    This is a bug that we'll have fixed up for it's next update which hopefully will be sooner than later.

    Oi .... So my idea for small company players is a small land claim flag in the radius of the tek forcefield. Not actually a forcefield. Anything inside the radius cannot be damaged, but, the small company will have to pay gold for protection. The max amount of small company is 10 player, so for example, if I make a company by my self I will have a option to place down a small flag. The trade off is you and your company cant kill anyone and no one can kill you. If you are sharing a island with a big company you will be affected by tax. If you have NPC swivels it will not shoot at players. The option to target only pathfinders will not show up same as tames, but, if the island gets war tokened the flag will not help you. If you sail off the island you will be fair game. Here is my idea for small companys. If you have a question about it feel free to ask. You can increase company cap and the small company will be safe.

    Just wanted to say a quick thank you to Jat and Dollie for posting responses to numerous threads yesterday to address questions and issues raised by the new Blackwood map in a timely manner. I have tinkered with the map a bit myself and while it does appear to have some things that need to be worked on, it shows great promise and I'm looking forward to playing it over time. As someone who has criticized the communication here in the past, I want to give credit when it improves and the responses yesterday were a welcome sign.

    Finally got on blackwood today (thx Mr J) and I gotta say it is absolutely stunning, Why people are still slating this game and its developers is beyond me, suggestions yeh, constructive criticism ok, but this game and it's devs do not deserve the hate they have been and are receiving. Yeh the games not perfect, but damn the amount we have got for the small amount we all paid is phenomenal. Frankly the price it is now on steam is an injustice,they are practically giving it to people. I think the haters need to lay off and let Atlas get firmly established.I for one wish to see it do really well, and on multi platforms too and i'm sure i'm not alone in this.

    Alpha Lions Are really annoying if you Want you could pickup a Bear in G10 for free And Maybe some swivels And grapeshots to keep your tames Save or settle down on our island .

    - So just need more cannonballs on one plank, good that the target is not moving... And for 10x just one plank in damage I get all the loot and 75% of demo resources... Hope you anchor near metal and coal spawns... - so no land PVP? = no combat timer... - so you wake up to a stolen and no longer sunken ship... “big difference“

    when I log into atlas now I see a section that says cats,sailskins, and console on the screen. guess its coming sooner than end of year. but my question is do yall think the game will be crossplay? because only a handful of people play on pc and xbox will surely bring in thousands of new players. answer from a dev would be great.

    Ship stealing- make steering wheels and sails useable by any pirate so long as theres no npc on it already. Offline ship griefing- increase anquored ship plank resistance to 1000% at least. Also make doors and walls easier to destroy while ship is anquored.(ship can be raided easily, but very hard to sink) Also remove combat timers! There 90% of grief play is gone. These three changes could vastly improve aspects of the game, and I feel as though they would be quick and easy to implement.

    I keep this thread open for your thoughts, but instead of splitting players with single player mode, huge company servers.. small company servers... private servers...Pve...Pvp..and one server for each of the 17 genders, it should be the goal to put them all in one massive online world, which is having diffrent regions with diffrent rules.

    Aye, the current implementation needs some work. In the future, we'll have it so folks can determine which they're trying to spawn and also protect against some of the griefing that can happen with companies preventing others from fighting it.

    It's a client-side issue we'll need to resolve. Single/isolated foundations with structures on top of them are being triggered as 'fast decay' by the client, however, the server recognizes that they're legitimate and marks them as normal decay. Due to the mismatch between the client and the server, your game tells you that you can demolish it, however attempting to do so results in a failure because the server protects against it. The server always knows the true state. It's a confusing issue and hopefully one we can patch soon, as it doesn't allow folks to know when they can actually demolish it.

    There's just no pleasing some people, you know. No matter how hard you try, they always find something to complain about. Some criticism certainly is justified, but what's coming from some people just is a load of nonsense.

    A technical hurdle we have with ships is the memory footprint they add to the game. With all the unique pieces on a boat, just by introducing a new type, we end up adding a lot of memory and there isn't really any other gameplay aspect that's comparable to it, once we make some improvements and overhauls to this system, it'll become a lot more likely that we'll be able to add additional ships, not to say that it won't happen now, but this is one of the things we have to workaround. Memory is an important aspect as it's something we need to consider when getting ATLAS to launch on console later on. It's why in the past when we have decided to do introduce an update that effects ships, it tends to be based on introducing mechanics that work with ships, so think ship weapons/structures, their attachment system etc: Racks, Ballista Harpoon, Fishing Net. The attachment system is pretty robust, so it wouldn't be surprising to see new systems based around it.

    Yup, that's definitely true, though I don't think those people would feel that way about the mass multiplayer game in its current state, perhaps as we get further along in its development

    This looks like a bug with the training dummy in particular, and there are likely some other structural pieces with low decay timers that will need to be tweaked. I have spoken to the design team about syncing up the decay so that there is consistency across the board and it's something they're amenable to though it might be a bit of time before it comes into place. As for structure spam in general, that's a much more difficult issue to deal with and we are actively discussing and looking into solutions, but there are no immediate changes on the horizon as it's something we'd like to plan out more thoroughly.

    It's something we are looking into. Blackwood is pretty large, we had to make some technical changes to support the size of the map and this might be the reason we're not seeing as many spawns, not just due to the amount of space available but some tech reasons. If you're running on a non-dedi, you may have to wait a while in certain areas for all the spawners to appear (i.e fresh water sources around land masses).

    If you open Steam, go to the Atlas store page and download the Blackwood DLC map this should go away. And yes, you do need to do this even if you were playing on Blackwood before they moved it to a DLC.

    The communication is good, but unfortunately as you mentioned most, if not all, of that activity was in relation to the all new shiney Blackwood. Because it's new and hot meat! Posts about the old "boring" map, i.e. the official servers get layers of dust. My post here about yet again, decay timers. The actual important things regarding people losing stuff doesn't get things addressed in a timely manner. Why are things suddenly changing to show 2.5 days decay timer, why are things suddenly auto-decaying after taking 2 days break from the game. Where's the timely responses to that?

    +1 for crossplay. Its the future of gaming, reguardless of how much sony hates sharing. Especially with the next gen consoles on the horizon, they can usually compete with PCs for the first year or so untill PC gamers do the next GPU or RAM or CPU upgrade and blow them out of the water for the rest of thier cylce. Crossplay on SoT was awesome. Concoles are for kids i know. But i enjoy playing with my nephew. Or at the very least the capability to. Lettekinney? Props.

    All Islands and map in general: Cannot plant crops because none of the "Unique" biomes match the seeds allowances.

    yes they gona be looking at 5fps max! on low settings lol. and the whole crossplay thing I agree with realist it would be a total disaster. the xbox noobs would get slaughtered before they even know what hit them! they would all leave faster than the pc crowd did on dec 23

    Oh let me assure you I’m quite familiar with Realist. If you look you will notice we have both been here since the beginning. On some things we have agreed, on some things we have not, but you know what I respect about him even when we disagree? He sticks to expressing his views without poisoning the discourse with personal attacks. However little you might think of him, have you ever seen personal insults on a game forum resolve or improve anything? One sign of maturity is the ability to disagree with someone without attacking them personally. Attack his ideas, positions or arguments to your hearts content, I have done so more times than I can count, but when you attack the person rather than the idea you lose me.

    This was the straw that broke the camels back in the end. It became more of a job, and when you are FORCED to do something all the time or your progress is lost its not going to go well in a game where all you do is build. They could have changed it at least for PvE, their playerbase there was mostly small groups and Solo players to begin with.

    Sorry to hear that. I remember what it was like before having better tames, it was a real uphill struggle for sure. If you are playing solo, taming can be even more annoying. It is Always better to have a second person as "guard' to help out with unwanted predators disturbing. Other tip is to wear plate armor if possible. Also I have noticed that some Islands are a bit more difficult in terms of more predator spawns and more alphas spawning (sometimes it even seems bugged). I haven't written down which Islands I have found "easier", but you could try a few different ones. On our very small island there are very rarely predators and alphas, I have seen alpha rattle snake and wolf only once, in a months time or so. I usually run around naked without weapon or bear. there are a few bees but i can run from them or carry a sword. On the beach there usually no bees at all. There are bears there so if you wanna try that island you could. You might have to kill bears to make high level spawn tho but maybe you know that. It is in D11, on the East side in grid, the third island up, if you count/see from bottom grid line. If you are in EU pve I might even be able to give you a nice bear, I have quite a few of them. Just the other day I found 2 abandoned hugh lvl ones on a Beach. The other day I found abandoned elephant and rhino. That is Another tip, sail around doing treasure maps and you are likely to find abandoned tames. Good luck, I know it can be tough but hang in there. Once you have your tames get them a Nice solid shelter (built in stone) if ye want to reduce risk for them getting killed. )

    10x is much better than 3x Your missing that the enemy cant unanquor your ship, so this would only work for ships at sea. There is an easy to use war system for land pvp. Thanks for the feedback and concern!

    Me too. Just log in long enough to reset timers, feed critters. For us it just took waaaaay too long to sail anywhere even with enhanced ships. Had fun building and doing treasure maps so I'd say 1100+ hours I got my money's worth. Since the content is "one and done" we played primarily to interact with other players but all the zones are mostly ghost towns now. Next mega update will determine if we get back into the game or quit.

First, in the cropplots you cant use any seed! only the base seed (veggi) functs. next : flying trees on the Ozean next: no Sharks or Dolphins( i see Nothing) next: A giant Whale on an Island! next: The silo cant place!     If it is the Same tiger you have Problems with, then Most Likely someone Else already Tried to tame him. Once someone Else fed him you can not tame him anymore

    Thing is they don't even need to be a huge company to destroy you. A handful of trolls with too much time on their hands can get a cannon bear and several dozen grenades and blow holes in your base in no time. Even easier for them to sink all your ships.

    After finding decay timers getting reduced even further for stuff i'm getting close to pulling the plug. Training dummies now have 2 days 12 hours decay timer, lost one already because of it. Not much of a big deal for training dummies, but the constant reduction in decay timers just because spam can't be solved is getting ridiculous. If I wanted to play a 24/7 365 game then i'd be happy, but nerf decay timers is getting stupid. Even ARK wasn't this bad with decay timers.

    can we have a dock (small/med/large) for (sloop/schooner&brig/galleon) when the ship is parked inside it the items inside the cargoship racks will be emptied and sent into (name of the resource box) The dock can only empty the ship when the ship is green anchored Require: -NPC to work (minimum 1 & max 10) -golds the distance of the resource box you wanna store the stuff in will affect the time of emptying your cargoship rack

    Like other players, i was wating for this. Blackwood will be perfect for my own server. So... Speak for yourself. I want new stuff too, but Blackwood will be the start point for the map modders with the release of the DEVKIT.
