Same here we are on PvE and just logged in to find half my tames dead and about 5 storage chest and a loom destroyed by a lvl 250 alpha wolf, the base is secure and has multiple buildings with an outer foundation wall on each building to stop wild animals from biting through the single walls. 2 sloops also lost. Please devs do something about this every other day I log on to find everyone's ships have been sunk along the coast it sucks

The gold consumption isn't really a problem, you can get more than enough to pay for a few crew with some low grade treasure. The problem is they find ways to get themselves killed. I logged in one day to see that a Sloop had been sunk and the crew killed by a wolf.

Captain's Log 15: Treat me like a Pathfinder and Gimme dat Patch!
Shuro replied to INVALID's topic in Announcements
The upcoming changes are really godsend, thank you very much Grapeshot-Team! I just really hope that you will do something about the current Alpha-Situation. Alphas & way to much Animals swarm the isles right now...and Alphas especially are a pain in the ass. You can defend against 1-3 Lions and Wolves, but one Alpha-Wolf? You do know damage to them and the wolves with their lvl 200+ just oneshots you. That is just anti-fun, especially if it feels like Armor (complete 20-armor-set) doesn't do anything at all against the animals. -
The entire hostile wildlife is crap! Croks are flying out of the water, the giant snake hitbox is to smal, wolf, tiger and lion are incredible fast, so you miss them at most times and the entire spawn system is bullshit. pets spawn in oure house and nearby players.

Either fix tigers and snakes or remove them from the game
moriak replied to Scarth's topic in Bug Reports
Oh no, they can turn inside. I can get the wolf out no problem through the door in picture. It was also moving back and forth inside during taming (when it broke out of bola and I had to bola it again). They just can't fit through the normal door on the opposite side so you can keep those open and run in/out as needed. The door in the picture is the roof door which you use to run in (animal follows) and then you close it behind them after you run out of the trap through the normal door. Gotta be quick before they turn and run out. -
you should be happy, bow+arrows and you get a few lvls out of it easy. My group of 10 had to deal with constant alpha wolf spawns next to our base. Once we got high lvl enough to use they are taken care off fast but damn..those things are crazy fast and a 1 bite kill. I'll take snakes any day..slow moving.

Okay let's talk about "Bouncing" mechanic
justinlee replied to Detestar's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
wolf should have a bleed skill and not a knock back they would not do that in real life or any other game i think the dev team needs to work on all of there animals and not just use copy of ark with diffrent look but the same name as something from work this is sposed be stand alone game not ark 2.0 -
After traveling for days finally managed to find claimable land, got a small spot in tundra, unfortunately the place is a pain in the ass and not due to the harsh weather, wolfs keep spawning one after another like stupid SoD do in sea, if you go out to get resources you keep dying and getting you fur armor destroyed in no time which then you can't repair unless you travel to other servers since you can't get sap in tundra. Finally managed to build a base but now it seems impossible to maintain, the stupid wolfs keep aggroing, I spend more time shooting them in the face with my pistol crafting more ammo and repairing the damn pistol than actually playing, good lord fix them... I was in desert and it seems stupidly overcrowded too, crocodiles lions wolfs LOL, this is game is even more annoying than ark...at least dinos there don't camp your base they wander much more. I have seen a crocodile camp a raft for hours while i was building my sloop, ridiculous. They also do too much damage and nockback has no sense at all. I have already dug up several treasures and was easier to fight 6 soldiers of the damned than a single wolf...

Wolfs are an absolute nightmare in tundra...
Mr.Sentinazo replied to Mr.Sentinazo's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely agree, also wolfs destroy a pristine armor in around 10 bites, a joke. I feel the same, everytime I manage to improve a bit building something or crafting a new weapon and I actually enjoy the game fun is completely destroyed by a wolf pack. -
Okay let's talk about "Bouncing" mechanic
Dizzviz replied to Detestar's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
knockback, as its called, is an important part of most games with combat. the game does have a melee dodge mechanic that works wonders. a headshot to a wolf with a pistol is normally enough to kill it and if not use your other pistol, or a rifle, or a blunderbuss. what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't really be engaging in melee if you can't dodge so get good scrub. that being said the arc of the knockback could be adjusted slightly to help prevent getting launched -
A fucking wolf broke into our Tundra house SOMEHOW and killed all of us overnight, destroyed our loom (THAT HAD 2 THOUSAND FUCKING PASTE IN IT) and I lost my Carbine (AGAIN, two of them disappeared into our Cabinets, I know because they say 45/45 and there's an empty slot where my carbine would be) and 4 flintlocks, Fur Armor. This is fucking ridiculous, Wolves are out of control, snakes are out of control, lions are out of control. Taming is near impossible as 1 person because they animals are so freakishly fucking fast even at 1 hp. This is fucking ludicrous, I'm trying to like this game but every time I turn around the Dev shows their incompetence.

So my company finally found us an island, stole it from an inactive clan...this is snakes, lions, wolves and crocs are on it. We can handle the snakes, crocs, and what not, what kicks our tail are the lions and wolves, so many...and respawn hella fast. 4 hits from a wolf and we dead...lions...well lions are easy to kill, it's just they can jump like 40 feet, and jump up and grab you from 30 feet from the ground....3 walls up from ground...there jumping is insane...have you ever watched them jump halfway across the map ever....wow.

The insidious slow spread of creeping gratification....
Tentarro replied to archaegeo's topic in General Discussion
If you could convey that to resident dumbass Archaeago that'd be a better use of time he's the same dude that thinks having a wolf somehow enter your base with no holes and everyone dying is somehow our fault for doing "something wrong" -
While I 100% agree with you the predators in this game are stupidly broken, but taking them out completely? I'm opposed to that. They just need to put some time in stopping them from ignoring walls/barriers/the sides of ships. And maybe having the game check and see what the current population is before spawning more would be nice, and have them all stop being friends. The croc/snake/wolf/bee combo hunting packs are absurd on so many levels.

The insidious slow spread of creeping gratification....
Nightstrasza replied to archaegeo's topic in General Discussion
Well, they try to balance the game... however they balance things that not many ask for or none at all and things that are asked frequently don't get touched as SoD camping server borders, SoD in huge numbers in small area making them nothing special of an encounter but just a huge annoynace to anyone who wants to pass without having to make a circle arround entire grid, alphas being able to shred someones base for free if they can't defend self, some predators just being radiculously powerful compared to others (fight a snake and then fight a wolf, snakes are a joke compared to wolves), claim flag spam, mega tribes, ships being too squishy etc. -
Should I Respec out of bows and into guns?
Nightstrasza replied to Poot Pootington's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, firearms are so slow to reload and have that mini-game thing... but they deal tons of burst damage so there is that. The blunderbuss... is that thing even good?, can it beat a 315 dmg to the wolf head?, bcs heard it doesn't register most of pellets when shooting even point blank. Also do those pistol reload speed perks also affect blunderbuss and musket or only pistols?, bcs if pistols..., when then we have nothing for the rest and why we need to take them to get diferent weapon. -
Ya when a level 1 wolf can kill my TWO level 40 Lions....there is a huge issue here
-
literally shoot wolf 3 times in the face, did not register but you could see arrows in his face...

My favorite part is the 9 o'clock snake murdering spree, where I kill 37 snakes so my tribemates, who aren't so quick with a bow, can actually continue gathering, after which I take my lunch break, and then start the 9:09 snake murdering spree, after which I crack my knucles for having my hands glued to the keyboard continuously for so long, only to continue with the 9:11 wolf, snake, and lion murdering spree. My daily schedule involves a lot of violence and self punishment that will inevitably lead to carpel tunnel. Edit: I almost forgot the 9:14 respawn, wherein a crocodile spawns directly on top of me, and I am forced to punch it's insides while floating around in it, to respawn so I can move again, and start my next shift.

Fire arrows are undeniably over powered compared to every other option currently in the game. Try digging up a treasure chest with each of the weapons and you'll find fire arrows are MUCH easier than literally every other option, whether it's in a group or solo. A low level recipe shouldn't be waaaaay more powerful than firearms which take significantly more skill points to unlock. (That's not to say that guns don't also need a buff, though! They do! Blunderbus = trash) And you're looking at alpha chickens all wrong... you gain exp for each shot you take at it. So next time, use a regular bow, put a hundred or more arrows into it, and start raking in the levels! (I wouldn't suggest this with something like an Alpha wolf though! Haha)
-
I use bow a lot and I agree 40 shots seems a little low till repair. However most giant snakes wolves and lions take about 3 to 5 arrows so doesn't seem so bad. I would definitely get a pistol makes survival alot easier , nothing like wipping out ur pistol and 1 shotting a wolf to the face. As for fire arrows they are a bit over powered I usually kill alphas with them in 1 to 3 shots just let them burn before reshooting them.

So im on a small island with other players. Its not going too bad other than scared to sail ships. Animal spawn rates on initial login are fairly high but were livable. NOT anymore!!!! Since the latest update a level 5 wolf can kill you in 3-4 hits on a level 30 char!! my good if you get more than you its insta death...why???? Why did you mess with Animal damage!! It was close to perfect and livable. Add this to ghost tships and you may as well just sit on your raft just off the coast and pray for something to save you. Add this to the fact im having to make a base on lawless land and make sure i log in regularly as most of the land is gone and i cant fucking sail anywhere as the stupid ass ghost ships get you every time. Please listen to the community 1)GHOST SHIP SPAWN LEVELS DONT COUNT WHEN THE SPAWN NEXT TO YOU WHEN TRANSITIONING TO A NEW SECTOR. 2)STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT Unlivable!!! 3)DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE SPAM LAND CLAIMS!!!!!!!!!
