Armor needs buffed and/or would love to see more types
ReilanT replied to Gfnjr's topic in General Discussion
youre a true, actualy Fur and plate armor ( base armor with high score of 40 ) is just a joke, again wildlife they protect nothing, wolf, lion, tiger, sneak, gator can kill you so fast .. i hope to see too more pirate like armore to the game but actually Dev need to work on balance ! -
the Combat in Général are Bad actually, alpha and Normal agro wildlife, can kill you Most too fast, with the best common armor can you craft and with a lot of skill point in Life ( 150 for me ) Wolf, tiger, Lion, can kill me in 2 or 3 shot and dont speak about Close combat weapon Usesless again this creature ... and we are Supposed to fight Cyclops, Hydra and Gorgone ? that a joke ?? Combat balance need to be Reworked soon as Possible,

Seems this got fixed now, just got a head shot on a lvl 23 wolf doing 399 dmg with a green carbine and was a 1 shot kill. Can finally leave the house again.
-
If people don't want them nerfed that's fine....then incentive needs to be increased to kill them, let me drop blueprints...or something...to get people to want to kill them...cause what good is killing an alpha wolf for loot? Nothing.
-
I dunno...I think its cheesy you have to flame arrow them to do anything to them. Why can't we kill them any other way? A mount should be able to handle it if their level 60+...but no, not even close...hell...you'd need 5-10 bears all level 60+ to kill 1 alpha wolf...without losses...and if you are melee you stand no chance.

1.No facial textures after equipping Common Hide Pants. https://imgur.com/a/k5kvQUt 2.Pistols not making any headshots anymore, locked at 75dmg. Took me 4 shots to kill lvl 16 boar, and lvl 7 wolf (cyclops at golden ruins was hard to kill, now its almost impossible) Not cheked other firearms weap. Maybe same dmg in pvp.

Been Defending The Hell Out Of The Game To Friends
FriesenGamin replied to FriesenGamin's topic in General Discussion
I didnt feel it was horrible before the patch. Now you have to play careful and not run into 2 or more wolves cause you cant head shot a wolf and kill it. We cant grind on our next ship cause the resources dont respawn lol. I still see a bad ass future for the game (long time from now) but having a hard time playing it right now. -
Sometimes my animal tames and ship crew glitch out and start hovering away from the ship. If you don't notice quick enough they are too far away to whistle them down from space. Lost a Bear that was flying to the moon, Watched a crew member slowly slide across the ocean. Had an Elephant just disappear while I was fighting an alpha wolf. No death messages for the Tames or crew. They just floated off lol. We'll all float on anyway, I guess.

There are two kinds of wolves it seems. In the lawless areas surrounding freeports, wolves are pretty easy to kill. Much slower, less aggressive and just attack slower. In other areas (any that you can claim) they're buffed as fuck. Hit faster, harder and with longer range. It's crazy. I've seen islands with 20+ wolves just flying around at light speed killing every single animal that spawns. Noped the fuck out of there straight away. I suspect people saying "just kill them" simply haven't seen the second kind of wolf.

The multiple firearm carry is a weak argument. The crating and maintenance cost still can't beat a bow and arrow. Let alone total weight to carry multiple firearms and ammo. As well the loss of maneuverability the players have during reload times. Think one gun reload is terrible, reloading 2, 3, 4, hell an entire hot bar, is certain death. The current "magic pixel" for head shots is already difficult. Add on how mobs and players move, it's a waste of time and skills. Here is what really gets me laughing. The carbine cost 65 ingots to craft and another 35 to maintain. A medium cannon cost 28 ingots to craft. HA! How does this make sense? The Carbine is so worthless, today I logged on at 1600 and now at 1800, I'm still killing wolves. They breed like rabbits with 30 seconds a re-spawn. I chewed a stack of metal for maintenance and ammo. After finally running out of metal I just crafted a bow with 900 arrows. After 900 arrows I just called it a day. Another 2 hours wasted on wolf slayer simulator.

sorry but it doesn't sound like you enjoy the idea of a game with any danger. you are asking for a "I win button" We have the same issues, but not the same problems. alpha boars and elephants on my island will kill any predators that attack them. We have used them as shields by leading predators to them. We built giant gates around our taming traps so we are not interrupted. We have plenty of fire arrows on base to burn down alphas if no veggie alphas around to fight them for us. also we built our base on top of pillars so no predator can agro or reach us while in base. As i said they are also great providers of large amounts of mats, so as we use them to lvl up we never have to waste time hunting down 100wolves for hide, because the occasional alpha wolf that shows up at our front door provides us with 1.5k+ easy. and with fire arrows around, it only takes 1 person to handle the alpha while the rest keep doing what they are doing and get massive shared exp.

Why were firearms nerfed into oblivion against creatures?
Ransurias replied to Ransurias's topic in General Discussion
Here's a video I uploaded showcasing the new firearms in action. I can no longer one-shot some predators with my carbine, and one level 27 wolf I engaged earlier took a headshot with both my pistol and carbine without dying, so I had to punch him a couple of times to finish him off. -
Developers are confused This is not Ark this is Atlas
YoBerg replied to Tony.Macaroni's topic in Bug Reports
Snakes are just plain broke. Not even Alphas...Every time I log in (usually once per day) there seems to be a Giant Snake trying to eat my company members by glitching through the roof/walls/floors and attacking us. I mean...come on... Wolves are in the same vein of broke. Attacking walls, sure. I can get that. They smell prey, they go after it, especially if someone builds on a predetermined spawn/roaming area. However, having a wolf swim far enough out into the water and eat your body where you parked your Brig or Galleon is a bit excessive on the "free roam" scale...Having to start over from Square Zero every time you log in is very disconcerting and honestly, I'm getting tired of it. It's what got me to stop playing Ark, too...no matter how many walls or defenses my team built, there was always something that managed to waltz by all of it and completely destroy the stuff in the center. I think that changing the code of aggression involving predators to only latch onto the persons/people who aggro'd them, then return to the spot they were originally at would not only solve a lot of offline deaths, but also solve a lot of griefing problems of people using alphas to destroy everything in a base then steal a claim when someone's offline. Unless, of course, the devs state that that is a feature of the game and a genuine strategy. In which case, we might as well just straight-up hack the servers and argue that digital piracy is still piracy.../facepalm. -
I tested with a wolf tame and it doesn't appear to contest the claim, so tames don't work. Could anyone test it using a NPC please ? All mine got killed ! Thanks.

Developers are confused This is not Ark this is Atlas
Package replied to Tony.Macaroni's topic in Bug Reports
Hey OP, Sorry to break it to you but this is their game not yours.. so you have no right to tell them what they are doing is wrong as far as development. but you can say "wild wolf packs are too strong and destroying everything, This seems like a bug" rather than "you seem to be confused about what kind of game you are making here let me tell you what i think it should be and until you do that its wrong" just because its not what you assume it to be does not mean its wrong. they are your assumptions. -
You're not supposed to be taming them with berries. Tier 1 Chicken - Fruits, Berries Monkey - Fruits, Berries Parrot - Hardtack, or Berries Rabbit - Carrots, or Berries Sheep - Flowers, or Berries Tier 2 Bear - Honey, Vegetables, Fruits or Berries Cow/Bull - Rushes, Fronds, Vegetables, Fruits, or Berries Crow - Worms, Fruits, or Berries Horse - Sugarcane, Vegetables, Fruits, or Berries Ostrich - Chili, Vegetables, Fruits, or Berries Penguin - Prime Fish Meat, or Fish Meat Pig - Maize, Vegetables, Fruits, or Berries Seagull - Prime Fish Meat, or Fish Meat Vulture - Spoiled Meat, or Worms Wolf - Prime Animal Meat, Bones, or other Meats Tier 3 Elephant - Wheat, Vegetables, or Fruits Giraffe - Beets, Vegetables, or Fruits Lion - Prime Animal Meat, or other Meats Rhino - Turnip, Vegetables, or Fruits Tiger - Prime Animal Meat, or other Meats

Not yet, they are planned to be. There's also monkey to put, they throw poop but dunno what ti does, it have some combat possibilities tho. Also what happens with our tame when we die to Xth wolf wave out of our ass? Does that bird or whatever just gets eaten or what?

I know I know, I'm all for realistic weapon damage, in PvE it doesn't matter, but alas like all MMOs PvP is the god of balancing focus. If you had a rifle that could outright kill a naked guy then you'd be spot on.. infact most projectile weapons would pretty much kill a naked dude. I agree that a gun, should one shot someone in the head, maim someone if shot in the leg... But you'll get the wrath of the almighty streamers.... and we wouldn't want to upset the vaunted guild of 'influencers' that grapeshot worships with every living breath. We had it with Elite Dangerous, almost permanent twiddling of 'balance' for PvP wrecking ball to PvE, and in Atlas, in PvE, flame arrow is for me working as intended.. I'm sure a wolf fireball is supposed to hurt it.. My distain isn't aimed at anyone specifically, just the kneejerk of slashing numbers in a config file, than actually making sense of logical game design decisions. I don't care who or what you are... a cannon ball to the face will tear off your head. Mother nature has no neck muscle strong enough to resist a 6kg ball of iron travelling at 150 m/s... will streamers still kick up a stink about being one shot by galleon artillery? OFC THEY WILL ! lol. There's no winning

I dont get where you all are getting that the aggressive animals are harder?? Sure they nerfed gun damage to them, but I can still kill a wolf before it even gets me below 75%. The only thing that sucks more is the pig and bull knock back is even more stupid than before. But that is a thing I can avoid. Maybe I just dont see the same things you all do. But I also dont go out and try and fight every aggressive animal I see on the PVP server.

Head shot on a lvl 3 wolf did only 147 dmg before last patch it was 300+.

Dear fucking god, Another day, another reason to despise this game (in its current state). A claimed 20% nerf on alphas that is not supported by combat numbers in-game, accompanied by a 40% nerf on HP and damage of tames. Alphas are already OP as fuck and despite a claimed nerf, are still able to destroy a level 70 wolf in even less time than before. And they're still spawning like fleas on a dockyard dog. Are you out of your minds?

ALPHA Creatures are back on Lawless regions since patch V10.42!
a1rum replied to Aery's topic in Bug Reports
(sorry for my english) eu pve v9.3 lawless region i saw alpha cow, wolf, bear, rabbit and shake in two hours game around my base. in v9.3< i saw less alpha ps if you want kill alpha animal - you need ~30 shots from carbine. Its not problem, but you need time and Small Shipyard (or large or any tall construction) -
Had some strange experience with spawns. We have a little shore encampment, and noticed that after logging off, we log in and there are no spawns at all. Now after a short while, things start to materialise. First may be a sheep, then crocks, then wolves.. The epiphany was that the spawns were due to us being there. The game throwing things at us. These animals aren't wandering around, they aren't being governed by some natural behaviour logic code, the game is actually throwing them at us because we're on grid. The more we fight the more is thrown at us... That's not normal it's ridiculous. That's buffoonism from Elite Dangerous. That explains also why we go off scrapping for fiber or wood, and come back and there's an alpha wolf in the middle of our closed off base. When stuff like that happens it's artificial. There should be a spawn perimeter around bases, and when you as a character spawn after a death we should also get a 5 second or so invulnerable counter. When a couple of alpha snakes or whatnot camp your bed when you're starting out, that is not a fun scenario. Someone has to do a proper pass on animals and behaviours sometime. It's whimsical right now.

This update is just fucking terrible in almost every way shape an form i don't care what you say it clear nothing was thought through here and the patch notes were misleading and in some cases just a flat lie like "- Armour effectiveness and some values have been adjusted so that firearms are more useful in PVP"My ass they are firearms still do the same dmg to someone in full plate in version 10.42 than they did in version 9.43 and infact the only actual fucking change is guns now do half their normal dmg to nakes and animals so it takes 2-3 head shots to kill a wolf, and if a player even has 10 points into hp it will take 2 head shots to kill a fucking naked person. Than there the zero mention about stone walls having their cost tripled with now requiring 200+ alloys to make them or the vague "- Some ship costs have been adjusted, and in some cases reduced by approximately about 50%" Cause ya that clear which parts were reduced and by how much. Plus me and my company have found multiple changes in the game from this patch that weren't even listed in the patch notes like how cotten comes from yellow plants now on tundra island instead of dead branches which is actual a good change but were the fuck is the patch notes about this what else was changed without telling us.

i see that too, but they have no change, Wolf Stuck always u on their body, kill player with a 40 armor and 150 life point in 2 or 3 hit, i like Difficulty but ... i would to have fun too
