  1. Some of you are complaining about stuff that occurs every game. Yes, those who played before have the leg up on those who haven't. There Is talk among those of us who are active still to not go after new joins for a few weeks come launch. I would like to see new joins have the option to keep an invulnerability buff up for at least two weeks which can be removed at anytime by the company leader. Eventually I see the Xbox community dwarfing the pc players what that means or foreshadows is anyone's guess. This game isn't hard but you can't play this game solo, I mean sure you can but you stand no chance at all. I would like to see solo players who join a certain area of the map to auto join a default company. There is no need to fight over resources building stuff etc. on the first day. But this will give people a better chance to maybe splinter off and get there own companies of reasonable size to acquire a small piece of the world. This game isn't hard its about teamwork its about getting a base setup and defended w/ NPC/pc's. Pool your resources, start taming the highest level creatures around, collect and do maps so you can build the higher level ships, make friends to those players in the same grid. Make sure you have a healthy size population for your company. Don't sail around solo sure 1v1's are nice but why waste your time when you can have friends helping you out so you don't keep constantly building new ships. Level your ships and find the latest meta on what the best builds are. Have fun, don't get personal and don't be a racist when it comes to dealing with people who don't speak your language. I am an American player who joined up with a Chinese company. Not only is this situation beneficial we are able to have 24 hrs of coverage for the most part. I'm looking forward to what's being mentioned in the upcoming changes to the game some stuff like pillar spamming are greatly needed. So Is the fact that you can store your boat if you are offline. Offline raiding while this may be fun for some this isn't pvp its griefing and doesn't do anything to help grow the community.
  2. The system is broke I get it, A 9hr window is to large a time frame for people to protect there stuff. So can we just make all islands people own unattackable unless declared war upon? This simple fix will do wonders for the game and will give folks a chance to actually playing and enjoying it. Right now its impossible to protect yourself. Let the high seas be what they may but for now either give companies 1 island with 24hr protection if they expand beyond that then those additional islands can have a vulnerable timer on them. Let the little guys have a chance for crying out loud.
  3. Put trade winds into the game a fast traveling system that allows players a risk/reward for using this system. Some risks would be that players could setup ambushes on the route to pick off players etc. Companies need restrictions on who they can attack. Large companies should only have the option of taking on other large companies. Let the smaller tribes fight one another or have an option to allow them to also be attacked by larger companies if so chosen. Fix the horrible building concept. When you go to build a structure and you have this huge gap in your wall for no reason other then bad mechanics something like this needs to of been fixed during the first couple weeks. New upcoming patches are addressing additional content. However stuff like the kraken needs to occur not in a static point on the map but as a response trigger to large fleets sailing around together. If a fleet of lets say 3 galleons, 8 brigs etc are traveling around the kraken should be able to spontaneously spawn to disrupts large fleets. The bigger then fleet the harder the Kraken and with that the greater the reward if the kraken is defeated. This should happen anywhere on the map. Static cave events like the cold weather cave should not be a one time use. We can't have content that is only used once and its done it creates dead areas on the map. Maybe after doing a quest the dungeon unlocks so maybe a rare material spawns in the cave that can only be found here. This will allow pvp areas to be contested and sought after. We need more events at sea maybe spawning ghost ships on people. Or something like black beards revenge where a ghost fleet will pop up on players or fleets of players these encounters are of hard to extremely hard difficulty and would allow a greater risk/reward system as far as loot obtained for defeating these encounters. These encounters are random and once again anyplace on the map will be vulnerable to these encounters. The bigger the fleet the harder the spawn small fleets have an easier encounter and all these encounters can be dismissed by just traveling away from the encounter so if you don't want to do this event you can get out of doing it. More ship and sail types, more skins, make defensive land structures actually work and make them less trivial right now no defensive structure stands a chance against a player. Make the combat window for a company 4 hrs or a war token still allowing 24hrs. Right now nobody can keep up with a 9 hr window every single day people have to work, school etc. this is forcing people out of the game due to it feeling like a job and not a game. I would even suggest as a gold sink allowing players the ability to not have a combat window at all forcing tribes to war declare them if they so choose to attack such an opponent. If a company doesn't want to be attacked they will have to pay for this ability which could be one means of a gold sink.
  4. Its well known the devs are aware of it already. This same company was abusing other bugs and when they rectified it a couple patches ago where people using bugged stuff was removed from the game. This ship was allowed to stay. You see its a feature the devs introduced and since it was allowed to even be made they will not remove it from the game. Some bugs are good to do and some bugs will get you banned. Seems like If you speak with a foreign accent you get banned but if you're an English speaking company you get multiple warnings or free passes.
  5. So you allow a Triple gunned boat stay in the game how about removing it since its clearly abusing a bug. This is BS that you allow this blatant cheating I guess you just don't want a population in your game. Well you have one less player due to your blatant disregard to people abusing bugs.
  6. Yes this is still occurring, its down right annoying getting repeatedly thrown from the ship.
  7. I've validated 3x, I've redownloaded and I still can't get in the game. The game keeps popping up with host connection window. Then tries to connect, window pops up again and tries to connect. I just never actually get anywhere. Help?
  8. Game is still not loading I keep getting the host connection screen then it immediately tries to connect then the screen pops up rinse and repeat, I've validated, reloaded the game and nothing is working.
  9. I'm still having issues my client is constantly rebooting even after validating files
  10. This is just standard industry practice now when it comes to players testing. This isn't how it used to be they used to hire folks to test which ended up costing small companies quite a bit of money. Like Winter Thorne covered when you have backers of the game they like shareholders have demands and high expectations off the bat. This could be good but imo kills off way to many companies who if and when given a chance can develop quite a good game they just need the time to get it going. A lot has changed but the one good thing that remains is small companies still have a fighting chance against some of the big companies. Which is good for gamers.
  11. I agree it should never of been separated. PvP and PvE can easily operate on one server together.
  12. it was only 25 bucks it was well worth the price. I spend more on coffee in a day. I do agree the ptr was unnecessary just launch and fix as we go.
  13. Please start charging for cosmetic skins. We understand you are short staffed. These cosmetic items shouldn't give anyone an advantage nobody wants pay to win. However skins you can go in many directions. Figurehead for ships, unique ship designs, weapon skins, clothing skins. This is quite popular these days and if this helps bring in more game designers to help make the game better then please do this through your site. As to avoid the 30% steam takes from you all when charging for stuff.
  14. I'm surprised the pve players haven't asked for a 4 grid area on there map for pvp battles only like an arena. This it seems is what you want to have. All the peace of building as large as you want no chance of losing anything and yet still an opportunity to pvp to test your skills. I'm sure the devs can accommodate this.
  15. This is why you are going to want to talk to a bigger company and ask to setup on there island. You'll help defend and they will in turn help defend you if you choose to try and play with a small company. Yeah you are going to pay tribute but that is what occurs when you insist on being small. Even the big companies get knocked out it happened numerous times during the last testing phase. Nobody is invulnerable all you can do is try and setup defenses as best as possible to defend ones self. Always make friends and never hesitate to call for help. A small company can easily defend itself against a much larger group for hours on end. At one point in the game we had 4 people take on and defend a base for over 6hrs from a 30+ person group. Once we were able to get allies rallied they came and wiped the attackers. This is what makes the game exciting.
