  1. DEVs should do 2 things there. 1) - Make guys repair everything while ship on anchor. 2) - Make "master design" feature - when your ship is ready, you save all what you designed, and then when you back to your base, you should be able to put your ship in some kind of repairment docks/wharf (DEVs should introduce this one as well). It shows - how many resources and dyes you need to repair damaged or to replace all missing ceilings, stairs, ladders, cannons etc according to saved master design. And maybe allow you to put blueprints there, so new ceiling squares will be masterwork for example... Because right now - if you build a battle ship, you build it as flat and straight as it gets. Because if you wanna some design, some railings, sloped walls, etc, you wanna paint em beautiful way, you then simply get tired replacing all destroyed parts in battles. I came up with this idea after I took down more than 50 SotD's with my Brig. I started it really cool looking. 50th battle I met with no design and as empty top deck as it possible. Right now it's just too troublesome to make your battle ship looks cool. (I'm not saying anything about kiting stern shootgun meta. There is no damage there in battle, but IMAO - that design should not exists : )) )
  2. - Blacksmith, Grill, Cauldron, Campfire, Lighthouse and Hook with torches should ALWAYS have: Press E to enter inventory (you can not imagine how many pieces of metal and other resources I wasted by accidentally pressing E on blacksmith and light fire out while alloys were in production there).
  3. From open waters it takes me about 8 attempt to finally climb one. It's really "fun" (sarcasm) when you need to get aboard asap : ))
  4. It's not just about ship's speed, as I mentioned above.
  5. Will he be able to flee with the same speed then? : ) Yeah well I see your point. But then maybe DEV's should separate how thing happens in PvP and PvE. Like it happened in WOW (as far as I know - in PVP all players are equal and better equipment provide just a tiny amount of additional stats, while in PvE you growing from a little man to a godlike).
  6. Ah. I get it now! I was always wonder why do we have just one pole? : )) (btw, in real sphere map there must be like 30 grids in equator and 6 near pole and hitting top borger tun you around and warp you to that same top border just half atlas east-west) : ))
  7. To build mythic ship which is way to strong is the same extreme situation as if you build mythic and it's just the same as common. Changes must be reasonable. But don't forget - you not just get your mythic BPs. And then just build it. You risk (go and kill some SotD's lvl 50+), get the highest blueprint possible, then you spend insane amount of time to craft thing (try to farm mythos, hah? Or get 6 types of each resources?) and after all your efforts you get for like 5% unnecessary improvement which you probably wont even notice...? This is wrong. It's just doesn't worth it at all. And aslo the most problem is not just there. Things should get their improvement in their purpose details and add some more. By that I mean: - Only planks should be way more durable (they are now, all fine here)... but what if there will be buff decreases minimum health for leaks? - Speed sails must provide you more speed. They are sometimes, yeah, but... why would I want them to turn 0.26 sec faster and be for like 30k of health? They could instead increase full speed handling and wind angle? - Handling sails must provide handling. They do not do anything with it right now (they just do wind angle, which must be buff for speedsails, and acceleration which is anyway up to speedsails rising). They should instead increase your 60% sails (battle position) handling and maybe decrease counterwind speed penalty. I've got some bluprints for ships aslo. - Repairment box should decrease amount of resources for repairs and increase speed of repairs (right now it's just more durable). - Food storage must increase time food needs to spoil (right now it's just more durable). - Ammunition storage must provide a bit faster reload speed (right now it's just more durable) and maybe crit chance for your cannons (there is no crits here right now right?). - Cannons must not be just about damage. How about range, reload speed or even cannonballs speed (and also crits?) There must NOT be the situation when you get your mythic speedsails and sail with 200% of speed. But not 5% either... (IMAO 20% - 30% is fine here). Yeah. I saw masterworks cannon with a 100% of damage once...
  8. It's not 5 minutes! It's just 2 minutes 30 seconds : )) I learned that there must be different approach to battle with Galley but... well I was able to take down SotD lvl-60 with it. You sail by (receiving damage), you turn to SotD and shoot! With Rally - you will be able to do 2nd shoot sometimes. Then you go full speed, and after you gain long distance, you stop and turn 90. At this time SotD approach - you shoot him couple of times and then go. You just need to get right direction before start. No "dancing" with SotDs. It's just long, slow thoughtful fight. No way to dodge damage. No way do do it fast... but well. I don't think I was able to battle 50+ SotDs with Brig, so Galley is useful somewhere. But I agree - the handling Galley is real torture, and even if they ever do x6 again, I won't probably build one. It's just no joy of doing battles with it. BTW. There was a Corsairs pirate game before, And there were (if I remember it right) 4 sails position. - Closed. - Aproaching (something around 30% - slow speed to aproach wharf). - Handling/Battle (around 60%) - this is where ship get most of it handling. And you should use it in battles and for maneuvering. - Full - for a speed and a bit lack of handling. I'm totally not sure if it works like that here. I'm not sure about how turning mechanics works here at all. Sometimes your ship turn fast. Sometimes it goes about straight line (I lost my Schooner like that, I departure polar island, then I was on my turn to avoid iceberg, and then suddenly my ship lost it's handling and went right to that iceberg. There I found that touching it with even small speed, do for like 16000 damage to your planks). During the rain your boat might start to resist wind and illogically start to push you to counterwind. There are a lot of issues that shouldn't work like that... And yeah about that: That's because most of ppl tried their BATTLE Galley just with anarchy patch : )
  9. That's who I'm actually. And I fought them with just usual Brig. No designs at all. No louvers. No shotguns. No big cannons. No tactics like kiting etc. I had just a common Brig. 6 guns in gunports. 2 additional cannons on a deck. And that's it. Swim by. Shoot. Turnaround. Repeat. But anyway I do understand that "relaxing sailing" idea. So if it's possible - consider to sail along the border, close to it. This one is safe route and you will probably meet 2-3 SotD's each grid you wont even need to dodge. The only threat is monstrous whales but they are in x1 and x15 grids only.
  10. No. I'm at PvE server and talking about SotD's fighting and mostly - about Galley vs high lvl SotD. Before anarchy - I had my Brig and I've got Journeyman Cannon with 160% additional damage. THAT was really awesome improvement and It totally 100% worth it! My alpha-strike raised from 9600 to 15360! Yet with sails... well, I really don't feel any difference. And most important - the Mythic Blueprints are actually top ones, so there wont be much better numbers, right? (Actually I'm not sure... maybe there might be. I once got Mythical Cannon with just 107% damage... like hell any1 want this one?) So maybe those pieces are worth in PvP? Or they greatly improve smaller ships (Brigs, Schooners) experience? I don't know yet...
  11. I spent 2 days, hunting extreme high lvl SotD (30 and higher... top one I took down was lvl-60) and I especially expected to get some good quality sails blueprint from them. And I've got few. I spent then the whole day to replace 5 common speed sails and 1 common handling sail in my Galley to 4 masterworks speedsails and 2 mythic handling sails. Then I set those renew sails a-a-a-a-a-and... (tha-da-a-a-a-a). ...I DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE. I'm puzzled. Are they actually worth it? Should I keep my desire to get as good sails as it possible? Or... all bonuses are so tiny, so it's like you spent all of your time, gold and resources and get your ship 0.269% faster (sarcasm)? Lets' start with a handling one. Here the guy I've got: There are 2 additional stats (beside durability): Sail Acceleration: 119.254%. What does it mean? Does it mean that the ship acceleration provided by sail is 119% faster? And if there are 2 of 6 sails like that, does it means that they works just 2/6 of their strength? So that addition 19% will turn to 1/3 x 19 - is 6% more acceleration I've got? (the hell I need this acceleration?) Sail Effective Angle: 109.832% If there is an effective counterwind angle of this sail is about 175° (after that - indicator start to turn red, found this info in youtube) then 9% more angle will provide me 15° extra. But 180° is max and all higher numbers will not work right? And yeah - the main question. Are handling sails increases ship turning speed? Because when I've changed one common handling sail to 2 mythical ones my Galley's, the turn around time decreased from 2 minutes 36 sec to 2 minutes and 31 sec... which is about the same : (( Next... well speedsails. I've got those guys: Sail Max Velocity: 110.526%. So again. If there are 4 of 6 sails like that, does it means my ship will get 4/6 of this buff and get just 6.7% more speed? THAT's amount of speed O_o now I'm faster then wind (sarcasm). Sail Turning Effectiveness 110.488% What's this one? Is it increase the speed my sails turning? While default speed from max left to max right position is 4 seconds, the buff dramatically decrease it's time to 3.6 sec right? With captaining buff my time is 2.6 sec and this sail just do it 0.26 sec faster! Not sure if that's really matters anywhere. Especially with Galley - it turns so slow so you have plenty of time to turn your sails back and forward for several times. Of course they are much more durable but... well... before and after anarchy I took down more then 50 SotD's and I lost just one sail in a battle and it was my mistake. So any SotD's usually do not provide even 12k of damage (enough to take out 1 sail in a Brig). That means I would not dramatically want this high amount of durability right? So... the question is here. Are they worth it? If all I wrote above is actually works like that then... I spent 2 days for hunting, 1 day of crafting, tons of resources and more then 2k of gold and got my Galley: - Turn around 3.3% faster (which is anyway extremely slow) - Sail 6.7% faster (which I don't need in battles and for far travels there is Schooner there) - My speedsails turn from left to right 0.26 sec faster... (which is useless improvement due to extremely slow Galley turning speed) - 6% more acceleration (which again is useless because it's impossible to "dance" with SotDs by Galley) - 2 slow sails catch all counterwind possible (but even with that - counterwind sailing is anyway extremely slow).
  12. Right now they are twice as annoying due to unstable framerate, unstable ping and glitches. Like you hit your repair hammer and nothing happen. You push LMB again and you not swipe your hammer at all but suddenly mini-game appears (my girl screams WOW as a girl when success and do uh-uh with a bass male voice when falls : )) And... of course there is just no information about - what advantage I get if I success.
  13. The question here is - will they be doing their random purposeless circles? Will they do it as a squad in a formation or they do it separately from each other? And... of course DEVs told that they wont be more difficult to deal with, that means - they rebalance them. And... do not forget about new shipyard and ships buffs : )) Well... in my SOLO experience, Brig (just usual one with 2 extra deck cannons, no louvers, no shotgun, but with 170% sturdiness and -40% sinking in captaining) can deal with SotD up to lvl 36 (maybe even 40 but I didn't meet one). While a Galley (default one... well with a 26 fine guns 118% damage) can take down SotD up to lvl 60. So it turned out for me - they are not that difficult to defeat (I even survive and won battle Brig against 2 SotD at once. One was lvl-35 another lvl-22. I was heavily damaged, lost one sail, but survived : )
  14. That's exactly what I did... and well. I see now that with new system of ship buffs and due to small company, I'll never build one after a wipe. It's just too expensive, and requires massive amount of resources (gathering) to operate it. It's way to glitchy also... like I've been in the middle of fight and suddenly lost most of my firepower. It turned out almost all my crew unseated their guns, fell through the floor and stuck floating in the center bottom floor. Galley is extremely hard to sail and most important - to battle. Even with 2 mythic handling sails It take's for about 2.5 minutes to turn around. I do not enjoying fighting with it. Well... For last 2 days I was on my high lvl SotDs hunt. The highest SotD I took down is lvl-60!!! (I have just a Galley with 52 gunports no louvers, no shotgun...) The first vs 60lvl battle took 7 planks... but yet, with more experience I've got myself, I then took down lvl-54, lvl-57 and lvl-56 (all separately) with no planks lost. First Galley had just a single common handling sail. 2nd version - 2 mythic handling sails and I didn't noticed any difference... and yeah. The loot. 4 high lvl SotD's. Those handling sails were only useful reward. Then I had a crap. Like mythic cannon with 107% damage (I have 30 fine cannons onboard with 118%) This mission is over for me. It was fun but yet torture (this awful handling... arrrrrrgh)! Next mission is... Powerstones maybe... p.s. - just because it will be a wipe anyway I made this Galley pink just for fun. And name it "Fluffy Snow" (all our vessels have northern and winter names. Because we live in Tundra and our Company is Wintersail).
---------- We talking about ways to gain discoveries points. Right now about whales, where to find and how to kill. The message above - about other ways also, ghostship, kraken etc.
  16. We too remember how our journey began with a smile. First - we headed to some desert regions. We didn't find any free land to settle. Once we found an island where there were NO structures at all. We thought we lucky... but then, when we went ashore there were like 50 wild animals at once attacked us, and crocks even followed and attacked us on a raft! Bad luck... we were running from there full sails : ) And then landed at peaceful tundra's shore. There were tough days... we HAD TO spend all nights inside of our temporary building (because we were dying of cold), and during daytime we were building our firs ship. Then far south travel for saps... and because there was so difficult to gather it (due to crazy wild animals), we gathered just enough to build a fur armor for ourselves (then we made two storage fulfilled with saps). After a while through trial and error we made it to nice and safe existence. It was our great adventure. It start with two trembling guys and ended with a bright and peaceful village shining through the night (we even built guest piers with unlocked houses, tannery and unlocked trap for a bears here : ) And we provide a ppl a honey if they don't have one and trying to tame high lvl bear). We always called the place "for those strong in spirit" but... well... DEVs did huge job to turn this place for wimps. It's like betray hard rock and turn yourself to pop : ) We love our Tundra so much so we will settle there again after a wipe : ) But I guess there wont be that adventure between life and death anymore. We only hope after a wipe all players will head to southern regions so we could look for a good place in renewed eastern Tundra : )
Даже в регионе где моя база, который я вдоль и поперёк исплавал, одно до сих пор не открыто : ) ---------- The guy asked how to find discoveries. I explained about spyglass.
  18. You know - right now there is a gr8 opportunity to try/test anything in a game, you wouldn't do another time. The game is about personal experience too. For example - when I first build my battle PVE Brige I put steering wheel to the boat center (for faster access to all parts of ship), I made a stairs there also, put deck cannons to ceilings there too... made some beauty with railings. And... well it turned out center of ship receive most of SotDs damage! Raid after raid I found myself repairing way a lot of constructions in a center. Steering wheel in center also move you sight view closer to back sail. And all that beauty within battle vessel - just wast of resources for repairment. Now my next version of PVE battle Brig has it's center empty (just a single sail). My current goal is to try Galley with battle conditions (because It all go wipe I painted it to pink just for fun). With x6 you can experiment a lot with different designs and then go and see - how it goes?
  19. EU PVE. Personally do what I wouldn't do in usual conditions : ) For example - building battle Galley solo, planing to hunt high lvl SotD's with it. Right now I do understand - Galleys just for a companies. Because even with x6, with Bear and Elephant it takes me whole 2 days to build one... It's like that. I can build a Schooner. And Brig is cost about 2 times more than a Schooner. While Galley is 6 times more than a Brig! (I mean... it's around 22k of fibers for Brig and more than 125k for Galley). So I just don't wanna think about how long it would takes me to build one in just usual day : )) For a month or so I guess.... and. I have to build guns there... 26 guns if I do usual - It will cost me 2080 metal for Alloy. And yet I have just 4 metal spawn in my island : ) It's around 800 metal in total and 3 hours respawn timer : ) And then I need at least 600 cannonballs and that's 3000 metal more... : )) I just wanna say - this anarchy is gr8 opportunity to experience something you didn't yet, and then see how things happens there.
  20. Endgame itself is not a problem. The problem is - there is NO MMO instruments in this game. I really hope - there is "not yet". By that I mean - do you know what companies do your closest Golden Age? When? How many players go there? How often it happen? Why wouldn't you join them? Well... there is just NO WAY to get any answers on those questions. Unless you go to Golden Age grid and wait if there is a group of players appears. And if there is, you ask - may you join? (I most cases her majesty Silence - will be your answer) But... well maybe you wait for ages for group of ppl. Because there is no instrument for players to gather together and go. As far as I can see - there are tons of tiny/solo companies (most of them like that actually) and ppl would gladly join a fleet for a day. Without any unnecessary actions (like form alliances etc). In most MMOs that's what ppl do (I closed half of the Mythic Raid once in WOW by just playing solo). Right now - it's just impossible here... p.s. - I was on Kraken with my Brig once. Tentacles are 4 ballistas oneshot. Kraken's phase - 2 Galleys oneshot... With 2 Galleys and 8 brigs - that will be fast and easy kill. Theoretically : ))
  21. We were thinking of going to our lovely Lawless place again, but... I saw pictures renewed Eastern Tundra (we are at I2 it's east from central "H" column but somehow it's still Western) and I wish to go some eastern Tundra Lawless and settle there now.
  22. I'll try some aspects I didn't tried yet. Just to see how they works. Especially related to building battle Galley and do some high lvl SotD's fight.
  23. I passed HALF ATLAS just to find - treasure right INSIDE of mountain. Army of damned out through the rock and... there is just no way I can dig the treasure. Not near (just potatoes and rocks) not in the top of this cliff where green light out (potatoes and rocks). Gr8 voyage!
  24. But there will be a repair-structure, you upkeep it, and it repair your buildings. There is a good way to avoid situation, when guy put billboards (16 days decay rate) left and never back...
  25. You need to die. After that all works (I'm not kidding).
