  1. Has anyone else running private servers with custom maps had problems with the seamonster versions of the whales just not spawning at all? If so perhaps you know a fix?
  2. SO not im pretty sure this isnt right. but.,. just fought a Monstrous whale and the whale hit everything inside our galleon for 7k. damage.. i mean inside the ship.. like our resource box gone. all the large boxes inside gone.. on the lower deck! kinda just throwing it out there since im sure thats not how its gotta work. Im guessing same as ark issue wheere T-rex clipping through walls and damaging stuff inside the base
  3. How hard is actually to kill it with ship? not the island glitch way but proper way to fight it on sea?
  4. this. is. not. funny. We can't play even in PVE, please do something.
  5. Thats a bummer losing ships and tames etc. I sympathize with that frustration... Maybe i can help... I remember being sooo happy exploring w an awesome new decked out schooner.. I was heading up a coast-line taking in the scenery, figuring out resource locations, scouting potential bases etc., and learning about the game.. BAM!!-1200dmg, 1200dmg, 1200dmg, 1200dmg... My ship raggdolled and throttled then sank... I was befuddled. Zero time to react. Standing on shore staring at the wreckage wondering what happened? NOTHING was visibly near my ship.. Didn't want to swim out for a look because i thought it was some invisible-sea-monster-thing and i didn't have a nearby bed.. for 15 minutes shoreside w 2 NPCs "Is this the Kraken Ive heard about? A squid or the killer whale?"... then anger kicked in, i was SOOO PISSED. "WTF this a terrible game mechanic how can i fight or evade a DAMN MONSTER I CAN'T SEE??!!"...... Someone strolled upon me while i was contemplating rage quitting.. "Need help?" she asked. Smoke came out of my ears while i explained i was sank by an invisible sea monster.. "What?" she asked again I explained the invisible-monster encounter, again, and pointed out the debris in the water. "Oh, that sucks" she said.. .... "Wait here".. She got her Co member, swam out, investigated and concluded it was a bug, invisible friggen rock. Filed a bug report. I wound up joining them. Had a great time for a few months and learned ALOT... Point being this isn't the final product. Also they encourage a "focus" to get feedback. I am NOT saying in ANYWAY that your wrong. My only advice is YOU purchased it so play it the way YOU want. Tell them what sucks, whats fun and why. Take breaks as necessary, i am. GL
  6. I honestly feel like there's not enough sea monsters but there should be. Sure we have the giant crabs and the mermaids but that's really it, I honestly hope we get more variety in the sea life in the future. Something like a Charybdis inspired sea monster would be pretty cool or grotesque deep sea dwelling humanoids kind of like in that movie underwater would also be very cool. Maybe have ocean sea monster bosses similarly to the Hydras and Drakes on land and etc, instead of a power island maybe you could go deep down into the depths to fight your way through a sunken city type of place and end up encountering a powerful sea monster to basically act as a aquatic power island. Also maybe a giant species of sea monster that just randomly patrols the map attacking any boats it finds as a threat, maybe it Could be nocturnal appearing near the surface at night only to retreat into the depths during the day which would change the attitude towards what times you want to set sail and really add a interesting dynamic to sailing the oceans and it could function as this fearful and intimidating creature that's ruthless and powerful, basically a aquatic giga from ark in that it's extremely powerful but extremely rewarding to take down or possibly tame.

  10. Edit (May 18th): Due to an unexpected issue, we’ve made the difficult decision to delay tonight’s patch to next Wednesday, May 25th @ 7PM PDT. We want to ensure the start of the new season is as smooth as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Ahoy Pathfinders! The time has come for new adventures to begin again in the world of Atlas. While familiar, the seas have shifted and hold new mysteries and challenges for both new and old pathfinders alike. With the recent discovery of the Golden Age ruins, pathfinders will find themselves tested by new adversaries that will strike down the most experienced of pirates if not careful. Seven of these bosses now roam the lands waiting to unleash their might on any that dare to find them. Are you brave enough to take the challenge? There is also talk of an new unexplored region, shrouded in mystery, that may bring a new set of trials to pathfinders looking to unlock its secrets. Do not trust your senses in this eerie place for one false move may spell doom for you and your crew. The map itself has also undergone a few changes to make traversing the world a little easier. As always, with the new content, we are also continuing to fix many of the issues that have been reported by you, the community, and will continue to do so until we get it right. We want to say thank you to all the pathfinders that have provided feedback and suggestions and that continue to support us as we make gradual steps to make Atlas the best gameplay experience possible. With that said, the servers will go down May 18th at 7PM PDT and will undergo a few hours of maintenance. Barring any issues, we expect the servers to return and season nine to start around May 18th, 10PM PDT. We wish all the best luck in your new adventures and, of course, happy sailing! Released Patch Notes v543.0 Season 9 Patch Ahoy pathfinders! The tides of Atlas are shifting again. New exotic locales to explore and dangers to confront have emerged. New Content New Mini-Bosses of the Golden Age Ruins Seven new Mini-Bosses have been added. Each Golden Age Ruin island will now have its own boss to find and fight. Ancient Fire Elemental The first fire elemental ever to be created. An unknown, wicked deity possessed inflamed, volcanic rocks. It is rumored that all other fire elementals derive from this one. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in A7 Elder Rock Elemental A Giant Rock Elemental that has seen the tides of the Atlas shift many times. He has finally arisen from the sulfurous land to destroy pathfinders who trespass on his grounds. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in F4 Kekada A Deep Sea crab that invaded the surface long ago. Its docile nature was corrupted by the power stone contained on the island it is found on. Kekada now brutally crushes anything it can fit in its massive claws. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in L7 Buwaya A cursed Crocodile that is only told about in myths originating from the Philippines. Legend says, those who fall victim to this monster are taken to the world of the spirits. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in G8 Eber The Boar God. Even creatures have deities, and this one smells awful according to Pathfinders who have encountered it. They say it is a big, feral boar with rotting flesh and piercing eyes that roams the forest. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in L3 Crystal Scorpion Legend of a mysterious scorpion that appears only in darkness that is drawn to dark energies. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in M13 The Sentinel A cyclops creature tasked with protecting crystal entities. Corrupted by tainted crystals, this creature's appearance has taken on the visage of the very crystals he guards. Found in the Golden Age Ruin island in E1 Maw Waters A new region has been discovered! A brave, possibly foolish, Pathfinder followed the Ships of the Damned across the waters of Atlas. He returned with tales of a land shrouded in darkness and unnaturally thick fog, with creatures that seem to vanish or appear out of thin air, and eerie green fires. As proof of his findings he brought back a strange crystalline substance, soft to the touch yet somehow solid. His final notes state that any Pathfinder who ventures to these lands should not trust their eyes, as empty stretches of land may have hidden dangers. New Items Lantern of the Maw A special lantern that automatically appears on ships when they enter the Maw Waters region. Interact with the steering wheel to access the lanterns inventory, see current Essence value, and craft Solidified Essence. Fully fill your lantern to leave the Maw Waters region. How to gather Essence of the Maw and fill your Lantern There are several activities that will grant your lantern Essence of the Maw. With the exception of the Relic of the Maw all Essence is gathered on the ship the player enters on. Active Accumulation Destroy Ships of the Damned - Each ship destroyed will grant 10 Essence Destroy other players ships - Each ship destroyed will grant 25 Essence Obtain a Relic of the Maw - The Relic of the Maw is found in Flotsom and when consumed on a ship instantly fills that ship's lantern to full. Grants 100 Essence Passive Accumulation Travel 500 meters, either by sailing, swimming, or walking. Rewards 2-3 Essence. Survive in the Maw - For every 5 minutes spent inside the Maw Waters 3 Essence is rewarded. Essence of the Maw A viscous smoke that can be collected within a special lantern. This item is only acquired in the Maw Waters region, and can not be used outside of the Maw Waters. Solidified Essence A semi-soft semi-solid crystal that glows a dim blueish green hue. Relic of the Maw An ancient Golden Age Relic, found only in the Maw Waters. Using this Relic will instantly grant 100 Essence of the Maw. Reworked Map The World of Atlas has shifted again, new lands have emerged and the known world has been disfigured. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed. Maps all around the Atlas will need to be redrawn with these newly discovered regions. Bug Fixes Fixed instances where babies born in the tame house did not require imprinting. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed. 12. I wonder you all don't see the idea behind this ramming ship. I mean it has 18 prefab cannons in no gun ports = max weight + 2 large cannons in the rear. With two (speed)sails and maybe a weight of 8000/20000 this will be awesome fast. Maybe you can drive 6-8 knots and increase it for short time to 12 knots? Keep in mind you don't have amunition for your cannons on board and you don#t have repair resources. So what will I do? I will build a brig with 3 handling sails(~120% speed) and 5/5 cannons with total weight reduction to full combat ready 3500/15000 weight. Yes that ship has repairs and amunition on board for easy 30 minutes fighting. If you don't know how to do this you should try some things. If i have a good shipyard i could even spend some levels on weight. I even don't need to use barrels to blow that one appart. But let me guess the devs focussing on PvP drive themselfes only PvE monster ships with 20 points skilled on weight. The thing with early access is that you get kickstarter money from your alpha testers who buy this game. But the way you do this early acces should be that you pay your testers for their sufferings. I played 1400 hours in season 3 and it was a great game once. It was really funny and needed lots of teamplay. Just fix the so often mentioned bugs and server issues. Improve the quality of loot drops of SotD and treasure maps. Let the players find shipyards and handling sails. SoTD >lvl 30 shoult drop more than green blue prints... just give high level ships a lootdrop according to their level. And maybe you don't give us rolls of mystical 110% garbage... what you throw away when it's gray. Testing the farmhouses now they stop of no reasons, they run but don't collect things... the warehouse is one day filled with 13k of all ress and the next day only 1k? Why don't all my farms on an island connect to my warehouse and why other warehouses could connect my farms? Fix and balance this. I don't believe the trade routes will work as intended. New land bases screams next wipe. But i don#t care because I probably don't play anymore as i quit after the season 4 start passed 3 weeks. I should have a look if my Pathfinder is even dropped below level 80^^ I am testing a private server with mixed PvE and PvP grids on the full 11x11 map. Suiting me much better than the rediculos barrel bomb wipes on the full PvP which effects your health in real life after a while.Settings are farming and XP 3x which makes the game much less grindy but i still like to do the grind jobs. An^d wtf I found out that now doing Power Stones does not give you 40 Discovery Points anymore? So you need to step on all islands to increase your max level? Did you know this means about 10 minutes driving from one island to the next if you don't explore the island a little bit... your game is no fun playing with lvl 50.... a sweet spot is ~80. I maybe shouldn't test Kraken or Yeti Boss fight because I will cry when this gives you now rewards than just 1 more dance move.... I wonder you all don't see the idea behind this rmming ship. 13. I finally understood why there are fewer and fewer players in this game!!! This is just my personal advice. First of all, the idea of this game is very good, to explore and survive in the beautiful islands and the endless ocean. However, the numerous bugs that appear in the game will completely stop you. For the high-quality treasure, today my partner and I spent several hours sailing to the north side of the map N4 (NA PVE), when we activated the monster, the monster was blocked in deep underground, the treasure location cannot be excavated. (The excavation site should be in the same place as the monster activation, but we can't drill to the damn underground). Therefore, not only were we wasting a night, thousands of gold coins could not be obtained!

  15. Just wanna share my experience of this quest, playing PVE Official SOLO! I wouldn't say things were easy, but it definitely doable solo, with no cheating. Because I didn't do Kraken yet, I wanna talk about getting all 9 powerstones. Perparation. Alright, all you need is: - Any ship that can shoot backward. I personally done this by a schooner with 4 common cannons on stern. - A riffle. - Gliding suit. - Couple nuclear bombs for when you'll get killed 10 times in a row by stupid leatherwing or dump bogo-wogo tiger, while you run naked, and then you freak out and wanna blow this island to hell!!! I'm just kidding, but you should prepare yourself to a lot of butt igniting deaths. I dunno, make chamomile tea, or something : ))) (I met guys hunting hydra by Brig with 17 225% damage cannons on stern. Hydra couldn't reach the shore). Hydra killing tactics. The main idea is simple. You go (or fly on glider) to a shore. Spot hydra. Shoot from far to her head. Fly back to your ship. Sail away 4.5 - 5 knots. Shot hydra from stern cannons until it die. Please practice flying. Right now glider made the way, when you fly from the rock, or schooner deck, you can fly and even raise a altitude until your stamina is out. It's down-speed-up. Pretty easy. Notice that hydra wont follow you forever, so if she far from the shore, you'll need to fly and reload your riffle same time. And then stop, shoot again and continue flying. This one is tricky part. So things to do is: - To park your ship with nose to the ocean and stern to the shore. - Put all your stuff in box. All armor, weapon, tools, etc. Go naked with just glider suit to check if hydra out there. If not - back to your ship and sail to next spot. - When you spot hydra, go back to your ship, pick riffle, then go as far as possible on the way from boat to hydra, from where hydras heads are visible. Shot her head far from the distance, then don't wait - turn around, fly and do your riffle reload. This is most tricky part. After reload is done, land, shoot again, don't wait, fly. - If you on the ship, and hydra is near - you made it! Just sail away and enjoy you hydra killing. With common cannons there are 200 cannonballs needed for each hydra. Important TIP which would save me hell a lot of time. After you kill hydra, you loot her for 2000 mythos. And if you then gather all resources from her body (hit her with axe or pick until her body disappear) she will respawn immediately at the same spot! Hydra spots: Right now we have 6 islands with hydras: G7 - with hell a lots of aggressive lions, wolves, spiders and medusas. I couldn't move from the shore, so this one is not worth it. H7 - one of my successful island. Not many aggressive animals, but anyway, watch for cyclops and rock elementals. Northern spot is the easiest one. E7 - Most popular island because all spots are easy accessible. There is a problem tho. You most likely find not just a Hydra but also guys who farm mythos by killing her. Watch for cyclops. E6 - didn't go well for me. Tons of fire elementals and this far shore it hell bunch or wild and aggressive wolves, tigers etc. I for the first time here wish to blow them out, and even spent an hour to shoot all those bastards. Killed like 30-40 of them but amount of enemies didn't decrease. E5 - is fine I guess. I could walk there for some time. Didn't see a single hydra there tho. G5 - is one of the people favorite island as well. Didn't meet a single hydra there either. So basically it's F7-E7. One more tip. If you find a guys do their mythos farming, ask if they can give you keystones. They'll probably give you like 6 stones, or 9, or like 12... because they don't need them. This happen for me and save hell alot of time. Also if they don't wanna share - just stay in the area. Don't go in their way, just watch they killing hydra and keystone appears in your inventory. Also guys told that there is a way to RESET keystones timers. I didn't ask them how to do that, so any information about that will be usefull. Keystones: After you kill Hydra, you'll get your Keystone. - You can use one to any powerstone cave. So you can kill 9 hydras in just G5 and then sail to every powerstones caves. - It'll spoil in 2 hours (there is a way to reset timer but I don't know it yet). - If you die, keystone will stay with your corpse. You not pick it up, then it wasted. Powerstones: All powerstones are in the same caves and same spots the fountains of youth are. In order to do it safe I did the following. - Put all stuff (keystone also) in my boxes. - Run naked to cave entrance, check if it save to run there. Lure dangerous animals away if needed. - Enter the cave, run to the bridge and check if there are monters there. Sometime there are like 15-20 monster staying on the bridge. So I aggro them and jump down, to lure them all from the bridge. Sometimes it needs to be done couple times. - Then I pick keystone an run to the altar. After I pick power stone I try to jump of the bridge to lure all monsters from the bridge, so next player who go there, make his way safe. I really try to do my best to take care of other players. Unfortunatelly after you gather a powerstone, fascinating book will be open, and you'll likely be killed at this moment. So devs should really do something about that. And one more thing. Powerstone cave in F5 is hell!!! The entrance is surrounded by cyclops, dinos, tigers and lions. I died there for like 15 times before I was able to enter inside. On the bridge I found like 40 monsters. And they didn't allow me to jump off the bridge. So I died there for 15 times also before I somehow decided it safe. And worst is, it wasn't. After I went there with keystone, some bat pushed me off the bridge and I died down there. And I wasn't able to pick keystone back, because each time I jump down and got hit by enemy I was then teleported to the surface above the cave. This is some kind of glitch, and I wasted 2 keystones in the cave. So do this one with caution.
  16. Lets make a few key pointers before the discussion for those who were not part of the 100+ players that were a part of killing the kraken. -have 54 ships mostly brigs with at least 5-7 galleons -high ship volume the closer you get to H8 will cause multiple storm spawns attempting to destroy your ship -once making it there with your armada (and you will need one) randoms may end up spawning the kraken which puts up a wall stopping outside ships from entering so you must all enter in spawn zone at same time. -You will need to deal with many attacks. one of which may one shot your brig. -in addition it takes place in a storm which will cause damage over time while fighting and also cause you personally to take damage unless spec'd correctly -you will need lot of resources in order to repair Looking over this list you can tell this is a vary costly monster to attempt to kill. It costs resources and time to build and prepare. After all that 54 ships and an overloaded server to take this beast down. What rewards did we get for this hard work (some more then other organizer i mean you). Well nothing..........if you died. you might consider that to be ok right. But out of those 54 ships how many do you think survived? 40? 30? 20? nope try 3....and out of the entire armada of 54 ships only the crew (which were still ALIVE) got any reward. The rest of the armada got wasted time spent, sunken ships, and sunken resources. Maybe it was meant to be a risk a gamble risk all this for a chance of an reward. The question i ask myself is why would I want to try it again? Next question since now we know for a fact that if you die you get nothing how likely is it for people to work as a team to take this monster down again? Personally I don't recommend even attempting if you want something back for your hard work.
  17. The fire elemental is everything wrong when it comes to design a monster . It can fly , very large agro range , have 40K hp , have super armor that reduced both piercing and explosion attack along with a homing waterproof fireball AOE attack that burn through 20% HP regardless of armor and will kill 1k HP animal within 6-7 hits . The stun mechanic that supposed to help when fighting it won't work most the time , tried spam arrows , canister shot ,balista , boulder but it won't get stun and you usually can't outrun its homing fireball , also you only deal a little more damage during rain which is nothing cus his HP pool just so large . If you ever want an impossible boss fight , throw all player inside a room with a single Fire elemental and watch it roast the entire crew . Most people just opt for luring it away instead of fighting head on but Fire elemental have fixed patrol route and will always try to fly back to where it was . Compare to other minor monster on Power Stone island : +Cyclop : can hit its eye easily and actually killable with some coordinate along with balista if you are near shore . +Gorgon : killable . +Rock elemental : Armor that resistance even to explosives but at least can kite away so you won't have to deal with it . Fire elemental is just in the league of its own . Suggestion : make stun more consistent , for example when it forms the fireball and you shoot at it , it will be stunned and cancel its attack . Remove the homing fire ball , replace with a fireball that travel faster . Remove the super armor because it already have such large HP pool . Thank you for taking your time reading through this whining drunkard feedback .
  18. As far as I back, I'll continue to write my feedback. My last thread was here: This season my crewmate went to WoW so I'm all alone. I play PVE. I always live in LAWLESS. I prefer to live in TUNDRA. 01 - Did you BALANCE traderoutes? From what I saw so far, in LAWLESS PVE players want to capture as much space as they can with their windmills and warehouses. I mean sometimes they wanna have like 10 farmhouses and 3 warehouses around the island. With huge radius around each of building, It prevent another players from building their farms and warehouses. So the question is - DO PLAYERS REALLY NEED THAT MUCH FOR THEIR TRADING??? For example, I built my small village (no more castles etc, just separate houses to make it less pieces), and today I found SOMEONE ELSE's warehouse RIGHT INSIDE MY BASE! All space around simply covered by another players windmills, and his warehouse isn't connected to ANY of his windmills (he has some but in to another part of island). But the guy decide he need this exact spot AT MY BASE to build his warehouse. While he already have few in to another part of island. So... maybe you balance all traderoutes chain so quantity doesn't matter. But the spot is important? IMAO - best situation is, when player or company simply need just one farm, one warehouse and one market. Or maybe you should consider to limit amount of warehouses/farmhouses/markets by 1 per player/company at each island??? 02 - Sad story (The way to loose it all). I understand that ATLAS is "So many efforts - so little reward". But some times it even go to "So many efforts to flush in to toilet!" It doesn't make your players happy, you know? I was on my way to earn first 5k gold for Schooner (no trading for me, check message above), spent like a whole day, sailing and do treasure hunting. I've got jackpot - boosted treasure map, which was on "goldens" few grid from my base. With all caution, I've got there. I was able to deal with damned army, and dug the treasure. I was safely back to my ship, and full of joy, prepared tp departure. Suddenly I've got 3.3k damage to my ANCHORED boat OUT OF NOWHERE. It destroyed my bed, my campfire. Then another 3k hit. I couldn't understand a thing, there were NO enemies around, no drake (it was hydra island), no elementals, no hydra herself. Third hit destroyed my boxes, and throw me and my bear away from my boat. I was able to get to the shore, and only after I called my bear to follow I saw CYCLOP WALKING OUT FROM THE UNDERWATER!!! It means this guy was there for some reason, aggroed me, and right from underwater he started to hit me and land damage THROUGHT THE PLANKS OF MY ANCHORED SHIP. I died. With my bed destroyed, I wasn't able to respawn anywhere near, and by the time I built another ship, and got there - all stuff from my corpse and from all boxes was gone forever. All GOLD I'VE GOT so far was gone forever. So... I just wanna repeat what I was saying before. Expensive ship - it good. It prevent ppl from ship flooding all spaces around, speed up servers etc. BUT. You, SOMEHOW, have to make things, so people WOULD NOT loos all they earned to some monster hidden underwater, and without any warning hitting them through the walls. 03 - Whales do ranged attack. And yeah. This is not all my issues. Just before I arrived to goldens, I was sailing through the cold biomes, and suddenly my ship got several hit to planks 450+ each hit, and star to spinning around. Again - from nowhere, no reasons. I checked around and found that there was whale. He was far. He was out of my ballista's range. But he landed damage to my boat somehow from that far range... It means I could loose all my gold simply because I didn't dodge a whale far enough. I pass like 300 meters from him and he hit me, and I somehow had to guess I need to dodge at least 400 meter right???
  19. I finally figured out how "OceanEpicSpawnEntriesOverrideValues" works and wanted to share my findings with everyone, im going to try to break it down to where anyone can understand it but if you see a way i can in prove it please let me no Im going to start out of by showing you what i call the "framework" of "OceanEpicSpawnEntriesOverrideValues", and try to break it down to the important parts. The only thing you going to have to change in the "framework" will be "MaxDesiredNumEnemiesMultiplier=", this is what controls how many mobs will spawn total (not per mob spawn), per mob spawn is random (example: lets say you have it set to spawn a mermaid, gentle whale, squid and have "MaxDesiredNumEnemiesMultiplier=" set to 10. What will happen is, it many spawn 3 mermaids, 4 squids, 3 whales, randomly and stop spawning, since 3+4+3=10 and you set "MaxDesiredNumEnemiesMultiplier=" to 10, it will stop spawning new mobs from the "OceanEpicSpawnEntriesOverrideValues") Now this is where you get to pick what mobs you want to spawn, to make it easier for everyone im going to list all the spawn that i know of and if i missed one please let me know and ill see it gets added to the list Mean Whale Gentle Whale Squid Mermaid Mean Whale Sea Monster GentleWhale Sea Monster ones you have selected what mobs you want to spawn, replace whats blow with what mobs you want IMPORTANT NOTE: after every mob entry (but the very last one) a "," MUST be added at the end of the entry After you get done, it should look something like this, NOTE the "," that was added at the end of every entry but the last one You just about done, just make it in to one single line of code with no break, example (NPCSpawnEntries=((NPCsToSpawn=(BlueprintGeneratedClass'/Game/Atlas/Creatures/MeanWhale/MeanWhale_Character_BP.MeanWhale_Character_BP_C'),NPCsSpawnOffsets=((X=0.000000,Y=0.000000,Z=-700.000000)),NPCsToSpawnPercentageChance=(1.000000)),(NPCsToSpawn=(BlueprintGeneratedClass'/Game/Atlas/Creatures/Squid/Squid_Character_BP.Squid_Character_BP_C'),NPCsSpawnOffsets=((X=0.000000,Y=0.000000,Z=0.000000)),NPCsToSpawnPercentageChance=(1.000000)),(NPCsToSpawn=(BlueprintGeneratedClass'/Game/Atlas/Creatures/Mermaid/Mermaid_Character_BP.Mermaid_Character_BP_C'),NPCsSpawnOffsets=((X=0.000000,Y=0.000000,Z=0.000000)),NPCsToSpawnPercentageChance=(1.000000))),NPCSpawnLimits=,MaxDesiredNumEnemiesMultiplier=4.000000) And you done just at that code to "OceanEpicSpawnEntriesOverrideValues" with the server editer, and have fun! Lets do some testing, after you add you code to "OceanEpicSpawnEntriesOverrideValues" and gave you server a good reboot, do a wild dino wipe with this command One you entered the command, give it a few min. for everything to re-spawn on the server/grid (this is a per grid command, so you will have to do this on every grid that you want to test that you are running), now lets see if our spawns showed up with the below commands Ones you entered the command (for only the ones you want to test) check the console of that grid, if it found a spawn it will list every spawn of that type thats on the server/grid (so if 4 mermaids was spawn you will see it listed 4 times, and if 0 mermaids was spawned it will show nothing) example below
  20. Thank you George, this is a great summary of this quest. Reading all you other commends over the last year i thought you would have done this already several times. But as you play solo your progress is much slower. You analysis is very good regarding the chance to complete the power stones as solo player. I tried this also on a Private PVE Server and i did not finish one stone. In a group of 3-5 players it's much more easy to get the hydra to the beach. Of course in a Mega Tribe you can just go there with 50-60 carabine guns and shot every monster in your way.(like you can kill the Kraken this way too) @G5 there can be a hydra spawn on top of the mountain(lower left spawn) where you may have to climb up about 30 minutes and it's difficult to kite her down without getting ignited. So you may never go there to even search for hydra... if she's up there you do not want to be the one killing her for others to get a more easy spawn. Power stones caves are easy if you go in with 2 players... the first runs in and jumps from the bridge while the second one is close following. Of course some caves have snakes where it is difficult to jump over them without getting one hitted. But after some trials you figure out how to do and can tell pretty safe when there is the time to go in with the key. Make sure you are nacked and also drop your crap steering wheel skin... if you die there will not be a pocket left... only if you die with the key. The way to reset the powerstones is putting them in a cargo rack and drop it followed up by picking the floating cargo up again. You can reset everything that spoils... for example your tresure maps. You can repeat this as often as you like to. As I don't play anymore i don't care if the devs will read this now... i even guess they are not in this forum so probably that will give us proove that they are not reading our feedback here. Otherwise they may consider this as a bug that needs to be fixed as players should expirience much more hardcore with loosing stuff just to an expire date.(Keys should last 12h at least) The Kraken fight is not that difficult. You can do it solo with a Brig. It should have 5 or 6 small cannons each side to target the tentacles. With 6 100% cannon and 100% ships damage you may not destroy one tentacle with one salve so you may consider using improved cannons and get your ships damage up some levels. Make sure your crew is not lvl 1 and has more thann 200-300 HP. Don't use rear facing cannons, the NPC there can get hit by the kraken shots and those cannons can take much damage and get destroyed. Make sure you skill yourself to HP as your first trial will be difficult to figure out when the Kraken starts his area lightning attack which can kill you if you get two times in it. I recommend to have 3-4 healings and maybe a monkey for healing buff. The SoTD in the fight have reduced damage but more life so you try to avoid them while killing the tentacles. If you destroy all tentacles you have to drive to the center and manualy aim the head from close range. Auto fire order does not work, only for tentacles. The lightning area attack is visible some seconds before the strike so it can be avoided with good timing. The attacks are set to a fix duration but it's possible that one tentacle can repeat the area attack. If you get in the area attack you can not use the steering wheel. Make sure you wistle the sails open to get out. Xbox Players may face issues that the healing is not working/buged. The damage to your ship is very low and most likely will only hit your rear upper planks. So it's solo possible and you don't need much repairs as long you don't get into the SoTD. My suggestion is a ship with 200% armor skill and 150-180% damage. As you drive in circles you may use handling sails to have better wind angles. Galleons are not good in turning so it's kind of a waste to go in with more than a Brig. A Shooner can do this job too but your planks have less health so it's more risk if you don't trust your sailing skills. If you have a made or passengers the safest place is maybe on deck or sitting on a chair under deck. Standing under the deck maybe looking out of the gun port to see the action can make you glitch out and swimming with the sharks... you will die and don't get the quest(yes, happend to me in my first trial as passenger) Majestic Kraken: You could use harvest boost after killing the squids if you have all 9 power stones and complete the Ice Dungeon by killing the Yeti boss. Chance to complete solo = 0% So this ships costs is completely useless. It's a Brig with double amout of cannons which should have to be much more weight compared so it should be slower which means it will lose PvP vs a Brig. For you as solo player fighting SotD with broadside attacks it could be a good ship... so hey, we got PvE content added.
  21. So, been playing Blackwood for a couple weeks now, roughly. There's absolutely fish on or around most islands, although any freshwater fish can be difficult to locate, other than on the central Freeport island. Catfish are plentiful there, and other resources seem to be fairly easy to get, especially once you can place a mine for metals. The only resource types we had an issue with were gems (only available on the southern 3 islands), and a few other very specific resources (acerolla, rosemary, rice, maize - found on southern desert island and western central island). No islands except the northern and northeastern, as far as we've discovered, have sea life. Monster whale seems to favor the southern islands, SotD can be found north and southeast of Freeport (and possibly elsewhere), flotsam and shipwrecks are reasonably common, and cyclops are dicks. There's only 2 of us on a private dedicated, so we're just now at the schooner ship level, but food and resources are easily managed. We've lost one sloop thus far to a whale, and lots of tamed bears and ostriches (bears to cyclops), but we also managed to kill a cyclops. Skullclap Island is fairly easy, except for the lions, and since heat seems to be just as much a killer as most aggressive animals, that's where we made our home, since it's apparently easier to stay warm than cool. Lots of sea bass and manta rays for endless fish supplies, and lots of other animals for other meat. Plus garlic grows in the wild. Mods have helped with farming issues, and other than QoL mods like Atlas Plus, we've been fine.
  22. Completely wrong. We can defend against your dream 100 guns one shot front ugly monster creations.... ...by build such a monster creation as well. The point is that we dont want these ships at all. Try out using the wind as a real sailor for a broadside combat. Clearly you have to use your brain and tactics to do so. Not an easy task for teenage one-shot quick gankers without tactical understanding.
  23. Each PowerStone gives you 40 DP. We have 8 PowerStones, so 8x40 = 320 DP GhostShip gives also 40 DP Monster Sperm Whale gives 50 DP Monster Blue Whale gives 50 DP Sea Demon (Kraken) gives 150 DP. Each island gives 1 DP and has several DiscoZones, each of which also gives 1 DP (with the exception of FreePorts)
  24. The concept of Fountain of Youth I can dig. Your character gets old, and you want to be young again. Especially since you get a debuff if you don't and a stat increase if you do. Motivation. You have to go find it - cool. This game has a big sailing/exploring component, that fits the bill for pretty much all players. But then you have to go to an island in a fairly narrow time window (given the distance it takes to sail places), that's filled to the brim with creatures that will kill you in one hit? Surrounded by abandoned sloops and rafts because I guess your character has learned in all their years that you have to do countless suicide runs to become young again? Yuck. I'm posting this because a couple of us in our company of 5 set out to find the FoY in our sloop. It took nearly 4 hours to get there (due to a location moving away unexpectedly), only to end with us unable to even reach the fountain due to countless Fire Elementals, Gorgons, Lions, Scorpions, etc filling the land, swimming out to sea to get us, and even crossing over multiple abandoned sloops to attack our ship and destroy 3 out of our 4 beds. Half the time we couldn't spawn from dying because a creature was on our ship attacking our loading in bodies. Not fun at all, and a disheartening way to log off from an evening of sailing. Is the idea that you should be able to take on this endless spawn island? Is the idea you're supposed to attempt to sneak past them? As far as I can tell, neither of those really work, as most strategies I've seen or heard about just involve zerging the island with another people that the monsters are too distracted to get you, which doesn't work if you're aging off cycle from a main group of people. What I think currently works: The concept of needing to find a fountain of youth to get young again (due to stat incentives) Traveling to find a fountain of youth Having some sort of 'test' or 'challenge' in order to obtain the fountain of youth What I think currently does not work: An island entirely full of monsters who can one-hit you (probably even if you have gear) The current timing of island movement (seems a little too short still) This implies that I would like the current test or challenge at the end (i.e. a ton of monsters) to change, or to be decoupled from the power stone thing (that's what is also on that island, right? I'm just interested in the FoY tbh haha). Here are some suggestions on different challenges that would happen on 'normal' non-monster filled islands: Have the FoY challenge be more like a treasure map. Go to a location on that island (or on a different island) to face a select group of creatures that appear when you show up. Then claim their treasure (has a mcguffin) to turn into the FoY. Could scale the difficulty depending on how many times you've youth'd, up to a higher limit. Instead of fighting monsters, you just have to find keys on the same island or different islands. Number of keys could increase depending on how many times you've youth'd, again. Have one big monster guarding the FoY. You can try to sneak past (there's a lit route, or something), kill it to get treasure, or YOLO your way to try and get to the fountain. Seems more reasonable than 'island full' of monsters. So those are my thoughts, but what do you all think would make this mechanic more fun?
