was good. It was worth a go. The rubes are the guys who think it would be just great and totally fair if the devs destroyed all the other players stuff so they can hand over their cash to play on a nice clean server. (Not realizing that once they pay, they'll be in the exact same spot themselves, and they'll become the "dirty" ones who need to be wiped out for someone else) I gave up on the hat. Cut my hair, dyed it navy blue and selected long dreadlocks. Those have been fun, but they didn't get very long, and the game decided I needed a tan to wear them, so it did that too. What I really want is a hairstyle called "combs hair with mixmaster".

I have a weird itch on my brain, because when I was watching the video, I paused and rewind at the end of every sentence, multiple times, and I think of all the things I want to say about all the vagueness, about how these guys just don't want to be here, and I think about all the things I know about their history. They are hiding the uncomfortable truth that they don't have an actual plan. They just kinda want that xbox money it seems. Unfortunately, lots of what appears to be bile is quite accurate. I just hope that the devs can watch the stream again, rewinding at every sentence, reading the chat, analysing everything, while knowing that people who bother to type anything at all about ATLAS most likely do so because they enjoy what-is-the-start-of-what-could-be-a-game, want it to be even better and wish for it to succeed. - the video was titled roadmap - we need a roadmap because parts of the game are broken - the devs say they are busy working on xbox - xbox release comes before the roadmap - there is no details for a roadmap until after xbox - they've obviously been busy on xbox for months now - to go around in circles, we are at a 'crossroads' and therefore need a roadmap - all we have is xbox version which might mean more players, yes that's kinda exciting, in a short term stupid non nonsensical near sighted way, yay it was so exciting to see Jesse commenting on that in that reddit thread We had all of this talk about "a plan" to end the vagueness before the last wipe occurred. What has happened since? Superficial posts about mega updates that is actually just cats and err i cant remember now. I really hope our new lead designer has the best of luck. Please dont nerf stuff. For example - you say this is a gear based game, and you want to turn it into a skill based game. Why not have both? Why not a gear based game where skill is also involved, so that it is also a skill based game, yet also an incredibly deep gear based game, so deep to the point that people who have the best stuff make those who just started not want to play.

I would compare this more to No Man's Sky which managed to recover mostly by admitting what is wrong, facing the criticism and being honest. For a small indie dev with a small playerbase honesty goes a long way (of course it took them a while, to be honest. But hey - we all make mistakes). I have a weird itch on my brain, that all this vagueness of their stream is hiding some sort of uncomfortable truth about their actual plans. All I know is that if they plan to carry on like this they can just trash the entire dev-stream idea as they will just continue separating themselves from their playerbase.
  16. 1 point
That is exactly why I did not even bother! I did not watch the stream but was discussing it with a friend who did. As soon as he mentioned PVP, I knew this game's recovery will be a lot more unstable. Everyone (PVPers) know that balancing PVP is nearly impossible. I know we should not compare WoW to Atlas but look at how long it took WoW to get to where they are right now. Most can still argue that PVP is even broken now. I can tell you that melee combat with locking mechanic is absolutely useless in my opinion. Anyways, if this continues, I will be looking for a different game to play...

Ok lets try to keep this thread simple with direct answers to the devs about what we liked or didn't like about the stream and how it could be improved in the next stream in one month. Please don't start discussions about others answers and instead give your own answer directly to the devs or questions that did arise with the stream. So first thank you devs for letting us in on your plans and taking on the huge task of redesigning the game so we can have more fun while playing it. It was quit informative but also left a lot of points in the fog that need to be cleared in the next streams, or dev blogs as uncertainty isn't a good thing. So the biggest question for the community is about the Wipe. If you haven't decided when you will have a wipe please try to share Infos with us when you will not wipe. For example: We can tell you only there will be no wipe and release of a new map until the next live stream in one month and we will update you then if this has changed. A big point of concern is the pie chart of what you plan the game to become. I think you are completely right with that direction but since its a bit foggy what your ideas for the different parts are i will just name a few things you might want to clarify in later streams or dev blogs. The combat part makes up 25%, that is massive even surpassing those of most deathmatch games with no content besides fighting. So the concern here is please don't force combat on players that they don't want. Neither by throwing creatures or pvp at them or having quests like kill 100 monsters mandatory. Don't replace grinding mats of stationary object with grinding mats of moving objects Maybe your idea goes more into the direction of making combat more fun and rewarding so people choose to do it on their own? That would be the interesting part to share with us. The exploration part is tiny. I don't know but everyone i speak to wants more exploration and always new things to discover. Maybe you could shift a bit combat part to exploration instead and having more quests like finding an object or treasure in the world rather than kill x creatures? Maybe the combat and ship parts does include exploration and not just labour like transporting or farming stuff? You might want to point that out if it's the case. Another question you might want to share if you can, what are your artists and animators doing while no new content and only bug fixes is on the plate? Does your team have the luxury of switching ark engine devs with artists for this phase or do you simply not have distinct developers and all are more jack of all trades? No new content You might want to give us some insight on this, i guess you mean no new content like a new creature? But still adding new content like enemy ships and stuff you need to improve for the Phases like ships and gameplay? What happens to almost finished stuff like pirate encampments or the cat, will those be hold back for a while or are they still coming, wasn't really clear if the new plan makes the already announced other plans obsolete. And finally questions about the steps of the Roadmap. I can tell the roadmap spans a long time period and a lot of stuff especially content gets postponed beyond it. Will you or do you consider to expand the EA phase of Atlas beyond the planned release in about 18 months? Also does it mean new content is only postponed rather than cancelled? Technical The first phase actually is never ending in game development so i guess you meant more to implement a brief technical redesign to improve the game in general during this phase rather than create a final balance and fix all bugs? Another question about the technical part, are we talking about polishing or streamlining? As streamlining usually means a game that runs better but plays worse by limiting features and quality. Maybe you can share this, is xbox support an integral part of atlas or an addition, meaning will xbox or console compatibility limit the performance and options on the pc like it does with many other cross platform engines? Ships When you say new ships is the core of the game and the most complicated part shouldn't you have developers to work on it right now? Just so it doesn't fall of the plate when you try to fit it in later in the development when additions are more complex and conflict more with balance and systems? Kind of like build the game around the ships as its core feature? Maybe it gets more clear when you can share more Infos on Phase 1. World redesign Same as with ships, wouldn't any balancing changes now be futile when you implement a new map that plays completely different later? Are you planning instanced content dynamically adapting to player numbers and strength and/or level based zones? Finally i have seen what you achieved and are confident you will do everything you planned in the right way, these are just some question you might want to clarify to give players a better insight of what is happening with the game and allow them to plan ahead better. And now what i really like about the new plan and live stream. You shared Infos that show us the future direction of the game which is awesome and give us some insight of your work Also you showed us you consider all ideas from the forums even complete redesigns which opens a lot of potential for the game. The focus on ships and ship content is exactly the right way to go to make Atlas stand out. Also the idea to achieve it by adding content rather than removing stuff, i wish more developers would do it this way. Also sticking to the mmo idea and making Atlas a game of it's own kind, your dedication to the game is impressive I am very happy that you consider to implement a living world and events, with the server structure the game uses we could be having different and dynamically changing experiences on every server and generate something really unique that no game has achieved yet. We also have to see that Atlas has not only the potential to be a good mmo, it has possibilities that other mmos do not have and can become a really awesome experience like never seen before. So far i experienced everything you did had high quality and a lot of thought to it, going that way for the missing parts and the missing gameplay Atlas would become an awesome game i would gladly buy many addons later and stick with for a long time. Also it might be subjective but you all seem more relaxed now, it's good to be able to sail a calm sea for a while after going through rough waters. Dont let the sea throw you around just keep sailing and arrrrrive finally at the place you dreamed of

Well that stream was the perfect example of marketing - by touching every subject but not giving any solution, so that the customer dreams up the solution that he thinks they will do, thereby making it the best game to literally 'dream' of for each individual and therefore sticks to the game... in the end they have plausible deniability "never said that"... The whole show was about how to sell us - that is the current PC players and the coming in XBOX players - that XBOX is the All Mighty Dollar and that is why we delay everything... For the PC it means nothing changes until months after XBOX release... For the XBOX it means they can enjoy the same problems the PC had, that made 95% and counting of the player base leave... If you get past this point in the stream about the XBOX then you find out the real problem they have - no clue... Yes they touched on every subject we are screaming for many months now - so I guess at least someone sometimes reads what we say... They acknowledge all the problems yes. But they don't say anything how they want to fix it. They just give a list of all solutions we gave them over time. Maybe change to claiming, maybe factions, maybe NPC factions, maybe relations... so Realist can continue his dream and we players continue our hope for something complete different, keeping us both in the market - mission accomplished...' Same with offline protection, they think about this that and the other thing... Same with PVP. 'Yeah it is broken' 'Yeah, all what you players say is true'... But in the end they gave nothing about what they want to do... BECAUSE THEY STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO... Hell the main problem of the game - PVP balancing is at the END of their new road map... They put the easy stuff first - QoL... so they don't have to touch the real subjects and can do their homework as late as possible... How should changes to ships so that you do not loose them so fast, when loosing them is a PVP problem that gets changed last...? Hell the main reason you loose your stuff - and they want to make it so you don#t loose your stuff so often - is that the broken PVP takes your stuff... You don't need any changes to the claim system, or factions or banks or PVE zones... just balance the PVP so the defender can actually defend his stuff even when offline at least against a solo cannon bear and that will already save a lot of stuff, bases and ships... but NO, PVP is the last problem to solve... lets try to dance around the problem and change the other stuff around it... This game will be MOAB with broken PVP by that rate... Everyone will hide in a PVE zone/faction/claim and if someone comes out to PVP it will be agreed - "lets meet and battle it out with the stuff we can afford to loose"... Hell, if the player count goes up again, the big guys will hog in PVE and push the small guys into PVP therefore making them the only targets to PVP... And then the side notes so to speak... like ship sailing... They acknowledge that is sometime boring and the boring part takes too long. They did not say anything what they want to do, might be faster ships, might be more stuff happening between A to B. The only thing for sure is if they go the speed route while the PVP is not balanced the people now crying about more speed will not only have their neighboring sector pirates raiding them, but the whole server will be at their door step knocking with cannon balls. Distance is safety, reduce the time to travel the distance, reduce that safety... nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, you get wiped of the server even faster. And obviously, if the ships go faster how should ship PVP work? How do you intercept someone if he changes multiple grids in the time it takes you to get from rendering range to cannon range? Hell the current Meta is if you get ganged on the sea turn into the wind to the next Freeport... if that not takes 10-30min but merely 3-5min how much MORE ship PVP will happen on the sea? Performance was also mentioned... Well duh, this is an early ARK engine, of which the current ARK engine their Devs say it should be redone completely... But their is an easy fix for the performance problems, especially in PVP: FIX PVP !!! so that the defender not need to build this giant structures that still give no protection... BTW that would also come along nicely with your time pie chart with the 50% time spent on land farming and building the performance killing structures... If you not need 50,000 structure to maybe be somewhat save from the lone cannon bear wiping all your stuff, you could get in your boat and play the rest of the game... Obviously they could also make bigger bigger structure parts so that you can build the same things with less parts... until then we continue build large stone walls not with one large stone wall, but with 120+++ normal walls so we get those million HP and not only 24K... Actually the only positive thing said in the stream was from the new guy... That the game play is too heavy on gear quality and low on player skills... That comes from the time when they already did not have a clue and started to listen to the NO SKILL streamers and zergs... But then again that would mean TO FIX PVP !!!

I have to say I am glad to hear that no new content will come to the game even well after the release of Xbox. It will take Xbox players awhile to get used to the content that is already here so there will be no reason to add any new content until atleast 3 months after the Xbox launch. i also love that they will be sledding up sailing. I was really wanting that. I don’t want to spend that much time on the boat so increasing sailing speed will be awesome. factions. I love that idea. Can’t wait till there is no more company vs company. FOR THE HORDE!!!!

I liked what I heard on the live stream. A lot. They touched on many things, but, were pretty light on details. Intentionally so I imagine. Specific items that stood out to me were the following. -A focus on turning Atlas into a "Pirate Simulator." More sea game play and less land game play. - Players be able to log in after a while and be able to jump in to the game without worrying about losing progress. Seemed to mean off-lining is somehow going to be addressed/eliminated. - Focus on XBox/Crossplay in recent past and into the future until it is implemented. PC put on the back burner until then. - No new content for a while even after XBox release as focus will be on bug squashing and QOL improvements (Phase 1). - Sailing speed from point A to point B and associated time frames are to be addressed. They are aware it can be laborious task and not very fun. - I distinctly remember them saying Atlas is currently a gear based game and they would like it instead to be a skill based game. Equal up the playing field. - Redo the skill tree to make it more impactful at an individual level. I truly hope they take a good long look at Star Wars Galaxies (Pre-Combat Upgrade) and give us more than one character to develop. Skill based -hit a stone to get better at hitting stones. Shoot a pistol to get better at shooting pistols. - Factions are to be experimented with. Alternate world layouts PvPvE servers are being considered. - Islands and claiming to be taken another look at to see what is working and what isn't. - Tames will not be the priority of Atlas as they are now. - XBOBS .... lol At the very least they seem to have selected a direction to take the game. Atlas is to be a "Pirate Simulator" first and foremost. Not sure "exactly" what that means, but, it is something. I really don't care about this fantasy/pirate thing people seem to have. As per usual so much is to be determined and time will tell. As I have said on multiple occasions .... Atlas is in "Early Access". Things will change. Wipes will happen. For whatever reason the EA stamp means very little to so many people. It pretty much means everything to me and as a result they get a level of courtesy and patience that a "released" game most certainly does not. Interesting tid bits .... Studio has spent most of their time working on the ocean/ship mechanics. Eric said he has a background in PvP skills and balance. Road maps and pie charts ... heh, what a concept. Based on how the wipe went last time, I wouldn't say anything close to the word wipe. Maybe a days notice and then implemented ... surprise!

yeah sadly in a world of masqueraded lies and lying by omission silence is our strongest evidence, i like my coffe back and my evidence assertive but i also like spicy tacos accompanied with a glass of milk so i am willing to make an exception here

for sure they are trying to get out this fall to get those XBOX XMAS dollars. Just like they announced last year right before XMAS so they could cash in on presents.

You are curios about how big you can build at one Spot Check creative Thread the Show And Tell, there is our cathedral Which has structure Limit so you might get an idea but its a certain Radius where you can Place 15750 structures After that you Need to Place the next Big thing like 20 foundation length away.

Nor mine. I like a great of what he said and especially how he chose to say it. I wouldn’t reduce the map and agree something dynamic is preferable. No idea what. One thing I really like about Decado is that he is clearly using his imagination to look for solutions, but unlike many of us who have been here all along debating with each other, his mindset and thinking haven’t stagnated. I sometimes feel like I have read and discussed these things so much this year that I have a hard time coming up with many new or original thoughts on Atlas at a moment the game is clearly at a crossroads and needs fresh ideas. Nobody bats 1.000 but I feel he’s bringing a much needed fresh perspective.

The only safe bet is that if they can possibly get it released to Xbox by the holiday season they will. The overriding factor is that with any retail consumer product, especially anything you might give a kid for Xmas, Q4 is imperative because it dominates revenue while Q1 is shit.

I just have to say for a second that I am glad to see the two people that hate me arguing with each other. This is a breath of fresh air to me.

Anybody wanna post a summary of what the livestream told us? I am too busy with work, by which I mean lazy, to watch it.

If they did a bigger stream ya'll would have complained that "their ideas suck! Will ruin the game" Ya'll got what you wanted: Confirmation about more ships, offline defense, less tames, factions, crossplay, QOL, optimization. Literally all of the complaints about this game were addressed and you're still crying about it. It might just be you don't like the game, dude.

if not the grinder exactly, but something that works similarly, or simply a way to recycle items

I can assure you I very much bought the game because of the water aspect. I just didn't expect the water to be such a good part of the game as visually in the trailers or various Youtube vids the waves never looked that good, and having experienced the water in ARK, it was good but left a lot to be desired. The look and the feel of the water was considerably better than i thought it would be going in - hence my expecting to refund it and initially going in only planning to trial it. There's absolutely nothing deceptive about this other than your interpretation.

you guys need to get it out of your head that players want player management system. As a gamer, I would love to game not spend 60% of my time managing how my character lives healthy. I do enough of that in real life. What vitamin he needs to eat and What vitamin he doesn't need to eat. when you talk to 90% of the player base they just killed themselves to get around the mechanic what a great game mechanic you put in your game let's move on to the second topic who wants to reload a shity game reloading reloading game for your gun. I want to push the button to reload it I don't want to play a secondary game or if I don't press it at a certain time WTF lol. I can't think of off the top of my head of any successful major game that has a reloading mini game function in their game. It's the little things in quality of life when you're playing the game that just makes it unplayable A new game designers but still old broken game mechanics

I'm gonna float this at you; and I really want you to consider it. Maybe they don't know either? Its a small team working on what is among one of the most ambitious games to date. Most of the team are not professionals, but modders from the Ark community. Seriously cut them a lil slack.
