Below are some overall suggestions that could be added to the game to make it more interactive and fun. Freeports should have more NPC interactions such as taverns and stores for accessories. Also no decay time should be issued but instead gold should be paid to anchor a ship and that way people can't hide in pvp at free port and attack and then just leave and repair and come back. Mini games should be incorporated as well. We should be able to craft card table and dice to play on the long journey with no wind with our crews and allies. there should also be npc on lawless islands that can be captured for bounties and turned into freeports for gold and other items. The ship of the damn should actually be galleons with crews that can be boarded and attacked. The ships themselves could have the chest with all the loot and we would have to fight on the decks of the ship hand to hand if we decided to board, LIKE REAL PIRATES. NPC OR CREWMEMBERS I have noticed when playing the npc when following literally go everywhere and are difficult and frustrating to control. There follow system should be coded basically to follow the exact path of the leader. Building structures such as stone large walls should have more base hp. I understand the masterwork lengendary and mythical wall do but 24000 for a common wall is literally a volley from a galleon. My belief would be that common would have atleast 150000 or equivalent to a small ship yard worth of hp and it goes up from there. HP of builds should all be equal, the only difference should be the durability of the structures such as planks and walls should increase based on quality. Crewmembers should be able to auto pilot boats without having to be on the boat. So basically you literally assign the crew member and tell him the direction and he travels in that direction only and never turns. So players who are traveling long distances can actually fast travel off the boat to do resource gathering etc and the boat continues on the path. This is risky but is the choice of the player keep jumping back and forth from the ship to redirect the auto pilot. When wiping an island and claiming it, everything in the islands circle including that in ocean should be deleted all the way to the ocean floor. I recently wiped and island and there were still wall and sturctures built in the bays of the island that didn;t get wiped and they had their original timers.

So we got a 60 gally yesterday and it dropped a legendary 154 durability medium plank and journeyman something from a 19.1 quality box..... This is pretty much what we would have gotten pre-wipe. Can we please have a statement if the loot has actually been improved from gally's or not because its not looking like anything has changed. This was killed in D12 in the afternoon PST time. PS. this was VERY disappointing.

I recently started playing this game together with my wife, and so far it has been really fun. But there are a few things that could be changed for the better especially when it comes to single player and coop. These suggestions are mostly tied to exploration and progression: - Treasure maps: Exploration can be quite rewarding in games, but if you find what you are looking for all the time, it stops being exciting. There are just too many bottles at the beaches, and you get tired of finding them 5 minutes after you start playing the game. It quickly becomes a farming issue instead of exploration. The second issue is that the event is always army of the damned. Adding some more events could be beneficial. Like underwater treasure guarded by an alpha shark or something. All in all, give us far less bottles (and maybe increase the loot from each one), and vary them up a bit. Hunting treasure is fun after all, or should be at least. - The sea should be more dynamic: Sailing in this game is really fun tbh. But the encounters could need some diversity. Currently in coop and single player, you only see ships of the damned (who only spawn in armadas btw), and storms always spawn on top of you. Every zone contains a lot of ships of the damned, so you are sure to encounter them all the time, and since water spouts always spawn on you, you are sure encounter them a lot too. This ties to what I said in the treasure map section: If something happens all the time, it stops being exciting. In this case it becomes more of a nuisance. So I suggest you add more variety here too. Add some trade ships with lots of good trade resources sailing around. If a player attacks them, his ship gets a debuff that will aggro Navy ships sailing around. Also add some pirates that will aggro players and navy ships alike (I know you are adding pirates with the pirate encampment patch, which is great!). When it comes to storms let them be more random so you can see them in the distance, or at least see the spouts in the distance and make them more dangerous. This will add drama and tension. Adding more types of storms like lightning storms and maybe a rare Tsunami could also spice things up a bit. I don't think these suggestions would cost too many hours in programming time, and they wouldn't really require too many new assets.

Replace those (let's be honnest) ugly fantasy ships with real pirate ships. Just some ships pre disigned by your artist modellors. Look at the pre disigned structures and stuff. They are al so stunningly beatifull, I bet they could create some unimagible nice ships. You could use historicly known pirates, ships and flags. Just imagine comming across the Queen Anne's Revenge + acurate flag. Same thing for those famous chinese ships and their pirates.

Good Morning, Hopefully this is the right place to post it, in de Bug report system i dont find the right section. After the Last Balance of the Golden Age Ruins with the Rebalance of the respawns, they are nearly no more SotDs there. They Take a redeciolus large amount of time to respawn and in the wohle grid are at the same time at max only 2 fleets with 6 Ships. We scanned yesterday with 6 Ships for Like 4 hours the Grid and checked our Expirence with other companys and the answers wehre all the same. I would be nice if you could rework the current situation. ATM the Golden Age is the easiest Grid, even in free Port you got more Damage from decay then in Golden Age from Enemys. @Dollie@Jatheish best regards Efariam

So I sailed though a border yesterday to be greeted by a galleon SotD one schooner length away (this REALLY needs to not happen, its not fun - somehow can we see 10% into the next server perhaps) and it turns and manages to fire on me while im perhaps half a galleon length away and all our tames and a spare crew member immediately go overboard to attack it. The hits happened in the left rear 20% of the boat and could only have "splashed" far enough forward to hit one of the bears. Two clear bugs happened. 1) The crew member was on passive and below decks 2) Three monkeys were below decks attack behavior unknown. There were two bears and a tiger above decks that also went overboard that I personally don't think should ever actually agro by or to a SotD but they didn't have to go through a wall to get off the boat.

Not only are Ships of the Damned going invisible, and the ships steering being lost, but undamaged walls and foundations are going invisible. We had an interior wall disappear inexplicably. And right now a foundation has gone invisible. It must still be there because the walls attached to it still exist, but the foundation itself has done a Klingon cloaking stunt. Altogether, the above bugs are gamebreaking. This is serious stuff guys - waaay more important than claim flag dynamics, and far more fundamental.

With the drop of the latest patch, v. 23+, we are encountering invisible SotD. Sometimes you can see the cannons floating above the water. Sometimes not. We also lose ship controls randomly, but often with the opening of personal inventory or the map. You cannot steer the ship and you cannot control the direction of the sails, although you can still raise or lower them. In other words, steering is impossible. All that is left is "stop" by lowering the sails and "go" by raising them.

Can we please have taxation on treasures and SOTD drops removed ? Tax the land, not the treasures / SOTDs. I understand you claimed a whole island and you are protecting your resources or what not, I don't mind that, tax it 30% all you want (as long as there are lawless this shouldn't bother anybody), but for crying out loud, remove taxation from treasures and SOTD drops.. I really REALLY don't want to travel half the map and risk life and limb to end up on a spot where my treasure is by chance on a 30% taxation or I kill a SOTD on a sea of flag spamming the ocean. Hope the new flag system will also take this into account as it's pretty frustrating.

Since the last major patch, SotD have become more of a menace than ever! They spawn in batches like the ones that surrounded us last night. You see 8 ships surrounding us, with the hellish glow of a ninth at the far right. What you don't see are the other 6 ships which were arrayed around the front of us. There was NO reason for this; it was NOT a Golden Age Ruin which was nightmare enough when first unleashed. THIS is WORSE by far. And it is NOT an isolated incident. We're getting this with every border crossing and even travelling within our own tile. Has anyone else noticed the proliferation of SotD spawns, or are we just a SotD magnet?

So ive been hunting these pests around the oceans now for a few days. Other than the crew they are useless to hunt. its way more expensive to repair the ship contra the costs of killing them. Will this get looked at? With the new update there are now tons of SOTD that noone wants to kill. so kiting 5+ for a while is not rare... Make it worth for me to take them out please! BR

Blanket Suggestions to help fix your game....
Bolognapwny posted a topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Flame Arrows - Couple of different things you can do here - 1. Change damage type from % to Set amount. 2. Add a longer reload to fire arrows, not make bow durability go down.... 3. Make a mini-game for the person hit with a fire arrow... if they complete it they remove the fire arrow and take minimal damage. FOY - This is more a suggestion on how to more randomize the time that people will all go at once... Turn off the age counter when you're not in game... if you only do age by time played I think you'll get use for this mechanic... it might make you take a long time to hit 90.... SOTD - These just make no sense to me... We're playing a self-proclaimed pirate MMO and it doesn't feel Piratey at all.... SOTD would be way better suited if they were Colonial ships of some kind... that obviously attack pirates on sight.... Maybe make a new whatever you want colonial NPC faction that controls free ports and protects the seas.... lawless zones could have the current setup that the freeports have.- 1 reply

Iam still building a new Brigantine at now and iam still thinking about ist best usecase. I allready own a well shaped exploration ship, so i thought about a battleship. 2 x 6 gunports + 3 large sails = 15 npc crewmembers. Their upkeep will be very expensive and this leads me to my real question: Is the loot quality of the Ship of the Damned realy sufficient? I dont believe so... The crew upkeep is high, the materials needed for the repair and ammo must be farmed and at the end there is alway the risk to lose the entire ship. As long as the loot does not exceed 100 gold, hunting is not worth it. Until then, it makes more sense to avoid the ships and go simply tresure hunting. But with this realization, you quickly realize that you no longer need an expensive fighting ship. This somehow seriously jeopardizes the entire PVE concept.

I'm just trowing my overall feeling about the game as a solo player before quiting for a while. Its my way to help an Early Acess game that I liked dispite anything. First of all I'm a solo player in a MMORPG and maybe I should have not bought the game in the first place. I loved the land experience in this game. I feel that it evolved alot from Ark and converted well from a Sci-FI dinossaur game to a Pirate/sailing game despite the "jousting" combat agains wild life and the slow atacks used to balance it that feels a bit cluncky. So far so good until I decided to play the "real" game here and build my first, my second and my third ship... While I respect and understand the need to add danger in the seas with NPC ghost ships they're too much and too strong for a solo first-time sailor. All my 3 sloops never passed lvl 4 or managed to return to the shores that they were built and here are the reasons that they sunk and made me quit for a while: - The not so random Movment from SoTD while they arent aggro yet. Its an old inherithed habit from ark where parassaurs always runs from danger in your direction(bringing predators to you) the bronto that keeps walking over the iron node so you can accidentaly hit it or the predators that always choose the prey that will bring it closer to where you are. SotD randomly gets closer and closer to you or in your way even when they're not aggro so those aggron range tunnings are not that effective. - The Transition traps is also pretty bad. When you change maps the wind usually change a bit wich normaly makes you slower. The process itself is a bit slow for obvious reason and adding to that is very common to find a good amount of SoTD waiting for you in the other side. With the issues said above reaction may be late. - Ok you can be faster on your sloop than a ghost ship but its a bit useless when they spawn surrounding your ship and just keeps the same speed with moderate turning radius against the wind. - Travelling to a cold area and tis high probability of death. So you're ok in your region vitamin buffed and using your hide armor and fully invested in fortitude and you transfer in your sloop to the side area and its cold area, for some odd reason your buff is gone you start to die freeezing and the time the game took transfering your ship to a new server granted the SoTD that was waiting for you a cannon ball hit that will break your bed. I keep seeing people saying that they can handle SoTD just well that they use some miraculous setup in their ships so they outruns and out manuever the SoTD in their sloops.Thats why I kept insisting on this. For me, nothing of that worked. I may be too bad at this game but also I had no chance to learn. Never had a chance to finish a voyage and come back home no relevant experience adquired. Even on 2,5x rates is a bit annoying to grind all mats to keep building ships and get it sunk in few minutes. The end result could be different if i was playing in a group even if it was small but thats not my case and i expected to have a chance to get started in solo mode. My suggestions: Keep those SoTD to some given harder map square only so players can avoid . Another option would be not making it random spawn in every map but some sort of event fleet that keeps traveling from square to square with a server announcment when it arrives and leaves a given square. Thats all, keep evolving as the game already gave large steps in just few days. Its clear the effor to make this game better and great. But right now the SoTD just killed it for me. See you again when those ships are handled.
