  1. after 5-10 seconds of free painting on the lighthouse billboard, or any time a saved pnt is loaded, whether created from within atlas or 3rd party applications, player disconnects and dyes are wasted. Problem can be duplicated with consistent results. Problem does not occur while painting sails, or wooden billboards.
  2. Personally, for PvE AND PvP, it should be impossible to sink a ship by weighing a person down. I defies logic that a person could hold over a tonne and not be crushed. Frankly, I'd like to see people start DYING if they start holding that much weight, and items that are dropped on a ship not count for weight when docked. You DO need a weight system so that people aren't holding EVERYTHING safely on their ship without consequence. That mechanic would make ships the ultimate 'vault'. You'd see people building a Galleon, and never moving it. That said, I DO support the idea of weight only counting if you're part of the Company; as long as there's NO weight-stacking enemy inventories after they are dead (an exploit that would allow them to drag a body to their own ship, and weigh it down). FURTHERMORE, there needs to be a 'warning' and a 'log' of any person boarding your ship who's not in your company. This isn't hard to implement. Once in the 'zone' of your hull, your screen shows a warning (similar to when they're trying to take your flag). If such a thing is implemented, it's easier to see who is griefing (catching them in the act with screenshots), and further disciplinary action/game updates can occur as a result of showing the devs exactly what's going on in the game so this sort of thing stops quickly - BEFORE everyone leaves the game as a result of inaction.
  3. Few things on this... there is a ceiling that will insta kill you. The bug should be reported in the open now especially now durring ea before wipes start.. The more people know the better. The zipline is a double jump bug. Using your hands or a macro repeatedly hit space bar while going down a zip line. If your macro is not set up right you will hit the death ceiling. Now, adding a glider will get you to go far at heights. But here is the big issue.. if you do anything while flying like caugh or poop due to vitamin issues your wings close and you will fall. So stay above water. With out a zipline it is same thing the inital gain height with wing suit can be cheesed same way... Easy fix for devs is to only allow jump input to occur x times a second. Hard code it..

THIS and so much this. its looks like the official servers are unmoderated, unprotected and uncared for. yes they maintain technical integrity and stability as good as they can. but I seriously doubt they ever logged onto their own game for more than a couple of minutes. the whole system shows that. they mabe tried to once if "mining works" or "taming interface comes up".. but never actually invested hours in taming something themselves, as well as mining something to build something big themselves. they dont have the slightest clue on how this weight griefing is actually done on theri servers. they have never seen a horde or players gliding onto a ship and unloading, they have never seen ships with dedicated boarding ramps built on them just for the sole purpose of being able to sink ships. (they use their own ships just as a stepping stone to help board others) it seems - and many otrher suggested - that the company doesnt give arats arese about PVE and what happens there. the claim system - although bad - might be workable in PVP; in PVE its a gamebreaking issue. yet they keep it and change some timers. sorry to inform you that its not timers that are the issue. its the underlying mechanic of being able to conest and then claim everything thats in that claim. ARK had some of the worst Meta i´ve ever seen in an online game: big Tribes basically shutting down whole servers. sealclubbing anyone that was new or tryied to make it. offline raiding - which is the lowest form of "pvp" , if you even can call that pvp. yet the game seems to be directly developed to foster exactly this behavior. if there are no rules , these things (griefing and abusive behavior) will occur more often than not. if theere are rules, but nobody enforces them, its like having no rules at all. a lot of games treied to build their whole online-premise around a 100% player driven content and "socioety". ALL of them have failerd miserably. that does not mean they failed ecomomically though - ARK was pretty darn successfull I guess. but community-wise, those games never got the longevity and "society", that they could have.
  5. Welp, I was respawning on my company's boat to aid them in a battle. Great, right? Except I fell through the floor and got stuck inside the boat. No option exists for me to get out, I've wasted enough time trying to know. There is no suicide option, so I can't respawn in the ship bed. So now I get to alt-tab and just wait for my character to die. Meanwhile, my weight still adds to the boats, and I take up a crew capacity. Battles rage on above my head, but here I sit, helpless. Maybe I can poo myself eventually, but the insta-death from eating poop is not yet in the game. Also, I have a heavy fortitude spec so my death takes that much longer to occur naturally. Well, I'm off to take a nap. Maybe I can play by the time I get back. Grapeshot- please add a suicide option! Thanks.

    Whistling BUG

    This happens when you 1) aim at a tamed animal or stand close to it so the game thinks you're aiming at it and 2) click on Whistle STOP in the wheel menu and then release T. Instead, do not click in the wheel, just place mouse over the command and release T. Or don't aim at any animal or stand too close to an animal when performing the command. It's because T is also bound to Whistle "You follow me" and the game thinks you have pressed T on the animal when you release T after clicking in the wheel menu. If you don't click in the menu and just release T to perform the command, the second whistle does not occur. I'm not saying it's not a bug, just providing a workaround. Edit: you can also use Apostrophe (') to open the whistle wheel menu without issuing the command bound to T (or switch the two key bindings).

What an absolute joke of a company, understand it's early access and problems will occur but when half of the EU servers are down for 30 hours and we are only just getting a "we are working on it message" 5 hours ago on a twitter account that not everyone will be familiar with is ridiculous. No official messages on the website/client/forum other than what other people have wrote, pathetic from a customer service stand point!
  8. I completely agree. I am afraid to even sail anywhere because they seems to spawn in huge clusters together. It is epic to see something rarely, but when you see it all the time it is just a nuisance. The same goes for the vortex storms they just piss me off with how common they occur. I would like to see different types of storms instead of just that one.
  9. It really seems to me like it didn't even occur to the devs that the game would attract solo/causal style players, and now they don't know what to do with them. I think they just hoped they could throw up some PvP servers with the PvP turned off and that would keep PvE players happy.
  10. Yep. As already mentioned a workaround is possible if you want to explore. This is tho only an option on PVE servers. Put a bed on your ship with a box and just venture out as usual. If you see the pop-up that your land is being claimed simply put up a campfire, lit it and jump into it to die fast and respawn at you homebase bed. When the claim is canceled then simply repeat the process and spawn back at your ship bed. The only problem that may occur is someone intentionally trolling you with continuously putting the claim flag up. As I dont have any other crewmebers I cant confirm it, but if the other person has full rights set in the company menu then I guess it should work.
  11. To jump in here, I know this pain. Played from day of release, got myself a really nice little place, built a tower, put out some buoys to warn people of rocks in low places. Where spawns weren't affected etc. Setup looms, tannery, forge, smithy for anyone to use along with water barrels etc and a grill. A week later, I log out.. next morning log in, it's all gone. And I'm met with people gloating about how they stole it in 3 hours. Not just gloating in chat, but over voice as well. If I was on a pvp server, I'd expect this. But on pve server as far as I am concerned it is a breach of contract by Grapeshot to even allow this kind of exploitation to occur, I don't really blame people for being antisocial in a game that openly supports even designs systems towards supporting antisocial play. Grapeshot/Wildcard are entirely to blame here. The following day I built a new base, on a different island, then they added ghost ships. My new sloop, which I hadn't even used, shipyard.. all gone. This time I placed out over a dozen flags, even out into the ocean, I jumped for hours around the cliffs to find weak points and placed flags above my base so it couldn't get stolen. People came with mallets and killed me. That exploit at least now is being fixed. People used pin code hacks to break through doors, each one using a random pin code. Then they stole from my pin coded lockers. Fortunately, I'd hidden most of my metal behind false walls, which they didn't find. So the bulk of my resources were safe. This game, could be the next Great Ark, the next great game for thousands of pve players to relax in, to talk and chat, to help each other and be social and kind. But grapeshot seem to be going out of their way to allow open exploitation. Allowing flag overlaps to steal isn't bad coding, it's bad design. No two flags from opposing companies should be allowed within an entire flags radius of range from each other, it should not be possible to even place a flag to overlap already claimed land. The game should be designed like this. With the patching to allow ghosts to kill rafts.. even at a claimed "darn close" distance, I expect I'll loose my raft now, parked off shore to a wandering ghost. And what will be the fix? 20% reduction again in something. No. Ghosts need to be removed from gameplay completely. Exploits need to be removed from gameplay completely. New mechanics need to be designed with player safety in mind, not just thrown into the mix all lazy and cack handed to be improved upon down the line. It isn't really that I don't want to play anymore..but that I feel, Grapeshot/Wildcard don't want me to play anymore. They get that wish.
  12. Past couple days have all been about balancing the Ghost ships (I know what they really are called, but this is easier). I have further balance change suggestions the envelop the wider scope of the game, that SHOULD happen soon Ghost ships need to be restricted to high level content areas (Power stone shit or whatever) and if you want some sort of PvE content like the ships, then you need to add a sloop (maybe bigger than a sloop) ghost ship that has the army of the damned NPCs. The ship would be fast and would grapple to the players ship in order for a battle to occur. Be a good way for players leaving the start servers a choice to partake in some extra, but fun PvE content without having to pray to Posiden about not running into an actual ghost ship. Claims need to be balanced. This needs to apply to PvP & PvE servers. The more claims you put down should have a price for the company to pay. Players and groups are really struggling trying to find a place to live outside of the starter zones and factions bigger than 10 claim most of the islands, if not all of the islands. So new players don't have a chance to get into the grit of the game without having to ask permission to get some land to build on. Restrictions on Freeport. Freeport is getting abused more than a whore by her pimp. This week is proof of that. I logged in today to find that my base and ships, once again, wiped by China. I spawn in at freeport and see about 500 rafts setting around. Groups with whole fleets just gathering resources. When they have enough, they'll call in the big boats and load all those supplies up, destroy the rafts and take off. This would not be so bad, if the islands in general weren't so cancer, thus leads to my next balance suggestion... Animal Spawn to player population. One of my favorite things upon visiting a new island is noticing the 50 fucking wolves running around the beach, excited to see me like I'm their master after I long day at work. Not only that, but the alpha's creature status that I THOUGHT was suppose to be rare, is more common than fucking fiber. Seriously, we kill one alpha and two more show up. This forces people to not want to farm resources and would rather go back to freeport to farm them. Please put a little bit of restraint on the Animal spawning on islands, especially predators, because farming 10,000 hide in an hour, shouldn't be a thing. The Raiding Scene. Probably a topic that will constantly be a back and forth fight. A lot of people like to think of offline raid protection as a balance mechanic for raiding. I'm all for offline raid protection for a game like this, since most goals you accomplish in the game are huge time sinks. Instead of pushing for Offline raid protection, I think the devs should find ways to promote online raiding, such as a leader board, with raiding as its core means of producing results. Players want to be at the top and the best way is a ranking system.
  13. Whenever I open the map with the M key. my FPS drops below 5. It does not occur when I die and the map opens. only happens when I open it by pressing M or using a treasure map
  14. I think it seerves a purpose in the flavor of being a pirate game, as scurvy is associated with pirates. Perhaps more descriptive anesm would better communicate this with players. For example, when C reaches the bottom, you get the "Scurvy" debuff and a message that tells you that you need vitamin C. A warning at 20% could let players know that if they don't find some C soon, they will develop scurvy. Perhaps having them all be a slow death is also not the best solution. Maybe scurvy could result in 20% lower combat damage and a slight 10% movement debuff. After an hour, you die from it. That might give player smore a of a chance to fix the problem, rather than just bleeeding out slopwly, as many are doing now. I think it's a bit too punishing now, especially for new players. The vitamin debuffs could stack to become a real problem, but just one vitamin deficiency should probably not be a game-ending problem. Scurvy take s a long time to kill a man, especially a tough salty dog! From Wikipedia: Scurvy Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C. Early symptoms include weakness, feeling tired, and sore arms and legs. Without treatment, decreased red blood cells, gum disease, changes to hair, and bleeding from the skin may occur. As scurvy worsens there can be poor wound healing, personality changes, and finally death from infection or bleeding.
  15. It really feels like either the 60% reduction didnt occur, or that if it did, they didnt remove existing spawns and we keep getting 40% more. They are everywhere, raft sailing is the only way right now sadly unless you are intentionally going out to hunt them.
  16. 1st off, who thought it was ok to make claims of a 40k man server; have a huge twitch turnout in anticipation, and think 6-8, 150 player starter zones was ok. Seriously? Your solution to take up 1/3 of the map with additional starter zones was equally as terrible; 1/3 of a way to small map for even the current player base is now filled with foundations and boat docks. 1/3 of the map wasted where people can't even build; every Island I've been to is a complete circle of red claims. Every lawless starter area is a complete circle of shipyards and foundations. Why didn't you just make instanced starter areas? No one needs to go back, and why do you need a shipyard for a raft? Who in the history of rafts ever used a shipyard to build one? no need for a shipyard = people being able to leave an island without the need to find a suitable place to toss down a shipyard and alleviates all the useless shipyard spam or at the very least doesn't require you to find a spot to build on a completely claimed island. So many Islands without key resources needed to survive, and I'm not even talking about all the islands that are just bugged and don't respawn. Every Island or at least server should have wood, thatch, metal (even if only a little), water, fiber, stone, flint, and food, period; if not it's basically unlivable. If it doesn't have those basics it's damn near impossible to live there ( are you expected to sail to a tropical region for fiber and berries everyday if you want to make the snow your home? If it's basically unlivable then your taking away useful real estate from a map cluster that is already to small for the number of people playing ( with it being on the top and the bottom of the map your wasting a lot of real estate). Unless, you have at a minimum the basics needed for survival. I can live with bugs, server down time, delays, and many other mishaps that occur during early access, but poor communication and the sheer lack of common sense on display here; makes me think you all could use my services. I have high hopes for this game, but for now until some of these game breaking decisions are touched up and some more servers sprout up I must bid you adieu. Keep working at it, I got faith in you.   17. apparently i replicated this on m9, l9 server grids which crash, however replicating this on l8 does not cause the error to occur. This could probably be the different server sending a different unexpected response to the client which cause the client to crash when the client assertion code does not expect the server to send. This is just a hypothesis on my side. Test Case: Opening the map in different server grid
  18. Having the wrong wind for your sails sucks. Its rough out there if you don't have a strong wind and tacking can make a 10 minute trip turn into an hour long one. Which is fine, I like the fact that tacking is in the game, but make the wind changes occur more often so we don't have to do it for longer periods of time.
  19. I agree with some of your objections. But you are posting on the PVE forum though, so your concern about someone taking your stuff seems misplaced. Sure, demolishing. But that takes days of decay, four on a Lawless server, more for claimed territory. Yes, it is possible to currently contest a claim, far before that decay happens. And then to get ownership of all of the construction and stockpile in that claim. Most view that as a bug, because that sure doesn't seem like PVE to us. Is that what you are concerned about? ----------- As for the land claim problem, the initial land rush was badly managed and should be a lesson for future wipes, which are inevitably coming someday. But I worry that we are complaining too soon, since the decay of those is intended to take days. The game is less than a week old right now. That decay hasn't had time to do it's job erasing the land rush. But yes, better to not let this occur in the future. Multiple ways the devs could do this at server wipe, I'm happy to see them attempt any of them during the next land rush.
  20. I currently have 19 hours logged, but only less than one hour of actual game time on any of the servers. When I actually got on I was like "Finally, frigging about time", because I'd been trying for several days since release of the early access to get on to a server, enduring long times of connecting / loading while my system was completely locked up and unresponsive while it was attempting to connect and load into the game. But then I changed the homeserver region, I get disconnected and the client crash and could no longer login into any server, and were then stuck with the loading limbo issue, which I currently still have. So I'm one of those who cannot play, who bought the game and I fully understand what it means that it's in early access, I want this game to succeed, but they're actually somewhat in violation of the terms and conditions with Early Access titles on Steam, because of the majority of players cannot play the game. My pc is above the required specifications, and still I'm not able to play the game, and I've been trying for so long to play the game, trying so many different things, trying the same things again whenever a new patch has been released, but clearly it still doesn't work. I'm open to helping the developers getting the game to work for those it currently does not, I'm open to test out various workarounds and other kind of things to identify what is going on when the issues occur and to try and fix these these things.

I checked and tested every prossible way with different computer as well, people on discord tryed to help me by changing stuff in the game folder as well to hope for a tempoary fix but nothing work. This bug is considered as a isolated issue which mean it's not a priority to fix. But in conclusion i think there is no way to fix the current players which have the bug. THey have to fix them manually which is almost impossible since they doesnt have any support tech team at the moment. What i can think of, is, a hot fix to counter the crash itself from happenning and wipe the server so everyone can play. But again it's just my thought. Some people are stuck for 3+ days it's not acceptable. I aggreed to play a Early acces when i purchased the game which mean Rubberband/rollback/lag/unbalanced stuff will occur during the test but i did'nt bought the product for not playing. There is a difference between removing acces to the game itself and comon bug.
  22. This -lowmemorymode doesn't seem to work at least it's not working for me, still having 20+ minutes connecting and loading times, without even getting into the server, at all. What is even more weird is that if this is an actual memory leak issue, how come some of the players have it and not all have it? There has to be commonality present here, so assuming it's a memory leak, then what is triggering the memory leak to occur, furthermore, what amount of memory do you consider low memory? Currently I'm launching the game with -lowmemorymode -high -nosplash -novsync, currently have over 19 hours logged, but only have around less 1 hour of actual game time. It also seems to be suffering from some of same connection, loading and responsiveness issues as Ark does. I would really like to be able to disable the menu video files from playing, and I'm thinking it might actually be affecting performance that it's running. I'm also noticing that it's the .wmv type of file which also might be affecting, instead of using an OPTIMIZED format for video play back in menus, like bink videos by radgametools. Perhaps you could add a debug startup parameter that will the game to create a log of whats going on when trying to connect and load the game, because this way it's becomes possible to be a lot more accurate in determining what and where it goes bad. I'm sure most of us who're not able to connect / load into the game servers, have client crashed, random disconnects and so, would be inclined to share whatever logs that are created this way, to help determine the cause of this so you in turn can fix it. /Inc.
  23. We just got aggro'd by a Damned ship. Just came into the bay and attacked our dry dock. we were a hour away from being able to sail. I have had a lot of patients with is launch but i am beyond done with the absolutely ridiculous decisions on the dev's part. People sailing for 10 hours not to find a claim because you can just plop down a claim every where you go. The launch was a joke and should have been easily foreseen the problems that were going to occur. There are islands that have no resources to build. I just put over 18 hours into building this ship just to see if we can even find a place to claim a territory and because of an AI ship came gallivanting around IN A STARTER AREA! we are back a square one. This game needs to be seriously evaluated. Ill see you in a few years when they get their head out of there asses. P.S. When is every Developer out there going realize they need to region lock FROM THE START!.
  24. After the latest v7 Patch, my company had the following occur: 1. I lost ownership on the company 2. All admins have lost their privileges 3. Roughly 30 people were dropped from the company To be clear, this wasn't any sort of mutiny or malicious abuse - it was a glitch as can be seen in the company logs. The details of the company are as follows: Name: The Pirate Bae Server: NA PVP Owner: Ulysses Gallahan Steam Id: STEAM_0:0:6213526 or 76561197972692780 If possible, we'd really like to have an admin fix this for us, as we're a group of roughly 150 players that have invested significant time and effort.
  25. No fix for this, i checked Discord, twitter and the forum. It's a bug which occur when your character is somehow stuck and the game wont allow you to connect to the game anymore. On twitter the Head dev said they are investigating into this bug on the side meanwhile they do content into the game. Some of us are unable to play for days every patch we have hope but this issue is not thier main focus. Take care and cross finger for a hotfix before the next week.
