just to clarify you cant retrieve the mats from your container in the water, you can just look into the inventory, i dont know if enemy players can retrieve from inventory in water but no one in same company can.

yes a gal with 6 weight sails will give you an extra 24k weight add 6 cargo racks and a gal can carry 66k in weight just sails plus rack, so you can overload even more with the spare weight of gal itself, but remember weight sails are slower than speed sails so you take a speed hit from them as well as a speed hit of 40% from the gargo racks themselves.

tested a few times, if you dump cargo rack in water, and then retrieve it, you lose mats, i did this anchored, tested it with 500 wood, when dropped in water cargo container lost 150 wood . Also evertime subsequently dropped and retrieved it lost more wood it went from 500 to 350 to 245 to 171 to 119. now here the kicker, if you release the cargo box, and retrieve it without looking inside it while its in the water it doesnt lose any mats, but if you open up the inventory while its in the water then retrieve it it loses mats

TBH doesnt really matter much, i did a weight check as i was building my gal and decks came out at 34kg each and ceiling walls ect were at 2kg each so all 6 decks is under 200kg and 100 ceiling whatever at 200kg, planks add 95% of the base weight, so basically 1 lvl up in weight covers almost all cosmetic weight of the gal, and weight sails are just not worth it over all your gal is slower with anything else than speed sails , and a weight sail only kicks in at 80% + weight with only margenal gains, anything above 60 to 70% weight in pvp and your dead meat , and at 80%+ weight your so slow its better doing 2 trips even over long distance. better off farming a high level ship yard to gain extra levels for the gal. check these sail analysis videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0271uiVgvQ&t=623s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dR8lXkTiHY

you need a good mid range pc with min 16 gigs ram (better 32g) i know what they say as recommended is lower than this but if you go into or on island a tile with a mega, ive seen my mem jump from 8-9 gigs to 18+ if you really kill the graphics and lower the rez, you can manage lower, but tbh game looks like shit at those settings
