  1. The combat in this game needs an overhaul. The player combat is fine, what I mean is the creatures. They took the time to develop a more intricate system than Ark's combat but neglected to adjust the way PvE combat works. We have all of these dodges, slashes, and stabs with no reason to even use them. Instead we constantly spam a specific attack because it has higher dps or longer reach. They should look at a game called Conan Exiles and use it for inspiration for their creature mechanics. The creatures need proper attack animations with vulnerability windows. If they don't have this it's just a tank and spank scenario, or a cheese fest of getting things stuck so you can shoot it. This combat worked in Ark because you were never meant to fight creatures on foot or with guns. This however is completely different in Atlas. You are expected to be able to kill creatures without the need for tamed creatures. I really enjoy the more grounded focus of the game and I hope they improve the combat. I look at so many other games and wonder why they can't do similar in Atlas or Ark.
  2. It would be nice to have a gate that snapped to the rest of the building pieces. They should also drastically increase the price of gates so people don't build ugly walls out of them.
  3. +1 creature spawns are completely out of control.
  4. I really can't understand how this was overlooked, but the amount of creature spawns is just ridiculous. Why do we need dozens of speed boat crocs, packs of wolves every 10 feet, and other stupid shit like this. It doesn't make any sense it adds no tension to the game it just adds grief. The players don't even need to grief me because the game already does it all the time. Every single island I go to has some sort of overabundance of some creature. It is generally predatory and is harder to kill than the Army of the Damned. They really need to fix this it's ruining my experience. Real animals do not act this way at all. Creatures also should not attack ships unless specifically designed to.
  5. Creatures should not aggro on your ship unless they are specifically designed to do so. Creatures in general are fucking stupid atm. They have no sort of balancing at all.
  6. +1 I would really like to see them do more with the NPC's in this game.
  7. True, but they need different tiered beds I think.
  8. Useless compared to Ark I should say. I think guns will mostly reign supreme in Atlas and I want it to stay that way. Also wolves in general are kind of broken with their instant healing bullshit. I don't know if tamed wolves are like this or not though.
  9. Honestly if they just made it so we had real traps that didn't have to be reapplied a thousand times it wouldn't be that bad of a taming system. It would be cool if we had a combination of animal traps with the animal baiting system in the Ark immersive taming mod. Once the animal was trapped it would remain trapped until you finished feeding it. There is really no need to make it as grindy or annoying as Ark when the creatures are going to be nearly useless for pvp.
  10. It wouldn't be hard to just make something look like a pitfall trap without actually falling through the terrain. Also babies have been in Ark for a very long time so this game could completely do this no problem. I think you are overestimating the amount of time it would take for them to implement something like this. It more or less just comes down to players accepting a system the way it is and then the developers just shrug it off lazily. KO taming is complete garbage and I never want to see it again. I would rather not see taming at all if these are the shitty taming systems we are going to be getting in Atlas.
  11. They need a placeable "core" item within the ship that you must destroy in order to claim it. Once destroyed you can then place your own "core" and it is now yours. I think this would be a mostly fair way of doing this as it not only requires resources it also requires them to raid the ship. They could also use a similar system for territory control where flags are craftable and must be destroyed in order to claim the territory.
  12. If they would just allow us to build on claimed land that was taxed and had to abide by their laws I think it could work in everyone's favor.
  13. No there is not an easy way. The easiest way is to just have different weapon types. If you zoom out on your character you will notice your equipped items are physically on your character. So you could have your gathering tools, dual pistols, a blunderbuss, etc. I don't remember the total but it's a pretty good amount. You may notice it takes a few seconds to be able to use newly equipped items and armor. I can assure you that it's not lag it's just a poorly implemented way of equipping items.
