Like many it seems, my strategy is to quit. No point in building after 3 months of work lost or the risk of yet another wipe. My intention was to bring in some old friends this Summer into the city I built, about 12 of us, but that plan is no gone.

WIPE CONFIRMED - Live Stream
Darkintellect replied to [GP] Guybrush Threepwood's topic in General Discussion
Again, Ark did not experience this on PvE servers at least. Not all games have wipes and Atlas is not an MMORPG which is the reference you're using. This is an online survival using a shared server space. Think of it like Ark which you were able to move between servers using the spires. Ark is the reference here, not an MMORPG. -
WIPE CONFIRMED - Live Stream

If you honestly think they'll see any large numbers from this point on, I have some beachfront property in Nebraska to sell you. No one will want to play knowing what they worked on will be erased. It's already garnering no real numbers if you look at new purchases from Steam. Any gains will be small as they push to get a console release out at the same time they're at 30% of growth in same period as Ark. They know this. PvP had a wipe, not PvE. I had my city remain since I started building it in 2015 until a bit after the 2nd expansion. It was only lost with the server merging due to falling numbers and too many servers. -

Notice Ark didn't have a wipe. From 2015 until now, my two PvE servers had zero wipes. -

Patch V15: The good, the questionable and the bad
Darkintellect replied to Doje's topic in General Discussion
It screwed everyone, even those who wish to build because the spammers can just box them in and greif them. -
Which makes no sense. If they didn't want people to build on lawless, they would do something about claimed lands since you have people sailing around for 50+ hours and unable to find anywhere to build. Lawless at least had people give enough spots as opposed to one guy with 1/3rd to half an island to himself as is seen on 9 of the claimed islands around my region.

Patch V15: The good, the questionable and the bad

THE BAD Not listed in the Patch Notes. Foundations now only give off a 4 foundation radius no build aura from other players. -
Fixed Pillars being buildable on PVE islands.
Darkintellect replied to Archsenex's topic in General Discussion
I feel like this needs to seriously be clarified. Do they mean Pillars won't be buildable in Freeports as those are PvE areas for PvP servers or all PvE servers will restrict Pillar building and for what purpose? -
Animal Breeding and Thatch Animal
Darkintellect replied to Final Vegeta's topic in General Discussion
Gathering buff? If you mean the passive you select to allow for better hand gathering, that does not effect harvesting with tools. Right now, my bred bull level 77 now gathers about 3 times more than my pick on a tree. -
Animal Breeding and Thatch Animal
Darkintellect replied to Final Vegeta's topic in General Discussion
Bulls are the Thatch animal. I get about 3 times that of pick with my bred bull. -
This is insane. How hard is it to put the radius to the size of the actual foundation?!
-
Same issue on ours. How difficult is it to reduce the radius to the size of the actual foundation!?

There seems to be a number of people going around standing on ships while other players, typically from their same company, are dropping metal or wood at their feet. They pick it up and since there's no limitation to pickup weight they can do this until at 10-40k lbs. They eventually get to the threshold and sink the ship, then harvest said ships. The quick fix is to prevent "anchored ships" from registering overweight. There's no purpose to the weight issues for anchored ships anyway seeing as it's only for the purpose of traveling. If said ship comes off anchor and are still overweight, the damage begins. Let me know what you think.
